Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
The static cone penetrometer (CPT) and the piezocone (CPTU) represents the most versatile tools currently available for in-situ soil exploration. Over the last 30 years there has been significant growth and development in the use of CPT and this is reflected in the impressive growth of the theoretical and experimental knowledge on the cone penetrometer and piezocone as well as in the several applications of the test to highly specialised measurements, e.g. seismic, environmental and electrical resistivity measurements. The purpose of this book is to provide guidance on the specification, performance, use and interpretation of the Electric Cone Penetration Test (CPU), and in particular the Cone Penetration Test with pore pressure measurement (CPTU) commonly referred to as the "piezocone test". Recommendation guidelines interpret a full range of geotechnical parameters from cone penetration data and relevant examples and case histories are given throughout the text.
Customer Reviews:

Customer Reviews:
A blessing, a gift, a life-changing experience!.......2003-12-18
This book is a life-changing and life-enhancing source of how to use your God-given gifts...a lesson in God's love for us.
God believes each of us is special and this book shows the reader how to uncover (or re-discover) the gifts God has given that make each of us unique. And useful to God!
It is a blessing and a gift!
A personal mission from a spiritual perspective..........2002-04-20
The LifeKeys program is designed to help people discover their path in life. Whether you are just starting out, in a job you don't really like, newly retired, or just curious about the possibilities, LifeKeys is a great resource for finding out more about yourself and your mission in life.
The authors provide a series of simple tests on interests, spiritual gifts, personality type, values and passions to help the reader discern what God is calling them to. Each activity is simple, although they can be time consuming if done properly.
Many people use this series in a church class: The one I led at our congregation of about 500 members attracted over 30 people to participate. There is a hunger out there for the kind of guidance LifeKeys provides. It is certainly a great program to use in a church context, and the workbook version makes it easy.
LifeKeys certainly is pitched to the Christian community. However, an individual reading the entire text would find it just as easy and rewarding to do on their own.
Develop your own personal mission statement, and use LifeKeys as a guide!
Great resource for groups of soul-searchers!.......2002-04-20
LifeKeys does a relevant and wonderful job of guiding those in search of a clear path in life. Through a series of simple but deep and though provoking tests, LifeKeys sets out to help the reader discover who they are and what God is calling them to do. The tests include interests, values, spiritual gifts and personality type, as well as guidance on integrating the gathered information to write a life mission statement.
There is a hunger for books like these in our society... in our church of about 500 members, over 30 people signed up for the LifeKeys class which I led. The discussion was wonderful, and students left satisfied with their experience.
The only drawback to this workbook: If you are using it to lead a class, plan on spending time reading the whole book before you begin, and more time on class planning. For the individual, simply the "LifeKeys" text is more than sufficient... it has all the materials included in this book. But for a group who doesn't want to make the larger investment in many texts, the workbook is a great resource!
Lifekeys.......2002-03-20
I took the Lifekeys program through my church and found it very refreshing. I've done Meyers-Briggs before and a few other work-related programs, but this added the spiritual dimension of what's really important to me. When work, personality, and spirituality are all combined, one has a stronger sense of who they are and how they can best find purpose. This was a very rewarding program and the book/work book helped tie it all together.
Excellent guide for career, volunteer and life choices.......2000-05-16
LifeKeys guides readers in discovering who they are and how they can find fulfillment in life. The information gained can be applied to any life choices, including career, volunteer and relationship. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn more about themselves or going through a period of change in their lives.

After the Ice Age: The Return of Life to Glaciated North America
ASIN: 0471136220 |
Book Description
At the time of European discovery, the ancient North American forests stretched across nearly half the continent. And while today little remains of this past glory, efforts are underway to bring back some of the diverse ecosystems of that era. America's Ancient Forests: From the Ice Age to the Age of Discovery provides scientists and professionals with essential information for forest restoration and conservation projects, while presenting a compelling and far-reaching account of how the North American landscape has evolved over the past 18,000 years.
The book weaves historical accounts and scientific knowledge into a dynamic narrative about the ancient forests and the events that shaped them. Divided into two major parts, it covers first the glaciers and forests of the Ice Age and the influences of native peoples, and then provides an in-depth look at these majestic forests through the eyes of the first European explorers. Changes in climate and elevation, the movement of trees northward, the assembly of modern forests, and qualities that all ancient forests shared are also thoroughly examined.
A special feature of this book is its self-contained introduction to the early history of Native American peoples and their environment. The author draws on his roots in the Osage nation as well as painstaking research through the historical record, offering a complete discussion of how the cultural practices of hunting, agriculture, and fire helped form the ancient forests.
Customer Reviews:
Forest industry perspective.......2006-09-14
Potential readers of this book should be aware that the author is a forest industry proponent who argues a strongly industry perspective on forest management that is contradicted by the vast majority of scientific research. He has served on the Scientific Advisory Board of National Center for Public Policy Research, a free market think tank that has argued, "There is no serious evidence that man-made global warming is taking place", and "There are many indications that carbon dioxide does not play a significant role in global warming." The book presents an unique view on forest management, but one that is shared by few others.
Excellent Book.......2003-02-24
I found this book to be very well researched and written. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the natural history of our great nation.
Excellent Book.......2003-02-24

Review of Thomas Bonnicksen's America's Ancient Forests.......2001-01-20
This book could have been titled America's Ancient Landscapes. One of the pleasant surprises about this book is that it deals with all types of landscapes: prairies, barrens, savannas, and all types of wetlands, as well as forests. For those of us in the Midwest, who deal with all of those types, this is a great bonus. Bonnicksen gives us the needed background, through the tremendous changes of the ice age and the plant migrations that followed, to the landscape affects of the Native Americans, to be able to knowledgeably manage natural areas, and restorations. The background on the Indians is so very thorough. You can't help but acquire a new impression of how important and ubiquitous their influence was. What I really like about this book is the complete documentation, done in the old fashioned way, with footnotes! The chapter on fire had 317 footnotes, all of which can be looked up in first the Notes and Citations, then in the extensive Bibliography, which alone covers 75 pages! This is a great reference work. If you can't afford it, get your local library to purchase a copy. I did!
Thomas M. Bonnicksen Brilliant Paen to our Ancient Forests.......2000-09-27
Professor Bonnicksen has devoted his career to the care and protection of the forests. Where public relations folks talk the talk, Professor Bonnicksen walks the walk. Ancient Forests is a tour through history, a tour de forest that takes us from ancient lands and brings us to the present day, making us realize that from the forest we came and from the forests we shall go. A member of the Congressional Commission charged with oversight of American forest and land use and a devoted conservationist, Professor Bonnicksen in this brilliant volume brings many of his themes expounded in shorter articles and books together in a densely forested wood of pine and deciduous scented brilliance. After reading this book, no one will pass a tree and look at it the same, ever, again. Kudos to Professor Bonnicksen of Texas A & M University.

After lending the original she had and not having it returned, my wife was heartbroken as she was unable to find a replacement. Found at a fine price on Amazon and very happy. So happy that I purchased another set as a gift.
2007 Version.......2007-04-10
"Life is abundance all around us, and the flowers symbolically show us the reflection of God. All our anxieties can find reassurance as we accept the blessings of the angels. We are guided with each breath we take; and through each heartfelt gaze into a flower, we do indeed hear the voices of the angels." - From the Angelic Messenger Cards companion book
When picturing an angel, you may think of winged cherubs or majestic tall beings that deliver messages and provide aid. According to author Meredith Young-Sowers, symbols and archetypes convey divine guidance to humanity, and one of the most powerful, simple, and exquisite form is through flowers.
Angelic guidance and delicate flowers may seem an unusual pair, but Ms. Young-Sowers harmoniously melds them together in Angelic Messenger Cards. Constructed of 48 cards with vibrant floral photographs by Judi Winall, the author's model of spiritual energy forms the basis of this oracle. There are six aspects to spiritual energy in this template with seven cards related to each of these areas:
1. Reflection - Becoming aware of your divine self
2. Partnership - Growing spiritually in relationships
3. Integration - Establishing an inner harmony among the body, mind, and spirit
4. Alignment - Performing meaningful work that grows from your divinely inspired life purpose
5. Rejuvenation - Participating with nature in the cycles of life for your personal renewal
6. Nourishment - Choosing thoughts, foods, and emotional responses that give you spiritual fulfillment
In addition to the 42 cards from the six areas, Ms. Young-Sowers includes four Wild Cards of Divine Guidance and two Wild Cards of Abundance. In the glossy 220-page, full-color companion book, the author provides a comprehensive explanation of her system, as well as how to gain the most from using the Angelic Messenger Cards.
The companion book provides four sections of material for each card, including:
* Present Challenge - Helps you identify your undercurrent of feelings that has caused you to draw this card
* Angelic Message - A channeled message from Ms. Sowers' guide, Mentor, whose focus and attention is on raising the spiritual energy of individuals on earth at this time
* Spiritual Opportunity - Interprets the flower image on the card you have drawn
* Application - Offers specific ways to further integrate and understand the message of the card
Ms. Young-Sowers does not provide the names of the flowers found on the Angelic Messenger Cards, believing that each bud and bloom offers a wealth of insight based on its color and formation. Through observation, stillness and openness, these delicate messengers can promote spiritual advancement and deliver penetrating insights about ourselves, others, and life.
When I first saw the attractively packaged Angelic Messenger Cards set, I had my reservations about how well it would work as an oracle. I have often received messages from birds, trees, and other elements of nature--but never "tuned in" to flowers (despite admiring them!). And, I couldn't understand what flowers had to do with angels--wondering if such a pairing would seem forced or superficial.
Because Ms. Young-Sowers holistic system offers breadth and depth to the subtle arena of energy, love, and well-being, I began to see how such an oracle could potentially work quite well. To my amazement, when I did two separate one-card draws with this deck, I received uncannily *specific* insight that was directly related to my questions!
Although I've only used the Angelic Messenger Cards for one-card spreads, Ms. Young-Sowers offers other layouts in the companion book, including a six-card "Opening to the Energy of Love Spread". For this particular layout, the author recommends dividing the deck according to the six "suits", then drawing a card from each group. She writes:
"Much like a physical X-ray, the guidance you receive spiritually from [this] spread gives you a means of evaluating your progress in matters that are not so easily measured but are the crucial basis for your health and well-being."
The Angelic Messenger Cards and companion book comes in a lovely, but sturdy, box with a magnetic cover flap, which is great for storing the kit on a bookshelf.
If you love flowers and have an openness to receive subtle, yet specific, messages from both floral intricacies and the angelic realm, you'll likely enjoy the Angelic Messenger Cards lovingly created by Meredith Young-Sowers.

Book Description
The Secret Lives of Alexandra David-Neel is the definitive biography of the explorer Lawrence Durrell called "the most astonishing woman of our time." Alexandra David-Neel was the first European to explore Tibet at a time when foreigners were banned; few have led a life of adventure to equal hers or made so much of it.
In Tibet and Sikkim, David-Neel lived among hermits and shamans while studying first hand the secret mystical practices of Tibetan Buddhism, including out-of-body travel, telepathy, vampiric shamanism, and tantric sex. After returning to France, she wrote more than thirty books, among them My Journey to Lhasa and Magic and Mystery in Tibet. She has had a profound influence on Beat culture and the emergence of American Buddhism.
Drawing from rare source material, including information obtained from the secret files of the India office, Barbara and Michael Foster have written a vividly detailed chronicle-of both David-Neel's quest to conquer her personal demons and of the outer journey that made her one of the most celebrated figures of her day.

A woman explorer .......2005-09-21
Alexandra David-Neel is reputed to be the first Western woman to reach the forbidden city of Lhasa, Tibet. She did so in 1924, a small woman in her mid-50s, disguised as a beggar and accompanied only by her adopted Tibetan son. This was the highlight of a life that lasted until 1969 when she died at age 100.
As the authors point out, however, practically nothing can be said with surety about Mme. David-Neel. One biographer has even claimed that she fabricated the whole story of visiting Lhasa. Probably not -- although she fabricated a lot and was hardly of unimpeachable character. As a matter of fact, although the authors are very respectful of her, she seems a thoroughly selfish, self-centered and repellent person.
David-Neel was a serious student of Buddhism and wrote many books on the subject. One of the juiciest parts of the book concerns the question of whether she participated in group Tantric sex rituals. The authors conclude she probably did.
David-Neel's religion had nothing to do with morality, and it seems unlikely that she ever found inner peace from her Buddhist rituals as she suffered from an endless variety of mental and physical ills. Still, living to be 100 is quite an accomplishment...
Alexandra David-Neel was an opera singer, a hardy and determined traveler, a student of religion, a writer, and a public figure of some note. Some of her papers are still unreleased so the final word about her character and achievements is still to be said. In the meantime this is an entertaining and well-researched biography.

Read Alexandra's own 'My Journey to Lhasa'.......2002-12-24
The best chapters of 'The Secret Lives of Alexandra David-Neel:'
owe much to Alexandra's own account of her journey to Lhasa. Her own books are wonderful to read, all of them , but in particular her 'My Journey to Lhasa' Beacon Press republished it as a paperback in 1993, ISBN 0-8070-5903-X
I can guarantee you will have a most enjoyable read.
Fascinating Biography.......2001-11-01
It is my great pleasure to let Amazon readers know about the exploits of Alexandra David-Neel, the explorer of Tibet, which the Fosters chronicle so vividly in the biography, THE SECRET LIVES OF ALEXANDRA DAVID-NEEL. This bio reads more like a novel or adventure tale due to the wonderfully-detailed scenes with such authentic touches I felt as if I were truly there, and often worried about David-Neel's ability to survive. Obviously the Fosters have done their research incredibly well and write graceful, lucid prose; I was captivated from the first sentence and actually resented having to put down the book to take care of chores. This is is one of the best biographies I have ever read. The story cries out to be told visually on the big screen.
Unique Woman Explorer at Turn of Century.......2001-09-16
Little known crossdressing Victorian Frenchwoman undertakes a dangerous journey of discovery in forbidden country disguised as a monk and lives to tell her tale to the world. Thoroughly well researched, and well crafted The Secret Lives of Alexandra David-Neel is the biography of a remarkable woman. A woman born to the mannered and circumscribed Victorian era who chose to strike out on her own initiative to explore the spiritual secrets and she was among the first Europeans to report about it from inside to the rest of the world.
I found it a fascinating read about a remarkable woman of whom I knew nothing, a woman who accomplished amazing things in her life. I recommend this biography by Barbara and Michael Foster to anyone interested in tales of high adventure in exploration, in the golden age of exploration and of unknown exotic lands. If the story of resolutely fearless woman pursuing her dream of exploring Forbidden Tibet whets your appetite I recommned you read this well crafted biography. I can recommend it without reservation. WOW!!!!!.......2007-02-27
This book was HIGHLY recommended to me by a speaker at a conference on "communication." She said the book was "life changing" for her. This is one of the BEST books I've read in a long time. In its pages I saw myself: the ineffective ways I think, react, respond, and relate to others. But more than that, the author gives great tools for changing those negative thoughts and behaviors. I've seen fairly dramatic changes in my way of thinking and behaving. I logged on to Amazon to buy this book as a gift for several friends!
One of the best self-discovery books available!.......2005-11-24

Positive & encouraging; thorough; gently guides you to see yourself objectively; provides effective methods for changing stubborn habits. Very effective material, for young adults to seniors!
Important review of self.......2000-12-14
I have read the book 3/4 of the way and had to return it to the owner. I now have purchased my own. This is a down to earth book Thanks for such a direct and important way to look at ourselves and our human trends.
Very insightful.......2000-06-05
This book was wonderful, I loved it. It is full of exercises that give insight into our behaviors and personalities. The author offered effective ways to deal with anger and other negative emotions. It is a great tool to learn more about yourself and to grow in a more positive direction. It also provides valuable teaching tools for a therapist to use with clients.
