We purchased this book because of the otherwise excellent works of the author. Unfortunately, this is a weak story with strained narration. Stick with the Pig version, the Mouse will only let you down.

This short book was such a favorite in our house when the kids were small, it fell apart. It was a read-aloud for the most part, but also helped the children recognize words.
They memorized the wonderful story, and could then recognize the words as we read together.
It's a repetitive tale, but cute in the same way as Seuss stories, and my kids loved it just as much.
I'm at long last trying to trim the picture book collection down from several hundred volumes, and this one is not going anywhere, I'm afraid. The children, even in their teens, can't part with it.
A real classic.
If You Give a Child a Good Book..........2007-05-24
...he/she will enjoy it for years. I purchased this book after a co-worker highly recommended it. My child was an infant at the time, and although the book has a recommended age range of 4 to 8, I read it to her anyway. It was of course over her head, but I highly enjoyed the story myself - which is almost as important as the child enjoying the book, right? My girl is now approaching three years old and she enjoys the book as much as I do. It's fun to follow the story as the simple act of giving a mouse a cookie escalates into an endless cycle of giving the mouse other things he requires as a result of the cookie gift. It's a silly, lighthearted tale and the illustrations are fun. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie will surely be a family favorite for years to come, and I'm glad I purchased the hardcover version since it's likely to be passed down to the next generation.
Very enjoyable story.......2007-05-15
I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr. old grandson and was immediately his favorite book to read at bedtime. My daughter is now having to read it to him 2-3 times before it is lights out. In fact, even yesterday during the day, he wanted it read to him. It is a great book.

IF You Give A Mouse A Cookie is wonderful book. It talks about what the mouse like to do in the story. what he likes to do is ask for cookies and milke , and he likes to keep on asking for things. I like this book so much and I hope you too.

Quick Read Can Make a Diffference in Managing Email.......2007-09-26
Taking cue from The One Minute Manager, Zapp!, Fish! and Who Moved My Cheese?, The Hamster Revolution uses a parable to show how to better manage and organize e-mail and information. The hamster represents people endlessly running on the wheel of e-mail. Right away, I start using concepts from the 90-minute book. Considering I'm an organized person, that says something.
In the story, Harold the Hamster receives a visit from an information coach to help him with e-mail and information management. Harold is a person who turned into a hamster because e-mail and information trapped him on a figurative hamster wheel.
Harold and his coach think aloud as they explore his e-mail habits and inbox to find the problem areas. The banter between the two gives the reader insight into why something doesn't work and how to fix it. Their comments mirror what many of us think when we're drowning in messages. Though cheesy at times, the story quickly explains the how, what, and why without confusing readers with dry writing.
I was eager to discover the secret of COTA, the concept for creating folders named Clients, Output, Teams and Administration. COTA also represents the order of priority. The Clients folder receives top honors on the hierarchy than Output. Administration gets thrown to the bottom of the pile where it belongs. But this concept isn't as foolproof as the authors make it sound.
They state that you won't run into a situation when an email or document belongs in two folders. However, if that should happen -- then the document belongs in the one higher up on the COTA ladder. Furthermore, the system serves departments and teams best.
COTA won't work well for personal use (the authors apparently have another system for this, but information isn't available yet) or a small business like mine where I'm a freelancer working on a computer that houses both business and personal information.
Furthermore, not everyone will know what some things mean such as EOM (end of message) or NRN (no reply needed). These require teaching others and a team setting would adapt to that better than a lone person who must explain it in many individuals. EOM and NRN should become as standard as smilies, but they're far from there.
Some advice might sound common sense or old news to some people, but the authors share lesser known or new concepts. The book has had positive impact on my e-mail habits, and for what it is worth, that opinion comes from a long-time e-mail user (the days of BBSes -- pre-Internet).
Great new tips for email.......2007-06-20
Purchased the audio tape for the car. Easy listening and great tips on productivity for managing email overload. Makes you think before you send an email, sculpt it, use categories for easier identification/prioritization and shows new system for filing and finding anything anytime. It worked for me and can warmly recommend to everybody! Join the Hamster Revolution!
I want my 90 minutes back........2007-06-13
If you have any system of organizing your email already in place, don't bother reading this book.
First of all, this book is written in a "For Complete Morons" "Who Moved My Cheese?" style which I found to be a complete turn-off.
The first half of the book tells you what's wrong with your email style, which is news only to those that don't know how to conduct business communication in the first place. "Is the content of your email appropriate and professional?" I should hope so. Then it goes on to say you should convert your coworkers to the wonderful time-saving methodologies you've learned in this book, and direct them to the book web site. Any student of human nature can tell you, you can't really force anyone to do anything they don't want to do, you can only set an example and hope that they want to emulate it. If you are the boss, I suppose you can order people to follow the guidelines in this book, but otherwise it suggests giving your peers critiques of what's wrong with the email they've been sending you, a technique that's sure to make you near and dear to their hearts.
The second half of the book, which I eagerly anticipated, makes suggestions, then breaks its own rules, resulting in a confusing set of directions that aren't ultimately very useful. For example, the book states that you should be able to sort any email you receive into one folder, without wasting time deliberating over the decision between folders. You are supposed to organize your emails into Clients, Output, Teams, and Admin folders. If something falls into two folders, for example, some Output for a Client, it goes into the first folder in the COTA order-- the Client folder. But when would you ever create output that doesn't have a Client? And Clients in this case includes external AND internal customers. If your organization has a lot of output that isn't created FOR anybody, you have bigger problems than email.
Some of the other suggestions are obvious but presented as epiphany, such as, use subfolders within the COTA folders. Has it ever occurred to you that you could use email subfolders? Does your organization already use instant messaging for asynchronous messages? Guess what, you don't need this book.
In a FAQ at the end of the book, there is a tip that was not new to me, but which has worked for me. Turn off your email notifications (popups, sounds, etc.) and check your email about twice a day for a dedicated block of time. Otherwise every time you receive an email, you are interrupted from your flow of work.
What will happen with email? It is indeed a growing problem, I can't argue with that. I hope that Outlook develops better search technology, like that embedded in GMail. If you are one of the many Outlook users, you know that when your folders reach a certain size, an advanced search can take 15 minutes or more. However, creating a new folder structure isn't likely to do much for you, except cost you the time it takes to reorganize all of your mail.
A must-read for everyone who uses email.......2007-05-28
Getting overloaded with emails over the last 3-4 years. So decided to buy some books on the subject to improve. Bought 3 books from Amazon - Emails, Conquer Your Email Overload and Hamster Revolution. Find Hamster Revolution the best. I can see Hamster in me with over 500 emails in my in-box and having problems in relocating some of the infor later. This book is NOT about how to use Outlook. What I like is the story-telling method the authors used to bring across, otherwise a dry and technical subject, with interesting, lively and useful ideas. Strategy 1 is an eye opener for me. So simple and yet so useful ! Find it so enlightening and useful that I am thinking of asking the company to engage them for an in-house workshop ! Well done, guys !

Perfect for a graduate -- preschool through Ph.D........2007-09-13
Today I found a rare thing -- a book that would be an excellent graduation gift whether the grad in question is departing preschool or university. It's "Mahalia Mouse Goes to College," by John Lithgow (Harvard Class of `67), illustrated by Igor Oleynikov.
When I taught juniors at Penn State this spring, I discovered they believe children do not like books that contain vocabulary beyond their ken. I argued that encountering new words might increase children's vocabulary and thus be a good thing, and they agreed but claimed that kids often don't like what's good for them. True enough, and if you share my students' conviction, then John Lithgow's books -- which include "The Remarkable Farkle McBride," and "Marsupial Sue" -- are not for you.
If, on the other hand, you think kids get a kick out of mastering words like wisteria (rhymes with cafeteria), allayed (rhymes with paid), and zoology (rhymes with psychology), then Lithgow's rollicking texts will appeal to you. In this case, it's not only the wordplay that is fun. Lithgow has written a parable about the ruthlessness involved in leaving home in order to achieve greater things.
Lithgow's opening lines, coupled with Oleynikov's grim, rain-soaked illustration, evoke an almost Dickensian mood. Or maybe they were shooting for Lemony Snicket? Anyway, the story begins:
"The skies of September were bursting with rain
Pelting the old dormitory
It filled every gutter and choked every drain
Chapter 1 of Mahalia's story."
As if the rain weren't bad enough, Mahalia's mother, consumed by sorrow, sends her daughter out foraging, warning that things are so dire "the babies may die." Dutifully, Mahalia departs, is attracted by the smell of cheese in a college student's backpack, finds herself zipped inside, and next thing you know is entranced by a lecture that "concerns the behavior of atoms in space/Their collisions and fissions, their motion and pace."
The dying babies are forgotten, and Mahalia enrolls in college where she excels not only academically but at extracurriculars like squash and, briefly, square dancing.
The story ends in a hail of confetti and sunshine on graduation day with Mahalia and her family reunited -- the babies, apparently, having survived. It's a great story with just the edge of poignance that accompanies one generation's outstripping its predecessor.

Mahalia Mouse Goes to College is a wonderful book, written by John Lithgow. It comes with a cd of the author narrating the story which is great. The illustrations are vivid and bring the story to life. The story is about a mouse that goes to college. This book is a dedication to the Harvard graduating class of 2005. John Lithgow was the guest speaker at that commencement and having had a son in that class of 2005, this was a must have book for my Harvard graduate as a keepsake which he can share with his children some day.

This is the cutest book to read to children of all ages. It is a great read for an adult. If you went to a college class you will certainly appreciate how this little mouse attends the college classes. It also comes with a CD.You will love this book. I highly recommed it.

This is an enchanting story full of magic intertwined with real world truths, evil step "uncles", hardened rats, and uncaring employers as well as a heroic mouse, and a charming princess. I think it would be an enjoyable read aloud for younger students and a fine diversion for adults and everyone in between. You can take what you want from this book, a simple light fairy tale or as a journey into a philosophy of light and dark. I disagree with the reviewers who felt that the princess was portrayed as good only because of her beauty. The author clearly lets the readers know that the princess possesses far greater attributes, such as kindness and empathy, which give her an inner light that far outshines any physical beauty she possesses. In the end, light prevails because the main characters, Princess Pea and Despereaux have exhibited both hope and love. But, as I mentioned before, you can make what you will from this captivating tale. I found it very enjoyable and hope to read more by this talented author.
Loved the mouse, not the story.......2007-09-11
Despereaux is an endearing character and the story starts out excitedly with his adventures. It goes downhill from there. There is little to endear all the other characters (besides Despereaux) in the book to anyone. They're all terribly stupid, cruel, lemmings, or simple. And there is no sympathy for anybody. I was not at all enchanted with the plotline, nor how their stories came together.
I really wanted to love this book, I savored reading it and put it off for years looking forward to it. But after reading it, I was unfortunately disappointed in the tale. I would have to alternatively recommend highly, as another reader did, the REDWALL series, and POPPY. And STUART LITTLE or CHARLOTTE'S WEB.

I really did not like this book very much because I don't like to read about people dying. It was also hard to tell sometime what was a dream in the book and what was really a part of the story. I think it was confusing to read sometimes. I liked the characters of Despereaux and Princess Pea. I also like reading about Miggery Sow when she was little, but I didn't like her when she got older.
Well written, but not light hearted.......2007-07-03
This is a well written story and very quick to read. Each chapter isonly a few pages long. Making it ideal for kids or are just graduating from their first chapter books into longer books. Desperaux is a mouse with a dream, he is in love with the Princess Pea and due to his innate ability to read and appreaciate a story about a knight, he envisions himself as Pea's knight in shining armor.
Which by the end of the book is ends up b eing, in his own mouse way.
The characters have a sweetness to them, but they all have a great sadness to them as well, it is a darker story than I was originally anticipating from just the story synopsis. While things all get resolved in the end it still isn't exactly a happily ever after.
Beautiful Tale of Strength.......2007-06-30
Every now and then I come across a story that just brings a smile across my face, a story that is heart warming and classic. Kate DiCamillo's The Tale of Despereaux is one of these stories. The complete title is The Tale of Despereaux: Being the story of a mouse, a princess, some soup, and a spool of thread. It's perfectly illustrated by Timothy Basil Ering.
DiCamillo opens her story with the following beautiful passage:
"The world is dark, and light is precious.
Come closer dear reader.
You must trust me.
I am telling you a story."
And she proceeds to do so. Despereaux Tilling is the only surving member of his mothers litter. His ears are too big, his body is too small, and he is very un-mouselike. Instead of munching on books, Despereaux would rather read them. He reads a fantasy tale of a night in shining armor who rescues a princess and falls in love and then meets his own princess...and he falls in love with her. But he socializes with her when he is not supposed to and is rejected by the other mice. Meanwhile, we meet a rat who loves the light when he should only love the dark of the dungeons, and we meet a young girl named Miggery Sow who has never been asked what she wants and has been rejected and abused by everyone she has known.
What DiCamillo has given to children and adults alike is a story of overcoming boundaries. This is a powerful book. It is a book of finding strength in times of hopelessness, of finding light when there is only darkness. She doesn't sugar coat the world for her young readers. She admits that there is evil in the world and she acknowledges that open faced. But she offers a beacon of hope to youth who can relate to those characters. She teaches us what empathy is in this book, and paints that picture of seeing a situation from a certain person's viewpoint well.
This was a beautiful book and highly entertaining. I was so happy to read a book that faced issues full force and handled them appropriately. As a counselor, I can see this book being used in a therapeutic way as well, and I'm sure it has been. I look forward to reading more of DiCamillo's work. There was an excerpt from The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane at the end of this book, and I think that may be the next book I read of hers.

Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse is good for all ages. Lilly, a cute little mouse, loves her new teacher, Mr. Slinger. She goes shopping and gets a new purse. She can't wait to show Mr. Slinger her new gifts. She is a little too excited and gets in trouble. In this book Kevin Henkes is very descriptive and creative in the writing and the pictures. It pulls you in and you can't wait to find out what's going to happen next. The problem of the story and how it resolves itself is very interesting. Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse is a wonderful book.

My daughter really enjoyed this book. We purchased this and Chrysanthemum and she loves both. I have read these over and over again. This is a cute tail about Lily and her new toy and how she gets in trouble trying to show off her toys in class. It has wonderful detailed artwork and the storyline is very enjoyable.

I read the book Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. The reason I would recommend this book is so people could decide if they like it even though I didn't. I didn't like this book because Lilly was mean. In the book I read that Lilly was writing mean stuff to her teacher just because the teacher took her stuff away when she wasn't supposed to have it in school. This convinced me that it was not a good book.

Overall, Redwall by Brian Jaques is a pretty good book, however, it does have a few flaws. The book manages to have an exiting fantasy world for the most part. Although it contains a few clichés (chosen one, special magical sword, great war between two factions), it takes some thinking to notice, and will probably not interfere with enjoyment of the plot. The characters are enjoyable to read, and their traits are shown through both actions and words, and although they are animals, they almost seem like real people. The main villain, Cluny, is stereotypically evil, especially with his threats to his own army. However, the schemes and mindgames involving him make him interesting to read. There is one glaring problem, however: The rats as a whole are depicted as an evil race. There is not even one "good" rat. To me, this is accidental racism, and suggests that being born one way is destined to be evil. It would have been nice to see some of the rats break away and maybe try to join Redwall, and maybe some mice to break away, some of them to Cluny's army. If you want a book that is fun, but not thought-provoking, Redwall can be a good book for you.

This book was pretty good. It's not the best Redwall book but it's still pretty awesome. It's got lot's of action and battles, the bad guy's cool, and the storyline is interesting. The only problem is all the singing and politeness the good guy's do, it's just stupid!. Plus the hastle they go through to get this dudes sword is annoying. The battles are cool, and all in all this book is good.

This is an extremely well written book with wonderful and vivid characters. Brian Jacques creates a unique world where animals walk around much like humans do. The characters are well developed and he gives each one it's own unique personality.
The problems I have with this book, minor as they may be is number one the violence. In a book that's intended for kids eight to fifteen it's extremely violent. There are tons of animals dying right and left and some of them die in a very violent and horrible way. I found it annoying that Brian Jacques would create a lot of time creating all these wonderful characters and then kill them off a few pages later. Why did you take so much time to introduce several characters that you were just going to kill off in twenty pages.
There is no swearing in this book that I can recall and if you have a kid or adult that doesn't mind a little violence then this is a wonderfully written book.
I loved the character Matthias (the hero mouse).... he is everything a true hero should be. I also loved the main villian Cluny.... he is everything you would want from a true evil rat!
Overall a great book.

Redwall, is a surprisingly powerful ride through a crisis set upon the Redwall Abbey and its inhabitants by an evil rat named Cluny the Scourge and his plundering minions. It features one great hero and many other ones who all take part in each other's salvation and friendship. Mattias mouse is the hero at the center of it all and he spends the book bringing unlikely allies together while rushing headlong to meet his destiny.
Redwall is written, by Brian Jacques, in a manner that clearly fills out the reader's imagination with visuals and sound that leaves no stone unturned. Every word comes to life. While clearly a children's story, the author pulls few punches, so if a parent wishes to coddle their child from the realities and consequences of life, the characters who die in Redwall often meet gruesome ends, will want to steer clear. Stories like this are a good way to introduce children to the life and death that they might face growing up. It also covers the ideas of tolerance, the value of friendship, and standing up to injustice. Redwall is an adventure story more than anything and it is quite exciting while it lasts. It doesn't let up from start to finish, so children are sure to enjoy the swashbuckling adventures of Mattias, Constance Hedgehog, Jess Squirrel, Basil Stag Hare, Warbeak Sparra, and many more. Highly recommended for young and old alike.

I was a little skeptical about reading this book at first. I thought a bunch of rodents fighting against each other would be a bit boring. I kept this book for a long time before I finally got around to reading it. Boy was I happy I did!
It is a story about a mouse named Matthias. He is a bit clumsy and awkward. He lives a Redwall Abbey and everything there is quiet, happy and peaceful. That is until word of Cluny the Scourge and he army were coming to Redwall. He is an evil, villianous rat who is set on destoroying everything in his way and taking control over the abbey. Matthias steps up and becomes the warrior the abbey needs in order to protect themselves. But first they need to find Martin the Warrior's sword. Can they find it in time to save everyone from the clutches of Cluny and his army?
*A note to young readers & their parents: this book does have a good amount of violence and deaths. Please consider whether your child will be able to handle this kind of content.

"Ralph!" cried his frightened mother, "you haven't been associating with PEOPLE!" That may seem a rather unfriendly thing to say, but Ralph is a mouse. And people are...well..the enemy. Aren't they?
But Ralph has discovered a boy named Keith who can understand his language (and vice versa). Ralph has also discovered Keith has the most fabulous, fantastic, mouse-sized motorcycle, and Ralph is crazy about it. To Keith it is a small, motorless, favorite toy. To Ralph it is the real thing!
And so the secret friendship blossoms: Keith loves Ralph and Ralph loves Keith's motorcycle, which Ralph is allowed to borrow to become involved in all kinds of dangerous (for a mouse) and fun adventures and misadventures. You'll chuckle all the way through.

I highly recommend this book Mouse and the Motorcycle. This is a book parents read to their younger kids, and you will most likely love this book. This book is about a kid and a mouse named Ralph. The kid's name is Keith. He is going to the Mountain Inn in room 215 and Ralph lives in there too. Ralph becomes friends with Keith. Keith decide to let Ralph ride a toy motorcycle and Ralph is only allowed to ride the motorcycle at night. Ralph's family needed food one day and Keith was so nice to give Ralph half of his P.B.J sandwich.
Beverly Cleary is such a good writer. Beverly also wrote the Ramona books. If you like Ramona books you would also be in love with Mouse and the Motorcycle.

The story The Mouse and the Motorcycle is about a family that moved into a new house. A mouse lives in there to. Late at night the mouse snuck up to the little boy's room and woke up the little boy by accident. The boy told the little boy told the mouse that he will not tell the mom nor dad the mouse was not living in the house. The mouse did not know the family had a pet cat.
The mouse asks the little boy if he can sit on the motorcycle. The little boy said "yes". The mouse pretended it was a really motorcycle and then the motorcycle started moving but when you stop making the Rrrrrrrrrrmmm. The noise stopped the motorcycle stopped.
You will have to find out what will happen next by reading the book.

The Book Review of the Mouse and the Motorcycle
Keith would have never expected what was going to happen on his trip to see more of the United States. His dad eventually got sick of driving and they stopped at a hotel for a few days.
This phenomenal book The Mouse and The Motorcycle by: Beverly Cleary. Is an amazing story about a mouse getting to use a kid's toy motorcycle. It is very funny and there are always parts to surprise you. Like parts when an owl tries to eat him and there is cats and also dogs he has to survive from. Also Ralph has to get a pill the one that killed one of his family members a aspirin. Because Keith has a head ache.
The theme of this phenomenal story is the mouse gets to ride Keith's motorcycle. Ralph eventually loses the motorcycle and has to get it back before Keith leaves to see more of the U.S. Ralph gets put down a hamper and almost eats a whole shirt and then he sees the bike but he could not reach it.
In this amazing book there are two main characters Keith the boy and Ralph the mouse. Keith is a very good boy with toy cars and motorcycles. Ralph is mostly naughty and loves the motorcycle. But a lot of unexpected things happen to these two in this amazing story.
This amazing story takes place in an old hotel where a family stops while going to show their son Keith the United States. This hotel is very old hotel which very little people stop at. Including that two old people run the place.
If you want to see what happens to Ralph and Keith's bike read the rest of the book to find out. That is why I think you should read this unforgettable book.

My daughter is one, so she is a little young for the target demographic of this book. She does however really enjoy it. This book is played with multiple times a day. She enjoys turning the large pages and lifting all of the flaps. My only qualm with this book is, that although it is large in size, it is not have many pages. Overall though a great book and I'm sure my daughter will enjoy it even more when she is old enough to really interact with it.

Our 11 month old loves flap books and true to its title, this one is big. It's a little harder for her to turn the pages but with all those extra flaps on each page, it's a decent trade-off.

My daughter can't get enough of this book. She could sit in front of it all day long, opening all the flaps and staring at all the details in the pictures. She is on a real Maisy kick, so I knew she would love it, but I had no idea how much. Three months after I first got it for her (she is 21 months now), I still know that it will hold her attention when I pull it out. That's a valuable tool for the mother of an active toddler!

My 2 year old loves Maisy! I got this book for him a year ago, and it is still a favorite. He has been able to tear some of the flaps off, like most of his flap books. Nonetheless we love the large size, bold colors, lots of flaps, simple images - a great buy!

Mrs. Frisby, a widowed mouse with four small children, is faced with a terrible problem. She must move her family to their summer quarters immediately, or face almost certain death. But her youngest son, Timothy, lies ill with pneumonia and must not be moved. Rats are better than you think!.......2007-10-06
This is such a wonderful book! We read it to our children when they were little, and they loved it. Now that we are retired and reading to each other at night, we decided that was one book we needed to revisit. Needless to say, we're glad we did. We loved it just as much the second time around and highly recommend it to children and parents!
Spectacular and timeless.......2007-09-10
The Rats of NIMH is a spectacular and timeless story for all ages. Re-reading it at the age of 25, after at least 12 years away, it was better than ever. O'Brien's prose is masterly, and there's not a hint of anything unneeded. One of my favorite books, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is a book for everyone.
Rats that Outsmart People.......2007-08-02
"Super Intelligent Rats Escape NIMH Laboratory" could have been the news bulletin. It wouldn't have been disclosed, of course, that the LABORATORY rats had outsmarted their imprisoner. And though they come to live in luxury under a country rosebush, they are not entirely free. Should they ever leave evidence about of their intelligent behavior, the laboratory is sure to hear of it.
To Mrs. Frisby, a widowed FIELD mouse, only these book-reading, machine-using rats can help her out of a desperate situation. But as NIMH closes in on them, it is Mrs. Frisby who has a chance to help the rats.

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is a good book. I enjoyed reading it. I would recommend this book to anyone. Mrs. Frisby's son is sick, and something is coming up and it is not that good...if he is sick. There are four children, Teresa, the oldest, Martin the next but the biggest of the four, and Cynthia the youngest and Timothy. THe farmer is why Mrs. Frisby and her family have to move, becasue when the frost melts the famer will plow. Jeremy helped Mrs. Frisby by bringing he to the owl, which can help because he has been there longer than anyone can remember, and so the owl helped. So they figured out the moving problems with Timothy.
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh.......2007-06-01
I enjoyed reading Mrs.,Frisby and the Rats of Nimh. This book was funny,and very interesting. it was about a mouse family, the Frisbys', who are taken care of by their mother, Mrs.Frisby. She is very terrified about moving day this year, because her son, Timothy is very sick, to sick to move. She struggles along the way, to find somewhere and someway to move before the plow comes, and destroys their house. Along the way, she meets many new friends, and she discovers that there is someone who can help: the Rats of Nimh. She becomes friends with the rats of Nimh, and does so many things, and goes through a lot of trouble, to save her son, Timothy. It is interesting to hear all of the things that animals have to say, and that rats can make a home out of a rosebush. I thought it was a good book, and I give it four stars.
