I highly recommend Kaplan products to study for NCLEX. This book goes over various strategies which I found very helpful, and contains 2 practice exams. The grammar and syntax of Kaplan practice questions is similar to the questions presented on NCLEX, so you are calm and comfortable when reading the actual NCLEX questions!
If you have any doubts about passing NCLEX on the first try, I strongly suggest you purchase a Kaplan review course. I used the online review course and utilized the question bank, practice exams, and the question trainers to prepare for NCLEX. Their review course costs about $400 but gives you access to over 3,000 questions.
I got C's on my last two med-surg rotations but passed NCLEX with 75 questions. I credit my passing score to Kaplan products (and to St. Jude).

this is a great book. It has great strategies on test taking for the NCLEX. It comes with 2 tests, an online qbank with 27 questions. It has examples on how to break down the questions.

this book is awesome! gives you the strategies to figure out the answers to questions even if you don't really know what its about. i definitely recommend kaplan because they prepare you to pass the nclex the first time giving examples of questions that are similar to the real ones we get on the test.

If you only buy one book I recommend getting this one.

The text is complete and the format of the questions is very similar to the real test.

If you have a particular area that you need to brush-up this book is great too. The sections are divided nicely into 1) Internal Medicine 2) Neurology 3)Obstetrics/Gynecology 4)Pediatrics 5)Psychiatry and 6)Surgery.

Each section has several practice test for you to get your timing down and firmly nail down the most common questions. The explanations are up to date and make sense.

I saw maybe one small typo which was not a big deal.

Kaplan did a real good job with this book.

This book provided some very helpful tips on how to succeed in each of the six subjects, such as how to quickly spot and eliminate wrong answers and what tricks to expect from the test makers on each topic of the six subjects. I'm really glad I read this book and worked through its sample questions and tests!

I have yet to take the MBE, but my initial take on this book is very positive. Although I think it could do a better job of giving a more detailed summary of each of the sections of the test, it does have roughly 50 multiple choice for each section, and each answer (right or wrong) does spell out the black letter law. It also has a full 200-question MBE at the end of the book. To supplement PMBR/Barbri (or even supplant one of them), this may be the best option. For the price, I believe it's money well spent (and what's another forty on top of a hundred thousand anyway?).

This book provides a strategic way to take MBE questions with an intro of what topics are tested within each subject and then an exam tactics section of what to look for in the questions. Then there are detailed answers for each question so you can look to see why the wrong answers are not correct. I would recommend this to anyone preparing for the Bar Exam, my bar study professor recommended to begin using this book our last semester of school before we actually began heavily studying for the exam, it was good advice!

This book is a good supplement to the other "How to get into the top MBA programs." It's a lot smaller and goes much less in depth. I found it was a nice supplement to the other book, but I would not suggest this one as your main source for application tips and strategies.

This is a great book for understanding how the US MBA admission process works. Coming from Africa this book guided me through the whole process of essay writing, GMAT, application and I got admitted into a top 10 US MBA school. I don't think this would have been possible without the knowledge I got from it.

I highly recommend it to prospective MBA students; especially those coming fron outside the USA.

I was only trying to get into one school, it was the only one with the program I needed. It is just starting to make the lists for top 50 business schools. This book was invaluable. It really walks you through all the steps of applying. A few things didn't apply to me but it was all useful. I didn't have the chance to do an interview for a backup school first as it recommends, because I didn't have one. But with this book I was prepared. So, long story short, I got in and even recieved a significant scholarship.

Did Henry Ford actually invent the automobile? Were there actually only 4,000 slaves in the South? Like other reviewers, I've gleaned a lot of very useful information from this test guide, but there are so many errors -- dozens and dozens of them -- that I find myself repeatedly having to seek out other reference sources to verify the facts I am suspicious of. Use this test guide at your own risk.

The innumerable grammar and spelling errors are irritating, but it is the content errors that prompted my first review of a book. This book claims that Isaac, son of Abraham, experienced two name changes: the first from Isaac to Jacob, the second from Jacob to Israel. It goes on to state that Isaac's 12 sons became the 12 tribes of Israel. Any 1st grade Sunday Schooler could tell you how wrong this is. Such a major error makes me suspect the rest of the content. My biggest regret is that I've spent so much time using it as a review guide only to now have to wonder if what I've learned is true.

Overall, I feel this book is the best way to prepare for the CSET. I purchased the online study program and the Cliffs Test Prep and they were okay. Beating the CSET has an entire chapter devoted to stategies on taking the tests, as well as comprehensive outlines for the essay sections. There aren't any practice tests in this book, but memorizing practice tests is NOT a good method to study anyway. Besides, there are practice tests available online for free, if that's your thing. The only other advice I can give for passing the CSET is to take each subtest separately, unless you are exceptionally bright and/or live for stress. Best of luck to you!

This book is definitley informative with lots of information to know. I haven't taken the CSET yet, but hope to pass by studying from this book and other supplements.
I found the book to contain errors that are minor, but then became irritating. The errors sometimes confused me and it got to be very frustrating b/c you weren't sure what was right. Overall, a great book to study from, but have other supplemental books handy as well.

I purchased 4 books to prepare for the CSET and this one was by far the most comprehensive. If you know the info in this book, you will ACE the test. That is one of the problems, however. This book is SOOOOOO detailed that sometimes it's frustrating. However this book, in my opinion was KEY to me passing the test. The other books helped with practice tests, but I mainly studied from this one. Took all 3 tests the same day and passed them all on the first try. Good luck!!

    I found they print of the book isn't practical, pages too closed to each other. It speaks about Windows2000 exploits and tools used to hack into it, while Windows2003 is out from a while; but no one can deny the book had usefull things in it.

    "The Hacker's Handbook" is a comprehensive and entertaining volume on security. It has most of the defining traits of a great book, such as clearly stated goal (authors realize that lots of security books are out there and one needs to differentiate) as well as some unique content on application attacks.

    The book is a technically sound volume, I found very few factual mistakes. I found some interesting content on central auth servers such as radius, which I haven't seen described well elsewhere. Defensive tool info is a bit jumbled and not new. For example, IDS coverage is too non-specific to be useful. I also found a couple of other chapters a bit weak on interesting content.

    The book covers the security field on many levels - from concepts to scripts - and can be successfully used by entry-level people as well as experts. The book is better suited for technologists rather than managers. Security analysts/admins, hands-on security managers, security savvy system and network admins, students of computer security can benefuit from a book.

    I am a computer security consultant and I think this book is great. I found it complete and through. I would highly recommend it. It is like 800 plus pages. I wonder how many keyboards got worn out authoring this outstanding work.

    This will not get you through the bar exam alone, but it's a really good companion piece to other study materials I've found. You may not agree with everything in the book, but the more information the merrier. If you're looking for a cure-all, this is not it; but I do recommend it. There are a couple of other bar related tools that I think are worthy as well:A Lawyer Walks Into A Bar. Also: Barman: Ping-Pong, Pathos, and Passing the Bar

    Dr. Gallagher uses a "unique" style to help us understand where our writing is going astray. The Bar Examiners can be your friends, if you practice writing like a lawyer. Her method is made easy to understand, unlike other techniques which must be read and practiced without any support. Her CD gives helpful advice in general and helps you through the writing process.

    If you can afford to spend thousands of dollars on additional Bar Prep, consider an alternative. Otherwise, try Dr. Gallagher's techniques and you WILL become a better legal thinker and writer.

    I have used the book but have not outlined all the essays--it was good in terms of getting me to know why I failed the bar exam the first time. For me my weaknesses for the bar was essay-writing--I had a high MBE score. Essay writing is crucial and she taught me the proper way to outline. However, in the end you must do the leg work.

    I found this book to be incredibly unhelpful. The author does not offer good strategies for approaching the exam, and includes essays from a range of jurisdictions, which can be confusing at worst and just unhelpful at best. i thought the Adachi books were much better.
