Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Did not like the book. The author is overly verbose and redundant. I want to sell it on Amazon someone may love it!
This CD set is a must read for all those expanding consciousness into the New Millenium.......2006-09-03
I have read many books on consciousness and cosmology but Gregg Braden is one of the most amazing conscious researchers of the new millenium. His information is exact, clearly and simply explained, and brings us all closer to knowing and connecting to the God within all of us.
I listen to his books on CD as I drive long distances and I am always enthralled and excited by his amazing understanding of science, mysticism, and human nature.
You will not be disappointed by this CD set. It should be on everyone's Christmas list as a gift to your friends who are interested in this type of information.
But what is even better is that you can give this to the skeptics also, because his information is impeccible and grounded in fact. What he uncovers will bring the magic back into your life and help you appreciate being born into this time.
This is a must read and a must share with everyone you know!

East + West = "God".......2007-09-13
We live today in a world so divided by disparate religious ideas that there is a very real possibility that we as humans won't survive these differences.
The spectrum of this divde is great and varied. Extreme Christian fundamentalists longing for a biblical Armageddon promote political choices that could bring on an ultimate nuclear holocaust. More moderate Christians eschew science in favor of a literal reading of the Bible and turn a blind eye to scientific "theories" as varied as global warming, the evolution of our species or the age of the universe.
Extreme Islamic fundamentalists scoff at earthly political goals altogether and wish only to live in a world governed entirely by the Koran. Unfortunately, like the Judeo/Christian Bible, interpretation of these sacred scriptures is subject to whoever perceives that he/she has been selected by his or her god to do so. This has resulted, in many instances, in the wide-scale destruction of people by those convinced by these chosen spokesmen that they will achieve heavenly rewards by their own and their victims' deaths.
Obviously, examples like these can be found everywhere in the world and in many other religions as well.
In a fervent desire to get beyond religious misconceptions of basic spiritual concepts, many thoughtful people have followed one of two divergent philosophical paths of inquiry concerning the universe and our place in it.
Science and spirituality (as opposed to religion) both seek the answers to this most fundamental question. While never quite at physical odds with each other, proponents look askance at each other for the others' naive understandings of reality. Yet a few individuals in both camps have been able to take a "quantum leap" of understanding and realize that science and spirituality should not just "agree to disagree".
For some scientists, David Bohm, Rupert Sheldrake, Karl Pribram and others, the deeper science goes towards discovering the most fundamental nature of Matter and Energy, the more the paths of science and spirituality merge into one.
On the spiritual side, a person such as the Dalai Lama honors the discoveries being made by science; to the extent that he says that if science proves a concept that is counter to his own Buddhist tradition, then the Buddhist idea must succumb to science! Truly a remarkable statement in view of most religious orthodoxies.
Mani Bhaumik is one of these "leapers", whose early life happened to be suffused in mystical Hindu traditions. Yet, the talents for science and mathematics he displayed at a young age allowed him to escape the poverty and ignorance epidemic in his community.
Finding his way to the West and his subsequent invention of the Exemer Laser (known commercially as Lasek) culminated in his enjoying a fabled lifestyle of the rich and famous; coincidentally the name of a popular television show of the day in which he displayed his wealth. His Hollywood star-studded life of parties and luxury in Beverly Hills is the stuff of dreams.
But somewhere along the way, the dream ended. Like many others throughout history, he finally had to ask himself, is this all there is?
Even while climbing the ladder of success, however, he never forgot the ground below from where he began. His political and spiritual grounding as an acquaintance of the "living saint" Mahatma Ghandi (in the political struggle for independence by the Indians against Great Britain) demonstrated to him how true spirituality can be manifested in the everyday world.
Throughout his early life in America he used his practice of Hindu meditation as primarily a method of remaining calm and centered in the high-flying academic and business worlds he was increasingly a part of.
But when he began to ask whether "this is all there is", he wanted to explore the deeper realms of reality found through mediation; those spoken of in the Gitas, the sacred writings of his religious tradition.
As a man with one foot in Western science and one foot in mystical Hinduism, he came to realize that it was perhaps his dharma to create a bridge between the two.
The result is the narrative of a wonderful, poetic journey through his own life before he begins the even more fantastic journey into the realms of quantum theory and sublime mystical states.
In the process, he does a truly amazing thing. He makes the underlying scientific field of all physical reality--which is, in fact, non-reality--move so closely towards the highest mystical states that it makes the a non-belief in "god" the most non-rational and least plausible conclusion one could make for a human being.
As a formerly agnostic seeker of knowledge, I've spent the past few years, trying to reconcile the remarkable scientific discoveries of DNA, quantum theory and consciousness with the fantastic realms of mind explored and written about by mystics, shamans, artists, users of entheogenic plants and others throughout the ages.
Mani Bhaumik's journey is a wonderful stepping stone on our own journey through a life that offers so many unanswerable questions. I've found that the most wonderful thing about our journey is that once a stepping stone is reached, another one appears almost magically.
And it's only one step away.
Good thing I'm familiar with these physics topics.......2007-07-13
I think this book is wonderful approach to the science of God's existence. If you've ever seen the "Elegant Universe" (I think it is called) on PBS where they delve into String Theory and explain quantum physics to the layman, this book is a perfect follow-up. I think that because I had seen this show, I absorbed much of the physics he presented very quickly. I remember stopping at one point and thinking, "this is some scientific stuff."
Even if you've never heard of String Theory or Quantum Mechanics, it is worth reading this book. Dr. Bhaumik's book presents complicated physics theories in simple terms, and then ties those principles into his statement that everything from human consciousness, to the farthest stars, to the smallest particles are all interrelated and have a single name: God.
When I got to certain points in the book, I could hear my brain frying ;-) These were some increbile points he was making and I was blown away.
The only reason I gave it four stars is because he spends a little too much time in my opinion on his upbringing in India. Yes, it helps set the stage for the life eventually goes onto, and underscores several of his ideas, but it should have been cut shorter.
We Are One.......2007-05-21
Dr. Bhaumik's book should be required reading for all religions! Using the discoveries of Quantum Physics and other areas of science, he proves how the universe we know all comes from one source, Code Name God, beginning with the Big Bang. He explains the seemingly conscious evolution of elements and the universal laws that permeate and guide our universe. Then he shows that we are all made of the same material (a nucleus consisting of one up quark and one down quark and electrons). In proving the oneness and interconnectedness of all, he shows how we are truly brothers and sisters. Perhaps if we all got that, we would stop our senseless fighting revere this beautiful home we have been given and live in peace.
A Must-Read for Inquiring Minds.......2007-04-11
This book has been most helpful in deepening my understanding of Hinduism and Christianity and their Common Ground. I am very thankful Bhaumik has committed himself to integrating his backgound of East and West, of science and mystery, and presenting his knowledge and insights in ways the lay person can begin to grasp. Now the scriptures have become fully believable, though I do not claim to comprehend it all. I am scheduled to review the book for a study group and I have recommended it to several friends.
EXCEPTIONAL.......2006-12-02
How often does a book captivate you to the point of altering your schedule, tracking down its author, and spending hours with him in order to engage in dialogue about the subject after you've read the book? This is exactly the effect Dr. Mani Bhaumik's "Code Name God" had on me.
Actually, it was the subtitle, "The spiritual odyessey of a man of science," that first grabbed my attention and made me buy the first of 30 copies. I needed something "smart" to pass on to my intellectual, over-achieving and under-believing agnostic friends and colleagues.
However, the one whose eyes were opened the most were perhaps my own.
Mani Bhaumik was a devestatingly impoverished child from the Indian province of Bengal. His beloved grandmother died before his very eyes when she gave Mani her ration of food so that he may live. The entire village sold what meager belongings they possessed in order to send the unusually gifted youngster to UCLA. As a result, today hundreds of poor children from India are enjoying higher education and radically improved lives not only for themselves but those from their communities as well, thanks to his efforts and numerous scholarships; and, millions of people around the world literally "see" because of his accomplishments. Dr. Bhaumik is best known for being the co-inventor of the excimer laser--the class of laser than made LASIK corrective eye surgery possible. Eventually, the dirt poor Indian boy became a Bel-Air mega-millionaire, found himself featured on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous," and even dated the Paris Hilton of his day, Ava Gabor.
As fate would usually have it, success, position, awards, wealth and fame wasn't enough. A void ensued in his soul that required all else to be put into question and in perspective. It is this journey that makes the rest of his extraordinary life experiences pale by comparison. It is a journey that I hope you too will want to read about...one that will alter the course of your destiny as well.
Julie Chrystyn,
author of "Body Transformation"
amazon.com
Author and computer systems designer Gregg Braden wrapped this entire book around the premise that God's name is literally encoded into every human body. According to Braden's logic, the basic elements of DNA--hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and carbon--directly translate into specific letters of the Hebrew alphabets (YHVA), which then translate into the original name of God. Braden's hope is that knowing that God's signature is carried within each cell of the estimated six billion humans on earth will give humankind the evidence we need to overcome our differences and renew our faith:
Beyond Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, Native, Aboriginal, white, black, red, or yellow; man, woman, or child, the message reminds us that we are human. As humans, we share the same ancestors and exist as the children of the same Creator. In the moments that we doubt this one immutable truth, we need look no further than the cells of our body to be reminded. This is the power of the message within our cells.
One could argue that this melding of spirituality and science may be the next frontier in human evolution. Nonetheless, skeptics could also argue that this DNA=YHVA equation is an eerie coincidence, instead of a quantum breakthrough--like folding a $20 bill in a certain shape and seeing the twin towers in flames (Braden dispels such skepticism by asserting that the "odds that this relationship has occurred by chance are approximately 1 in 200,000"). This is neither a consistent or easy read. Some passages are filled with dense, analytical stretches of cross referencing ancient texts with modern science. Others are more prosaic as Braden explains his beautifully optimistic hope for peace on Earth. --Gail Hudson
Book Description
A coded message has been found within the molecules of life; deep within the DNA in each cell of our bodies. Through a remarkable discovery linking Biblical alphabets to our genetic code, the "language of life" may now be read as the ancient letters of a timeless message. Regardless of race, religion, heritage or lifestyle, the message is the same in each cell of every woman, child and man, past and present.
With nearly one third of the world's nations currently embroiled in armed conflict, such proof of a universal bond offers compelling evidence that we are greater than any beliefs that have separated us in the past. Through this newly found expression of unity we find a place to begin when our differences seem insurmountable.
In this all-new original research, Gregg Braden shares the life-changing discovery that led him from a successful career in aerospace and defense to an extensive 12-year study of the most sacred and honored traditions of humankind. Through his global search and controversial findings: Discover the coded message of our cells from the day of our origins Experience that message as a universal principle of unity that makes war based in our differences obsolete See the recently revealed fragment of the Dead Sea Scrolls validating the text discovered in our cells Discover tangible and unprecedented evidence that we are part of a greater existence Learn how the message in your DNA becomes the foundation to resolve conflict; and offers a method, and a reason to believe that peace is possible within families and between nations

Disappointing, but what was I to expect.......2007-09-19
I came upon this book by accident and given some of the great reviews and the claim by the author to have worked for many years as an engineer, I expected this would be a logically sound book. I was very disappointed to learn that not only was the book mostly(about 95%) a compilation of works from other authors and just common knowledge, but to make the leap from what the author wants to believe and what he presents to be so undeniable is just absurd. There is no proof, nor did I expect any, but I did expect a logical progression to making logically sound points, which were missing. Assumptions were made left and right to come to a conclusion that the author wanted to believe in more than anything. Very disappointed with this book, would not suggest this book to anyone, and unfortunately I've bought two books by this author before being acquainted with his work, so I'll just have read The Divine Matrix and provide my review independent of The God Code.
God Code.......2007-07-23
Thought provoking. Makes you wonder about all that we don't know about our history and about our prehistory.
God Code reveals a Hidden Message.......2007-07-15
Like so many books that delve into the more esoteric aspects of reality, the God Code explores the hidden, unseen aspects of codes. Hidden in our DNA, and applying gematria (Hebrew letters which are assigned number values), we get a very important message that God is eternal and within our bodies.
For some people, a few of Braden's conclusions will be a stretch and seem far-fetched. However, I totally relate to all the numerological relationships Braden puts forth, so I really enjoyed the God Code. The book actually helped me understand several important connections about YHVH (Hebrew name of God) and the four DNA bases that make up all life. Because this was important to me, I referenced his observations in the book I was writing at the time.
EVERYONE LISTEN UP!!!!!!!.......2007-04-04
YOU HAVE TO GET THIS BOOK. THE WHOLE WORLD NEEDS THIS MESSAGE. I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING DOWN A SIMILAR PATH AND CAME TO THE SAME BASIC CONCLUSIONS. THE TIME FOR AWAKENING IS HERE AND WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME. GREGG BRADEN HAS PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS. HE IS BRILLIANT AND TIMELY...GREAT READ....
Where is the evidence?.......2007-02-13
The Cod Code presents an interesting theory but then proceeds to insist that it is the TRUTH with no supporting evidence. I was disappointed. I wanted to see some justification for Mr Braden's theory. I wish the book had left me with more than the knowledge of Mr Branden's belief.

Excellent!!!!!!!.......2007-02-27
The Signature of God by Grant Jeffrey shows us that you can prove the bible is of Supernatural origin with evidence. The Evidence Jeffrey uses is The Historicity of the Bible; He shows us how Archeology proves out the Biblical accounts; He shows us how the Bible had scientific and Medical evidence that was correct hundreds and thousands of years before modern science; He shows us a code hidden in the Text; and finally shows us how bible prophecy proves out the Scriptures (Jesus fulfilled over 100 specific Prophecy's with his first coming and many prophecy's are being fulfilled right before our eyes, such as Israel becoming a nation again in 1948). This is a must have for Christians and Skeptics alike.
Great start for the true seeker.......2006-05-19
I thought the book was great, though a bit of a slow start. It presents a good overview of evidence supporting the accuracy of the Bible and its claim to be the inspired word of God. It touches on areas of biblical studies such as science, History, Biblical archeology, manuscripts, prophetic and statistical analysis, the mysterious bible codes, etc. A thourough report in any one of these areas could and has produced volumes of books. So this book is really more of a highlight look, at these areas, and yet it presents enough to challenge the toughest of skeptics. It is great for the seeker who may not quite know where to start, and has enough power packed facts to excite them on their jouney. Another recommended book is Evidence that Demands a Verdict, by Josh McDowell. Written by a former atheist who researched the evidence, became a believer and felt the need to share the evidence he has since gathered. Keep seeking with an unquenching heart for truth, and you will find. Sure you will meet great resistance along the journey, but it is absolutley the greatest adventure of life. God bless.
The Statement of God.......2006-04-11
I enjoyed reading this book. Jefferey's style of writing has its compassion but it also has its facts. Sometimes he was a little repetitive about the q's and a's. I am impressed with how the book has totally peeved people off. It seems to me that it must be true. The hatred people express to Jeffereys and the book tells me that Satan doesnt want people to read this. I believe this book touches on supernatural and scientific facts. I believe The Signature of God takes Sunday morning services and combines them with CSI. If a person cant find something remarkable about this book or the Bible then I believe there is wool over their eyes. Please read this with open-mindedness and a willingness to learn. Thank you.
"la bomba" Write on front of "Book Proves God" - #1 Best seller -make a million.......2005-10-05
10/04/06 - King James (himself a homosexual) had the words "Women priest" and "women deacon" changed to "women servants", the word for "young male lover" translated to "wife" and that's just the start of corrupted man's bible. Grant R. Jeffrey is a nutball zealot, another ignorant irresponsible late adopter Republican who comes along and takes the liberal Scientific intellectual educated information to corroborate his ignorance and then bash all dissenters and seekers of truth who don't accept his narrow minded sanctimony as "liberal 'attackers' of the Bible who 'hate' God". I've studied 67 translations in 3 languages of the bible, Aramaic, Greek, and Latin. Never in my life have I found a book packed with so many lies and prejudices. This book was purely political and nothing to do with spiritual, quite the opposite it incites hate and divisiveness. If you stick with the quotation marks, (he watches a LOT of TV) CNN, National Geographic, Scientific Frontier, and yes the Torah, you might get some straight literal translations. Otherwise his histrionic "head banger" indoctrinating superlative adjective editorial comments before his each and every biased opinion "any fair minded person" is so nauseating as to make you want to get a gun and go out and shoot a Christian, preferably Wbush. I was so glad to finish this filth. People say it's hilarious but I doubt Jesus will be laughing. Grant here, truly, is the false prophet that Jesus says "He will come in my name and I will say I know you not". Seriously, such divisiveness in the embrace of all God's creation diversity has no place in God's many houses. This book incites such hatred on both sides that the author is a menace. Chapters 13 and 14, the only ones which didn't make me wretch, his wife must have written. This man is headed for a fiery lake.
No Theologian Scholars or authorities recommend the book, he writes his own. He puts on the cover of his book that it proves we were all created by a creator (Duh) and suddenly he's a millionaire and #1 Best seller. Goes to show how many beaming moran Jack-asses are in the world who will eat this load. I have a jackass down the hall who lent me the book and I'm appalled, jackass listens to his Drudge report. Hateful people must be confronted with love. So, where is the love? Any good books out there? [...]
Not for entertainment value.......2005-07-29
I must say that if you are expecting this book to be full of knowledge as well as entertaining, you're going to be let down. This book is so poorly written that it would flunk as an essay in Freshman English class. On top of repeating the same question 3-5 times in a chapter, he also manages to thrill us with sentences identical to one another 3 seperate times in one paragraph just to take up space. Unfortunately, for Jeffrey, his point may be lost in the mind-numbing redundancy of his style. I do, however; have positives to share. I feel that in light of his horrible ability to write, he does present a fair amount of good research. Contrary to the beliefs of the skeptics on this page and everywhere else, not only does the bible code exist but its findings were published in a few scientific journals as well as both the history and discovery channels. I assure all of those critics of the code, research it with a little less bias and you will find that it is true. That is of course if you are intelligent enough to point it out. Bible code is not the only thing talked about in this book and of course the amusing negativity critiqued on this book failed to make any mention of the number of additional findings listed inside that are intended to give the Bible validity. So in conclusion, please have an open mind when you read this book and after you struggle through Jeffrey's horrible writing style, research the topics for yourself instead of believing the first negative criticism you read.

Comment.......2005-09-13
great to have new view of the world we live in - very refreshing. Author does blow his own trumpet a lot, but then it looks like he has good reason to. Now if I could only find a practical application of this knowledge in my every day life.... I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with feeling and knowing there is a cosmic order to everything.
No Science but Fiction.......2004-10-07
The book is written by a scientist (that's at least what Peter Plichta claims), but the contents have nothing to do with science. Plichta presents an explanation of phenomena in nature (especially in physics and chemistry, for instance the remarkable absence of stable isotopes of the elements 43 and 61), but he does not prove his theories. On the contrary, his theories appear to be forced together like pieces of a jigsaw that do not really fit. The "fantastic discovery" of the prime-number-cross by Plichta is not worth the attention it gets. The beams of the cross consist of the numbers (6*n + 1) and (6*n + 5). It is easy to see that numbers not divisible by 2 and 3 are of the form (6*n + 1) or (6*n + 5), since (6*n) is divisible by 2 and 3, (6*n + 2) and (6*n + 4) are divisible by 2 and (6*n + 3) is divisible by 3. What remains is (6*n + 1) and (6*n + 5). Since there are primes not of the form (6*n + 1) or (6*n + 5), namely 2 and 3, and since there are numbers (6*n + 1) and (6*n + 5) that are not prime, namely 25 and 35 (and many more...), there is obviously only a weak relation between prime numbers and the numbers (6*n + 1) and (6*n + 5). The prime-number-cross in fact makes non-divisibility by 2 and 3 the most important property of prime numbers, which is a serious misjudgement of the prime number concept. Also the fact that squares of primes are always of the form (24*n + 1) is in reality a property of numbers (6*n + 1) and (6*n + 5), as can be seen easily by writing out the products (6*n + 1)*(6*n + 1) and (6*n + 5)*(6*n + 5). It will be no surprise that 2*2 and 3*3 are not of the form (24*n + 1).
The "fantastic discovery" of Plicha that 1/81 = 0,0123456789(10)(11)(12)... is in fact a simple application of power series. What Plicha obviously means with his notation is: 1/81 = 1*pow(10,-2) + 2*pow(10,-3) + 3*pow(10,-4) + etc. This is true of course, and I disagree with the other reviews on this issue. The point is however, that the construction of sequences 0,01234...etc., can be done in each number system (with arbitrary radix) with theory that was already known by Fermat or earlier. To give a similare sequence in the hexadecimal number system, calculate 1/225 (in general 1/pow(radix - 1, 2)), et voila... Plichta is a chemist and not a mathematician, let alone a number theorist. Maybe Plichta should confine himself to chemistry.
The author makes a megalomanic impression by frequently boasting about his achievements and his intellectual capabilities. This is not matched by the quality of the theories he presents. The author also has a strongly developed "religious conscience", and tells us of prophetic visions about his future and the important discoveries he would present to the world.
It must be said that the author knows a lot and raises interesting questions. The author probably is looking in the right direction by trying to explain chemical properties and facts with number theory. It is evident however that the answers the author himself gives to these questions are not definitive...
If you are looking for a solid (popular) scientific work: don't buy this. From a scientific viewpoint it's rubbish. If you are looking for an relatively easy to read work to inspire your own philosophies, maybe this is something for you. Be warned however that you should have at least a master's degree in some exact science to be able to appreciate the math in the book.
Peter Plitchta is a rare mind of the highest order!.......2003-06-13
Other reviews did not mention he discovered 2 elements previously unknown on the periodic table! Also he has a patent on a type of fuel created from a gas from one of the unknown elements! This is revolutionary enough, anyone who can discover things like this is worth listening to, there is no question Peter Plicha is a genius and is far above most scientists and mathematicians.
I won't be satisfied until the avg rating is one star.......2002-08-05
In my last review (q.v.) I critiqued some of Mr. Plichta's absurd claims in this goofy book. In one of my replies I was critical of the author's use of higher base notations to deliver the result that 1/81 = .0123456789(10)(11)(12)... In actuality there is more wrong with his method than I had space to mention in the last review, so I will give the full treatment here.
What is base notation?
Quite simply, base notation is how many symbols are going to be used to represent numerical quantities. Base-10 (decimal) uses ten symbols, Base-2 (binary) uses two, etc. For example the number "sixteen" would be written as 16 in base-10, and 1000 in base-2. Due to the fact that base notation deals with an economy of symbols used to represent quantities, the same number of symbols should be used throughout the entire base-system for consistency. In other words, a base selection (whatever the number of symbols selected) must remain constant so that no symbols are either wasted or superfluous.
How does base notation relate to the numbers after the decimal point?
Just as each place to the left of the decimal point recieves its value relative to the base (e.g. in base-10, the fourth place to the left of the decimal signifies multiples of 1000, but in base-2 that place value is for multiples of 16), so too do the places to the right of the decimal point. In the case of these numbers, instead of representing multiples of the base, they represent reciprocals of multiples of the base. So for any base n, the first number to the right of the decimal represents increments of 1/n, the second represents 1/(n sqared), etc.
Base selection determines the value of the symbol.
In order to evaluate any number, we must know the base being used. The value of .01 is evaluated as one hundredth in base-10, but its value is one fourth in base-2, one ninth in base-3, etc. In other words without a consistent notation, the value of specific numbers cannot be established.
Plichta's problem.
Plichta wants to use base notation to deliver the result 1/81 = .0123456789(10)(11)... , however no consistent base notation can do the trick. In order to preserve the integrity of the decimal through .0123456789, base-10 must be used. For the next number to be a (10), however, a base of at least eleven must be used, and for the number after that to be an (11), a base of at least twelve must be used. If these alternate bases were used, they would totally change the evaluation of the first part of the decimal (.0123456789), so that a number other than 1/81 would be signified.
What base is Plichta using?
As I stated in my last review, Plichta cannot be using any finite base n, beacuse this would truncate his series of natural numbers at the (n-1)th place. As seen here, Plichta cannot be using a consistent base either, so the question remains as to what base Plichta could possibly have in mind which satisfies the criteria of being non-finite and inconsistent.
Conclusion (to this review anyway).
Plichta seems to make a lot of claims that upon closer inspection make no sense whatsoever (like the claim that the reason 1 is not prime because its "root can easily be calculated"). If the theory doesn't fit the facts, Plichta wants to change the facts. Most respectable thinkers would change the theory.
I had a better grasp of math in the third grade.......2002-07-16
This book has three interwoven threads: 1)the author engaging in a mild form of patting himself on the back (I hope he didn't break anything), 2)material dealing with chemistry, and 3)material dealing with mathematics, specifically prime numbers. The first two threads are irrelevant to me, as the book is marketed as a solution to the riddle of the universe through the use of "a mathematical formula, based around prime numbers" (back cover). Let us then examine the mathematical content of this work. First, as an aside, I think it is safe to say that 99.9% of the mathematics intellectual community would require any "solution to the prime number situation" to include either a proof or disproof of the Reimann Hypothesis - Plichta gives neither, of course.
Claim 1 (p.113, yes, it takes that long to get to the math): the reason 1 is not counted as prime is because its root "can be easily calculated" - its actually so the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic will hold (roots have nothing to do with prime #'s by the way).
Claim 2 (p.114-5): neither 2 nor 3 should be counted as prime due to their "special significance"; however, both 1 and -1 ARE prime - what then could be a coherent definition of 'prime number' given this restriction? Also, the primes range over only the natural #'s, so negative #'s, real #'s, complex #'s, etc. are neither prime nor non-prime.
Claim 3 (p.116): we are supposed to be awed at the symmetry of the prime sequence in a clock diagram of the numbers -1 to 24 - this symmetry only occurs due to the denial of prime status to 2 and 3, furthermore it does not continue into the number sequence.
Claim 4 (p.117): 25 is a prime number - I read this sentence about 25 times to make sure I wasn't somehow impaired (due to a bout of hysterical laughter, I am not going to be able to refute this charge).
Claim 5 (p.119): all prime numbers are of the form 6n(+/-)1 - actually they are of the form 6n-1 or 6n-5 (i.e. they fall in either column one or column five of a six column array of the natural numbers), 6n+1 delivers composite numbers as well as primes, Leibnitz was actually right.
When I began this review, I fully intended to go through most of the math in this "groundbreaking work," but I got really sleepy reading such bad math again just to convince a bunch of people that this Plichta guy is a big old load of nonsense. If you're wondering why I didn't include the "earth-shattering" discovery in this critique, its because frankly there isn't one. For those of you who may be disappointed, I'll make one up:
"Mind-Blowing" Claim #1: The number 19 is actually the number 3 in disguise. Here's how its done: 3 is the second prime number, so it's really a 2. Now 2 is the first prime number, so it's really a 1, but figuring this disguise wasn't good enough, the number 3 made three copies of itself (i.e. 9), and put those together with its disguised self (i.e. 1), giving us the perfect disguise of 19.
Now if I could just find a publisher . . .

Gave me tingles in church again ;).......2007-07-11
My priest was recanting during mass a couple of months ago, about how the great divide in the church isn't Catholic versus Protestant or Baptist, etc but the great divide is those who truly believe in the Supernatural and those who don't. This book had me feeling the tingles on my arms again at mass last week. You might think this book has nothing to do with the church, but for me, it's got me believing again. Can you imagine all the things possile if you truly believed like the characters in this book do ;)
I've found Shalex Beckwith, the only thing I've found by her is Gods or Monsters a neat title considering her family, the Clan, who are descendants from the Drakon race, may be good or may be evil, and one young woman's journey to find out the truth, to find the lost Gospel of Light. They have "mental" abilities or powers that they are born with, but without practice won't mature. Blending into modern society, those that remember, those that teach their children, those that practice can do what they believe in. Some can throw a person across the room, or located another Drakon with their mind, even talk to each other with their minds, melt snow with the heat of their hand or foot, for example.
It makes an interesting background for the twists in this love story. They even attend mass! The twist is they also have a rituals passed down through generations to match each one of the Seven Sacraments! They have to attend confession and have the soul cleansed! There are great examples between the church and witchcraft (but not witchcraft) and were all the misunderstandings probably came from. The church might say this is someone trying to paganize religion, but hey I'm Catholic and I celebrate Jesus' birth as well as Santa Claus with my children, does that make me a pagan all of a sudden? NO it doesn't and neither do I think these characters are pagan either. They simply acknowledge what their ancestors did, such as you might participate in Thanksgiving dinner, Santa Claus and the Easter bunny, while keeping faithful to the church. Maybe if the Church welcomed differences instead of being so quick as to reject them as heretics, maybe so many people wouldn't have dried up!
Though this author is fresh out of the duck pond, mind you. There may be an error here or there, but I quite enjoyed the actual story. I hope the author does a revision, because a story like this that can potentially link "the supernatural" part of the church that people have forgotten, back, is potentially life changing! This book has really made me think...
Not bad at all ;).......2007-06-11
Well I don't know anything about the Merovingian people or the law of attraction, but this was a pretty good book.
I enjoyed reading about the main character, Samantha, who seems to have as many conflicts growing into adulthood as I did, though her's are of a more magikal nature ;) I like that this is written from Samantha's point of view. I have not read a book like this before, and it was neat to be in her shoe's. To feel her heart break as she had to choose between devotion to her family and the one true love of her life. It was refreshing to relize that not everybody has the answers or that you don't have to have the answers, just be true to you. By the end of the story, I was left hoping, begging almost for Samantha to be able to just be true to herself and !&*^% everyone else.
~~~~~Just Buy It~~~~~.......2007-05-23
Anyone interested in the Merovingian Kings, the Dragon Bloodlines, or the Gospel of Judas will appreciate this heritage story told as a paranormal drama. It is also written in first person feminine... so if you are a guy, you may not be able to handle it ;) The thoughts of the main character flucuated between first person as the character and as the narrator, I personally like this style of writing. It reminds me of Quinten Tarantino.
The grammer's not terrible but you do notice an error here or there. If you are not troubled by it, you will love this book!!!
More grammatical errors than storyline.......2007-05-13
While this is a fairly good story line, I can't get past all the grammatical errors in this book. The person that edited this story should be fired. I think I am up to almost 15 pages where there is at least one very noticeable error on a page, if not more. One or two I can understand but this many is just a joke.
*****Enchanting and Spellbinding*****.......2007-04-29
Shalex Beckwith truly commits herself to this enthralling fantasy of the Dragon bloodlines whose family origins date back to the time of Jesus -mind you not Jesus himself ' Talents are passed down through bloodline and strengthened through practice as children are taught from puberty, and in rare cases birth, to manifest the energy from within oneself into the extraordinary powers that each family member possesses. Two of the family bloodlines are out of the picture at this time, with the other three families: the Clan 'Red', the Council 'Blue', and the Class 'Gold', running against each other and time as they search for lost artifacts from what seems to have once been a unified culture in the past. Taught in secrecy, these people have blended into society and continue to honor and defend his or her family quests with or without consequence. It would seem that once you are an accepted member, not just of the family, but have initiated into what once was and still is... that you are in for life.
Book Description
Cracking the Bible Code is the true account of the most amazing scientific research ever undertaken. References to important names, dates, and historical events have been found encoded in the book of Genesis. No individual could have known this informationfrom what grew in the garden of Eden to details of the Gulf War. Mystics and sages have long held that these codes existed, proving God's direct hand in all that was and is to be. Incredible? Yes. But some of today's greatest scientific minds have been unable as yet to disprove the codes.If the codes are genuine, they will forever change our view of God, faith, and our fate. Cracking the Bible Code explores the extraordinary possibilities and the furor surrounding the codes in a riveting story that is equal parts holy quest, Byzantine intrigue, and cutting-edge science.
best of its genre.......2007-09-20
My wife and I had seen a book listed in amazon by Michael Drosnin, but we found most of what was said of it to indicate it was not a real study of the subject. Dr. Satinover's book was the book we purchased when we found it. This book, in my view, is still the one book a person should start with if they are truly interested in the research of the Torah Codes. It is the most simple and yet most comprehensive introduction to the history and study of the Torah in light of the encoded information. In my honest opinion buy this book FIRST by all means. You will not be disappointed whether you are convinced of the evidence or not.
Best book on the subject.......2007-06-23
Dr. Satinovers book is very intelligent, well written, and thoroughly investigated. (The Bible Code by Drosnin, however, was poorly represented and used for his own selfish gain.) The only people who do not want to believe the codes are those who do not want to acknowledge the creator. The chances of codes appearing in the Bible or even Mobey Dick are not laughable. The odds are equal to throwing a handful of coins into the air and having them land on edge stacked on top of one another. Well did Christ speak of this generation when He said, "A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas." Jonah came to Nineveh by way of a fish, which just happened to be their deity. How do you think he got their attention? They ALL repented for crying out loud! The Bible Code is to the wicked whose god is science, not for the believer. Any skeptic who really opens their eyes to the facts about the Bible Code will repent, or continue on with their eyes wide shut.
A good book / the new book of Dr. Alexander Rotenberg.......2005-10-24
'Cracking The Bible Code' is a good work, scientific credible, that is the opposite of the plethora of Christian codes books claiming that "Jesus is Messiah", because we now know that don't are valid Codes that claim that Jesus is the Messiah, because the Codes give reason only to Judaísm, as personal pratice, and to the Hebrew/Jewish Culture.
But, the knowledge of this good book appeal to us to know other good book, the best book about 'Torah Codes' already written to the present: the new book of Dr. Alexander Rotenberg,a Ph.D. in mathematics in the field of Probability Theory and Dynamical Systems (Moscow State University), an associated of Professor Eliyahu Rips:
And All This Is Truth!Mysteries hidden in the Book of books
Jerusalem 2005, Hardcover, 190 pp, 117 color ill.
Dr. Alexander Rotenberg, a descendent of the Vilna Gaon family and Ph.D. in mathematics, found a surprising regularity in the encoding of information hidden in the Torah. Using a new approach, he shows in over one hundred examples, that crucial facts the Torah speaks about are encoded in the actual biblical text. The Torah Code method which is obtained from our Sages, is now not question of belief, but a mathematical fact!
''There are already a considerable number of books on Torah Codes. However, this book is not only valuable addition to this area of investigation; it reveals a completely new layer of Torah Code. Dr. Rotenberg has made remarkable progress in understanding the structure of Torah Codes. Happy is the eye that sees these beautiful jewels!'' E.Rips, Prof. of Mathematics, Hebrew University of Jerusalem
''There are a variety of popular treatments of Torah or Bible codes. Dr. Rotenberg's book stands out and is unique among them. Its concern is exclusively to show how some of the most famous and important Torah interpretations encoded in the exact place and verse on which they are commenting'' R.M. Haralick, Prof. of City University of NY, former President of International Assoc. of Pattern Recognition
''Jewish Sages state that everything is in the Torah, much of which is hidden from the eye when simply reading the verse. Therefore, it is invaluable when we are permitted, by some traditional system of interpretation, to see how this is true. The genius with which Dr. Rotenberg has done this using the Torah code method is also somewhat of a wonder, making this work a very special gift to the Jewish people at this late stage of history. One finding, in the very first verse of the Torah, should draw special attention. Here is the first verse of the Torah:
In the beginning, God created Heaven and Earth. (Genesis 1:1)
The author writes: According to Tradition, in an actual Torah scroll, the first Hebrew letter, a `bais', is written larger than those that follow it, and is called a bais rabbosi - large `bais'. It is the first of the several large letters in Tanach. In book versions of the Torah, there will actually be a notation to that effect in the margin written thus: ב' רבתי.
If one begins with the eighth letter of the Hebrew verse, a raish, and joins it with the next three letters to its right, the word רבתיemerges.
Now, the remaining letters to the right, when read from right to left spell: ב' ראש which means, "bais at the head", that is, at the beginning. The letter `aleph' following רבתי - large - means "the first". Thus, together with the encoded word, a sentence can be read:
which means: "The first bais is the first large (letter)". (End of citation)
This is striking, for even though millions of Jews throughout the generations have long studied Torah and these words - In the beginning God created - none of them, including the greatest sages, left any sign that the tradition of writing the first Torah's letter larger is hinted to inside the first two words of the text. This is just one small example of why the publishing of this book is of great significance.'' Rabbi Pinchas Winston
This book is an entirely new and exciting revelation of the Bible Code. Dr. Rotenberg has for the first time shown us how the code confirms the connection between the most important ancient commentaries on the Bible, and the original words of the Bible itself. His discoveries are nothing short of amazing. His presentation is totally convincing. And All This Is Truth! is also a wonderful read, at once a work of real scholarship and a real page-turner. Now this brilliant book will enlighten everyone, and help them to see the scientific proof that the Bible Code is a modern miracle. Michael Drosnin, author of the international bestseller, The Bible Code
From Professor Rips:
Dr. Alexander Rotenberg is a trained mathematician, having received his Ph.D. degree in the field of probability theory and dynamical systems, at the Moscow State University under the supervision of a student of the famous mathematician A. Kolmogorov. . . The reader of this book will realize that Torah Codes provide a demonstration of the inseparable unity of the Oral Torah and the Written Torah. Happy is the eye that sees these beautiful jewels! . . . Dr. Rotenberg is a humble individual with a very important message.
"The main goal of the Torah Code approach is the decoding of hidden information in the Torah, and its method is equidistant letter-reading" (from the Introduction). In over hundred examples taken from the commentaries of Rashi, Ba'al HaTurim and Rabbenu Bachyaya, Alexander Rotenberg shows that the interpretations of these medieval commentators can be found encoded in the actual biblical text they are commenting upon.
All of these books on so-called Bible codes that all just happen to "predict" events after they happen, or just "happen" to find words that support the fallacies of the bumper crop of megaselling would-be Bible interpreters, are laughable.
There is a code in the prophecies of the Bible, and the prophecies do have an ultimate aim and an ulitimate conclusion, but the code has nothing to do with nuclear bombs or international conspiracies.
The real code in the prophets is about the One truth, the Two decisions, the Three in balance, the Four traits, the Five disciplines, and the Seven plus One Spirits, and ever part of the code relates back to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
To read a book about the real Bible Code, try my book, "The Character Map: An Introduction to the Introductions in Revelation." This is the one about living and preserving your life.
There is no "Bible code".......2005-05-20
One of the foundational qualities of the Bible is its clarity (sometimes called perspicuity). That means Scripture's main teachings are plain enough to be understood without the need of special expertise or church-sanctioned interpretations.
The Bible frequently speaks about its own clarity. Psalm 119:130 says, "The unfolding of Thy words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." The average person who humbly reads the Bible can say, "I have more insight than all my teachers, for Thy testimonies are my meditation" (Psalm 119:99). Psalm 19:7 teaches, "The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple."
The idea of hidden codes in the Bible contradicts all of that by limiting accessibility to the real message of the Bible to so-called experts who can decipher the cryptic messages God "hid" in the Scriptures. But such "experts" aren't needed because the Bible contains no hidden codes.
One hidden-code theory works like a common word-search puzzle-hidden messages are supposedly embedded diagonally within the Hebrew text. But that's as foolish as turning your daily newspaper into a word-search puzzle and expecting to find meaningful stories hidden in it. Newspapers aren't written to convey messages in secret code, and neither was the Bible. Both should be read using ordinary rules of language.
Of course there are concepts in the Bible that are hard to understand-even the apostle Peter admitted that (2 Peter 3:15). But the way to discover the meaning of those hard passages is not by seeking out hidden messages, but by engaging in diligent study that accurately handles the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
Take heart! The Bible is clear and even the most untrained reader can understand it. God wants you to understand the Bible, and He has provided the Holy Spirit as a guide (John 16:13). After all, "man does not live by bread alone, but...by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD" (Deuteronomy 8:3).
Jury Out.......2005-09-21
As books on this subject go..not bad. This is a quite difficult subject. As always you have two obvious camps--those so ready to POUNCE on anything with a proton of religion/GOD and tear it to shreads in a nano second--case close, complete nonsense, your full of it, etc. Then the I'll buy it..where do I sign folks. Then me--I belive there are some good points made by the decenters, howerver they can't close this case for me. All that said, I still think this whole controversy misses the point that there is a Higher Power, wheather you call it Ain Sof, God, The eternal One, etc it doesn't matter. What ever IT is- it is the Alpha and Omega. It still amazing me that the general puplic doesn't grasp the spiritual implications of Realitivity...and still thinks in a linear fashion as if the universe marches to the call of a Timex wrist watch. God is the Master Programer--just look at the Genome. It's not too big of a leep to believe that God could have imbedded a hidden message in the Bible. Hebrew after all is a very mathematical language. But I ramble, if you are interested in this subject I do recommend this book as a good starting point.
Proof of Divine Authorship with A New Revelation.......2005-03-31
I have always believed that the Bible is significantly more than the sum of its parts. Del Washburn's work on the subject of the mathematical design in the Bible, a discovery he calls Theomatics, only serves to reinforce that concept.
The Original Code in the Bible is Mr. Washburn's attempt to communicate to the masses the nature of Theomatics and how its very existence cannot be disproved, only ignored, ridiculed, and mocked. He presents some compelling examples of how the system works and tries to describe the mathematical logic behind the irrefutability of the phenomenon. However in the short space of a book intended for a general audience, a through treatment is impossible. For the in-depth analysis he offers two other books, "Theomatics", and "Theomatics II", the first of which I believe is out of print, the latter is referenced often. While I have read his original work, "Theomatics", I have not yet pursued "Theomatics II". He also offers additional material for those who wish to independently pursue a scientific study of the phenomenon.
There are two aspects of Mr. Washburn's presentation that I find troubling. The first is that he devotes a more time lambasting the naysayers without directly addressing his perception of their objections. I feel his purpose would be better served if he presented the data with concrete examples to support his assertion that this phenomenon is not reproducible in other texts rather than simply state that the skeptic's claims are wrong. Show how the process fails in other works. All experiments need good control models.
The other troubling area is that Mr. Washburn concluded that his research has revealed deeper truths about what God is trying to communicate through the Bible. While this may be true, he seems ready to throw the baby (traditional hermeneutical interpretation) out with the bath water (deeper understanding). Since God is not the author of confusion, and since we did not have the benefit of the computer until very recently, it seems very premature and dangerous to draw these type of conclusions when clearly the plain reading of the text was all that we had prior to this discovery.
I would recommend this book to both the skeptic and any serious student of the Bible as a tool to validate the proposition that the Bible is in fact the Word of God. But consider that the spiritual truths as interpreted by the author are just that, his interpretations.
Is there irrefutable proof? ABSOLUTELY!.......2003-12-31
Mr. Washburn (the author of the book)has two mathemtical proofs that Theomatics is scientifically correct. He uses the scientific method in his book Theomatics 2 to prove that Theomatics is not a hoax. In fact he has made a scientific document called Theomatics and the Scientific Method that proves through the scientific method,as in Theomatics 2, that Theomatics is not a hoax, BUT, this time THE PROOF IS FAR MORE DETAILED AND EXTENSIVE. The latter is sold only (as far as I know) through his website. The proof is irrefutable! The critics that are bent on bringing Theomatics down are either emotionally upset because they have to restructure their ideological system because they have only relied on the surface text of the Bible, stupid or deceptive. The Fundamentalists fall under the first two categories while educated people fall under the last category. Their minds have been conditioned in the universities to denounce Christianity. Scientists and university professors have a deep rooted hatred for Christianity. Some of them are justified because the bible codes are recent discoveries, they are only familiar with faith Christianity, this form of Christianity leaves no room for logic. While other educated people hate Christianity because the Bible clashes with their emotions, while yet other educated people will not profess Christianity because they are afraid of being exiled from the realm of scholarship. These are the reasons why Theomatics is not received in the world of scholardom.
Also, just for your information read up on a person named George M. Lamsa (you can buy his books on amazon.com). I think, and many others that have come across his work do also, that he has resurrected very much of first century Christianity.
Happy trails to you.
A few problems I see:
1. It needs to be proven that different people would pick the same word groupings and phrase/clause limits that Washburn has done (e.g., on his Web page with examples, he explains which relevant or distinct words he limits his target phrases to, even admitting to omitting words as not essential to the thought). Otherwise, Washburn could be adding or subtracting preceding or following words to achieve the numbers he seeks.
2. The Greek New Testament text is replete with textual variants. No modern Greek New Testament text, or even any book within the text, is based on the reading of a single manuscript. Rather, the text is a patchwork of readings from the thousands of extant manuscripts, and is created by textual critics who have been trained how to determine what is probably the best reading when manuscripts differ. Get a copy of the Nestle-Aland 27th edition (the latest critical text of the Greek New Testament) and you'll see how frequently the manuscripts vary. Sure, it's often only a word or two, or a letter or two, but since Washburn's thesis is dependent upon calculating the values of the letters that are in the text, a change in even single letters will often alter his results. I know he explains in his first THEOMATICS book how he dealt with this, but it doesn't solve the problem. NO ONE can precisely say what the original manuscripts said on a word-by-word basis.
3. It needs to be proven that other pieces of literature do not show this same apparent numerical consistency between related topics. E.g., if one could show that phrases having to do with velociraptors in JURASSIC PARK exhibit a common mathematical relationship (e.g., by assigning numerical values to the letters of the English alphabet to make it correspond to how the Hebrew and Greek alphabets use letters for numbers), that would likely nullify Washburn's hypothesis.
NOWHERE in his books, to my knowledge, does Washburn provide answers to the above -- i.e., show that these objections to or questions about his theory can conclusively be demonstrated to be invalid, and that his theory stands the test of examination and comparison.
The God of Creation is a God of Numbers.......2001-06-28
The God that sent His Son the Lord Jesus Christ to die for the sins of His people on a cross of shame is indeed the God of the Bible, and the Author of it.
This book is "must reading" for all those who want to know the God of creation better!
I still do not know how theomatics works in the Scriptures, but this book is very clear, it is there, and it will not "go away"...!
