Book Description
This new book - with nearly 200 case studies and 700 radiographs - provides complete information on a full range of pediatric disorders. The book's wide variety of cases, ranging from the simple to the complex, make it ideal as both a study guide for residents and as a reference in everyday practice.
Pediatric Radiology Casebase is divided into nine anatomically based sections, each covering the pathology and radiographic evaluation of common childhood diseases. Throughout, the "self-study" format allows you to make your own diagnosis and compare it to the author's explanation.
Highlights include: - Complete information on pediatric diseases of the cardiovascular, skeletal, nervous, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary systems - Detailed case presentations that explain the decision-making behind each diagnosis - Full coverage of congenital, developmental, and metabolic disorders; pediatric syndromes; and interventional procedures
Written by specialists at the Arkansas Children's Hospital, Pediatric Radiology Casebase is a must for both residents and practicing radiologists.

HIgh yield........2006-09-25
Useful for pediatric residents. High yield. I would advise flipping through a copy though.
Excellent for Board review.......2000-03-26
This book was very helpful for board review and preparation. I believe it does live up to its name as a baby book of "Aunt Minnie's". The diagnoses are classic and discussions succinct. The bibliography is also excellent.
One could use this book as a primary learning tool while learning pediatric radiology, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but a radiologist or a radiology resident. It wouldn't be very helpful for a pediatrician, because the way it is set-up is radiology "boards" style.

Great source of knowledge.......2007-08-02
This is a great resource to complete your preparation of USMLE Step 2 & 3. It will help you to remind the basic diagnostic approach to several illnesses and will be an adequate accesoire while studing each topic.
nice if you have one........2007-06-21
This is a wonderful tool for scoring good on step 2 ck,
The flash cards are really very nice and the content is extraordinary.
I know Conrad and he is a genious in Medicine and all the content in the flashcards is very important for step2 and 3.
Advantage: Good content and short term revision.must know facts.
Disadvantage: Quality of paper is very low it looks like flashpapers and not flashcards.
Excellent.......2007-05-17
Dr Conrad Fisher is the Boss of Medicine. But the book is pretty expensive.
Thanx Dr. Fischer.......2007-05-04
I think this is a most useful resource for studying for those questions on the USMLE that don't have a clear answer. The format is very easy to digest and has great retention rate. You can clasify those flashcards you already know so that you only review those you need to. I sure would like a "treatments" version of the flashcards.
Buy them and memorize everyone of them.

This Guide Will Help You Tame "The Beast".......2006-11-29
Whether you are a graduate student, intern, novice clinician,or a veteran, you know from experience that the DSM-IV-TR is a beast of a book in terms of navigation.
Dr. Fauman has provided a cogent guide to help you tame this beast. What I find most helpful are the clinical vignettes and the way he attempts to tease out over-lapping, and/or mutually exclusive diagnoses. I am using this book (by recommendation) to review for my state's counselor license exam as I was told that this resource would provide more than adequate assistance for this purpose.
The only downside to this text is the price. APA books are just plain bloody expensive, but like anything else, you get what you pay for. The information contained in this book while a tad overpriced, will be worth it in the long-run, I feel.
Invaluable resource in learning the DSM-IV-TR.......2004-10-13
I bought this book as a study aid to assist me in preparing for my counseling licensure exam. I own the DSM-IV-TR but found that it was difficult for me to learn with it because it was so technical. The study guide breaks the diagnoses down into simpler descriptions, gives case examples of clients with the various disorders, and provides study questions to help you evaluate your progress in learning. It goes over important definitions, key diagnostic points and how to make a differential diagnosis. Since using this to study, my confidence in making a diagnosis has increased greatly. I highly recommend this book to any clinician or graduate student.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent study guide.......2004-05-04
This is such a thorough study guide for the diagnostic imaging section of the boards. I used this book along with Yochums book,"Skeletal Radiology" and aced this portion of the boards. I was glad I used this book because it showed me the type of questions asked on this portion of the boards. In fact, about 50% of the part 4 boards is on diagnostic imaging if you count also the post-history and post-diagnostic rooms. The thing about this test that is insane is the short time limit you are given for each question. Without this book, I think I would have failed part IV because I would not know what to expect. I have to say I was a lot more calm when taking the test because I was ready for the type of questions that were being asked. This is a must book for anyone taking the Part 4 boards. It's better than spending well over $1000 plus traveling expenses to take the test again.
Book Description
THE SECTIONAL ANATOMY LEARNING SYSTEM is thoroughly revised and updated with two new chapters including re-drawn illustrations, and new post-tests with images. The system consists of two volumes: a main text and a workbook of applications. A new chapter has been added on the vertebral column and spinal cord. The concepts section of the text now covers sectional anatomy of the entire body. It is organized to correspond to the text chapters. Applications consist of coloring and labeling exercises for over 250 revised drawings of transverse, sagittal, and coronal cadaver sections.
Customer Reviews:
Heaven Help You! If you are required to buy this for a class!.......2007-01-01
This 2 volume set is horrible! The diagrams in the Applications book are vague and confusioning. The way that the Concepts book is written is just terrible it is jumbled and runs together. It is impossible to besure that you are labeling or even answering most of the questions correctly, let alone all of them. Diagrams in the workbook that are totally different then the ones in the Concepts book and you are suppose to label them? correctly? There has got to be something better out there. I can not wait until I am done with this class, I will see if everyone wants to come over to my book burning party!
OK-At best-.......2005-03-07
I had this 2 vol set for a cross sectional course- The pictures were poor quality, the labels ambiguous, and the author had a tendency to be inconsistent with viewing aspect- one image is a sup/inf view, and the very next one is exactly the opposite- and although recognizing the anatomy from different aspects is important, this book did so in such and random, disorganized manner. The orientation went against all of my training as a radiology and ct tech, since the image orientation was not consistent.(the right should ALWAYS be the right, doncha know?) I do not recommend it to imaging professionals, as there are better books out there, but it might be ok for medical students or the like. Overall, I began to despise this book to the point that I gave it away as soon as class was over, and I found myself using other texts and online resources to study, because the book was just too confusing!!
Customer Reviews:
Vascular intervensionalists book of problems and solutions.......2000-11-19
Together with the book by Karim Valji (Vascular and interventional radiology, ISBN 0721670032) this book forms a formidable addition to any prospective interventionalist's library. The book essentially forms two parts. An introduction describing in a review format some common fields of interventional radiology such as lower extremity arterial disease, but also enlightens the user on the highly busy part of interventional radiology - that related to dialysis vascular access and its importance for the dialysist and (no lesse important) for the patient with a dialysis access. The second part of the book describes case stories with appropriate images and narrative content. A few areas seem a little different from modern approach with almost no vascular CT or even mention of multi-detector vascular CT, an important emergent technique. Also - albeit this may be from my lack of familiarity with American settings - a curious case of a patient with a brain abscess is related and the sequelae of that is never really mentioned. In general the book is informative, well written, clear and with a lot of interesting and highly educational examples.
One of the best interventional radiology texts available........1999-07-29
I found this a great book on vascular radiology as a 1st yr resident and an unbeatable resource for the radiology boards. It's easy to read, and easy to learn from. It should be in every radiolgist's personal library!
Book Description
One of the best selling volumes in the Case Review Series is now revised, with all new cases--excellent for honing skills and building confidence! This Second Edition of Head & Neck Imaging affords you a clinical tool that helps speed your differential diagnoses and ensures your proficiency. Organized like the Oral Boards, it serves as a study guide for exams, CAQ and re-certificationand as a personal review of the subspecialty. Here, Johns Hopkins' Drs. Yousem and Motta describe the latest techniques through 200 actual cases and 340 high-quality images. Tightly arranged, the text assures you fast access to information. Self-testing devices throughout validate your comprehension.
Customer Reviews:
expected more.......2007-07-10
Nice collections of cases, great quality pics and good discussion about each disease. But it misses DDx and findings discussion (ok, dr. Yousem has it in a pdf file on his website, but this is not practical). I recommend the case review authors to give a look at Mayo Clinic GI Imaging and Dr. Chew's MSK Teaching Files which are better case books (ok, they're more expensive, but are also more useful).
Head & Neck CASE REVIEWS.......2000-04-12
Useful for getting hold of those difficult to find tips and bits of info not so readily found in reference texts. This book has a friendly style, is quick to use, and as a case review book, gives you a good taste of the spectrum of ENT radiology. It also offers limited but useful references to supplement the short text given for each case.

Customer Reviews:
Do not get this book!!!!!.......2007-02-27
I bought this book to prepare for my mammo boards, knowing the radiography one had some errors but the amount of errors in this one is ridiculous. I am looking to find another book so that I dont fail my boards. If you do get it double check your answers and dont rely on the practice test answers because they are wrong 50% of the time!!!!
Excellent!.......2006-11-06
This book is an excellent review of Mammography. If you are a registered Xray tech, it is very similar to the Radiography Yellow Book.
AWESOME!!.......2006-09-05
I purchased this review book and studied it along with the ACR. Most of the information in the book was on the registry except it lacked pathology and there were a few errors when you took the practice tests in the book. You really had to make sure you reviewed the answers. I got a 90 a my mammo registry!! I highly recommend this book!! I was a self study and was not able to attend any conferences so my information came from this book and the ACR.
Great Study Guide.......2006-07-29
I used this study guide and found the questions and the style of questions very helpful for the ARRT Exam. I used this Appleton and Lange Study guide along with a guide from an initial mammography training conference and had no trouble passing the exam.
Good format, watch the answers carefully........2006-03-23
Overall, the review questions were helpful, but there are several mistakes in this book. Some of the mistakes seemed to be poor proof reading, but many other questions/answers seem to directly contradict the text in the same book. That can be very confusing.
