Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

      Book Description

Biology was forged into a single, coherent science only within living memory. In this volume the thinkers responsible for the "modern synthesis" of evolutionary biology and genetics come together to analyze that remarkable event. In a new Preface, Ernst Mayr calls attention to the fact that scientists in different biological disciplines varied considerably in their degree of acceptance of Darwin's theories. Mayr shows us that these differences were played out in four separate periods: 1859 to 1899, 1900 to 1915, 1916 to 1936, and 1937 to 1947. He thus enables us to understand fully why the synthesis was necessary and why Darwin's original theory--that evolutionary change is due to the combination of variation and selection--is as solid at the end of the twentieth century as it was in 1859.

The Pleiadian Emissaries of Light provide this fascinating chronicle of human spiritual evolution from a galactic perspective. This wider history of our solar system restores the long-forgotten connection of humankind with Venus, Mars, Maldek, and Earth. 5 out of 5 stars a true awakening.......2006-04-03

This book made all the things that I've been thinking about my entire life make sense. It was like a lightbulb went off in my head as I was reading, and many times my heart was racing during certain revelations. I think "The Pleiadian Agenda" came before this book, but after reading both I feel it is the correct first choice. I recommend getting them both, however.

For those without open minds, first read "The 12th Planet" by Zecharia Sitchin.

5 out of 5 stars A Good Starting Point for the Quan Yin Material..........2005-06-02

In the introduction, the reader is forewarned that some of the people portrayed in the various stories in this book may represent real-life examples of the reader's own spiritual evolution, (and I'll be darned if I wasn't a dead-ringer for those described from the Virgo constellation!)

This book can be read as factual or as a novel, I found it gripping reading in any case, and if you are inclined to such material, I recommend that you read it, if for any other reason that to expand your concept of our solar system's possible history.

If there is a disappointing feature to the book, it's that it does not detail to a great extent the history of Earth, but does detail human existence on Venus, Mars and Maldek extensively.

Please read this book first before branching out to her other works, it gives you a very good feel for the RA material. The first three chapters of her book, AFFINITY (which also appear in the TANTRIC BA WORKBOOK) is the best description of the origin of Creation that I have come across, again, even if read as science fiction, it will still go a long way to opening your mind to the possibilities, which in effect, expands your consciousness.

I, for one, am inclined to believe it.

5 out of 5 stars Pleiadian Perspectives on Human Evolution.......2004-05-03

      Greetings.

I've have acquired this book in my personal esoteric library, due to my interrest in The Pleiadian Intelligence and their teachings. And to be honest i haven't regretted buying it..

To me this book is a small jewel. An ideal book to read when you feel like relaxing and reading stories before going to bed, or while laying in the sofa. It is ideal for this because this book is litterally filled with stories.

Stories about the history of several other realities that somehow are connected to the us, to the Psyche of our human mass-consciousness as a whole. These stories contain end depict powerfull Archetypes that if you look closely, are played out on mass-level aswell on individual level.

If you are interrested in understanding more about the dynamics and origin of what is going on in your life and in general, on a more abstract level, then this book is something that might interrest you. Understanding of the archetypical energies that are working through your life and through our world as a whole, is a subject that is interresting enough. In my humble opinion, this book does a nice job in bringing this knowledge to our attention, but in a very gentle, storylike way.
This book contains very very beautifull drawings of events written about in the book.

2 out of 5 stars My personal opinion.......2002-12-12

Well this book seemed very interesting at first so I just had to get my own copy. I began reading the first chapters with much enthusiasm but soon got bored and uninterested actually. I also felt that this book got stuck on less important details at some occasions, but that might be just me.

I like the approach of this book but it didn't really convince, me perhaps I had to high expectations or another title would have served this book better...

But I'm not alien to ideas of mankind being related to other planets, systems or nonearthly beings etc.

I suggest you borrow this book from your local library instead.

5 out of 5 stars To know what we have gone through...........1999-09-29

Take a look at this book, if you wonder why we humans, with a beautiful angle inside each one's heart, sometimes think and act totally different from our divine essence. Reading this book, you will remember how we have accumulated our karmas when living on Venus, Mars, Maldek and Earth.By remembering these stories, you can release some of your karmas. Take a look at it if you feel you have incarnations before. See what in the past caused your today's arrogance, addiction, prejudice, hatred, violience, victimhood and shame. And release them. Namaste!

If you finish this book, you will find the author ends stories to the Age of Lemuria. You may wonder the histoty of Atlantis. In Amorah's another book: The Pleiadian Workbook Awakening your Divine Ka, you can continue your history reading in Chapter 3. And you will also learn the connection between our history and our purpose to be here as well as our possible future. Enjoy reading it!

          Book Description

Can recent developments in thermodynamics and information theory offer a way out of the current crisis in evolutionary theory? One of the most exciting and controversial areas of scientific research in recent years has been the application of the principles of nonequilibrium thermodynamics to the problems of the physical evolution of the universe, the origins of life, the structure and succession of ecological systems, and biological evolution. These sixteen original essays by evolutionists, ecologists, molecular biologists, physical chemists, physicists, and philosophers of science provide the best current summary of this developing research program.

Chapters in the book's first part - by Steven Frautschi, David Layser, and Dilip Kondoputi - explore the application of the second law of thermodynamics to physical evolution and the origins of life. Those in the second part - by Lionel G. Harrison, Lionel Johnson, Eric D. Schneider, and Jeffrey S. Wicken - take up the thermodynamics of ecology and evolution; Johnson and Wicken criticize neoDarwinian orthodoxy and present alternative theories relating thermodynamics to evolutionary ecology. In the book's third section, E. O. Wiley defends the theory that phylogenetic evolution may be predicted from a general version of the second law reformulated in terms of information theory, and Daniel R. Brooks, D. David Cumming, and Paul H. LeBlond also defend that controversial theory.

The book concludes with a series of essays that evaluate these contributions and point out their implications for biology, philosophy, and the social sciences.

The editors are all professors at California State University, Fullerton. Bruce H. Weber teaches chemistry and biochemistry, David J. Depew teaches philosophy, and James D. Smith teaches zoology. A Bradford Book.

          Book Description

Why are chimp babies skinny, while human babies are so fat they float? As humans developed greater intelligence--and increased cranial capacity--how did babies and mothers adapt to increased fetal brain size? And how did humans develop our unique intelligence. Elaine Morgan, an internationally bestselling science writer known for her iconoclastic take on evolutionary theory, addresses these questions and more in The Descent of the Child, an intriguing and controversial look at human evolution from the point of view of infant development. Beginning with the assertion that much of our thinking about human evolution exercises an unconscious bias--that we envision an archetypal human being as an adult--Morgan sets out to explain why human infants evolved in the way they did. We are often told how, in the course of a million years, adults acquired increased dexterity, adaptability, intelligence, and powers of communication. We are seldom reminded that over the same period infants became more helpless, more vulnerable, and more inert. Morgan focuses on the relationship between these two facts as she develops a stunning theory of the origins of human intelligence--she argues that our capacity for intelligence is a byproduct of evolving babyhood. Uniquely among primates, homo sapiens are born with considerable struggle, emerge wholly helpless, and continue to be dependent for a long time afterwards--only their eyes, faces, and vocal cords work. They don't know that they're not always going to be like that, Morgan posits, but, bent on survival, they try to manipulate their parents or other caregivers to do things that the babies can't do for themselves. (For instance, they'll cry for food, and only human babies continue crying after being picked up, sending a strong message not to be so remiss next time.) These early struggles, according to Morgan, provide our formative intellectual activity. It is in infancy that we really learn to think and to question. In her much-debated earlier works, Morgan has championed the controversial Aquatic Ape Theory of human evolution against the widely accepted Savannah Theory. The Descent of the Child takes her further into the fray with a provocative new argument adding new evidence to support AAT even as she explores such urgent topics as conception and infertility, the maturation of the fetus, child rearing and parental roles, overpopulation, and a woman's place in society. This fascinating book should be read by parents (both new and soon-to-be) as well as anyone interested in child development or human evolution.

          4 out of 5 stars Thought-provoking.......2006-09-14

Elaine Morgan is always a very interesting and enjoyable read. Here she looks at evolution from the perspective of the fetus and the child and, as usual, presents us with plenty of information and questions about our evolution. The chapters are brief and together cover a wide range of issues. Towards the end of the book she, as would be expected, offers again the Aquatic Ape Theory as an answer to the questions raised. She also then discusses the changes in family structure and finally the needs of the child in a modern world where 'children have lost their evolutionary clout'.

(I must take issue with Stephen Haines' inane comment below about Morgan pandering to the 'FemiNazis' because she takes time to justify her use of 'he' to discuss the child. It is precisely this subsuming of all humans within 'man' and 'he' that has blinded us to to the fact that the majority of humans are females and children and without their perspectives we cannot have a genuine comprehension of human evolution. We often cannot tell if we are talking about the human 'he' or the male 'he' which are different concepts to deal with in our heads.
The irony of Mr Haines' comment is that this very subsuming of the female is precisely what stirred Morgan into her research and writing. It may appear trivial but in reality using male terms almost always leads to half-truths in our thinking - as would naming, and therefore thinking about, all humans as 'American' would. I'm certain that few men would enjoy being addressed as 'she' and for humans to be 'woman'.)

'The Descent of the Child' is certainly an easy read suitable for the layperson while still presenting important questions that need to be addressed about our evolution. Though other books do present much more thorough information about eg sexual reproduction, Morgan is simply introducing another perspective that puts the spotlight again on how much still needs to be expained better. I would have preferred better referencing for some of the points she made but appreciate the thought-provoking writing she has pursued for decades.

5 out of 5 stars The Descent of the Child.......2002-11-16

The Descent of the Child: Human Evolution from a New Perspective wriiten by Elaine Morgan is a book that is very thought-provoking and opens your mind to the biological origins of human naturalness and its role in our modern life.

The author has a very friendly narrative as she takes the reader through the generation of new life and its gradual development into an adult human. Also, you'll engaged in science of human development making for an interesting read.

The author brings to light why among primates is it that man's newborns are more helpless than chimpanzee infant. There are a lot of things that differ between man and the rest of the aminal kingdom. Why is that way? How come man is diferent? This book attempts to answer these questions and others.

For a book, this is a highly readable account, that can give new insight with facts both biological and social, making for some very fascinating reading. I found this book, not only enlightening, but entertaining... it kept my interest till the end. This book is about the human evolution and why it is as it is... human intelligence is a byproduct of evolving babyhood. Interesting... indeed.

          4 out of 5 stars Water babies?.......2000-10-10

Morgan's books uniformly challenge traditional thinking. Unlike her other works, which postulate a novel thesis, then go on to provide conjectural evidence for its validity, this one is a wealth of information which is finally brought into a conceptual framework. In this book, her theory of human evolution passing through an aquatic phase remains the basis for why the human fetus develops in ways vastly different from our nearest biological neighbours, the chimpanzees and great apes.

In order to establish a foundation for her claim, Morgan takes us along a highly detailed, but characteristically readable, trek. The journey commences at the moment of conception, follows the stages of development of the human infant. Along the way we are introduced to the pros and cons of older theses of fetal progression. The difficulties of birth are intense; Morgan augments the event's hazards with abundant detail about the baby's physiognomic changes occurring at this moment of entry into the world. She manages to downplay much of the mythology about 'birth trauma' by showing how evolution has equipped infants with natural defenses against this abrupt shift of environment.

Morgan then continues the development of children and the many parental and other social obstacles children endure. Children spend an immense amount of time and energy in learning to communicate. Parents need to learn to listen to these efforts and understand the process more adequately. While Judith Rich Harris' THE NURTURE ASSUMPTION hadn't been published when this book was written, Morgan stresses the strong impact of peers on children's development. As Rich Harris points out, this area needs further attention, although it's doubtful it would change Morgan's ideas.

Morgan's ultimate goal in this book is two-fold. Children's individuality is poorly addressed by our society. The idea of children being 'little adults' must be abandoned in favour of fuller understanding of how a child functions and why the differences between adults and children are important. She is sharply critical of conditions in the UK [which can readily be projected to North America] dealing with children's needs.

The other goal Morgan seeks, of course, is wider acceptance of her notion that fetal and infant differences between us and the other apes is symptomatic of different evolutionary paths. Her physiological evidence is clearly presented and lucidly explained. What is lacking, of course, is valid fossil evidence in support of the idea. The area that might provide that evidence remains under water, which is where the thesis must reside, as well.

Morgan's prose style is clear and unpretentious. It's hard to dispute information so well organized and lucidly presented. She panders to the FemiNazis with lengthy excuses for referring to babies as 'he'; space which could better have been used to review her thesis in more detail. Still, like her other books, this one raises many questions requiring answers, not evasion. Her brief bibliography is a good starting point, as is this book.

          5 out of 5 stars Great book.......2000-07-05

This superb book is great for new parents. They'll learn much not only about their own child and its developement, but why the child's nature is in so many ways responsible for our adult nature. This book is perfect for laypersons, but it's also recommended for evoltionary biologist. It just may change your view of children.

5 out of 5 stars A must for all new parents, how babies take you in hand........1999-10-22

I only read this book two years ago, at 55! Elaine Morgan haschanged the way I look at babies forever. I have a two year-oldgranddaughter nearby. All I see her do now is illuminated by this book. She, my granddaughter, is an absolute champion at figuring out how to get us, the adults in her life, to do her bidding, in a way that just proves Elaine Morgan's theory, Babies know just what they need and how to get it. All parents and grandparents be warned, you will be won over without any problem at all, you will love every minute of it. This is THE gift book for every new mother in your life.
