Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

4 out of 5 stars Kings & Samuel & Chronicles.......2001-08-03

Are about as close as you come to good historical novels in the OT. Really one book sort of like the three synoptic books of NT, Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

This book is very good and covers the ground well. I wish it were longer.

From an historical point of view, it comports well with what is unambiguously agreed upon as historical events. (David has been getting his knocks lately, but he is still the KING.)

I prefer to think of it in the classical sense, the end of the third phase of ancient Hebrew writings (of 12 as commonly stated) So, if you compared it to Gibbons "Decline & Fall of Roman Empire" you would be up to around chapter 30 of Gibbons.

I read these thing with a critical eye for finding fault, and find little to fault in this book, except to wish it were wider and longer.

An index with cross references such as to Elephantine documents or even Greek or Syrian writings might have been usefull.

But this is a great small book. I read it almost straight through. I think you will actually find it easy reading and hard to lay down.

5 out of 5 stars These reviewers sicken me.......2000-09-05

Why is it that many of the books I'm looking at have such bad reviews from people who haven't even read them just because they are about the Christian faith. Now I haven't read this book but I am currently reading 1 Kings. And if they think this book is so fictional than try reading the book of Daniel which contains very specific prophecy about Alexander the Great and the fate of his kingdom.

I am not trying to force my faith on anyone. I am merely upset at those that dismiss my faith and what I believe as fictional without even investigating it. That is very demeaning to me.

I've never read the bible. I never will. there are far better fictional stories out there.

Book Description

This volume in The Chronicles of the Door explores the mystery and marvel of God at work. In The Beginning, God's creation of the world is viewed from the angels' perspective. Man, the crowning glory, rules Creation in full fellowship with his Creator--until he succumbs to the fallen Angel of Light, and the Door is closed. Enthralling and fast-paced, this book can introduce non-Christians to the God of Creation and the purpose for living while offering believers a richer dimension to their faith.

5 out of 5 stars The Beginning.......2006-03-16

This book is incredible! Great reading for all ages. It really opens your mind to help you think outside the box of what "we" humans think about God. He created us in His image, yet we forget that He too has feelings and emotions. This is a great visual into the heart of The Father.

5 out of 5 stars A promising beginning.......2000-05-19

This first in a series entitled "The Chronicles of the Door" deals with creation and original sin from the viewpoint of the angels. It's a clever premise, and well carried out. The author's great reverence for God shines through. Through the fall of man, the close "hands-on" relationship with God and Heaven is closed off, but the foreshadowing for redemption is evident. In the epilogue, God calls out to Abram, who will of course become Abraham. At that point, I went back to Amazon.com and bought the rest of the series! I recommend The Beginning because it makes one reflect on the magnitude of sin and how it grieves God. The cost of our disobedience is something rarely preached in church. Churches more and more preach on God's love and all the positive things, and try to avoid the controversy of dealing with sin and Satan. This book will cause you to consider the importance of your day-to-day choices.

5 out of 5 stars A vivid and emotional descriptive of the Garden of Eden.......1998-12-17

As an ex-jock I'm not a real guy, but I wept like I had not wept in 20 years as I read Gene Edwards description of Adam meeting God. I wept when I read of Adam meeting his bride Eve. I wept at the tenderness with which God clothed his Children and sent them from the Garden. Although The Beginning is fiction, Gene Edwards has used Biblical truth to vividly and emotionally describe the events of the beginning of the world. If you have doubts of the glory and honor that it is to be a child of God you must read this book!

Book Description

Genesis members and ex-members Rutherford, Banks, Hackett, Collins and Phillips all provide valuable insight into the rise from prog-rock theatrical curio to worldwide stadium band. Hewitt has compiled the ultimate guide to all things Genesis, with full discography, gigography and guide to collectable memorabilia. "I took his book on holiday and it's so detailed, you're reading things about your life that you'd fogotten."-Mike Rutherford, founder member, Genesis.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Chronicles the minutia!.......2004-09-23

Hewitt's book is a dense, detailed compilation of tourdates, LP and singles releases, with some extra resources (e.g fanclub info, bootlegs) thrown in. Very thorough and interesting for fanatics, but if you expect a biography, forget it. The whole history of the band (1966-1999) is compressed into about 80 pages, much of it bearing very clear similarity to Gallo's and Platt's books. Each album is given only about 2 pages of print. I found a few new tidbits, but other books do a much better job with the bio.
My main complaints with the book would be the scarcity of photos, and a section purported to discuss the more collectible releases, which doesn't do more than list a few select (and not all that rare) records.
In all, the compilation of tourdates and discography is excellent. A good collection, but thin on shedding light on the band's incedible career.

5 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable (from a serious Genesis fan).......2002-12-31

I've read everything on Genesis that I've been able to find since 1984 and I am thoroughly enjoying this book. It contains many little tidbits (quotes from the members themselves) that are delightful and that I haven't seen anywhere else. The discologies and gigologies are detailed to a fault (I tend to skip over these) but I'm sure they're helpful to the hard core followers. (I do peek at them once in a while) The book has rekindled my wish to have been around at the band's early stages. I would have enjoyed standing in the mud at one of their outdoor gigs in the 70's. The only thing I don't like is that sentences that begin with...."Sadly, (whatever) has never been published or made available to the public....(so on)" This of course is no fault of the author....if anything it shows the author's thorough research. I can't believe it's out of print already.

2 out of 5 stars A book of lists.......2000-08-26

I agree with the first posting. This is just page after page of stats. Genesis played here, Genesis played there, here are the dates etc. And then all the solo projects. Steve Hacket played here, Steve Hacket played there and here are the dates. And now we move on to Phil Collins, and "Mike and the Mechanics" dates and locations, dates and locations, dates and locations, and so on and so on. And then all the TV appearences for the band and solo appearences etc. Perhaps it's "new" in that no author ever provided these comprehensive lists before but it's really boring stuff!!! I AM A HUGE GENESIS FAN but listing every venue played on a given tour is not very interesting to me. I love their music far too much to be obsessed with their stats. As far as Armando Gallo's book is concerned all I can say is stopping it at 1980 is a good thing not a bad thing. Long live the Guaranteed Eternal Sanctuary Man!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars A Find For The Faithful Genesis Fan.......2000-08-10

This book accomplishes a rare feat. It is difficult to find anything new these days about Genesis. The popularity of the band in the last 15 years has inspired numerous books, none of which truly provide anything new or newsworthy to the dedicated Genesis fan. The definitive book on Genesis was written by Armando Gallo. Gallo's "I Know What I Like" is acknowledged by all Genesis fans as THE Book on Genesis. Gallo's book, however, stops at 1980, just before the band was about to breakthrough to their highest levels of popularity. Others have attempted to write about this popular era of Genesis but have missed the boat, simply covering the obvious elements of their success. The real story of Genesis lies in the details, and in their history. Hewitt's "Opening the Musical Box" does something that no book on Genesis has attempted to do....it covers the smaller details of the band's history that are left untouched by other authors. It offers a comprehensive gigography, something never attempted in print before, and a monumental undertaking for a band that has been playing live shows for four decades. And as if that wasn't enough, Hewitt also manages to provide complete gig listings for all solo tours of Genesis members, past and present. The author covers the history of the band in a way that gives the reader a good overview of their past, but without getting bogged down in the obvious. And every era of the band's history is given equal treatment - a rarity among most books on Genesis which inevitably concentrate on the 1980s and 1990s. Plus within the text of each era, tidbits of new information can be found, and this exercise is carried into the chapters that focus on each of the individual members of the group. Even the most knowledgeable Genesis fan will learn something by reading "Opening the Musical Box". A must have for anyone serious about learning about Genesis.

2 out of 5 stars Not Quite a "A Genesis Chronicle".......2000-07-11

Though it calls itself "A Genesis Chronicle" it is really more of a Genesis collectors resource guide and statistical abstract than a chronicle of the band. I recommend you try and obtain a copy of Armando Gallo's "I know What I like" if your looking for a "A Genesis Chronicle". unfortunatly It contains only a few photos the best of which is on the cover. The interviews are not what I'd hoped as they are really just quotes within the text rather than actual recorded interviews. If your a collector and/or trader of Genesis memorabelia than this is a good 'tool' to have handy. If, however, you're seeking real insight into the remarkable compositions, musicianship, and artistic expression of Genesis you are likely to go away empty handed from this book.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Read.......2005-06-25

Wonderful! The Bible written in comtemporary lanquage with a cultural spin on it. I love it!

1 out of 5 stars Good idea, but..........2004-10-14

Why does it have to be the BLACK bible? Why not the contempory slang bible, or the young person's bible? It is not in the spirit of christianity to drive this kind of semantic wedge between groups of people.

4 out of 5 stars God has more than one way to reach people..........2004-01-24

I was delighted to find this Bible. I was raised as a Christian, but, truth be told, did not want to read the Bible. When I saw this version, I *wanted* to read it.
Don't let someone else dictate to you what you should read--least of all someone who tries to put a "proper" spin on things.
God is not about "proper"; rather, He simply wants you to receive His message. Legalistic "Christians" will never understand this, and that is their sad loss.

5 out of 5 stars The Word of the Lord does NOT return void! :-).......2002-12-18

If your heart is filled with love for the lost, this is a really great way to spread the message! It breaks down so many barriers to the reception of God's word and wisdom.

As an unbeliever, this was the first bible I was actually willing to pick up. This book is the reason I got SAVED!!! I'm a white, middle-class woman who had such a chip on her shoulder against God, stemmimg from my messed up childhood, that you couldn't get me within 2 feet of a real bible or anyone proclaiming it's message. As a book junkie, I would cull through the self-help section doing an automatic rejection of anything that had a single bible verse listed anywhere within.

As God called me closer and I became more interested in "spiritual" things, this book caught my eye. I had always envisioned the bible as being very difficult to read, (and it can be unless the spirit guides you) and I certainly felt intimidated by it's sheer size. I also thought that every bible was as difficult to understand as the KJV.

The bottom line is that this street-friendly and entertaining edition of God's Word finaly enabled the Holy Spirit to work within me. Through reading God's Word, in a tough language that matched my own mood and my ability to comprehend, it opened up my hardened heart and I asked Jesus to be my Savior! (I now own several "real" bibles. I was not marred by any inaccuracies in this translation, only encouraaged to learn more about Jesus and the truth! As a Christian witness, what more can you ask for?

Regarding "the underbelly of the African-American society"; who better to hear the life-changing message of the Gospel? If this book can facilitate that, in even a round-about way, then glory and praise be to God and Jesus Christ!

Another great seeker book (which I found long after I was saved) is called The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus by John R. Cross, ISBN: 1890082147, published by Good Seed International and available here at Amazon! God Bless! > <>

1 out of 5 stars i really like this bible.......2000-12-20

Forget the fact that it is an insult to African-Americans. I like this Bible, because it is an insult to God himself. I mean, wouldn't God want to insult himself with his own inspired writings? Duh.... Get it right guys!
