Flash Cards.......2007-09-13
Good study tool; there were several mistakes in syntax and content on some cards, but overall a very good product to help one study for board exams.
Great Quick Review before exam!.......2007-07-03
It was just what I needed: concise & quick - to refresh for a couple days or hours! Not lots of details! Not the latest updates (like in the book `Quick Review Q and A')! It is basic info on key concepts! I just passed exam, was extremely nervous; so looking through cards helped me a lot!
bind them!.......2007-05-14
The cards are a great review for any future lab tech, but they come loose in a stack that is about 8 inches tall and seriously need to be bound! I had to spend an extra $20.00 on two binders to hold the cards in.
ASCP exam is hard, Review cards by Polansky makes it easier.......2007-05-12
Believe me, I only had 3 weeks to concentrate on my review for the MT(ASCPi)examinations. With such very little time, I even scheduled my flight as a study time and to finish 1 subject in 2 hours. I was able to read the entire Urinalysis & body fluids topic while on board the plane on my way to Manila for the exam. That was fast, yet it helped me focus on important things to remember that are frequently asked in the exam. Quick review cards by Polansky helped me a lot, and prayers too. I was able to pass the exam the following day. Thanks to Polansky for such a great help.
A great set of cards for studying.......2007-03-11
I am taking my certification exams in December and got these cards as a review for the classes I am currently taking. So far, they have been very accurate and follow along pretty closely with my classes. Everything is represented and in an easy way to study, with tables and such. The only complaints I have against these cards is that they need pictures and need to be bound somehow. Other than that, I would highly recommend these cards to anyone who has to take the certification exams for Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science.

All around great OT review book.......2006-02-21
This book covers almost every diagnosis that is studied in occupational therapy. The topics review the most important aspects but still give enough detail so that you are not left wondering what else you needed to know.
Highly recommend to any OT student, especially great to use for fieldwork.
Available under a different publisher.......2002-05-04
If you are really frustrated looking for this book you can find it under the new publisher, Pro-Ed.
Good resource for diagnosis information and protocols........2000-05-22
As an American OTR living and practicing in Japan, I need to have a quick reference for the many diagnoses that I am presented with daily. Without the benefit of other therapists to consult with, I am continually looking to this book for a starting place. A good resource for experienced practitioners and a must-own for beginning therapists. Now if there was only an updated edition?
Great reference book!.......2000-05-19
This book provides great summaries of diagnosises and disorders. It is not extensive, but concise on its explanations.

Great Primer.......2007-02-16
I am new to the Customer Service arena and I found this book to be very useful. The information goes beyond the common sense approach to customer service (treat people the way you want to be treated).
It is a training manual for those who what to learn about cusomer service or to use to teach others customer service. It also includes checklists and worksheets you can use to train customer service.
It is easy to read and very interesting, meaning it wasn't written like a text book.
As I said, I am new to customer service and I found the book very helpful to me. This was my first customer service book I read, and I have since read a couple more books and they essentially say the same things as Customer Service Training 101.
I have been recommending this book to others as a good customer service primer.
Customer Satisfaction.......2005-09-16
Renee Evenson's first two books ("Customer Service 101: Basic Lessons To Be Your Best" and "Customer Service 201: Managing Your People To Be Their Best")were invaluable in training our information desk staff how to meet and greet the public. The two books contain a wealth of practical, good-sense suggestions and information about how to provide exceptional customer service.
"Customer Service Training 101" covers much of the same ground, but is presented in a format that enables a trainer to effectively and efficiently teach employees the customer care concepts necessary to "get great results." Evenson covers everything from communication and ethical issues to relationship building, difficult customer contacts, and e-commerce.
"Customer Service Training 101" is the best and most thorough publication on the subject of customer care that I've encountered to-date. The book is packed with valuable information. In each chapter, Evenson includes general information on the topic at hand, presents a brief scenario of a situation not handled well, outlines the key points covered in the chapter and explains each point in depth, step-by-step. She follows that up with a scenario where the situation is handled correctly, a summary of key points and steps, an interactive training lesson, and excellent "quick quotations for memory joggers." Tips and topics for group brainstorming sessions are also included.
The book is well-written, thorough, and easy to understand. If you've been searching for the definitive work on customer service, search no more. This is it!

Medic Workbook.......2007-10-04
This book is good only if you are taking a class directly from the book. Beyond that it is not a good addition for self-study.
Complete and simple!.......2003-04-22
Only two words, complete and verry simple to understand! My first language is french and I've understood every chapiter of this book!
Well written, easy to understand, but..........2001-11-29
Greetings,
I'm 3 months into a paramedic program and we just happened to be talking about this book today (one of our texts) in class. Where this book is most helpful is regarding the instruction of hands on skills such as IV's and Intubation, as well as a good general reference book to find specific basic info fast. Our class has augmented this text with Applegates A+P, Lipencotts basic pharmocology, and will be using a yet to be decided patho text. If you used only this text I feel you'd be missing out on a great deal of background information, that for me, makes the concepts of paramedicine easier to grasp. I would also check with your instructor regarding the workbook, I don't know anyone who has bothered to use it. If anyone is looking for an overview on the scope of paramedicine, to brush up for an exam, this is probably a perfect book.
A limited referrence and course study for the EMT-P prog........2001-08-30
Most people buying this book will not have a choice in which book they choose. I will say that this book is adequate for taking the National Registry. However, I would recommend a practice exam so that you can see where you need to brush up. There is a lot of information presented in this book without extensive description. I find that understanding the physiology of an organ helps in absorbing the information. The Mosby book does NOT go into the detail that I had anticipated in this monster of a book. They will go into great depth on certain topics, while leaving you wondering about others. I ended up buying a Anatomy and Physiology book just to fill in the gaps of this book. All in all, for the purpose of schooling, the book is almost adequate, but if you are the type of person that really wants a thorough understanding, you may be dissapointed. Good Luck
Very Poor Textbook.......2001-08-13
I am currently a Paramedic student about half way through the class and I along with several of my classmates find this book to be very poor. The book will discuss a topic and refer to a diagram or example that will be nowhere near where you are currently. This book is very hard to follow and not at all user friendly.
Book Description

Also included are "clinical" gems in each chapter, providing the reader with helpful hints and important facts to remember related to certain subjects or questions.

Lots of details.......2007-03-11
Complete handbook; very usefull for your examinations or to use for a teaching program.
Great study tool!.......2006-06-30
Loved the book. Great study tool for the Hand Therapy Exam. Full of all sorts of great tidbits and clinical applications.
Hard to use as an easy reference.......2005-08-14
Great information, but I was hoping for a book that I could use in the clinic as a quick reference quide. This is more of a study guide - which maybe it stated that somewhere and I just didn't notice.
Great study guide.......2005-08-01
Lots of sample questions which challenge and then the explanations are given with the answers. It is easy to use. Just make sure you cover the answer up if self testing.
The second edition is better than the first!.......2005-02-19
This book ROCKS! I thought the first edition was great but this one is even better. I love the products that these two therapists put on the market. They have great courses and teach in a way that is not intimidating. I think Nancy and Susan teach what therapists need and want to know in a way that sticks. I would also recommend this book and their course if you are studying for the hand exam.

One of the better options?.......2006-05-26
When my paramedic class began Cardiology and ECG's, I needed to find something other than what was in the textbook (Brady). It didn't offer anything more on ECG strips then the Brady textbook perhaps. The one attribute this book has is that each section is color-coded. It has some good illustrations on heart anatomy and function. I'm not sure how this book compares to the AMA ACLS book because I haven't looked at it yet? When you see how many types of ECG rhythm's there are and how many they keep inventing, it's hard to find a book that explains every rhythm or how to read these strips! This is good for ACLS review including meds, airway, etc.
Excellent.......2003-12-06
- Well organized.
- Easy to read.
- Repetition of information in point form so it is easy to review.
- Questions to see how well you have absorbed the information.
- You don't need to read this book "cover to cover". Use the chapters you need, based on your current knowledge.
Buy this book for your ACLS class!.......2002-11-18
I am an RN and I recently passed the ACLS course given at my hospital. It was a two day course that was more of an overview of the information than a teaching session. I work on a floor with very sick patients, but we rarely have a code situation. I wanted to take ACLS in order to feel more comfortable when a code does take place. If I had not done as much preparation before the course as I did, I doubt I would have passed. This book helped me immensely to prepare for the class and understand all the information needed. Deffinately get this book before the classes take place, because there is so much information in the study guide and you don't want to go into information overload. As far as I know, this book contains the most up to date information from the ACLS authorities. Get this book and Dale Dubin's "Rapid Interpretation of EKGs" for your next ACLS course, especially if it is the first time you're taking it. Good Luck!!
Sorry. so so.......2002-09-15
If you are senior resident or higher in emergency medicine or internal medicine, this books seems to be too superficial for you. And most importantly it didn't reflect fully 'guidelines 2000 for CPR and ECG'- milestone in the resuscitation medicine: various opinions, arguement and final consensus on the basic life support, newly changed tachycardia algorithm, management of atrial fibrillation, amiodarone in pulseless VT,VF and so on- in you wanna see more exactly, do 'guidelines 2000 for CPR and ECG' and annals of emergency medicine appendix booklet printed in 2000. all that changed will affect and change text sooner . but on the other hand, this book has nice advantages - easily readable and well-organized, detail explanation of pitfall and pearl in basic life support and good discussion themes and self-test question. Recommend for starter , ACLS instructor (manual) or physician not related with resuscitation field.
Better than the AHA book.......2002-09-04
I am an ACLS and ACLS-EP instructor and highly recommend this book. Much more details than the AHA textbook, has an index, and is well written. Actually has a picture of WPW arrythmias, discusses Cardiac Glycosides as well as other things that an effective clinician needs to know. Honestly, if the AHA would let us, I would use this as the text instead of the official one. Unlike the official text this one is clear, has EKG's, and is helpful. If you are teaching ACLS this text is a MUST. If you are taking, this text is extremely helpful. If you have this, and read this, you will do much better than the rest of the class when it is time to test.
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would give it a 7. (The AHA textbook is a 2)

Customer Reviews:
Great starter book on tea.......2007-05-06
To try to prevent my niece from spending all of her time in college going to starb%#ks I recently put together a care package of tea brewer, a few starter books on tea, and some nice loose leaf teas in tins. Going through the recently published books on tea I found this one which is a nice paperback book on tea basics. It has a little filler but covers all of the fundamentals in a concise way, a brief history of camellia sinensis, where it is grown today, grades, types, how the market for tea works, tea vocabulary, some pros/cons on how to brew, and has a nice list of tea resources appended to the back. It even has a good brief description on how to cure a new yixing pot. I like it when a "book on basics" is done well for a topic, and this one is in that category. Not a lot of pretty pictures here... just some good basic information on tea. Throw in Okakura Kakuzo, one of the paperbacks by Diana Rosen and you have yourself a nice present to give someone just starting out with tea. WARNING to tea novices, this stuff is addicting and before you know it you will have an assortment of kettles cups and pots, thermometers, scales, infusers, tins and a dogeared copy of John Blofeld's book. You have been warned.
tea time.......2002-09-12
I absolutely was intrigued by this book, read while sipping a cup of tea. My favorite teas are Republic of Tea, I'd recommend those as well! I liked learning about "TGBOP", Oolong teas, how to brew teas, teas from different countries, etc. I am by no means a tea snob, just a tea lover. This book is great for tea drinkers of any kind.
Perfect for the Tea Beginner.......2002-01-04
This book impressed me. It is easy to read, has a personal feel, and covers all of the basics (what tea is, history, where it is produced, how to brew it, tea tasting, tea ceremonies, etc). Many resources are listed in the back. I have five books on tea so far (a beginner), and this is my favorite. If you only want one book on tea, this is my recommendation. The health section is pretty basic, so if that interests you, you might want to also look at a health-related tea book (green tea). This book describes the general regions, whereas the Tea Companion book describes the individual tea gardens (which may or may not be useful to you.)

Product Description
Everyone knows it - spoken agreements arent worth the paper theyre written on. The SMB Consultant is facing changes we never imagined a few years ago. Managed services are everywhere. Franchised tech support is taking off. And now big corporations are trying to compete in the "SMB Space." Whether you like it or not, you need to make some changes in order to meet the challenges of the next few years. Service agreements literally define your business. If youre not using them, you need to start today. If you are using them, great! Just make sure that they truly represent who you are and how you want to define your business. Whether you sell your services hourly, in blocks of time, or with a Managed Services plan, you need a good service agreement. You need this book! As with his other books, Karl gives you more than just the forms. This book includes best practices and lots of great information to help you run your business more prosperously! A CD with the critical forms and agreements is included!
Customer Reviews:
This is it. Everything you need.......2007-06-26
This is the book to have on your shelf. Karl will walk you through how his contracts are setup, what the parts mean, and the basic structure of delivering managed services via a contract vehicle. You can't get this kind of consulting help this easily, and Karl will give you everything you need. I highly recommend it.
Must Read For Service Contract-Minded IT Consultants.......2007-05-26
If you want to offer service agreements to your IT customers, or are not sure of the value of selling service agreements, buy and read this book. When you are finished, you will be able to start offering service agreements - it's as simple as that. Thanks to Karl, I'm in the process of proposing 4 service agreements. The $50.00 for the book will be paid for by the first one so it's definitely money well-spent. On that note, I appreciate the short, concise format because that made it that much easier and faster to read. Technology books with hundreds of pages are more often than not nothing but "fat." Not with Karl's book - lean and right to the point.
Whether you know nothing, something, or a lot about IT service agreements, this book is an excellent resource. It will show you nearly everything you need to know about service agreements, from the perspective of someone who is obviously very adept at running his own IT business.
In the past when I tried to come up with something on my own, I just stared at a blank screen. Although I could come up with a handful of bullets of what should be included in a service agreement, Karl points out many things I hadn't thought of, including what not to cover. He also provides actual frameworks and examples of the agreement language. I really like his practice of having more than one type of agreement.
Worth it.......2007-05-08
Hard to justify the cost for such a small book. However, the value lies in what you get out of the book. I would give it 5 stars if they weren't so greedy in pricing this small book so high.
worth its weight in gold.......2007-02-27
Wow! This book only cost me $50, and as far as I can see, gives me all the info I need to offer clear managed services contracts to businesses that just want their computer system to work. Mr. Palachuk tells how his company structures their contracts, but also gives you all of your options, because as he says, everyone is different and has to be comfortable with the services they offer. His writing style is excellent. He uses humor, but there are not so many jokes that you get distracted. He is clear and organized. I give this book my highest recommendation to anyone in the I.T. service business, whether you want to offer contracts, blocks of hours, or provide service on an as-needed basis. It doesn't matter if you're just starting out or a veteran. This book has many golden nuggets of knowledge for you!
Wow.......2006-11-17
The following is the letter I sent to Karl regarding his book. This is without question a must read for anyone implementing or considering the Managed Services model.
******************
Karl,
I wanted to pass on a quick note regarding your book "Service Agreements for SMB Consultants."
I received this book as a prize during Amy Luby's SMB road show in Cincinnati. At first I didn't appreciate the value of what I had won.
Not being a "computer geek T-Shirt" kind of guy, I was happy to have won something else. Even though I was not familiar with your writing, I thought it was certainly worth checking out for free.
All I can say is "WOW!" I am blown away at how you were able to take a book about contracts (not an exciting topic by any stretch of the
imagination) not only readable, but even somewhat enjoyable. Not only that, I was able to take your contracts and make relatively minor modifications and get them through the lawyer with very little change (another amazing task as most lawyers like to justify their worth by making a final copy look nothing like the original).
We have jumped head first into the Managed Services realm of IT. Since going live two months ago [July 2006] we are generating a lot of interest in this arena within our professional circle here in the Cincinnati area. It's a great concept (as proactive concepts always are) and it's a real win-win situation for us and our customers.
Your book was certainly an invaluable asset as we were researching and trying to figure out how to swim in these murky waters. I should also add that Amy Luby and her team were also a great inspiration for us. We had stumbled upon a loose version of this concept about a year ago and were struggling with a way to formalize it and make it work. Between your book and Amy's experiences we were able to come up with a solid foundation to tie all the loose pieces together.
