Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
Racial preference is nothing new, argues Tim J. Wise in this compelling exploration of race, privilege, and education. This book recasts the debate over today's controversial, race-based affirmative action policies. Wise deftly demonstrates that the American educational system has always been complicit in institutionalized racism and racial preference.

Reclaiming Affirmative Action in the face of White Privilege.......2005-08-17
Again, as he did in "White Like Me", Wise forces America to look itself in the face and examine the reflection with honesty and integrity. In this book, Wise appeals to common sense, and "scientific minds" for those who need proof for the otherwise obvious, and makes one of the most compelling arguments for affirmative action while rebutting, with countless research, the dubious arguments of those who claim that affirmative action, particulary in college admissions policies, is reverse discrimination and a system of "handouts" to unqualified blacks, who in essence steal the seats from qualified whites. He demonstrates how subscribers to such arguments base their claims almost entirely on the "racial gap" in SAT, ACT, and GRE scores that supposedly "prove" how whites are being discriminated against when blacks with lower test scores take whites' "rightly earned" seats. However, through use of countless research, Wise demonstrates not only how research after research shows that these standardized test neither reflect ability nor determine grades in college. He further shows through research how the tests fail to predict graduation rates for students of any race.
As a deafening blow to the "reverse discrimination" claim, Wise points to the overwhelming evidence pointing not only to blacks' competence once admitted to college (that is often superior to their white counterparts with higher test scores) but to the fact that whites with lower test scores, admitted because of parent alumnus status, take far more seats from "more qualified whites" than all affirmative action admits put together. Yet, those who decry affirmative action on grounds of racial discrimination effectively ignore this fact. Even more bizarre is that it never enters the radar screen for their arguments. For if the argument against affirmative action is that unqualified blacks are admitted over their more qualified white counterparts (based on test scores), by definition, decriers of affirmative action must be infuriated by the overwhelming number of "unqualified" white admits (sons and daugthers of parent alumni) who take the seats of more "qualified" white students. After all, the alum status admits have exceedingly more priority than affirmative action admits, so much so that beneficiaries of affirmative action wouldn't even make the chart for a statistical comparison to the admission rate of children of alums. Yet, opposers of affirmative action condone this "unjust" admission policy, as if saying, as long as the "unqualified" admit is white, he/she belongs there; if he/she is black, certainly a white student should be there in his/her place. This crippling discrepancy alone shows the inherent racism, and dubious foundation, in the reverse discrimination argument itself.
As if these arguments were not compelling enough, Wise goes on to demonstrate how the recent white "reverse discrimination" plaintiffs, based on the schools' admission policies, would not have been admitted to the college of their choice, even if affirmative action were not in place. Furthermore, none of their lawyers even attempted to argue that the black student admits were not fully qualifed to be admitted...because they were, demonstrated both by admission policies that put little weight on test scores in the first place and black student graduation rates after admission.
The underlying premise of all of Wise's arguments is that there has always been a system of "affirmative action" for whites in virtually all areas of life: housing, schooling, and employment; and until this "affirmative action" ceases to be in place, the affirmative action in response to the racism plaguing this society must remain in place, not only for the benefit of blacks, but for the benefit of a just, right-thinking society at large.
Finally, Wise appeals to proponents of affirmative action by advising them to reclaim affirmative action, not through watered-down arguments calling for "campus diversity" (an argument that in itself works to keep white privilege and power structure in place) but through the need for affirmative action in the face of the continuing prevalence of white "affirmative action" that defines this nation's past and present. After all, it was in response to this racist system that affirmative action was put in practice in the first place. Thus it is on this premise, that is backed by scores of research and common sense, that this system of justice must be reclaimed in the face of white privilege.
Essential reading.......2005-06-15
Even as a person who cares about race issues and followed the Michigan cases with great interest, I found this book to be tremendously eye-opening. Mr. Wise examines many of the myths surrounding affirmative action programs and race, and methodically and persuasively "de-bunks" them, in many cases merely by unpacking the statistics that were cited in the Michigan cases themselves. I've already given this book to several friends to read, all of whom found it as absorbing and fascinating as I did. And I've cited it to many other friends, including a number of black friends, to point out the many myths that have heretofore gone unchallenged, even in the black community. I wish I could give a copy of this book to everyone in the United States. I'd love to witness and take part in the dialogue that came out of that reading project. I can't recommend this book highly enough. And do be sure to read White Like Me, Mr. Wise's other recently published book.

Could Be Worse.......2007-04-14
First off, don't get this book if it's your sole source of Physics and Chemistry. It is not very comprehensive and is a bit off touch in those areas.
Secondly, this book has quite a few more errors than most books. Most annoyingly is it has about 200 unnecessary pages - after every 4-5 page chapter it has a 2-3 page review of the exact information. The questions at the end aren't really that great either.
However, Bio, Orgo and the CD aren't bad so it could be worse.
Best MCAT Prep guide I've come across.......2007-03-29
This is very definitely the most comprehensive, intelligent, detailed MCAT prep. book I've come across so far. I wasn't surprised to see that the publisher is one of the premier medical publisher (remember your McGraw Biology text books from college). Each chapter is complete in itself...you don't have to go hunting for better explanation on vaguely introduced topics; there was such an intelligent organization of topics that you can see that they put a lot of thoughtful planning into this. And the diagrams and tables...I kept gushing about how useful (and how many!) they were.
The topics are all current and up to date. Just compare the book at the bookstore to all other books, and you'll see for yourself. The book speaks for itself!
I've retired the book I was studying from (i.e. K....). My MCAT group discovered that there were hardly any changes from the older editions of this 'K.....' guide...in other words, it covers 1/10th the material that the McGraw covers, and is a poor tool to use for good preparation.
I give this book 5 stars; using it well and preparing thoroughly leaves very little doubt in my mind that I'll do less than well on the exam.

Cracking the GRE Chemistry Test.......2007-01-16
If you need to prepare for the GRE Chemistry subject test, or just review some Chemistry, this book can really help.
Good, but some flaws.......2007-01-10
This book will help you narrow down what you need to study and show you the main topics covered by the chemistry exam. However, there are several flaws in the material that while studying, could confuse you if you are not careful. If you get this book, use it to show you what you need to know, but study the topics from your own notes and books.
Review for the Princeton's review book for GRE Chemistry.......2006-11-05
Hi there,
I just took my Subject GRE in Chemistry yesterday. Thank God, i had ordered this book. Being from MEchanical Engineering backround, and haven't had seen chemistry in past 5 years, it was a tough bet! All the material i studied were my High school notes and the Princeton's Review book.
The overlap with high school chemistry taught in India is roughly 70%, but one can't neglect the remaining 30%. The book does a good job in explaining topics like NMR spectra, Chromatograhpy, Photochemistry, ORganic Chemistry, Thermodynamics, Kintics principle, Acid-Base equilibria etc. Not a single question in the Test was out of the topics covered in the book. The practise test and indepth analysis in the end is Great. I am so much impressed by the book, that I could not wait to write praise for the book.
For chemistry GRE, there are no yahoo groups of students, and not many test papers are available. Here is some information: The FIIT-JEE website has some previous IIT-JEE and AIEEE papers with solutions archived. Further, there are 2 online tests available which will give you a fair idea of your probable score in final exam. Also try to get hold of some student in Chemistry department. They hit 'home' to the simple GRE level questions! My friends Dr Ahmad, Jamila and Dawn (all from Chemistry department at Purdue) were very helpful.
This book is a great HELP for any student working on his/her Chemsitry GRE.
The only thing i dislike about the book was its coverpage, which i tore away the first day i got it!
Good luck.

OK.......2006-04-14
This book is an okay start. It has less mistakes in it than the older edition, but there are still some. It is definitely not enough preparation though.

not good for nyc license.......2006-02-08
I studied this book it has good information but not for the new york city exam, out of all the practice questions maybe 1 was on the exam, they should updfate or at least no whats on the exams .
New Jersey Refrigeration License Exam Q & A.......2005-07-19
This is the newest edition of the Arco License Preparation Training Manual. It is an excellent source for theory and operation of Ammonia and Toxic Refrigeration Systems. An excellent aid with vital information to help with your preparation for your State Refrigeration Engineer License Exam.
Contents are not just specific to New York City exams and regulations, they also apply to New Jersey as well as most other State's Refrigeration Engineer Licensing Examinations.
Many of the drawings and technical information have been absent from most technical manuals for years. This is a great single source to access all that lost information. It also includes the fundamentals of Absorption Refrigeration Plant Operation and Maintenance.
Many State exams include questions that are taken directly from this publication. (Answers to sample questions are included).
Great Book.......2005-02-19
I bought this book for less then fifteen dollars and it was the best fifteen dollars I've spent. I recommended to two of my co-workers. The book is easy to follow; has plenty of diagrams, illustrations and details to understand what's going on. The best part is the quizzes at the end of each section. The quizzes make sure you're paying attention. I'm an architect by training, and now I'm pretty confident that I can follow along with a conversation about a refrigeration system.
Good for New York City.......2000-06-30
Apparently New York City has its own Refrigeration Code and its own licensing exam and certification. This boook is aimed at people who are trying to get that certification. It's really not as practical as the Preston "EPA Certification" book for people outside of NYC. However, it is a very good basic refrigeration manual. Really well organized and with lots of good practice questions on each topic. A primer that would be helpful for anyone, but especially those in Manhattan.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent for science students and professionals.......2005-10-06
This little book is very clear about writing in science. It also gives faculty concrete ideas of how and, just as importantly, why writing needs to be assigned work. Students will be required to write in their professional lives and need to learn early how to do it. Practice is key and writing in various classes and for various kinds of tasks will help students master it for their futures. And let's not forget the faculty; we can get rusty, too! In all, this is a good tool for undergraduate science education.

Customer Reviews:
One of the Best chemistry books out there!.......2005-02-09
This is an absolute MUST for ANY Chemistry student doing A levels!
After reading his website , I decided it is only fitting that I buy his book, support the author of a terrific website , and maybe learn something new. Mr. Clarke has organized this book, and it's chapters extremly well , and the content is excellent. Although this book does not try to teach a particular subject in the deapth required for A levels it does teach you the fundamentals and principles required to answer the questions. I found this book a great help, especially in Chemical and Ionic Equilibria and the other chapters are just as well done.
After explaining the necessary terminology and definitions , he goes on to give detailed examples and solutions to a variety of questions.
IF there is one thing that struck me about this book is that the end of chapter questions have solutions!.Not only does he give you the answer, but the working! This is often absent in many textbooks in current circulation. I have reccomended this book to many friends and I am yet to find a better book that deals in calculations in this way.
