Black Belt Memory Yogger .......2007-03-09
The Black Belt Memory Yogger is a handy pocket guide for people involved with six sigma processes. I like the why use it and what does it do questions. Good quick review of basic statistics and tools.
Handy and Useful, but pricey.......2003-02-21
This book is a concise reference for use by practitioners and those on the shop floor. I use it daily in our one square mile manufacturing complex.
Our people understand the tools with help of the illustrations. The how to use the tools is clear. Sure some may be overwhelmed by the statistical detail; however, the graphs are useful in showing folks what we as a team are working towards.
At only 265 pages, this spiral book is pricey, but that's expected from the millionaires of the Six Sigma Academy. ASQ's entries into this segment pale in comparison. Overall, I use it in any public course offering I teach. Keep it simple!
Product Description
In search of the perfect human diet, Victoria Boutenko compares the standard American diet with the diet of wild chimpanzees. Chimpanzees share an estimated 99.4% of genes with humans, but their diet is dramatically different from ours. The most glaring difference is that chimpanzees consume significantly more green leaves than humans. Victoria developed a series of greens smoothies that enable anyone to consume the necessary amount of greens in a very palatable way.

Green for Life.......2007-09-26
I enjoyed this book very much and as much as I enjoy green vegtables there is no way I could eat as many as I need, also I can't chew them that well so this book has given me a way to do it and it is wonderful. I own a Vita Mix and it makes great green smoothies and drinking is much easier than chewing although I still eat salads, I am very grateful for what I am learning, I can't say I am use to drinking them yet but they aren't bad at all and I am getting use to all of this. I thank Victoria Boutenko for all of her work and for her book, it is changing the way I eat.
I love green juice!.......2007-09-24
Wonderful book!
I am not a raw foodist. I love the concept of the lifestyle, but have only been able to do it in small bursts. I can last for about 3 weeks before I'm dying for pizza and cheeseburgers!
I juice every single morning and this book has wonderful juices and smoothies. I especially love the mint, kale, pear smoothie! AMAZING!
I recommend this book even if you aren't a vegetarian/vegan/raw foodist.
User-Friendly and Inspirational!!!.......2007-09-20
Victoria has written one of the most user-friendly nutritional books I have ever read. She takes what very well could be a sweaty subject for most readers, and presents the information concisely, anecdotally, invigoratingly, and with pizazz!
This book details the benefits of transitioning to a raw foods lifestyle. I do not say 'diet' because this is not a diet at all, it is actually a way of life. A mind-blowing, body-transforming, attitude-improving, way of life. Sure, some people will employ the raw foods techniques to enhance their diet, but if you truly want to feel the 'epiphany' (and yes, you will have one if you stick to it), you must commit to living 'green' as fully as you can.
In her book, Victoria starts off with an inspirational message. She challenges everyone to seek their own personal truths, and to never accept what is read for fact until one has personally experienced it. She then goes on to discuss her personal journey and her family's journey into the raw food lifestyle - their pitfalls, their triumphs, and ultimately how it changed their lives for the better.
Victoria provides information on 'green smoothies' and how they have a profound impact on one's health. She also talks about nutritional aspects of traditional SAD (Standard American Diet) versus the Raw Food lifestyle.
Without getting too fussy or overly-technical, she emphasizes the need for fiber, protein, chlorophyll, and also introduces something I never considered - the pH of your stomach juices (aka acidity/alkalinity level), how to measure them, and how they play a key role in whether you 'sink' or 'swim' through life.
She ends her book with Testimonials from a test group who participated in a test study that she herself funded along with friends.
This book was a quick read (took me 4 hours cover-to-cover), easy to understand, realistic in its testimonials, personable, and anecdotal. The Green Smoothie recipes provided were simple and yummy!
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is even minutely curious about the raw food lifestyle, specifically green smoothies, and living more green. It is understood that not everyone can live 100% raw, but Victoria encourages us to do our best and that even small steps will improve your health.
I AGREE W/DONNETTE.......2007-09-11
YES, THIS IS BEST FOR THOSE ALREADY RAW EATERS. HOWEVER, ANYONE CAN GET EXCELLENT INFORMATION FROM THIS BOOK. OF ALL THE RAW BOOKS I'VE READ, PROBABLY ABOUT 100, THIS ONE COMES SECOND ONLY TO 'NATURE'S FIRST LAW'.
VICTORIA'S RESEARCH IS VERY GOOD AND HER EXPLANATIONS ARE ASTOUNDING. SO MUCH INFORMATION IN THIS BOOK!!!! AND THE SMOOTHIES ARE TERRIFIC!
Great book, but best for those already eating raw.......2007-09-11
This is a lovely book. It is heartening to hear how the Boutenkos cured themselves of terrible diseases with raw foods. I think it provides a great service to those on raw foods in that it reminds us of how important it is to balance the kinds of raw foods we eat. I was apprehensive about some of the recipes for the smoothies because I thought they wouldn't taste that good, but the ones I have tried have turned out to be very tasty indeed. For those who want to learn how to go raw I would recommend Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine by Cousens and LifeFood Recipe Book by Jubb & Jubb.

Pink, pink, pink. More than anything, Pinkalicious loves pink, especially pink cupcakes. Her parents warn her not to eat too many of them, but when Pinkalicious does . . . she turns pink! What to do?
This sparkling picture book, filled with such favorites as pink bubble gum, pink peonies, pink cotton candy, and pink fairy princess dresses, celebrates all things pink while showing that being yourself is best of all.

My 2 year old loves this book.......2007-09-18
This is a great, short, funny book for preschoolers. It is just an easy read with a simple story. A little girl is indulgent and eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink... Highly recommended as a great read over and over story. It isn't the most clever writing but rather a fun story.
Buy the book Fancy Nancy instead.......2007-09-08
I was disappointed in this Pinkalicious book. If you have not already purched the book Fancy Nancy for your daughter you should -- much better book! My daughter is 5 and she still loves her Fancy Nancy book -- it is appropriate for ages 2-5 I'd say.
Adorable book.......2007-09-07
My daughter and I both just love this book. It is so well written and illustrated that it's a complete pleasure to read OVER and OVER and OVER. Neither of us get sick of it. So simple, yet so clever ...
Awesome book..........2007-08-24
My girls have enjoyed reading this story every single night since we purchased it. I definitely recommend this book to others. The illustrations are also so very cool.
My granddaughter's delight.......2007-08-23
A friend told me how her daughter loves this book so I bought it for my grand-daughter (4). We have read it almost every night since we got it. She reads the word "pink" each time it comes up which makes her feel like she is reading. Great book! Pictures are really neat too. I recommend it for everyone who loves pink!

The book came very quickly. The book's condition was very good. I really appreciate it.
: ).......2007-07-16
I had to buy this book for school, but I actually enjoyed it. I don't usually read text books, but this was one worth reading. Very interesting facts, and really helps to spark interest about language.
IT IS A GOOD BOOK.......2007-07-05
I LIKE THE BOOK BECAUSE IT HELPED ME A LOT IN MY CLASS... IT HAVE A LOT OF INFORMATION THAT IS VERY USEFUL...
The best basic level introduction, but overpriced.......2006-12-12
This is, hands down, the best book to take a rank beginner and introduce him or her to the science of linguistics. The price, however, has placed it out of reach of my introductory courses in linguistics. It's sad that such an important volume has become unavailable as a text in many courses.
Continuing Education.......2006-03-14
For those of us wishing to continue learning, this is a very educational book. It is written so that you can consume small chunks, digest them, and come back for more.

But the patriarch's isn't the only ghost around. The place is lousy with souls, all with something to get off their ghoulish chests. Now M.J. will have to to quell the clamor-and listen for a voice with the answers...

Very disappointing.......2007-10-04
I couldn't even finish this book, I made it halfway through and couldn't take the romantic interest any longer. I've never not finished a book before, but with all the "How you say.." crap I couldn't take it and I really wanted to like it. Most of the reviews were good ones I just don't understand what I missed. I even tried to give it another chance but still couldn't get into it.
Fun new series!.......2007-09-06
I am ashamed to say that I did not purchase this book, but read it from the library. I am a loyal fan of Abby Cooper, so for some reason I resisted change and did not think I could like this series as well. Chalk another up for Ms. Laurie, I loved it!! It gave me the creepy crawlies at times, but that was part of the fun. MJ is a likeable character, and even though I'd normally say there's overuse of the "gay best friend" in chick lit land, Gilley is a good sidekick for MJ. My only teensy weensy dislike was that Steven's misuse of the English language got a little tiresome, and there were a few phrases that didn't seem natural for him to botch the way he did. But who cares. The storyline was well thought out, and interesting to read, and as with Abby Cooper's Psychic eye mysteries, Ms. Laurie has given a glimpse of her gift in fiction format, making me want to learn more. I see that "Crime Seen" is out, so I'd better hop down to Barnes to get it, and while I'm at it, I'll probably pick up "Ghoul" as well, since I'll want to read it again.
A fun start to a new series.......2007-08-31
What's a Ghoul to Do? is book 1 in a new series (Ghost Hunter Mysteries) by Victoria Laurie. M.J. and her partner Gilley, initially made a appearance in Book 3 (A Vision of Murder) of her Psychic Eye Mystery series.
M.J. is a medium, who enjoys using her gift to "bust" ghosts. She helps send them where they belong...to the other side. Gilley is her business partner and best friend. The two find themselves on a case where the client, Dr. Sable, wishes to contact his grandfather's ghost. Plus, he wants to be involved in the investigation process.
I had a fun time reading this story. I liked the quirky characters. M.J. owns a parrot named Doc, who has that name after a distant relative, Doc Holliday. That made me smile. I also think the author did a great job with Dr. Sable's broken English. I found reading his dialog parts highly entertaining. Plus, I liked the twists and turns and layers she created with this mystery as well.
All in all...a quick read that makes for a good time and a perfect commuter read.
How do you say, Big Disappointment .......2007-08-28
I love Victoria Laurie's Psychic Eye series, I've enjoyed each Abby Cooper book and highly recommend to readers of Romance and/or Mystery. So when I saw "What's A Ghoul to Do?", a new series, I was eager to read more by this author. I was sadly disappointed, and found it very annoying! Victoria Laurie is a good enough writer that I was able to force myself to finish reading the book, just so I could find out what happened, but I won't bother reading the next one. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who does chose to read it but the hero has a really really annoying habit that might be charming in real life but has a serious cringe factor on paper. And the torture never ends, it is throughout the book! (WARNING -- SPOILER FOLLOWS)
It is the equivalent of having a character mispronounce words, then another character constantly correcting the mispronounciation!! Oh right, what is annoying in real life becomes excruciating on paper! And at the end, we find this annoying guy will return in the second book. Lets hope he learns to saw the english, I mean, speak english, before then. Aaagh!
Wonderfully refreshing..............2007-08-17
I've read alot of wonderful reviews about Vickie's books, and I decided to give them a try. Really enjoyed reading this book. The story has a touch of paranormal mixed with a realistic theme. I also have to give her a thumbs-up with the characters, and even the minor charcters were very well introduced and played out. Liked this book so well that I've pre-ordered the second book of this series. Read this book, I think that you will enjoy it. Also glad that she is making this book into a series.
Book Description
This market-leading book introduces college students to the breadth and spatial insights of the field of geography. The authors' approach allows the major research traditions of geography to dictate the principal themes. Chapter 1 introduces students to the four organizing traditions that have emerged through the long history of geographical thought and writing: earth science, culture-environment, location, and area analysis. Each of the four parts of this book centers on one of these geographic perspectives.

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Customer Reviews:
Throughly enjoyable.......2007-08-21
What A Lady Wants is a keeper. I absolutely love the premise behind this series (four confirmed bachelors making a bet as to who will be the last man standing). Victoria Alexander has written a story that is lighthearted, witty and imaginative without being sappy or silly. If you are looking for a book that is pure fun and won't make you think too hard, give this one a try. I have also read the first book in this series (A Little Bit Wicked) and can't wait for the third book in this delightful series to come out.
Delightful!.......2007-07-09
Victoria scores again! This is a wonderful novel and a wonderful follow up to "A little bit wicked". Victoria's charachters are wonderful, especially her damsels who might think they are in distress but are actually funny, smart and self-sufficent ladies who know exactly what they want and how to goet it.
My only criticism is that she can't produce books fast enough to keep me satisfied! keep them comming! I look forward to the next one!
Cute.......2007-07-03
This is the first book I have read by this author, and though I was not necessarily thrilled with this book, I don't know that I would anticipate her future releases with bated breath. It was cute. Not great, but certainly not the worst I've read. As a matter of fact, I found the first 2/3 of the book rather amusing. But it lost its charm after that, and the heroine went from declaring she would marry the hero to giving up her quest entirely. For no apparent reason. All he did was deny (for the umpteen-millionth time) that he had no desire to be wed. And it suddenly sunk in? The change was too abrupt. Then, again for no apparent reason, she wakes up in the middle of the night determined to have him again. Huh? Now, if she'd doubted herself at all during this time, it might have made her more real to me. As she was written, though, she was too wishy-washy for my taste.
for a certain type of reader.......2007-03-15
If you like the romances where the heroine tricks or coerces the clueless hero into falling in love with her/marrying her, with the assistance of a gaggle of giggling girlfriends, then this is the book for you. For me, it is hard to read the numerous scenes where she has cornered him into doing something that he doesn't want to do, but, once he does it, it supposedly advances their relationship. If you like these kinds of scenarios, this book is for you. Otherwise, I would skip it, because it will drive you nutty.
A great book.......2007-03-08
This is the second book I've read by this author, and technically I bought it on a whim online. Not sure if it was fate but I really enjoyed this book, the pacing was great and the banter between Nigel and Felicity was sharp and witty and laugh out loud in some spots. Ms. Alexander created two very strong and well drawn characters and that is what really makes this book stand out.

A Must Have for Women Seeking to Launch Themselves and Their Ideas to Success.......2007-09-12
As a business and personal coach working primarily with female solopreneurs, creatives, and nonprofit/education professionals, I was familiar and impressed with the Ladies Who Launch incubator concept prior to reading the book. Nevertheless, I was so pleasantly surprised with the authors' synthesis of their own contextualized theories with concrete tips and imaginative stories, I frequently had to put the book down to record the many business building, marketing, and networking ideas it threw up for me. While the book is straightforward and accessible, it also engages with other contemporary books on female business ownership, branding, and women's ways of learning and avoids the traps of many other books in the genre that simply regurgitate information already available.
Great book.......2007-07-23
At last you don't have to spend tons to get the secrets from the Ladies Who Launch. Buy the book instead!
Very inspiring and these ladies have defined what it is to be a working girl in her own right. Great insights into perceptions of work in today's society.
There are more options to today than ever before--look for something to sell online and you have a worldwide sales base. .......2007-07-11
I love the tips for creating a more interesting lifestyle, based on your own personal interests and needs. I started selling books on Amazon, because I realized, while reading this book and others, that I was looking for part-time work rather than a full time business proposition. I wanted a different lifestyle and more money, but I didn't want to work the long hours to get it. So I chose selling used books on Amazon because it's so low-risk, with almost no investment income, or overhead, and the returns are so high. If you have an interest in something like this, find something you like and take advanatge of the world wide web--it's the biggest bazaar in history, operating across the globe, 24-hours a day--so you're bound to succeed with a few guidelines. I'm making great money while workking less time--I love it. Colligan is right make creativity a lifestlye.

Empowering book for woman.......2007-07-08
I love this book! If you've had entrepreneural ideas sitting on the back burner waiting to be realized, this book definitely gives you a motivating and inspiring push to launch them from dreams into realities. It gives great perspective on how woman are different from men in launching their ideas and creating the business and/or lifestyle that they want and deserve. The website is stock full of great resources and overall, the Ladies Who Launch provide access to a network of woman and like-minded people that will help you move forward.
true disappointment with suggestions for other reading.......2007-07-07
After seeing the authors on TV, I ordered this book, as they were engaging and smart. I wanted to get an idea of what their "incubators" were like, as I was looking for some support for a new business idea. And I was hoping for some inspiration, like hearing real stories about other women who have started businesses and changed their lives. Ahead of time, I will say I don't mean to insult these women, or anyone who liked the book, but it was so off base as far as I was concerned that I wanted women who see things my way to save their time and cash. And I am a legit person-over the course of many years (I am 53) I have been a product and textile designer (for famous designers), a salesperson who ran a division of a corporation, and had my own design column in a newspaper. Plus have traveled around the world countless times for business. So I have some idea of what it takes to earn a living and be successful (and I only have an AAS degree, so I don't think you need to go to Harvard and get and MBA to do good stuff in the world) and if I had followed the airy nonsense these gals talk about, I would probably never have gotten a job.
I understand that this book is meant to encourage and get you revved up about an idea, not tell you how to exactly turn your idea into something concrete, but it was filled with anecdotes about women and their ideas that were uninspiring and offered nothing that seemed real. Not only do I feel like I wasted my money on this book, I feel like I was being talked down to. If you have never examined your own feelings and thoughts, have little or no experience in the real world of work, and want touchy-feely writing with no true info to back it up, this book is for you. It felt like I was reading a long informmercial for the product called "Ladies Who Launch," since this phrase is repeated about ten times per page. This is like a self-help book for women raised in the 50's...
It is fine to advise women to examine their feelings about what they want to do with their lives, but if you have ANY real life business experience, especially in a creative field like writing, design, advertising, TV, you will be insulted. The authors use the word "creative" to describe just about every thought or action a person might experience, and just because you can bake a nice cookie, for example, it is unrealistic to think that you can run a bakery. Some of the little things they suggest you do to pump yourself up and feel good about yourself are almost like parodies of that Saturday Night Live act, where Stuart Smiley looks into the mirror and tells himself, "I am good enough, I am smart enough, and goddamn it, I like myself."
I also stopped short at the suggestion that we read "The Secret," that book promoted by Oprah. So if you like that kind of stuff, I will apologize now for insulting your taste, but I find it just laughable. Yes, I do believe that what you put out there affects what you get back, but I have to say, I do not think that the thoughts we put out create our universe. Otherwise, I bet all of us would not be at our computers right this second, but someplace else we asked the universe to send us. I do not think that by praying or saying affirmations to be wealthy, for example, I will wake up the next day being offered a job at $500K/yr which is the sort of stuff that "The Secret" book and DVD suggest.
AND there are little charts all through "Ladies" that offer statistics about different life issues, broken down by headings like Ladies Who Launch, Gentlemen Who do this or that...the use of the words ladies and gentlemen just annoyed me as it was over and over....who are the people they talked to? Their relatives? How many were there? You can't talk to 6 people and if all of them say yes to an idea, say that 100% of people say yes to something. And all of this is a shame as the incubator idea sounds really interesting but I am am afraid that whomever leads them would sprout all this new age stuff. I would suggest people read the life stories of women who are successful. There is a design magazine that looks kind of too-cute but every issue covers sa few successful artists or creative business women-Mary Englebreight's Home Companion. You can learn a lot from reading about how they all started their business. Almost all are women, almost all started with a small idea at home, they show photos of their studios and how they got their start.
This book would have made an excellent magazine article.
I would also suggest the book by Anne Lamott, "Bird By Bird." It is about the true work of being creative (she is a writer) and how to go step-by-step to attain something. She mixes humor, autobiography, writing advise that can be applied to almost any endeavor....good luck, save your bucks.

It Convinced Me!.......2007-09-10
I've read many books about raw and I stayed at 85%. I was not able to go all out and I didn't see why I had to be a 100%. After reading this book, I immediately got excited and started a 100% with understanding much better.
Only in America..........2007-07-20
...could this type of religious-sounding hype written in hollow language could attract so many praises. As I was reading it, I had the sensation that the author departed from the premise that all of her readers are naturally idiotic. I felt like a 2nd grader reading it. The parts coaching the reader on how to avoid anything cooked or how to talk to someone who's offering you cooked food...were just plain offensive to any person with a remotely decent IQ.
I have always liked raw preparations but I have a hard time believing that if you have some fresh, non-processed, slightly cooked food, you commit a morbid sin. Of course raw food is good for you. It is probably best to eat more raw than cooked. Of course exercise is good for you.
But how about some common sense in the way we live our lives? Do we really need such fanatical hysteria to understand that the modern lifestyle has brought with it many negatives for one's health?
Does it really mean we'll be dead if we slightly steam a bit of broccoli?
Oh, COME ON! Industrialization brought with it quick canning, pre-packing, processed foods and other junk - but it is NOT Industrialization that invented cooking. Cooking has been around FOREVER, long before the rates of degenerative, chronic disease soared. I do agree that it is not OK to eat dead food from those frozen dinners packed with "mono-poisonites" ...or all sorts of other junk foods to be found on shelves at mainstream grocery stores. HOWEVER, if I slightly steam/bake fresh veggies or any food that comes directly from the ground - I doubt that will cause any harm whatsoever. On the contrary, some argue it may even do some good by releasing nutrients from the cell walls.
I visited the author's site and it is clear she is in this whole thing for profit. That's her "little business". She asks for donations to support the "raw lifestyle" but it is not clear where that money is going to go and how. Plastic hype, overstatements, sensationalism - all those funny things that go so well in the country of all opportunities. She is a smart immigrant who caught on early what America is supposed to be about.
Good, but I have read better.......2007-06-07
This book is good to help ween you off of cooked food, but it does not provide a lot of recipes. I would reccomend any books by Shazzie, such as Detox Delights.
Excellan by far!.......2007-01-10
The condition was excellent. It arrived practically before I signed off the computer. It was packed well. Thanks!
