This book is weighted towards the interventional radiologist however topics and procedures for body imagers/general radiologists would also benefit. Each procedure is covered in detail from indication, preparation, procedure, complications and post procedure information. Also covered is relavent pharmacology for the radiologist including managing contrast reactions. The size is small enough for a jacket pocket and the text is clear and concise.

Healing Photons: The Science & Art of Blood Irradiation Therapy.......2007-07-19

A growing number of people are becoming disenchanted by the modern medical system. Medical procedures and drug prices are high. Technology and research often lags behind the need to treat growing levels of illness. Drug resistant strains of infection, bacteria, and virus retard the process that much more.

Some scientists and interested individuals are looking to alternative therapies. One such potential is Blood Irradiation (BI) Therapy. At the simplest level of explanation, this treatment makes use of specific wave lengths of light to kill infection, bacteria, and viruses. Pioneered in the USA in the 1920's, BI has been integrated into contemporary medicine in Russia and in East Germany. The costs are minimal, the process fairly simple to use, and studies of the wide ranging potential of BI (including but not limited to AIDS/HIV, liver disease, bronchial asthma, and hypertension).

Healing Photons explores Blood Irradiation Therapy in some depth discussing the history, the way BI works, the various ways that the therapy has been used, the effectiveness of these treatments, and ideas about the further potential uses. I completely agree with the author, these techniques need to be studied and thoroughly tested (including long range trials) to see what potential they hold in the fight against infection and disease.

This text is BRILLIANT! Ken Dillon, PhD is the author of the definitive book about Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation therapy. I have read other texts on this subject over the years and am happy to say that Dr. Dillon's book is rated #1 in my opinion. I have used this therapy on thousands of clients and have witnessed incredible results in respect to their healing. One does not need medications, surgery, or chemotherapy. This book explains the biophysics behind how to stimulate the body's own healing power by using UBI! This book is a quick read for both layperson and clinician. There is no fluff, no hype, just facts and the medical study references from the past to back the text up. Anyone in alternative medicine MUST read this book and have it in their personal or office medical library. This text, provided the service is offered will revolutionize alternative medicine. This book, for practitioners who use IV therapies is a must own.

For those of us who don't crave the pseudo-surgical lifestyle of vascular and interventional radiology and are perfectly happy in our diagnostic shoes, this book offers all we really need to know. Yes, Abrams or Castaneda have the advantage of volume and detail, but this book provides an excellent overview of the subspecialty. It's better for a general brush up than intensive orals review but the majority of answers for the written board can be found in its pages. Overall, a good book (and small enough to be portable).

We must become educated consumers in the world of technology. Elective cosmetic laser surgery is one area that has become financially available to a broad section of the general public. But - before you make a decision to undergo any type of laser treatment PLEASE read this book first!
Dr. Lee (a nationally recognized expert in this field) pulls no punches when describing the risks you could potentially expose yourself to. Many providers of cosmetic laser surgery (while advertising widely) may lack advanced training and have inadequate access to appropriate modern equipment. Dr. Lee stresses the importance of doing your homework first. After reading her book, and following her advice, you will feel confident with your choice of providers. None of us deserve to pay for disappointing (or worse) results.

At last here is a book that exposes all the dirty secrets of an industry that preys on innocent consumers. I wish I had read this book before falling victim to one of the Laser Salon scams. This is a must read book for people who are interested in cosmetic laser surgery. From the book, I found it shocking to learn how unregulated the industry is and the greedy incentives that drive laser companies. Dr. Lee establishes herself as a credible author and does a great job in providing a wealth of information and resources on how to become a more educated consumer. Her book has been invaluable in helping guide me find the right doctor and right laser so I don't fall victim to another scam.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Christine Lee and travel all the way from New York to California every year just to see her for laser treatments because she is the only doctor I would ever trust when it comes to my face and body. Her book completely validates the reason why I go out of my way to see her (Dr. Lee - I will never take you for granted again!) and if you are someone considering having any type of laser treatment done, then you MUST READ this book. It is a tremendous eye opener on the world of laser surgery including vivid insights on the doctors, lasers, laser companies, patients, and the media involved; and it really hits home on what can go wrong if you don't do your homework. The book is not overly technical in the least bit; however, Dr. Lee does provide enough technical information to show that she is a true expert in her field. I love how she keeps the book simple to read and understand, straight and to the point, and offers brutally honest advice and specific steps on how to protect yourself as a consumer.

Honest & refreshing review of lasers & their treatments.......2006-10-02

This is a must read for anyone who is interested in any laser treatments. Dr. Lee exposes the dangers and hazards of "laser salons" that advertise over radio, the internet, newspapers & TV. I know how confusing all the ads are since I am bombarded by them. Before Dr. Lee's book came out, I was tempted to get a FotoFacial for my dark liver spots with a $500 off coupon at a laser salon. I went for an evaluation but my instincts told me to hold off. Now after reading this book, I can put to words my misgivings. Dr. Lee's book guides you in the treatment evaluations of different lasers, microdermabrasion and FotoFacials. You will learn more about lasers than you ever wanted to know, what they can do and what they cannot and why technique matters. She discusses the latest technology for skin and realistic outcomes. There are also really useful sections that list questions a patient should always ask, what credentials to look for and what they mean. I'm glad I read Dr. Lee's book so I can make a better informed decision and how/where to spend my money.
