This book came exactly as described, very little wear, just like new for a few dollars in price, terrific savings, used books are the only way to go. Great service, fast shipping, thanks you!
A Good Compendium at a Bargain Price.......2007-08-24
We hand this out to each participant in my company's Six Sigma Green Belt Training.
Good Book!.......2007-07-08
I own all of the Micheal George Lean Six Sigma books. THey are a part of the Villanova Univeristy curricullum. If you are a Kaizen facilitator or involved in projects this book is helpful with good pictures and guidance. Worth the money in my eyes..
Excellent Reference.......2007-07-04
Have close to me and use often for different processes. In a short period of time is well dog eared.
The best of the pocket Six Sigma tool guides.......2007-05-26
This text is simply the best of the various pocket Six Sigma tool guides currently available in the marketplace. Although this book is a quick reference guide as the subtitle suggests, there is enough substance here for it to walk on legs and provide learning material for those readers already familiar with basic quality concepts. Quite honestly, I am not sure how the authors arrived at the "Nearly 100 Tools" portion of the subtitle, because the tools presented here can be numbered in various ways. However, this aspect really does not matter. What matters is that all of the major Six Sigma tools are presented with a lot of nice diagrams, graphs, and other figures to give the reader a good sense of the fundamentals of any given tool. These well-encapsulated nuggets of information should serve as excellent memory joggers for some, and good starting points for those needing additional detail available in other texts or online resources. Especially helpful are the numerous brief "tips" sections throughout that point novices in the right direction. Note that the organization of the book might not be well suited for some, because it is not ordered according to the customary steps of the DMAIC process. To some degree, the first chapter points to various sections of the book during its cursory walkthrough of the DMAIC process, although the street signs are not very well planned. Despite some minor flaws, this book serves its purpose well.

Black Belt Memory Yogger .......2007-03-09
The Black Belt Memory Yogger is a handy pocket guide for people involved with six sigma processes. I like the why use it and what does it do questions. Good quick review of basic statistics and tools.
Handy and Useful, but pricey.......2003-02-21
This book is a concise reference for use by practitioners and those on the shop floor. I use it daily in our one square mile manufacturing complex.
Our people understand the tools with help of the illustrations. The how to use the tools is clear. Sure some may be overwhelmed by the statistical detail; however, the graphs are useful in showing folks what we as a team are working towards.
At only 265 pages, this spiral book is pricey, but that's expected from the millionaires of the Six Sigma Academy. ASQ's entries into this segment pale in comparison. Overall, I use it in any public course offering I teach. Keep it simple!

A tool that can't break!.......2007-01-09
This little book is full of great ideas and concepts and can help you out on the job, but also if you are a person looking to become familar with these concepts, this is a great book to read.
CAN'T BEAT THIS FOR THE PRICE.......2006-05-15
I recently purchased the Lean Pocket Guide (published by MCS Media, Inc. i.e., The Lean Store) and found it to be the most book for your money that is on the market. This book set the standard for good, informative information on Lean. The illustrations and explanations were perfect for the folks on the shop floor, as well as my supervisors.
A Lean book that practices what it preaches!
What you need on the shop floor:-).......2006-03-30
Hello, this little booklet is excellent. You get all information on lean concepts in your palm and right where you need it -not at your desk- but on the shop floor.
Even better would be customized country versions to spread the lean culture widely amongst companies;-))
Regards
Ralf Lippold
OUTSTANDING!.......2005-08-20
The Lean Pocket Guide is undoubtedly the best value Lean book ever written. All the Lean tools are clearly defined, along with good, simple illustrations. The Key Points at the end of each section provide additional insight into Lean applications. All our employees have one of these. It was very rewarding to see - on the day following giving these to our employees (there was an employee that did not particpate very often in our teams) having The Lean Pocket Guide opened on his bench to the Standard Work chapter. I need say no more!
The Greatest Lean Book Ever Written.......2004-09-04
This is by far the best and most comprehensive book on lean terms and concepts in the market. The group of authors certainly understand and know the ins and outs of Lean. The illustrations, graphs, directions, key points are superbly explained like no other book..and I have read them all. Fantastic job authors!

Customer Reviews:
Way to big.......2007-08-08
This is a text book not a memory jogger. I was serious expecting a 2-10 page foldout or some sort of flowchart.
Good material but a lot more than a memory jogger.
Short, sweet and to the point ..........2007-07-09
This is a great little compendium with lots of practical advice for requirements gathering. I love it.
Handy Reference.......2007-05-07
I went to a conference in Florida and attended a workshop held by Ellen Gottesdiener. She's amazing in person and for a Requirements Management nerd like me, inspiring. She reminds you to use common sense and helps "string" it all together - models, specifications, stakeholder charts, etc. When I found out that this book was available, we ordered it for all our Business Analysts as a quick guide/reference. I use mine to help mentor other Analysts on a daily basis. I recommend this memory jogger if you are accountable for producing requirements and need a refresher or this is your first time. Very helpful and easy to read for all level of Analysts.
Clear, comprehensive, concise, with examples for everything.......2007-04-02
I just got my copy (so it is still available). There is little I can add to the other reviews, other than support them wholeheartedly.
Writing style is very clear. Coverage is comprehensive. Standardized headers, icons, tables, and lists communicate ideas concisely.
Examples, examples, examples ...
One thing that makes this booklet more valuable than many other requirements texts is the wealth of examples. Everything is illustrated through its own realistic well-chosen example. The examples show you exactly what a particular output (model, diagram, text fragment, table, ...) should look like. Not just abstract, generic advice, but instantiated, concrete stuff to prove that you can actually follow the advice.
A good little reference book.......2007-01-05
I switched over from systems development to BSA (business systems analysis) work, and found this book to be a good primer and reference. I'm not sure if it is in print any longer.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent reference.......2006-07-17
excellent reference for the beginner or advanced PM that needs to look up something.
A must-read for anyone who manages projects........1998-11-23
Whether you work on huge, complex, international projects for one of the Fortune 50 or you are putting together a family reunion, you will find something of value in this little book. But don't let either the size of the book (pocket) or the size of the print (small) fool or intimidate you. The ideas are clear and accessible.
These two consultants have written a project management book for our times. Their approach is team-based and collaborative -- particularly useful for those of us who work in organizations that use teams but still think in functional silos -- as well as practical and flexible. Personally, I have always found other project management models to be too complex, too highly delineated, and too quantitative. This approach is logical, fact-based, and flexible enough for me to work the parts that apply and skip the ones that don't.
I highly recommend the book as well as the approach. If you want to get the full benefit of their methodology, bring the authors in for in-house training. That way, the kinesthetic and auditory processors in your organization will "get it" even better.

An Industrial Engineer.......2000-04-21
The Memory Jogger is the ideal handbook for improving job-related procedures, systems, quality, and costs on a daily basis. It conveniently presents the tools in two categories: problem identification tools, and problem analysis tools. It also offers a technnique selection guide according to task. Each tools is presented along with three examples: manufacturing, service/administration, and daily-life situations. It is a very, very useful quick reference guide.
However, the upgraded version, "The Memory Jogger II", has been available for quite some time now, and would be a wiser choice.
Customer Reviews:
Dodger Fan.......2006-11-14
Having over 25 years of management experience and being always on the lookout for great management tools, I do believe this is the best I have found so far. Go ahead and read the books by Welch, Bossidy and Collins -they are full of great ideas. But "Performance Management" outlines how to put all the great ideas into practice. It's very practical and doable. The results are actually usable! Don't let the size or format fool you. This guide is very readable and so reasonably priced that I got one for all the managers in my firm. Highly recommended.

Awesome Book.......2007-03-16
My son Sid and I are having a lot of fun solving word problems. It gives me a lot of happiness solving problem and spending time with my son. Father son time well spent.
Algebra made easier.......2007-02-07
This workbook can really help someone taking or tutoring Algebra. It really can help for even grades 7-8. The explanations are usually clear and have good examples. Sometimes it required re-reading, but that may be because of the difficulty of the subject matter.
Great beginners book.......2006-03-10
My son is really getting a lot out of "How to Solve Word Problems in Algebra". He is understanding the material and applying it to his homework and tests.
Good book.......2005-03-24
I'm very happy with this book. It does just what it promises: teaches kids how to solve word problems in beginning-level algebra. I wish I'd had a book like this when I was in school. It gives detailed explanations which are easy to understand.
