It doesn't cover every aspect of real-time PCR, but addresses the most practical aspects of the techniques with the emphasis on 'how to do it in the laboratory'. This is a good guide for getting started; I highly recommend it to graduate students or others diving into real time for the first time. It's also nice to have around as a reference when you start something new or need a refresher on data analysis and interpretation. I'm glad I bought it.

This is by far the best compendium of RT-PCR protocols I've seen thus far. Many such protocol books lack the detail necessary to repeat the experiments and leave many aspects to guesswork, which is time-consuming and expensive. The protocols delineated in this book are quite detailed, and serve as a good basis for most aspects of RT-PCR.

Best PCR manual there is!.......2000-09-20

I have used two different protocols from this book, 1, RACE-PCR and 2, mutagenesis.These two methods were described very well, both theoretically and practically. The protocols were described in detail, were easy to follow, and they work! I'm sure that the other protocols in this book also work equally well. If you do PCR, you need this book!
