Wonderful Photo-Book.......2007-03-09

I was a little concerned about the price of this photo-book, but it's well worth the money. This is Roffman's largest book, both in terms of length and heft. It's a "behind the scenes" look at a Bel Ami video shoot, staring at least seven (possibly more) of the Bel Ami models. The photography is incredibly well-done, and the models are absolutely beautiful. My only complaint is that the models aren't identified, but fans of Bel Ami will know who they are. This is a fantastic photo-book, and Howard Roffman is the luckiest photographer in the world!

Roffman and Bel Ami - more than meets the eye.......2006-11-06

This is a luxury coffee table production...though, given the soft core edge, the naked young men at play and in bed...it might not be ever found on a coffee table. Roffman has grown with this book...it is still a fantasy...but one created by the Bel Ami folks rather than Roffman; who is allowed to show us how he sees/dreams this fantasy; he has been captured by the Bel Ami mystique. This is not a bad thing, in fact, all, one can say, then, is THANKS. The whole thing works on an incredibly high level.

Another classic book from Bruno Gmunder, the world's leader in gay literature. Bel Ami is a Prague-based film company established by George Duroy, who is Slovak. "Bel Ami" means "beautiful friend" in French. Bel Ami specializes in films showing young men in erotic settings. They range from soft to hard core.

In this book Howard Roffman visits the site of a movie being shot by Duroy featuring fifteen young men. He is able to photograph these boys resting, acting, playing in the shower and playing in the normal fashion of young men throwing each other in the pool. The striking point about the book is the relaxed atmosphere generated by these young men in candid pictures that do not look staged at all.

The photographs are professionally made in every aspect, and professionally printed. This is Howard Roffman's eleventh book, all of which have been published by Gruno Gmunder.

I loved this collection of pictures from the Perfect Couple book. If you can't find the book, this collection make a brilliant introduction. As they tear out easily, they can be sent to your friends as postcards, the back being already printed for such use.

The usual sumptuous Bel Ami/Bruno Gmunder production standards apply, and the colours, quality and content and superb.

Do you like Bel Ami models? If so, this book is made for you. If you've never come across this photographer before you'll enjoy this introduction to his work.

This book is a thick one. It has buckets of beautiful pictures, and a barrowful of beautiful models, all in pairs with occasional group shots. All the models are named in the index at the rear, which means you can search for videos of your favourites. The range of young guys is outstanding, running from the sublimely youthful Filip Olivier to the bulky Dano Sulik. Of course, Johan Paulik puts in an appearance, as does Lukas Ridgestone. There are also some extremly desperate penises anxious to be seen, and some are simply to large to ignore! I can't beleive any lover of youthful men wouldn't want to fall into any of these pictures and be any of the boy's lover for a day.

A delightful book for your collection, and as all Bruno Gmunder books it is excellent value for money.

I don't usually care for this type of book, full of the same beautiful young Caucasian men as one sees in Freshmen magazine. It gets so that I start to feel as if seeing one is seeing them all. However, I make an exception here. The colors are vibrant; the tenderness palpable; and, yes, one can almost feel that touching sensual and erotic intimacy. If only these exquisite photos were only the norm, what a beautiful world it would be!

Beauty and Booty.......2001-12-06

Johann Paulik looks young, boyish, and innocent. If you've seen him in film, you know he's young and boyish. These beautiful photographs capture his zest and playfulness and the twinkle in his eyes in erotic, natural, nude poses, some with fellow Bon Ami actors. There are only good angles for this young man, and these pictures show all of him in all of them!

This book excels itself, both as an excellent example of photographs of an extremely sexy model and also as an example of the quality of these Editon Euros imprints.

I imagine that most guys will have seen Johan at some time, principally in the Bel Ami videos which are themselves outstanding. Most of the images are of Johan, although there are some of him with other Bel Ami boys. How they find these beauties is a mystery. As always, Johan just exudes "sex" from every page. He and the others seem to truly enjoy their modelling and that sense is captured in every photograph.

I would draw your attention to Howard Roffman's book of photos entitled "Johan", which let us glimpse this 'wunderkind' some years later in his life, and you can see his body becoming slightly more rounded and adult - much more sexy in my view.

There is almost a "Hamilton-esque" style to many of these pictures - not in the poses, but in the feel, the lighting etc. They could almost be 'misty'.

Despite the colour (I prefer B&W) this book makes a welcome entry onto my bookshelves.

There's not much more to say about Johan Paulik that hasn't been said before. He is perhaps one of the top 3 all time favorite models of the Bel Ami stable of models. His fans adore him. If you familiar with Bel Ami videos you certainly are very familiar with Johan. This book is devoted entirely to him, and these color images of him are excellent. There are a few where he is posing with other Bel Ami models. The charity, lighting and sensuality of these photos is perfect.

This book should definitely be in your collection. These pictures celebrate sex, not artistic concept. They are open and honest, with no excuses. Enjoy!

Johan Paulik is one of Europe's few gay porn superstars. Here he is in all his beauty. Bel Ami is perhaps getting a bit boring, but at least you know what you get - the colors, the poses are incredible.

As anyone who has tried nude modelling will know - looking this fit, humorous and unstressed is not easy, Johan Paulik is surely one of the top models.

This is a five-star book, but if you prefer some more XXX-action (like me), you will prefer the videos...

Ion Davidov is my favorite Bel Ami model. If you saw him in Lucky Lukas, you would understand. He is so lovely. While looking at these pictures I literally lost my breath. This boy is exquisite! I'll keep this book forever.

Ion Davidov has got to be one of the most handsome Bel Ami models of all. These color images of him alone and with other Bel Ami models are beautifully done, and quite stunning. Ion knows how to react with the camera and display his inner and outer beauty in the fullest. These are relaxed very natural poses, and some are extremely erotic. Another great book in the Euros Edition Series. Of all the 17 books published in the Euros Series this is probably Number #1 on my list. A must for the collection!

Excellent photo book of Ion Davidov. Nicely toned and sculpted physique, photos are in a variety of settings showing Ion both alone and with other models. This is my most favorite among Bel Ami's books. His models are very pleasing to see- no rippling muscles, no obviously animated poses. The boys' movements as captured in stills seem flow like a river; their facial expressions natural and innocent.

How does Bel Ami do it? Or, come to that, the Bruno Gmunder imprint?

Firstly, let me deal with the quality of the book. Like all Bruno GMunder books this is printed on very high quality paper, in good rigid covers, and is quite sumptuous. Especially at this price!.

Then the boys! Where can one start? There must be a Johann Paulik of the future within these covers. The quality of the imagary, the poses, the lighting, the sets and the boys are quite, quite stupendous.

If you're after hairy muscle hunks this book will not be your cup of tea. If your taste is more towards the gym-toned (yet not over-developed) younger, smoother kind of man/boy, then you'll be in 7th heaven with this book.

The slightly hazy, misty kind of photography and the lighting bear a resemblance to the work of David Hamilton, albeit that he photographed young girls and women rather than boys and men. Nonetheless, I am struck by the slightly ethereal 'other-worldly' nature of Bel Ami's work.

Well worth adding to your collection.

Flawless Bel Ami.......2005-09-03

Beautiful men, beautiful settings,and a beautiful book...and the eyes of the models...wow!

My first experience with Bel Ami - and not my last.......2004-04-14

As my title suggests, this was my first exposure to Bel Ami, and I will be going back for more. This book is packed with beautiful photos of 30 of Bel Ami's most gorgeous models. Though some boys are better-looking than others (and more well-endowed), I wouldn't kick one out of my bed for anything. Instead of just nudes, Bruno Gmunder shows us these boys as they play and frolic. Many of the photos are hardly pornographic at all, but by showing us these boys as they play, Gmunder maked it all the more titillating when the clothes come off, and come off they do. As the other reviews mention, this book is glue-bound and soft-cover, so I had to handle it very carefully, especially given the repeated browsings. I especially enjoyed the focus on Johan Paulik and Lukas Ridgestone toward the end, who are definitely two of Bel Ami's most beautiful models. Great formatting, dozens of adorable boys, good variety in the photos, and the frequent smile add up to an indispensible collection. Overall, it is an extremely satisfying book, and one that will certainly not be thrown out when I have to clear some of the books out of my already overcrowded room.

30 top models in am absolutely dream book........2001-10-21

How does Gmunder manage to produce such outsanding books? OK, this one is soft-cover and glue-bound so it will need a degree of care in handling. Nevertheless, the paper is first-class, the images are bright and clear, and the layout outstanding. Another reviewer has described this book as sumptuous, and he's right.

All of these models appear in a range of images, mostly nude, but some clothed. The clothed pictures are still incredibly sexy. There are some couples and a few groups. Each model is introduced by name so you can keep track, or search the Bel Ami videos for your favourite; don't forget, though, that this is 'the book of the film', so you can hunt the Amazon sites for the video/DVD.

It's difficult to express the sheer joy that shines fron each page. These guys really are happy, and it shows. The photographer has managed to put a catchlight in every eye, and they truly sparkle. There is a cheeky sense of the child in each of the models; a sense of freedom, willingness to share (you wish!!), and exuberance.

Buy this book. You will NOT be disappointed (unless you only like to look at muscle freaks),
