Book Description
Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry, 3rd Edition (COMC-III), is aimed at the specialist and non-specialist alike. It covers the major developments in the field in a carefully presented way with extensive cross-references.
COMC-III provides a clear and comprehensive overview of developments since 1993 and attempts to predict trends in the field over the next ten years. Applications of organometallic chemistry continue to expand and this has been reflected by the significant increase in the number of volumes devoted to applications in
COMC-III. Organic chemists have edited the volumes on organometallic chemistry towards organic synthesis - this is now organized by reaction type so as to be readily accessible to the organic community. Like its predecessors, COMC (1982) and COMC-II (1995), this new work is the essential reference text for any chemist or technologist who needs to use or apply organometallic compounds.
Also available online via ScienceDirect (2006) featuring extensive browsing, searching, and internal cross-referencing between articles in the work, plus dynamic linking to journal articles and abstract databases, making navigation flexible and easy. For more information, pricing options and availability visit www.info.sciencedirect.com.
* Presents a comprehensive overview of the major developments in the field since 1993 providing general and significant insights.
* Highlights the expansion of applications in organometallic chemistry with a strong organic synthesis focus.
* Provides a structured first point of entry to the key literature and background material for those planning research, teaching and writing about the area.

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Thanks very much!.......2007-07-05
It's a great edition of the book, and I appreciate it very much! I'm very happy with the shipping and condition of the book, and it was great overall!
not the product I ordered.......2007-04-03
I wanted to order the book, but when I recieved it, it was the wrong edition! Thanks for the honesty!
Well Written.......2007-01-05
The book was used for 90% of my class. It well written for the student with little exposure to chemistry. The pictures and diagrams could have better depicted the subject matter. The price was $40 less than what my college bookstore charges. Great value.
Excellent Textbook.......2006-04-19
This is an excellent textbook for a two semester course in General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry for Health Professions. It does a very good job of explaining the concepts of General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry. It also has excellent applications on disease processes and pathophysiology. The organization of each chapter is a plus. I highly recommend this textbook. It is number one!
Excellent Book on Physiological Chemistry.......2006-03-05
This book is exactly as described by the publisher. A very readable overview of general and organic chemistry. A comprehensive study of the organic molecules and chemical processes specific to the human body.
I liked this book so much that I'm ordering a hardcover copy to replace my original paperback edition.
Book Description
This text uses a more brief and qualitative approach to present biochemistry with chemical rigor, focusing on the structures of biomolecules, chemical mechanisms, and evolutionary relationships. It is written to impart a sense of intellectual history of biochemistry, an understanding of the tools and approaches used to solve biochemical puzzles, and a hint of the excitement that accompanies new discoveries. This edition has been thoroughly updated to reflect the most recent advances in biochemistry, particularly in the areas of genomics and structural biology. A new chapter focuses on cytoskeletal and motor proteins, currently one of the most active areas of research in biochemistry.

Solid Biochemistry Textbook.......2007-01-06
The title of the book is a very succinct description of the content. This is a solid text with alot of good, basic information. As a course text, I think the success with which this book may be employed depends a great deal upon the employer. If all you require of your students is that they skim the chapters and hear your lectures, the book will seem simple and lacking in detail to the student. If you require your students to memorize the diagrams, tables, reaction mechanisms, molecular structures, pathways, etc... (as my biochem professors did), then the book will seem very difficult, convoluted, and complicated. Unfortunately, when you get to a course like biochem with so much information for the students to absorb, and for which every text looks like an encyclopedia, I'm afraid a person's opinion of a textbook actually depends more upon the instructor who presented them with the text, rather than on the text itself. So I suspect many of the reviews on this page are actually reviews of professors who taught the reviewers and not of the book. Just something to keep in mind.
That said, I enjoyed learning from this text and I did well in the course (a notoriously difficult course at my school).
Pretty awful textbook.......2006-10-24
I am currently taking Biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania, where Voet is teaching, and I can testify that this book is of questionable quality. I am not sure what prompted the organization of the book, but the chapters are not orientated in a way that is conducive to learning. Furthermore, Voet has the annoying habit of taking digressions about the application of biochemistry to other fields in the middle of making crucial points. I can appreciate the effort of trying to connect the science with practical application, but Voet's approach is more cumbersome than instructional. Chapter 12 on Enzyme Inhibition (other than being curiously being placed in the middle of the textbook instead of the beginning) needs to be totally written. His explanations and derivations are very confusing to follow. This textbook is in need of some serious editing. Let's hope that the third edition works upon these problems.
This "Upgrade" is a Real Downgrade.......2005-12-23
Overview:
I am reading this book in preparation for Biochemistry I and find it to be full of gross errors. Simple definitions like that of osmosis are incorrect. Table 4-1 is terrible, and there are other tables and figures (Figure 3-6 for example) that require much more attention than they have been given. I am seriously concerned and disappointed about the authors, editors, and long list of professionals that reviewed this book because of missing basic "fundamental" pieces of information.
Professors:
If you are a professor who is thinking of using this text in class, I would suggest you DO NOT! Your students could be a hazard in the end if they plan to got to medical school or into pharmacology.
Students:
If you are a student currently using this text for class, please find other resources. I am catching only the errors that I know to be false, but there could be many more.
DO NOT USE THIS BOOK!!!
Further Comments:
My professor will be using the third edition of this book in class, and I can only hope that in the third edition Voet got it right.
Excellent Condition.......2005-09-13
The book i received was in excellent condition, it was listed under the used section, but when i received it, it was still in the original packing. The only problem was the CD was missing somehow, no big deal.
great pits.......2005-04-12
When I first used this book in undergrad I did not like it very much, however, in medical school, I found this book to be a huge asset. It is great for someone who learns visually and condenses all the info on to a few pages, my medical school bio chem book took 30 pages to explain what this book does in a few. Also, I like the way this book is organized, it seems to flow.... the only chapter that seemed to need a little work was nucliotide mab.. Undergrad texts seem to stress more chemistry and enzyme mechanics, while med school will stress inh points. Also, photosythesis is not covered in med school, vitamins are not covered in this text

Thoughts from an ME Undergraduate.......2007-04-04
I'm currently using this book for my undergraduate thermo course and this is my first class (and first book) on thermodynamics. That said, I must I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, I'll agree that there's plenty of examples which are helpful and there's plenty of rigor in explaining many concepts.
On the other hand, I will also say that I was completely lost several times when reading the book. I definitely agree with the other review that complained about this book's wordiness. In an introductory text such as this, I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't string together long, run-on sentences with nothing but definition terms (where you have to lookup virtually each word in the sentence from other chapters). I've also noticed that many intro texts *fail to succinctly and clearly explain completely new terms and concepts in easy-to-understand words and real-world examples*, and this is no exception!
Central summary pages including main formulas (and page numbers for alternative forms of the main formulas) would be helpful for students instead of constantly flipping through the chapters looking for something specific formula.
Also, the back of the book solutions severely lack any sort of real form (most books give either all odd or even solutions) and the problems themselves often require complex assumptions that first-year thermo students such as myself aren't going to think of right off-the-bat. Starting point hints would be a BIG help.
All that said, I'd say that while this is a pretty good, detailed book, good luck if you're an engineering undergrad taking a thermo class for the first time with this book. You'll probably benefit from lectures more than from this book.
I had to teach myself from this..........2007-03-18
Great book, my professor for this class lacked a Ph.D and the ability to teach, so I was on my own for the most part. I nearly pulled an A in the course. On a technical note, they aren't so clear on/or make a few minor errors, be careful with the P-h diagrams.
THE Best Engineering Text.......2007-03-15
This is the best textbook in Engineering or Mathematics I have ever read. Its structure is just so good, that words are hard to find. It would be easier to describe a more mediocre textbook than this, since I cannot emphasize enough just how well written this text is compared to the seventy or so other engineering and mathematics books I own.
Work patiently through the first six chapters, and the rest is a true pleasure. The perfect structure both of the examples and of the text itself renders only one requiste on the reader's part: study the chapters in their entirety -- never will the time you spend on a book pay better dividens than this time around.
Disregard the negative reviews for this text; these are the result of lacking academic maturity among a portion of the amazon.com reviewers. Also, I meant to give it 5 stars, but the site does not enable such a correction.
Thermodynamics Text.......2007-03-02
Difficult to find information in the text, though it does have alot of useful stuff. The tables at the back are great.
GOOD BUT...........2006-06-22
ITS GOOD BUT IT JUMP TO MUCH STEPS. I RECOMMEND "THERMODYNAMICS AN ENGINEERING APPROACH" FORM CENGEL AND BOLES. ITS MORE FRIENDLY USER. I HAVE BOTH

Upgrade to this, the Best.......2007-04-09
I am a bit surprised at some of the negative comments on this book, as I love it most thoroughly. But then again, it is not the right choice for someone who wants to rush through a care plan and give it a loose going over. This book is thorough, comprehensive, and it is dedicated to producing high quality results. These are the reasons that I rely heavily on this book on the floor as the nurse who has to update and revise all the care plans, bringing them into compliance and improving them. This book is for all nursing students and practicing nurses who believe that the care plan carries a significant amount of weight in the nursing process. If you are serious about good results, upgrade from the "less is more" books that shield you from the data to the Granddaddy of Nursing Diagnosis Books.
Review of Carpenito Ed 10.......2005-09-05
This is the care plan bible. It makes care plans & paperwork a lot easier.
Diamond in the rough.......2005-04-07
This book looks daunting at first encounter. Each page is crammed with valuable information which sometimes overwhelms the reader. But this is exactly why this book is a gem for me. Other readers find it difficult to follow because they missed the fly leaf which lists all the nursing diagnosis with its corresponding page numbers. In my experience, in order to get the maximum use of this book, go to the fly leaf (the first page after the front cover), look up the nursing diagnosis and its page number. When you get to the right page, voila, all the wonderful information is listed as follows:
Nursing diagnosis->definition->major defining characteristics-> minor defining characteristics-> related factors-> pathophysiologic factors-> treatment related factors-> situational factors->maturational factors->assessment criteria->outcome criteria->general interventions-> and the last is the rationale.
Inside blue boxes are author's notes and errors in diagnostic statements which are very important pieces of information for beginning nurses or students like me. There are also considerations for pediatric, maternal and geriatric patients.
I hope this review is helpful. One last thing, this book does not work for you if you feel hurried. Take your time when you read this book.
Don't waste your money........2005-01-15
Although my nursing school required this book, it is the most confusing and least helpful of all the 9 books I have on care planning and nursing diagnoses. I haven't met anyone who likes this book or finds it user friendly. In all the other books the rationales are written right after the interventions, this book does not use that format making it time consuming and frustrating. The book is unorganized and hard to follow. If this is not a required book, save your money for your tuition.
Why students complain about this book.......2004-08-20
I love this book for its thoroughness, clarity, and usefulness in exploring nursing clinical decisions. I am not surprised that the students find it difficult because becoming a nurse IS a difficult transformation. The author doesn't "dumb-down" the complexity of nursing process - thank goodness.

Great book for fundamentals of electrochemistry.......2007-02-24
This book is a great one to brush up on your fundamentals of electrochemistry and a must-have-on-your-bookshelf item for electrochemists. The latest edition also covers sections on modern day applications of electrochemical methods and serves as a good reference to understand the techniques.
Second Edition updated.......2001-05-03
The 1st edition (the 1980 version) was the gold standard of electrochemistry books, and the authors have done an excellent job of revision for the 2001 2nd edition. In particular, the sections on impedance and modern pulse methods flow nicely. The spectroscopy section has been updated as well. I have not worked many problems, but they seem useful in elucidating concepts. The mathematics is of a higher order than one expects from electrochemistry, showing the impact of kinetics on electrode processes nicely. I recommend this text for electrochemistry courses highly.
Excellent reference.......1997-07-27
This is a very complete and thorough book, and
covers all of the fundamentals. It suffers from being somewhat out-of-date (1980), so it does
not cover modern techniques (e.g., x-ray, STM)
or single-crystal electrodes.
It can be rough for the first-time student,
but it's a must for the serious researcher.
I often spend hours working on a problem, only
to discover the answer is buried in here!

all formula, no concept.......2007-07-09
My complaints about this book have been covered in other reviews but I wanted to add my low-star rating. The Henderson-Hasselbalch equation is given one paragraph of space which refers back to four other equations in the text. Understanding the use of this popular equation requires a convoluted page-flipping to try to work through the author's many equations leading up to it. (And by leading up, I do not mean to imply there's a logical conceptual sequence.) As others have written, the chapter review questions aren't covered adequately in the text and the questions themselves aren't always clear. The Solutions Manual for the text is worthless, tossing out more equations and giving no indications of where the numbers used come from. If you're a professor looking at this book for a class, please keep looking. This isn't the book students need.
Not worth the $ and frustration.......2005-07-23
I returned to college to further my education this year after working as a High School Chemistry and Biology teacher for the last 5 years, and your text "Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry (with CD-ROM and InfoTrac) 8th Edition" is the required text that we are using for my Quantitative Analysis course. Myself and numerous other students in the class have found ourselves completely exasperated with the text for numerous reasons. Some of the reasons are as follows:
1. Formulas written incorrectly, while the definition/derivation is written properly right next to it, or vice versa.
2. Incorrect answers to the end of the chapter questions given in the back of the book.
3. The end of the chapter questions will often have no previous examples shown in the chapter, or in the chapters prior to it. Essentially there is no guide or basis to begin a question.
4. Asking for something in a way that is so convoluted that one has no idea what is being asked.
5. Suddenly using or asking for a term that has never been used in the book. Such as asking for "molar solubility"...nothing in text as to referred, nothing in the index, and nothing in the glossary.
6. Your solved examples within the chapter are atrocious, in that they are of virtually no use when trying to use them as a guide to the end of the chapter questions. And thank you for skipping/not showing steps or assuming things in the problems when they are shown.
These are great given that one comes to consider the questions, Did I make an algebraic error in solving? Was the formula given the correct one, and was it even given correctly? Did I do it correctly, and is it just the wrong answer given in the back of the text?
I have taken into consideration that I have been out of school for a while and that I may not be as sharp as I used to as far as some of the more complicated calculations, because I have not had much practice recently, however, when one is trying to learn from a book that makes it so hard to do anything with it, it makes it about as useful as a paperweight, which is about the best use I have for it now. A $100+ paperweight.
I thought that the mistakes were due to an early edition text, but with a simple view of the front of this book one can readily see that this is the 8th edition...the EIGHTH edition! One would think that after writing the same book 8 times, these errors and some general refinements may have taken place; thank you for the exception to the rule.
In all my years of school, I have come across many books, both used to learn from as well as ones to teach from, and I have never found a more poorly done text.
We, the students and professor, have created a website solely dedicated to the errors or oddities that we have so far found in the text: Needless to say, it continues to grow.
I will say that it is nice to see you incorporating Excel and other software into the text, which is beneficial in its use in Industry and presentation.
Thought you might want to know...thanks.
Work carefully and check the author's math if perplexed.......2005-05-26
Overall, the book is average. Towards the end when you start reviewing different techniques like voltammetry, potentiometry, spectrometry, and seperations the author explains the material fairly well (and has the least in text problems). I noticed a lot of errors in the book for the in text examples so be careful when checking your answer. I bought the solutions manual to this book and a couple of questions in the manual actually stated that the answers in the back of the book were incorrect. Be very careful from chapters 9-20, as I noticed a few examples had math errors. Also, at least for me, the mathmatics were derived, but not explained as to understand why they add a new term or perform an operation. I would have liked to see them relate the math to the concept better than they did. If you sit with this book (I mean really sit with it) you'll do fine. This is not a text nor a course that you can cram for. It has to be studied everyday of the week.
A great book.......2005-01-01
I used this book in my undergrad Analytical Class. I sold it back at the end of the semester and have wished I hadn't for the last eight years. It is well thought out and easy to navigate when a quick answer is needed once you are out in the "real world". There are some mistakes, like any textbook, but I think the other reviewers are just frustrated crammers sending out late-night rants.
this book sucks........2004-10-07
I am just sitting here reading this book, studying for a huge exam tomorrow morning, and I am just getting so incredibly frustrated with this book and decided that I should let it out on here. Oh my God, there is a mistake on like every friggin page... and to make matters worse, all the mistakes are right smack-dab in the middle of an example problem. So there you are, trying to learn how to work certain problems, and all of a sudden, there's something that just doesnt seem to make any sense. And the whole time you're thinking that you're stupid and you just cant figure out the correct way to do the problem, until a wasted-hour later, you finally realize... "oh, its just ANOTHER stupid mistake these idiots made, and i thought i was retarded." Grrrr, this is killin me. I cannot freakin believe that they could actually charge $140.00 for a book no one even bothered to proofread. okay, so point of the story is... this book sucks, dont buy it if you can get around it, i'd recommend.

Book Description
Written for the short course-where content must be thorough, but to-the-point, FUNDAMENTALS OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, Sixth Edition, continues to provide an effective, clear, and readable introduction to the beauty and logic of organic chemistry. McMurry presents only those subjects needed for a brief course while maintaining the important pedagogical tools commonly found in larger books. With clear explanations, thought-provoking examples, and an innovative vertical format for explaining reaction mechanisms, FUNDAMENTALS takes a modern approach: primary organization is by functional group, beginning with the simple (alkanes) and progressing to the more complex. Within the primary organization, there is also an emphasis on explaining the fundamental mechanistic similarities of reactions. Through this approach, memorization is minimized and understanding is maximized. The sixth edition brings in new content that applies organic chemistry to students, for example all of the chapter openers have been changed and incorporate a model and photograph of an application of organic chemistry such as Taxol from the pacific yew tree. The book introduces a running application in the Interlude boxes and in the problems relating agricultural chemicals intended to unify the subject further for students. All of the problems have been reorganized by topic to make easier to assign and review. New problem categories have been added. The new problem categories are "In the Field with Agrochemicals" and "In the Medicine Cabinet" to reinforce the focus on applications.

Does it really cut it.......2005-05-05
This book is an OK introductory organic chemistry text however I wanted more. I personally needed a book which gives a clear understanding of the basics and advanced concepts. I found two books which if used together produce the best results.
March's advanced organic chemistry and Organic chemistry by wade (6th edition).
These books are of tremendous help to me in understanding the fundamentals and also the more advanced concepts of organic chemistry. I also wanted to save money as I am doing further organic synthesis and other carbon chemistry subjects later on so I needed a book that is particularly good for reference.
If you are prescribed this book then go for it but I personally feel it doesnt really cut it for me. (I will edit this soon)
Great helper for a tough subject.......2000-07-07
