Customer Reviews:
Very good book.......2007-06-06
I own the first book "Power of positive thinking". I can hardly wait to read the other two. At one point in my life I was covered with negative thinking and it drastically affected my actions and situations around me. However, using this book changed my life. I trust in God more now, have more faith in him, and I am much happier today. Also, more people started noticing and they liked the happier, more in control me. Praise God!!
Full of Stories, no real direction.......2007-03-27
The book teaches through others inspirational stories; there is no real teaching on how to have a positive attitude. I was expecting the book to give me steps on how to have a positive out look. It is also a religious book, which I didn't expect when I ordered it.
Excellent Boost!.......2007-01-05
This book is an excellent comprehensive boost for anyone who wants to welcome change and new ways of seeing their world and the issues they may have in relationships, wealth, success and life in general. I haven't finished reading it yet - but have found that even just one page a night before bed does wonders in slowly opening us up to change and positive ways of thinking. It's difficult to do in a world that bombards us at lightening speed with so many mixed positive and negative, draining messages. This is a great way to keep your feet on the ground, mind focused on the important things and even if you aren't religious to explore yourself and spirituality. Like a pocket psychotherapist ;-)
PEALE SOME OFF FOR ME!.......2006-11-18
STILL APPROPRIATE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. I READ IT 30 YEARS AGO, NOW IT IS HELPING MY SON.
Buy it. NOW........2006-11-04
Easily the best book I've ever bought. If I could rate this book six stars, I would.
Six months ago, I decided to change my life and head for the military. I wanted to be the best and decided to try out for the Rangers, an especially ambitious goal considering my activity level was on par with most vegetables. My friends laughed at me, I bought this book.
Using this book as my motivational guide and Stew Smith's 12 Weeks to BUD/S as my exercise plan, my pushup/run/situp/swim scores absolutely shot through the roof. I have never felt motivation like I felt after reading through Norman Peale's book and if it wasn't for this purchase, I honestly believe I would have abandoned this goal and would still be miserable, sitting on my couch, and playing video games, not out getting in shape for the Rangers.
That was over six months ago now, and am heading off to basic pretty soon with my body ready and my mind motivated.
Thank you Mr. Peale even though you are probably dead, I am a very happy customer and have even bought a couple copies for my friends. The concepts in this book are the best things that have ever happened to me and have absolutely revolutionized my life.
They can revolutionize yours too. All you have to do is buy it and use it.

Customer Reviews:
Absolutely Fantastic.......2004-01-17
I was thrilled to see a book that teaches children about the value of money. It is extremely well written and the colorful illustrations kept my three year old nephew wanting to read more and more the book.
Money Mama to the Rescue!.......2004-01-17
Money Mama and her three little piggies make the concept of saving as easy as 10/10/10/70! This great little book is beautifully designed, well-written and features bold, colorful illustrations that will immediately appeal to children AND parents alike.
My daughter, like most children, learned her bad spending and non-existent saving habits from her parents, (who learned their bad spending and non-existent saving habits from THEIR parents.) It's a destructive cycle that needed breaking, but I wasn't sure how to do it. Enter: "Money Mama & The Three Little Pigs". I learned about this excellent book (and companion piggy bank) from a friend (who showed me HERS!) I was so captivated by the simplicity with which the daunting subjects of "giving", "investing", and "saving" were communicated, that I HAD to buy a copy for myself and my daughter. By breaking the process down into bite-sized pieces, I learned that anyone can benefit from the lessons taught in the book -- no matter how large or small the amount of money, success can begin with one little dollar.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who has kids and struggles with the subject of saving! You're never too old to learn the invaluable lessons outlined in the book, and I give Ms. Mackey two thumbs WAY up for her ingenous and innovative presentation of a complex subject. This is the gift that keeps on giving (and saving and investing) -- I'm glad I got mine before they ran out! :-)

A beautifully illustrated journal to record special moments and memories in a baby's first three years.
Customer Reviews:
great baby journal!.......2007-08-28
This is a great journal. So cute. I looked at and bought many of these and this is the best one. Not too much detail but enough..easy to write it. Pockets for keepsakes. Came with scrapbooking picture frames for photos. I can't say enough good things!!
This book is great!.......2007-08-27
I was looking for a baby book that would provide some versatility with what could be written. This book delivered. The pages had things like "some thoughts about before you were born" as opposed to "this is how I found out I was pregnant" - etc. It gives you a lot of room to write, but isn't overwhelming. It is cute, fun, and a great value for the price. Highly recommend!
Great overall baby journal.......2007-08-20
i was skeptical about buying this because of what i read from the reviews about it having bible versus and being a somewhat religious baby journal. i do not consider myself religious by any means and none of the versus or quotes bothered me at all. yeah it does say a few things about heaven and being gifts from god and such but its nothing too extreme. if you're a pessimist when it comes to religion then you might not approve. it had places for everything i had wanted to remember for my daughter, and overall i like it very much.super cute.
Very cute with great pages.......2007-08-13
I have enjoyed this book very much so far. There are all the "good" pages for baby memories and none of the frivilous ones, plus it goes out a few years.
WARNING.......2007-08-07
Please be warned about shipping if you need this item fast!!! Normally when I have chosen super saver shipping, they actually ship the item within 1-2 business days of the order if it is in stock. This appears not to be their policy anymore, so if you want the book fast go to another web site!!!

Nikolai is a boy who believes that if he can find the answers to his three questions, he will always know how to be a good person. His friends--a heron, a monkey, and a dog--try to help, but to no avail, so he asks Leo, the wise old turtle. "When is the best time to do things? Who is the most important one? What is the right thing to do?" Leo doesn't answer directly, but by the end of Nikolai's visit, the boy has discovered the answers himself.
Award-winning illustrator Jon J Muth's lovely watercolors are the most appealing aspect of this book about compassion and living in the moment. The simple Zen-based profundity of the boy's philosophical exploration may escape young readers, but they will enjoy the tale of a child who, in doing good deeds (for a panda and her baby, no less!), finds inner peace. Muth based his story on a short story of the same title by Leo Tolstoy. (Ages 5 to 9) --Emilie Coulter
Book Description
What is the best time to do things? Who is the most important one? What is the right thing to do? Nikolai knows that he wants to be the best person he can be, but often he is unsure if he is doing the right thing. So he goes to ask Leo, the wise turtle. When he arrives, the turtle is struggling to dig in his garden, and Nikolai rushes to help him. As he finishes work, a violent storm rolls in. Nikolai runs for Leo's cottage, but on his way, he hears cries for help from an injured panda. Nikolai brings her in from the cold, and then rushes back outside to rescue her baby too.

Fine book that stands against inanity.......2007-09-18
This is a fine book to spark the thinking process we sometimes doubt our kids have. They have it! They just need decent brain fodder, so to speak. The book has beauty in the words and in the illustrations. It ends on a very strong sentence. Not overstimulating, not vapid. My ten yr old enjoys it greatly, so the reading recommendations might be low.
Muth does a great job of making Tolstoy accessible to the young. His is one name I look for when shopping for books.
The Three Questions.......2007-05-24
Three of the most important questions are mentioned and answered in this story: "When is the best time to do things?", "Who's the most important one?", and "What is the right thing to do?".
These questions are carried around by a boy named Nikolai who is really interesting in knowing the solution to his thoughts. He is a smart boy with three good friend who try helping him but can't. He is also a good helper and that leads the way to figuring out his ?s.
The book takes place in the countryside near the forested mountains and in the mountains. The story sets a stage that young readers enjoy.
Not everyone would understand this book. The little kids would just like to hear about the adventure but older children could get the true meaning from it. It is mainly for kids ages 6-9 and if you just want to entertain a toddler, ages 3-5.
It's a great book that anyone can enjoy.
The Three Wishes By: Jonh J. Muth.......2007-05-23
The three questions What is the right thing to do? Who is the most important one? And when is the best time to do things? are very tricky questions to answer. These three little questions have a different anwser every time. A young boy tries to find the answers with the help of an old turlte and his animal friends the heron, the monkey, and the dog. The young boy finds the anwsers by helping a mother panda bear and her cub. Now i wont tell you what the answers are, so you will have to read it on your own.
The young boy in this story is very intelligent and very helpful. The author John J. Muth uses excellent words that actully make you think on what is happening. He doent go out and say what the problem is. He also expresses a really good lesson on life. I think that this is a great book for the ages 6-12. Me, being 13, dont read many short stories anymore. But i loved this book. I believe that you will love it too if you get it now!
Good for all ages.......2007-05-15
This book is amazing. Just like Zen Shorts, it teaches children the fundamental principles of a happy life through zen. My seven year old daughter has taken both books to heart, and asks me to buy them to give to others for birthday presents. I have also given both books to adult friends and family (particularly Zen Shorts) because the lessons learned benefit all ages. I wish Jon Muth had one hundred books like this. I would buy every one of them. (And the illustrations are beautiful too.)
Great gift book.......2007-04-26
Was given to my 2yr old; what a great thinking book. Just adding my two cents to everyone below. You can't go wrong with this book; ages 2 to whatever. Highly recommened for a girl or boy. :)
Book Description
Beloved on both sides of the Atlantic, bestselling Irish writer Maeve Binchy has been acclaimed by critics and readers alike for her heartwarming, beautifully crafted takes celebrating Ireland, its people, and the journey of life itself. Now three of her finest, most memorable works have been brought together for the first time in an outstanding collection that shines with the luminescent storytelling that has earned the author international renown.
THE LILAC BUS
Featuring two novellas, The Lilac Bus and Dublin 4, this national bestseller showcases Binchy's talents at their finest. In The Lilac Bus, Binchy masterfully and poignantly interweaves the lives and fates of eight very different individuals who travel from Dublin to the Irish country town of Rathdoon every Friday night in a lilac-colored minibus. In Dublin 4, a quartet of stories vividly portrays the quiet desperation and everyday heroism of ordinary people living ordinary lives in contemporary Ireland.
FIREFLY SUMMER
When American millionaire Patrick O'Neill comes to Mountfern in the fateful summer of 1962 to convert a dilapidated manor house into a luxury hotel, his intrusion turns life in the small Irish village upside down. The ensuing conflict between new money and old traditions, which strains families and friendships to the breaking point, is brilliantly explored in this truly unforgettable family drama that will live in your heart long after the last page is turned.
SILVER WEDDING
Guilty secrets from the past and plaguing fears in the present surface when sons and daughters, sisters and brothers, and friends and lovers reunite to celebrate Desmond and Deirdre Doyle's twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Among the difficulties the Doyles must come to terms with: the daughter struggling to become a nun, the son who prefers the dreary farm in Ireland to life in London, and the enviable successes of their best man and bridesmaid.

Stories of Ireland.......2007-04-05
Binchy clearly loves her homeland of Ireland, and readers will too. This collection of three novels gets an A+!
Three Complete Books ~ Maeve Binchy.......2007-01-04
Maeve Binchy is one of the best authors I have read. I love the fact that she is Irish and writes stories of Ireland. The slow pace makes reading a pleasure. I liked all three books in this, but particularly liked FIREFLY SUMMER. Hopefully, she will have another book on the market soonest.
The lilac bus, firefly summer, silver wedding.......2006-08-17
I was very disappointed with this book. I have read a few of Maeve Binchy's books and loved them. I couldn't put them down. However all the stories in this book just leave you unfulfilled for an ending. I expected 3 complete stories and was very disappointed.
Good Gift.......2005-10-21
The publishers get an A+ for putting these books together. I have always read her books as soon as they come out. Now I will buying this as an excellent give for others, so handy for the holidays!
A great collection of stories.......2002-10-08
I liked Maeve Binchy before, but I am even more of a fan after buying this set. Unfortunately because I am such a busy person this book took me just over a year to finish! But I loved every page and would definitely give it a re-read.
The three novels in this book are all distinctly different and, in my view, each deserve their own little mini-review:
THE LILAC BUS - Since I read this a year ago, the finer details are lost on me. But I did like how this novel focuses on so many characters and yet you get to feel like you know each one. And I loved how each character viewed each scene differently. You read one chapter and you see one person's point of view, and then you read the next and you get completely different thoughts on the situation. Only Ms. Binchy could keep tabs on so many characters so skillfully. And all I can say about DUBLIN FOUR is that I had to flip through it a little to remember what it was even about, so obviously it's not as stellar as its counterpart. 4 stars total.
FIREFLY SUMMER - A great book all around. It's easily the longest story of the three (it's almost 500 pages, compared to 200 for The Lilac Bus and 150 for Silver Wedding) but once you get going, you don't even notice the book's length. The characters are so genuine, and you are upset to see them go at the end. The main plot is very thick, and yet you enjoy reading all the little sub-plots that go along with it. I actually cried reading some parts of this book! The book ends as you hope it will but not in the manner that you expect! So will Patrick's hotel succeed? You'll just have to read it and find out! 5 stars.
SILVER WEDDING - is the freshest in my mind because I just finished it. It is similar to The Lilac Bus in that it devotes each chapter to a character. But while The Lilac Bus follows the characters through the same moments of time, each chapter in Silver Wedding is a distinct moment. For instance, when you read about Anna (chapter 1) it is months before the anniversary, but when you read about Deirdre (chapter 8), it's a few weeks before. The more you read, the more you find out about the wedding itself and the people involved. However, I found that although there were plenty of sub-plots to keep the story going, the main plot was not very well developed or interesting (ok, so they're having a party, and Deirdre's the only one who's truly excited... you almost get that from page one, why keep going?). And the characters themselves aren't as "3-dimensional" as they are in Ms. Binchy's other stories. I really expected more, but it still wasn't a waste of time. 3 stars.

Book Description
"If your teacher has to die, August isn't a bad time of year for it," begins Richard Peck's latest novel, a book full of his signature wit and sass. Russell Culver is fifteen in 1904, and he's raring to leave his tiny Indiana farm town for the endless sky of the Dakotas. To him, school has been nothing but a chain holding him back from his dreams. Maybe now that his teacher has passed on, they'll shut the school down entirely and leave him free to roam.
No such luck. Russell has a particularly eventful season of schooling ahead of him, led by a teacher he never could have predicted--perhaps the only teacher equipped to control the likes of him: his sister Tansy. Despite stolen supplies, a privy fire, and more than any classroom's share of snakes, Tansy will manage to keep that school alive and maybe, just maybe, set her brother on a new, wiser course.
As he did in A Long Way from Chicago and A Year Down Yonder, Richard Peck creates a whole world of folksy, one-of-a-kind characters here--the enviable and the laughable, the adorably meek and the deliciously terrifying. There will be no forgetting Russell, Tansy, and all the rest who populate this hilarious, shrewd, and thoroughly enchanting novel.

Vary Good Read.......2007-09-26
This book has a great story and it is awesome the way your find out what happens to them all in the end. The language was alittle difficult for my 12 year old son to get used to, but he thought it was worth it and so did I.
The Teacher's Funeral.......2007-07-28
I loved this book! It was halarious and was a fast read- I couldn't put it down!
Life in the Hoosier State.......2007-06-09
In the mold of Tom Sawyer, Russell Culver is the type of character with who a young reader can identify. He hates school and enjoys mischief. His goal of quitting school seems within grasp when the school's teacher dies. But when his sister Tansy takes the teaching position, Russell's plans are altered.
While stills dreaming of leaving for the Dakotas, Russell's father pressures him to do well in school. Yet even Russell is aware of his improved education as the days pass. Along the way, Richard Peck paints a rich landscape of characters that seem to fit naturally into the early 20th century plot with an understanding of the pitfalls of teaching. Particularly the Tarbox family and the salesman Eugene Hammond stand out as vivid images of a by-gone era. Hammond is quite taken by Tansy after their initial meeting which creates some humorous conflicts.
While some reviews suggest that this is not Peck's best work, I would be interested in reading his other works based on the cast of characters in this book. Peck is a gifted writer with a keen eye on the Indiana landscape. While this is a children's book, there is no reason an adult can not appreciate it.
3rd Grade Reading Group, Newport Oregon Elementary School.......2007-04-24
If you like action and funny jokes this the book for you.. It tells me
what it would be like to live in 1904....the activities and the games they
played way back then. It's about a boy named Russell Culver who wants
to go to the Dakotas use the new threshing machine but the teacher is
stopping him from going. It's funny and it gets better and better.
It's long and hard but its worth it...it was kind of hard to understand
the words they used in it. I would read other books by Richard Peck
because he writes good stories. I learned a lot of new words,
old-fashioned talk and bad grammar. I think The Teacher's Funeral is
interesting and most people should read it. (Actual overall rating: 4.2 stars from 7 students).
"They aren't going to put that pointer in the ground"*.......2007-02-23
Richard Peck does a great job of incorporating humor and real life experiences in this book that follows Russell Culver in his hate of school, and love of the Dakotas. Through out the book, Russell, along with his best friend Charlie Parr, dreams of leaving their small Indiana town, and living life to it's fullest in the Dakotas. When their teacher dies in August, Russell thinks his dream has finally come true. Unfortunately, a new teacher comes to the rescue, and from a place he would have least expected. The events that follow show the maturation of Russell and his friends, and he finally comes to realize his full potential with the help of his teacher.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that, while is set in a time long past, can find many parallels to students of today. While the times and technologies have changed a lot since the early 1900's, the book shows that students still have the same feelings about school, and presents them in a funny and easy to read manner. At only 190 pages, this book will probably catch the attention of students with its humor, and go by fast for them. The vivid wording brings the characters and situations to life, and helps the reader to envision what is happening. As a college student who read this for an Education Literature class, I would recommend this for any Middle School classroom, as well as any adult who is looking for a great read.

Book Description
We live in a world of mystery, wonder, and beauty. But most of us seldom participate in this real world, being focused rather on the part that is mostly strife, suffering, or meaninglessness. This situation is basically due to our not realizing and living our full human potential. This potential can be actualized by the realization and development of the human essence. The human essence is the part of us that is innate and real, and which can participate in the real world. The Diamond Heart series is a transcription of talks given by the author in both California and Colorado, for several years. The purpose of the talks is to guide and orient individuals who are engaged in doing the difficult work of realization.

In keeping with the first two books in this trilogy, Conversations With God, Book 3 continues to clarify the muddy waters of our spiritual existence, but moves from individual and global issues to "universal truths," which apply to all levels of existence from the microscopic to the macrocosmic. It is difficult to criticize God, but if he is as pleasant as he presents himself in Walsch's books, then he won't mind the paltry mention of a structural problem. A hefty portion of Conversations With God, Book 3 backtracks to topics that were well covered in Book 1, and while a certain amount of recap is good to build on, Walsch's repeated return to these earlier conversations gets a bit frustrating for the reader who is familiar with the earlier books. Minor blemishes aside, Conversations With God, Book 3 explores some of the most fantastic subjects that people are prone to ponder under starry evening skies: What happens when we die? What is time? Are we alone in the universe? Walsch's dialogue with the creator puts these and other imponderables into comprehendible terms. If these revelations are true, and it is ultimately up to us to know them as truths or not, then the universe is a very intriguing place, and we haven't come close to realizing our potential in understanding it. However, the great thing Conversations With God, Book 3 makes clear is that we can understand the universe if we so choose. --Brian Patterson

Are You Listening?.......2007-05-18
This book series is a must read for all seekers of truth. But if you are not open minded, if you are not teachable then do not bother. You must admit to yourself that you may not actually know the truth in these matters. If you can do that then the seeds of truth may sprout and grow. If you dismiss this opportunity then you may very well miss your calling in this life. Time is short for those who wish to rise for the coming changes on Earth. Listen if you have ears!

Beautifully Inspirational Truths.......2007-04-08
Best book of the trilogy. I noticed that about 90% of the negative reviews are from Christians who tout the Bible as their source to discredit the inspirational truths in this book. The problem with trying to convince them that this book rings true on many points is like trying to teach a kindergartener calculus: They just won't get it until they are ready. Their egos seem to be so rigid at this point in their growth cycle they just can't let go. Eventually they will learn. So I have given up on trying to convince them that their path is not the only one. Someday, like I did, when they are ready they will learn.

I do not believe in the Anti Christ, but it is self-evident that evil is the stupidity and darkness on earth best represented in the western world by the fundie Bible thumping simpletons who think they actually have a mission by spreading their bigoted and narrow minded message to the more intelligent populous. If this sounds harsh it is because I cannot stand that self-righteous, ignorant bunch.
While CwG is not perfect nor it is complete I love the message (actually the truth) and despise the ignorant morons who say it is not right because it "contradicts the bible".
If you take the Bible word by word then what say you to the following passages?
Happy To Kill Children
"Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." (Psalms 137:9, KJV)
"How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock." (Psalms 137:9, New American Bible)
"Happy the man who shall seize and smash your little ones against the rock!" (Psalms 137:9, New American Bible)
"a blessing on anyone who seizes your babies and shatters them against a rock!" (Psalms 137:9, Jerusalem Bible)
CWG #3.......2007-02-14
The best of the CWG books and the one most given away to others. It answers the question of is there other life out there and what is it like. Even if this was totally science fiction it would be worth the read. And I believe there is much to think on here based on my life's research as a scientist. You can't have to much information so this must be read if you seriously call yourself a seeker or quester.
WAKEUP.......2007-01-03
There is a prophet on the earth today as there has been in other dispensations and Walsch hasn't taken the time to meet him. The scriptures have all the information we need and if anyone put in as much effort as they do into reading this unenlightened book into reading the truth, they would be much happier then this book could get you.
Book Description
In nearly two dozen novels about the Humanx Commonwealth, Alan Dean Foster has fascinated readers with his brilliantly imagined interstellar realm–where humans, thranx, AAnn, and other species strive to work together to put the common good above selfish ends. But renewed efforts at cooperation prove that familiarity breeds contempt. Diuturnity’s Dawn is the third thrilling novel in The Founding of the Commonwealth, a spectacular space adventure that traces the perilous early years of this remarkable universe.
From the beginning, while sharing the Orion Arm of the galaxy, contact between humankind and the thranx has been tenuous at best. Yet nearly a century after first contact, the likelihood of closer human/thranx relations is as far away as ever. Humans still find these insectlike beings physically repulsive, a distaste the thranx return in kind. At times the cordial veneer barely conceals the suspicion and distrust boiling just below the surface.
Yet idealists on both sides refuse to surrender their dreams of achieving a thranx/human alliance. Among the most dedicated are a minor diplomat named Fanielle Anjou and her thranx counterpart. Others intend to make sure such a liaison never comes to pass . . . by any means necessary.
For these xenophobes, the upcoming Humanx Inter-Cultural Fair, the first wholly cross-species event, is a hideous confirmation of their worst fears. Zealots on both sides vow it will be the last of its kind, no matter how many must die. In the coming conflagration Fanielle holds the key to triumph but only if she can outwit those desperate to silence her forever.
Meanwhile, on a faraway planet, the duplicitous AAnn watch intently as archaeologists labor to discover what happened to an advanced human race that perished thousands of years ago. For the answers contain grave consequences for human, thranx, and AAnn alike . . .
Customer Reviews:
good read for commonwealth fans.......2003-03-10
Diuturnity's Dawn contains many familiar elements found in ADF's previous commonwealth books. Never figured out what Diuturnity meant. Fringe fanatic groups bent on death and destruction, ancient alien archaeology hinting at an approaching great evil force, heroic female diplomat committed to bringing humanity and thranx together. All of that stuff was sorta boring actually. But the book was saved by ADF's introduction of the United Church... I love those guys! ADF didn't devote enough of the book to the Church and its founding, but he does include a couple of chapters that follow two of the first padres of the United Church, Briann and his thranx brother, as they spread the gospel of the Church and deal with the terrorists. I think the best part of the Flinx books were when Flinx traveled w/ Bran Tse Mallory and his thranx buddy, the two United Church Peace Enforcers. One especially memorable part in, I think it was Orphan Star? or maybe Tar Aiym Krang, dealt w/ Bran Tse Mallory's flashback to when he and his thranx bro were paired up in a Stingership fighter.
anyways, if for nothing else, Diuturnity's Dawn is well worth grabbing for the few chapters that it deals with the beginnings of the United Church.
The Founding: Book Three.......2002-10-15
Long after coming to learn that they have more in common than outward appearances would hint at, as well as having joined together to fight a common foe (the Pitar), the Human/Thranx now must fight the most dangerous of enemy. Themselves.
Xenophobe Isolationist Extremists, both Thranx and Human, join together (the irony is not overlooked) to try and destroy the tightening bonds of the growing Commonwealth movement. Meanwhile, on a recently settled planet, unwitting humans are under attack from the devious AAnn. The Terrorist threats eventually dovetail, but sadly to do not come together as well as might have.
ADF's final book in his Founding Trilogy is funny and entertaining, but lacks an energetic spark. His fans should enjoy it, but the tale could have been more.
A Pre-emptive Book Review.......2002-02-28
Amazon says that I'll be the first person to review this book! How can I pass on an opportunity like that? How is it possible to review a book you have never read? I don't know but I'll give it a try.
I gave this book 4 stars based on his many other books set in the "Commonwealth", mainly the Flinx series and the first 2 books in this particular series, all of which I have read. I like Alan Dean Fosters' writing. His work is consistent with strong character development and good plot pacing.
The "Commonwealth " series concentrates on the early days of Human / Thranx contact and those events which shaped the formation of the "Commonwealth".
I have found this author to be entertaining regardless of the genre he is writing in and have yet to be disappointed with one of his books. Allthough his books written in series can stand alone, my recommendation is to check out books 1 and 2 of this series.
I am buying this book as soon as I finish this review.
