Customer Reviews:
Feng Shui - Simplified!.......2007-07-10
This book makes feng shui easy and fun! Karen Rauch Carter uses the Black Hat style which is a very simple, but effective, form of feng shui. With this book you don't need a compass, pendulum or certified feng shui expert, in order to enjoy the benefits of this timeless art. You'll be able to start making changes to your home, and your life, immediately with the easy to follow instructions that are provided.
Inside, you will find a chapter for each of the 9 sections of the Bagua. Immediate action items and a short summary are provided at the end of each chapter, which can be referred to over and over. Karen will keep you entertained though out the entire book with her quirky sense of humor! She also provides loads of examples and stories of how feng shui can improve your life. I am an antique dealer, by trade, and I own my own business. I can honestly say that after decluttering my laundry room (my prosperity area) and painting it a pretty shade of lavender, I immediately noticed and increase in sales at my shop!
Just A Tip: Make sure you read chapter 12 before you start making changes in your home, the affirmations in this chapter will make all of your actions much more effective!
Well written and easy to understand.......2007-05-20
This is probably on the top five list of good feng shui books that I've ever read. Very informative and easy to understand and follow. It's really put together nicely.
While I do think there is definately something to harmonizing the energy around you, I don't think that moving your stuff is any guaranteed way to bring a certain thing to yourself. I have a love/hate relationship to books like this. I find some really good ideas, and some I think are silly and just don't work. I know that there are other issues involved. -Like what's in a person's birth chart for example. If someone is having a difficult planetary aspect in their money house, then, no amount of moving furniture/furnishings is going to change that aspect. Although, I do think it COULD help the person deal with it better. By moving something, it could represent a shift in how one has arranged or re-arranged their thinking about the problem. So, in that way, I think it could have a beneficial side.
I found many interesting things in this book, for example, in my helpful people/travel section of my home, that's where I already have the computer (World wide web) and I just happened to have a world map there. I found a lot of other helpful information too.
This is a fun and interesting book, and it's not gonna hurt anything to give something a try afterall. Just see what works for you.
Full of facts, well written.......2007-04-12
Excellent explanations and suggestions without getting bogged down in thousands of years of history. Written in 21st century speak with humor and intelligence. The best Feng Shui book in my bookcase (I have a few) -topping Lilian Too's series. Even tells you the anecdote when the sink is in your romance corner!
Rave Reviews for this book.......2007-04-03
I LOVED this book, and I am having so much fun with this, I have completely redecorated my home, using mostly stuff I already had, and all my friends are commenting "What have you done?" "It feels different in here" and "Everything seems to flow better". I hung a cutglass windchime in my missing "family" space to energize the space as recommended, and within minutes my youngest daughter called me. Amazing! And so much FUN! Now I am waiting for my romance energy to imporove!
A lot of Nonsense.......2007-03-19
I purchase several feng shui books and this one was the easiest to understand. However, nothing happened after purchasing several hundred dollars of feng shui items. Instead it seems bad things were happening to me. I junked all the stuff. I think it's total nonsense and more like witchcraft...stay away from it.
Book Description
Here is a timely, comprehensive, and invaluable guide to using offshore investing as a method of asset protection. From evaluating places in which to invest to avoiding offshore scams, this easy-to-understand book provides you with all there is to know about keeping the money you earn.
Customer Reviews:
A Good Start to Looking Offshore.......2007-03-21
This book covers most of your questions and describes the basics for banking and corporations established outside the US. It tries to give you the pros and cons of each type of company and a list of places to look into. While it may not be the only book you'll ever need, it does a nice job of detailing what you'll need and how to go about the process of offshore management of finances and protecting your assets. It would have gotten 5 stars if it had been more recent. Still, its' quite worthwhile compared to what else is out there.
An O.K. book.......2007-01-21
This book lets you understand the fundamentals of offshore investing to protect yourself from lawsuits and avoid unnecessary tax liability. It focuses on the legal way to avoid exposure. This book is worth the money, but nothing outstanding.
Dangerous Advice that could get you in trouble..........2005-03-23
Famous authors of several other books like this one, for example Jerome Schneider, have already been * convicted * of tax fraud and have handed over their entire client lists to the US Government.
There is no legal way of avoiding US Taxes through offshore banks, offshore trusts, or numbered accounts. These things are only good for:
1.) Asset protection
2.) Diversifying investments/access to greater variety of investments
and that's it. Be wary of advice in books like this one if you are using them to avoid taxes.
If you don't like paying high taxes, give up your residency, hand in your passport and get citizenship in a country with lower taxes.
Don't read at your peril.......2004-12-24
If you are looking for a "feel good" book that only gives you the sugar frosting about offshore without warning you about the many pitfalls, then this book isn't for you.
On the one hand, if your interest is learning about the realities of offshore banking and tax reporting for U.S. citizens, etc., the you will find this a good starter guide. It's also chock full of interesting stories based on Mr. Cornez's personal experiences in the offshore havens.
Pretty good book for newbies.......2004-11-25
This is a good book for teaching newbies the basics of how to go offshore, open bank accounts, and (perhaps most importantly) avoid offshore scams.
The book needs to be read in light of recent revisions to the Patriot Act and new currency transfer reporting requirements. Don't even think of going offshore if your goal is to try to hide money from Uncle Sam, since if your particular plan fails it will probably end up being felony tax evasion.

Customer Reviews:
Lots of good info.......2005-03-22
I read this book and liked it. There is a lot of stuff about Florida that I wouldn't have thought to consider when making a decision to move there. There are many differences than other areas of the U.S. For example, most houses don't have a basement, so you better keep that in mind if you need the space. In addition to the practical move information, there is a number of chapters on recreation (Weekend trips, Key West, Parks, Beaches etc). This would probably also be useful to current residents.
Sondra Greer.......2005-01-31
The contents of Farnham's guide is essential for anyone seriously considering relocation. The invaluable information he provides gives the positives and negatives of living in Florida. Read this practical book about day-to-day life in Florida if you're thinking of moving to paradise. Many helpful pointers which has already made my life simpler. Jam-packed with simple, crisp declarative sentences that makes reading the book both interesting and easy.
Great Information.......2005-01-24
I read the book. I've been to Florida. This book has great information.
Customer Reviews:
The Best.......2007-02-09
This is the best book I've found on using NLP in the workplace. It is especially great for sales people. While the book is old, I still recommend it at my seminars.
Ed Rigsbee, CSP, author
"Developing Strategic Alliances"
a GEM, must have book.......2005-11-13
This book explains NLP, in very simple terms, and it could be used in a lot more fields than what is mentioned in the title, for one you can use with the family and children and get superior results as well, use it when you are buying as well. if you have teenagers, they should read it too, it will do them a lot of good.
The most powerful sales book on the market........2002-07-01
I am glad this book is so seldom read.
As a sales manager and professional of 14 years, I regard this as the most potent, career-changing, powerful book on the sales process (interpersonal relationships?) ever produced.
I have recommended this book to my sales people if not utilized for themselves then, for no other reason, to protect themselves from manipulation and control techniques in the marketplace.
This book unveils the secrets of NLP (neuro linguisitc programming) and reveals secrets to establish instant bonding and rapport with others, imbed emotional "anchors" in others, and to control other people in subtle and not-so-subtle ways.
In the wrong hands, I can see these techniques as being devastating and used for evil.
In any salesperson's hands who executes the techniques and learns the methods, it will jump start his/her career or send a sucessful one into overdrive. Handle with care and ethics.
Have You Ever Wondered Why Someone Has What You Don't?.......2002-06-26
Reading this book, I have gained knowledge in how to connect with people. I have also learned how to read them, even if they don't know what I am doing. And it is one of my most favorite hobbies.
As human beings, we are constantly interacting with others. And it is up to us to decide what is going on, and how we can influence our experiences.
This is not about abandoning who you are. This book is your chance to enhance who you are.
You will learn how someone's breathing, their eye directions, and their gestures tell you more than their words. You will have the opportunity to step into their shoes -- see, feel, and hear their experiences, so that you connect with them, on an appropriate level.
As for selling, be that a product, a service, or an idea, when you relate to the person you are trying to sell to, you sell yourself, your idea, your services, and your product.
Everyone does this some time in their lives. We all have a method to change another's desires to fit our own. This book will help you to do this more often, and on a deeper level.
And if you can't find this book, read "Instant Rapport," which focuses upon relationship communication.
A brilliant book from a brilliant neuropsychologist.......2001-03-01
This book should be mandatory reading for MBAs. It's brilliant in that it takes a complex subject and makes it easy to understand. And the technology is incredible. I highly reccommend this book for those in business, management, and for those who sell.

Customer Reviews:
Cheek.......2004-06-21
I never write reviews, but Ms Briles' sheer cheek has made me want to.
The book itself is, well, mildly OK, simply not well enough written to really capture anyone's attention. The explanations about different financial products seem to have been written in a bit of a hurry and not revised. Unless you have a basic financial education, you won't understand much, and if you do, then you won't learn anything new. You'd be much better off reading something by David Bach.
The sheer cheek of the author is the way she logs on to Amazon to review her own book with five stars - twice. I suppose she was worried by the fact that nobody else had posted a review. Well, now I have.
2001 Colorado Book Award Winner!.......2001-10-27
10 Smart Money Moves for Women won the Colorado Book Award--this book is a perfect gift for the Holidays, for graduations and just getting money smart! From the author, Judith Briles
Product Description
On the Money,-now in its fifth year of syndication, is the financial column for C-level executives. Published monthly by American Cities Business Journals, On the Money is a refreshingly candid (and sometimes humorous) look at the stuff that makes the world go around. Now, for the first time, a compilation of C. Stephen Guyer's favorite columns is available in On the Money Journal.
Customer Reviews:
useful and entertaining.......2007-08-09
On the Money Journal by C. Stephen Guyer is a useful and entertaining collection of articles selected from Mr. Guyer's regular column in the Denver Business Journal. The articles deal with a broad spread of money topics, ranging from acquiring and borrowing money to having fun with money, from the amusing - holiday spending and current currency catch phrases to the serious - dealing with taxes and bankruptcy.
Readers ranging from average individuals to financial professionals will all find interesting, current, and helpful information. Small business owners will find good advice, as will CFOs. Home business entrepreneurs and cube dwellers will each benefit from reading this book.
There is a wealth of references to websites for readers who want to delve deeper into the various topics, also regular mail addresses and contact information, including entities such as government agencies and investor research. One can even find a link to the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce where you can learn all about the often mentioned but seldom understood topic of Swiss bank accounts.
The articles are thorough and well researched. The writing style has the clear and sharp characteristics one would expect to find in a respected and widely read business periodical. The information is well balanced, containing both practical knowledge and enough background to fill in all the pieces of the money puzzle.

Give It A Try.......2005-07-16
A Great Book for starters w/ an emphasis on history regarding the investing parity among Black Americans, which includes great footnotes.
W/ a reviewer who posted more than once on this book, I'd say that speaks volumes on why this book deserves attention.

TODAY BLACK FAMILY NEEDS THIS . JUST AS FLOWERS NEED RAIN.IN FACT EVERY FAMILY NEEDS THIS. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE REQUIRE READING IN SCHOOL FOR THE BLACK CHILD AS WELLL AS THE BLACK FAMILY.
Glad its out of Print.......2001-06-07
Only eye opeining data is the life expectancy of Black Men! Otherwise, a waste of Black people money.
Glad it out of Print.......2001-05-30
In the Chapter titled "Smart Tax Moves," Boston urges readers to "stop ignoring the problem" with the IRS and implores them to "Never ignore a notice from the IRS." Yet this author has a history of failing to pay his debts and taxes...
The Best One Yet.......2001-02-22
This book was powerful. It completely changed my life. If you don't believe that you make enough money to invest or build wealth...you are completely wrong. This book walks you step by step on building wealth and investing in your future no matter what your income level is. It is a quick read and easy to follow. I would suggest this for all African Americans young and old.
