Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
Book Description
Today's project managers find themselves in the dual roles of technical expert and business leader. As project management has evolved, the need has emerged for an organizational entity to manage complexities and ensure alignment with business interests. A project management office (PMO) coordinates technical and business facets of project management and achieves the goals of oversight, control, and support within the project management environment. The Complete Project Management Office Handbook identifies the PMO as the essential business integrator of the people, processes, and tools that manage or influence project performance. This book details how the PMO applies professional project management practices and successfully integrates business interests with project goals, regardless of whether the scope of the PMO is limited to managing specific projects or expanded to the level of a full business unit. People at all levels of the project and business spectrum will benefit from this volume. The Handbook focuses on how to establish PMO functionality to meet the requirements of project stakeholders. It presents 20 pertinent PMO function models, providing guidance for developing PMO operating capability that is applicable to any organization. It also presents these functions relative to five stages of progressive PMO development along a competency continuum, demonstrating potential PMO growth from simple project control up through its alignment within a strategic business framework.

PMO guide.......2007-09-11
excellent reference book and would recommend it for any one wants to know more about PMO
Reads like a big dictionary..........2006-10-19
Personally, I don't like this book. It reads like a big dictionary... lots of words but nothing tying things together. I found it difficult to find and follow a set of concrete steps to help get a PMO up and running. I understand it is "complete" but it does it at the expense of the "shotgun effect"--throwing a lot of stuff out but not really zeroing in on anything.
I think this book would be great for someone who needed to pick and choose a few specific things and wanted a reference but as a day-to-day book to help with setting up a PMO and figuring out how to get a PMO effort off the ground in a way that ensures success, it misses the mark unfortunately.
Keep this Handbook "Handy".......2006-05-11
Hill's book is an excellent overview of the Project Management Office(PMO) stages and functions. It is well-organized and well-written, with each chapter following a consistent format and including a related function model for the topic being discussed.
I particularly liked:
o The PMO Competency Continuum that depicts the five stages in the evolution of a full-blown PMO (i.e.,Center of Excellence), and the functions, advantages and disadvantages associated with each stage
o The table depicting the 20 PMO functions, grouped within his five function categories: Practice Management, Infrastructure Management, Resource Integration, Technical Support and Business Alignment
o Good use of charts, diagrams, bullets, examples, etc.
o Recognition of the PMO's business integration function
Suggestion for future editions: Correlate functions and processes to the Project Management Institute (PMI)'s terminology, phasing, etc.
A good desk reference!
Excellent Book.......2006-01-18
This is a very useful book for project managers and executives. A very complete book on the subject of project management offices.
It presents a complete view of the most important functions of a PMO.
One of the best books about PMO.

Complete Idiot's Guide to Chemistry.......2007-09-27
It is just OK. Not quite as helpful as I had hoped. I am 52 yrs. old, returning to college to obtain my BSN. This book, unfortunately, does not share the same important ideas as the required text for class, and when it does, it is not much clearer than the text. So, I find myself not using it too much.
Not recommended for those seeking a thorough grasp of Chemistry.......2007-07-24
I purchased the book to help me "brush-up" on some basic principles. I found quite a few typos and inconsistencies in the answers to the problems. I just wish I had read these reviews before I purchased the book. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who really wants to understand chemistry. It's just for those who want a very brief overview of basic chemistry.
The Fundementals in Plain English.......2007-06-24
Some people are totally missing the point of this book, like some of the negative reviews below. (Insult to your intelligence? If you're so smart you'd know that you're not the target audience of this book.) This book is for those who are either doing General Chem for the first time or coming back after a long hiatus.
The author provides the basic fundementals of general chemistry in a good plain english text that is meant to complement, not replace your textbook. This book gave me a great boost in Chem class when I used it that way, usually by reading this book first when a new topic came up so as to get a synopsis and then going to the textbook for the gory details. This book goes a long way towards making Chemistry less intimidating and soon that big course textbook is not so threatening anymore.
GREAT book!!!.......2007-05-20
Since it had been 37 years since I had taken a chemistry class, I was a little afraid of doing well. I got this book early on, and it was a HUGE help. It was written by a teacher who really knew his stuff. He encourages you to learn how to work the problems versus letting your fear take over and you feel forced the memorize them. I recommend this book VERY highly.
Chem made easy.......2007-03-09
This book is very useful for the struggling Chem student. It has simple definitions and examples that aide in the understanding of the basic chem concepts that are essential for chem and bio majors. Highly reccommend to anyone who struggles with chem and doesn't have time to go to a tutor.

Excellent Tutorial.......2006-09-07
This is a great book- full of artistic pieces and knowledge on how to recreate your own work! I wanted this book for a long time, found it on Amazon and paid a fraction of what I would have paid in the store!
Timeless Information.......2006-03-17
Though this book was published clear back in 1997, the information is timeless. I tend to shy away from older how-to books, but this is a great book to add to your art and craft library. I wish all how-to books were this thorough and informative. You get your money's worth here.
The only book on this you will ever need!.......2005-12-15
I've been wanting both of her books for awhile now and I finally splurged and got both of them (the Polaroid Manipulations book that concentrates on the SX-70 manip process).
When I first flipped through this book I was blown away and amazed by the content. This book is the number one resource for helping you along with your Polaroid transfers and emulsion lifts. It is HIGHLY informative. The author guides you step by step and even provides some background information on how the processed were discovered. She also offers a lot of inspirational material in an advanced techniques section of the book. At the end of the book there are artist galleries with drop-dead-gorgeous work!
I recommend this book highly to anyone who wants to get into the alternative processes with the Polaroid medium. Don't hesitate... get a copy today!
Very well constructed.......2004-01-16
This should be in every Alternative Artists(Photographer) library. Well written, excellent examples and very comprehensive. You should be able to flourish in the medium after experiencing this book. Kathleen has consolidated a concise book that brings it all together. A value to all.
Great information and images.......2003-01-15
Very useful book for those of you starting out with image transfer or emulsion. Easy to read with a great artist section.

Gain Knowledge in the Understanding of Addiction.......2007-08-10
This book was an eye-opener. I specifically bought it for an online course I am taking towards my CASAC certification. It gave me information that I wasn't aware of. An excellent book for anyone, even if you are not in the field of counseling or medicine.
Good Insight.......2007-08-09
The subject of illegal drug abuse in the US and all around the world is explored in this book. The book provides thorough information about chemical charateristics, type of drug, street names, origin, the ethnic group or race the drug is associated with, synthetic forms of the drug as well as an interesting history of the particular drug and their use dated back centuries ago!
Overall I found this book an informative, engaging read and would strongly recommend it to anyone!
Facinating.......2007-04-06
Unbiased look at American facinations with drugs. Gives all the dangers, yet explains WHY folks would use them.
Excellent, readable review of the drug world.......2006-09-05
This is among the most readable reference books written. The history and relationships of abusable drugs are covered. Then, commonly abused drugs receive individual attention. The information seems accurate and factual, and the author is a University-based M.D.
Unfortunately, he doesn't always note the source of some quotes clearly in the text. This leaves one wondering, at times, if the quote was intended to demonstrate a truth or a misconception -- especially if the topic in question is controversial. There are only occasional, minor references to sensationalistic stories that leave one wondering if they're true.
The author's bias (having read 2/3rds of the book so far), seems to be that the "War on Drugs" has not worked, but he's not a promoter of drug use, noting frequently the enormously harmful effects of drugs on both individuals and society. He describes both the positive and negative uses of drugs.
While this book contains a great deal of medical info, it is written for an educated layman and is not filled with the arcane technical writing and jargon of typical medical texts. Highly recommended overall.
Teachers, Take Note!.......2006-07-28
I thought I already knew quite a bit about illegal drugs, but this book is CHOCK-FULL of information. What stands out in my memory is the woodcut of the medieval "witch" applying LSD to her vaginal mucous membrane while riding a broomstick - wooow!
I thought I was a mini-expert on Malignant Hyperthermia, only to learn the new drug Ecstasy causes MH and is treated similarly with ice and Dantrolene. He also describes how to use Prozac (a re-uptake inhibitor) to protect oneself from nerve terminal destruction caused by Ecstasy.
These fun little nuggets of information could be used to liven up any Biology lecture! I especially liked how he compared the effects and risks of each drug of abuse and gave examples of famous users. He made what could have been a boring topic, very engaging and relevant.

Bringing such a complicated unit online and ensuring its continued productivity requires substantial skill at anticipating, detecting and solving acute problems. This book is the professional's and student's entrance to the fascinating and important world of trouble shooting for chemical, pharmaceutical and other production processes.
Book Description
Covering regulatory requirements stipulated by the FDA, this book delineates the organization, planning, verification, and documentation activities and procedural controls required for compliance with worldwide computer systems validation regulations. The author introduces supporting technologies such as encryption and digital signatures and places regulatory compliance within the context of quality assurance. Great overview of 21 CFR Part 11.......2004-04-22
While everyone has heard about giant companies such as Wal-Mart and General Motors, Fortune magazine occasionally runs articles about huge companies that most people don't know of. Similarly, in the information security space, many people have heard of regulations such as Common Criteria, ISO-17799 and HIPAA. Yet there is a huge regulation that many people know nothing of, namely 21 CFR Part 11.
Title 21 Part 11 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (also known as 21 CFR Part 11 or simply Part 11) falls under the authority of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA felt that the risks of falsification, misinterpretation and change without leaving evidence are higher with electronic records than paper records and therefore specific controls are required.
Part 11 deals with the conditions under which the FDA will accept electronic records and electronic signatures as equivalent to paper records and handwritten signatures and electronic New Drug Application (NDA) submissions as equivalent to paper submission.
With that, 21 CFR Part 11: Complete Guide to International Computer Validation is a very good overview of the topic.
The book details how organizations regulated by Part 11 can create a compliance strategy for validated systems.
Anyone needing a quick introduction to Part 11 will find this work valuable.
The only negative to this book is its price; at $180.00, it is extremely expensive. Such a price will make the book unobtainable for most readers. I believe its low Amazon.com Sales Rank of 1,810,979 is due directly to that.

Book Description
Clear, accessible coverage of modern NMR spectroscopy-for students and professionals in many fields of science
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy has made quantum leaps in the last decade, becoming a staple tool in such divergent fields as chemistry, physics, materials science, biology, and medicine. That is why it is essential that scientists working in these areas be fully conversant with current NMR theory and practice.
This down-to-basics text offers a comprehensive, up-to-date treatment of the fundamentals of NMR spectroscopy. Using a straightforward approach that develops all concepts from a rudimentary level without using heavy mathematics, it gives readers the knowledge they need to solve any molecular structure problem from a complete set of NMR data. Topics are illustrated throughout with hundreds of figures and actual spectra. Chapter-end summaries and review problems with answers are included to help reinforce and test understanding of key material.
From NMR studies of biologically important molecules to magnetic resonance imaging, this book serves as an excellent all-around primer on NMR spectroscopic analysis.

Reference that is worth it's weight in Gold.......2004-02-27
A valuable refernce for any organic chemist in the early years of a career in industry or as a graduate student. Aviods being bogged down in quantum theory and explains NMR in a clear concise manner. I have read the first 1/3 and couldn't be more pleased. I would also recommend Andrew Derome as well.
