Neat book, not exactly what I thought it'd be........2007-06-13
I am a die hard Charmed fan and my daughter has recently through re-runs caught the bug,so I ordered this book for her birthday assuming it would be like the "Book of Shadows" on the show. I expected pictures and descriptions of demons and things and the spells they'd cast on the show. It did have some of the spells, and a lot of information on the wiccan religion but, not a demon or ghost in sight. While I find wicca interesting if I wanted a book about it I'd have ordered one on the subject. In it's favor if your'e interested in the craft or in behind the scenes information on the show you'd like the book but, it's not the companion book the title suggests.
"Charming" book..........2007-05-20
I love this book. It has all sorts of information about Wicca, spells, and more and lots of interesting tid bits about the show "Charmed" that for a fan is really a plus!!!
More about Wicca than "Charmed" .......2007-02-13
I think the book is fun to read, yet I wanted something that related more to the show. However, I have an interest in gemstones and the book goes into detail about the use of them as well as candles and herbs. So, it's interesting and fun, but may not be exactly what you want if you're more interested in the show.
Excellent.......2007-02-10
This is a really cool book has tidbits about the show and all the girls. If your a fan of the show Charmed. This is a must have for your collection.
It's interesting.......2007-01-18
The book was more about wicca then the actually show. I bought it because I thought it was more show oriented. If wicca doesn't interest you I wouldn't buy it.

Nice projects inside.......2007-10-08
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and I ordered this book to create some of the items from the movie. This book has some excellent items in it to make, from Dobby's socks to wizard robes, to scarfs, and blankets. However, it isn't a book for those who do not already know how to knit. I had to go and buy another book to learn how to knit first. But overall, I love the book. Easy to read and through instructions.
wonderful and magical.......2007-10-06
charmed knits is great. it is full of magical knits that will suit any student of hogwarts.
knitting .......2007-09-30
This is a great book for knitting even if you are not a fan of Harry Potter. The book will teach you step-by-step how to knit a sweater even if you have never made one. I suggest that you buy first an easy learn to knit book because this book goes a bit beyond the basics of teaching stitches and techniques. They assume that you know most of the basics. The book captures the spirit of Harry Potter well and really imitates the clothes from the movie. A must for a Harry Potter fan!
A must-have for Potter-fans!.......2007-09-14
Lovely book with charming patterns, I want to knit them all! Written with humour, gives a good read and many new ideas for knitters of all levels.
Great Buy!.......2007-09-07
Lots of wonderful patterns. A few that don't exactly follow the books or movies, but almost all do, and they are fantastic patterns. Good instructions, detailed, easy to follow for the most part. Nice yarn substitution information, great photos. I am so very glad that I have this book!!!

The Charmed Bible.......2007-08-28
This book is a fabulous reference guide to the last half of the Charmed series! I had the first one, and when this one came out, I HAD to have it! I didn't watch the last few years' worth of episodes over and over as I did the first five. This book was incredibly useful in answering the things I forgot about! If you are a Charmed fan, this book is a MUST!
Charmed Rocks!!.......2007-08-06

Charmed AND Enchanted.......2006-10-31
This was a reread for me and an enjoyable one.
These are the final 2 stories in the Donovan Legacy. A family of witches, each with their own specialty.
In Charmed we have Anastasia story. She is the cousin who is an Empath. She is also a healer because of her strong empathatic feelings. After be turned away by her first love when he found out what she was, Ana has stayed away from men to protect her heart. Then widow Boone Sawyer moves in next door with his young daughter. She fears telling him what she is, then fate steps in. This was my favorite out of all the Donovan stories. It is so good. Emotional and loving.
In Enchanted we have the story of Liam Donovan a witch and a shape shifter. He goes to the woods to be alone to think about an important choice he is going to have to make. Rowan Murray goes to the woods to find herself. They find eachother and she discovers so much more about herself. This story had a lot more "magic" in it. It was fun and the characters wonderful.
Enchanted, also.......2005-12-12
This is the 3rd AND 4th book, but no one has mentioned "Enchanted". It is about Liam Donovan and takes place in Oregon. It is a nice story too; for entertainment. Rowan Murray is a schoolteacher who needs a vacation and befriends a golden-eyed wolf. Hint: her name is Irish, too...
Totally Charmed.......2005-11-16
I absolutely loved this story. I thought it would be cheesy mixing magic into romance, but I was SOOO wrong. This was a wonderful tale that I'll enjoy reading again and again. The Anastasia and Boone are great together, and Boone's daughter is priceless. To bad I can't say the same for the series. The idea of the Donovan legacy is genius, but all four books were not. Captivated was just moderately good, and Entranced was terrible. Please skip that one. But Charmed and Enchanted are totally enjoyable. Hey, 2 out of 4's not bad. Kudos Mrs Roberts.
Another Witch's Tale that is Charming!.......2005-08-19
Charmed is Nora Roberts' third book in the Donovan series, which focuses on a family of witches. Captivated led the series off and featured Morgana. Next came Entranced which introduced us to Sebastian, cousin to Morgana. Charmed features Anastasia, yet another cousin to both Sebastian and Morgana. If you read the series, you'll get the entire family breakdown including the cousin's parents, an eccentric bunch to say the least!
Each of the cousins are hereditary witches (born with elfin blood) and each have their own gift or special powers. Anastasia has the powers of healing. I have to admit my ignorance in knowing exactly what "powers of healing" entailed or meant, but now have a much better idea after finishing the book. While reading the first two books in this series, Anastasia was always growing herbs so I did know that herbal remedies played a part in her powers. What I didn't know was the depth of this power.
Anastasia has new neighbors move in next door to her Monterey beach house and soon meets a young girl who instantly wins her love and affection. Jessie is adorable, innocent and very social as she bounds through the hedge separating the two homes and introduces not only herself to Anastasia but also her new puppy. Jessie's father, Boone Sawyer, soon comes to retrieve his daughter and meets Anastasia.
This is your typical romance plot line but with a twist. Man meets woman, sparks fly, attraction becomes love and then ... The "and then" portion of this book is what sets it apart from other romance books. When Boone asks Anastasia to marry him, she asks for a week to make the decision. She has to try to figure out how she can tell him that she's a witch and not lose him. The decision is taken out of her hands when Jessie falls off of a ladder and is critically injured. Anastasia puts her powers to work to save the girl's life and Boone is caught off-guard and mesmerized by the special gift bestowed on Anastasia, even though he doesn't really understand what is happening. When Jessie is saved and Anastasia exhaustedly falls into an unconscious state, Boone doesn't know how to react. When Anastasia awakens, Boone doesn't handle the situation well and pushes her away. I won't tell you any more or the ending will be spoiled and this conclusion is definitely worth reading.
Charmed isn't for someone looking for a book that will make the brain work overtime, it's pure enjoyment and entertainment value only. It's a very quick read and can be accomplished in an afternoon.
If you'd like to take a break from the active world, sit back, relax and enjoy a tale, this would be a great book to spend the afternoon curled up on the couch with in front of a fire in the fireplace.
Charmed & Enchanted.......2005-07-20
both books are very riveting. I kept reading until I was done with both in 2 days. The ideas and people are very realistic and charming.
Book Description
Jessica Darling’s in college!
Things are looking up for Jessica Darling. She has finally left her New Jersey hometown/hellhole for Columbia University in New York City; she’s more into her boyfriend, Marcus Flutie, than ever (so what if he’s at a Buddhist college in California?); and she’s making new friends who just might qualify as stand-ins for her beloved best friend, Hope.
But Jessica soon realizes that her bliss might not last. She lands an internship at a snarky Brooklyn-based magazine, but will she fit in with the überhip staff (and will she even want to)? As she and Marcus hit the rocks, will she end up falling for her GOPunk, neoconservative RA . . . or the hot (and married!) Spanish grad student she’s assisting on a summer project . . . or the oh-so-sensitive emo boy down the hall? Will she even make it through college now that her parents have cut her off financially? And what do the cryptic one-word postcards from Marcus really mean?
With hilarious insight, the hyperobservant Jessica Darling struggles through her college years—and the summers in between—while maintaining her usual mix of wit, cynicism, and candor.

Amazing.......2007-10-09
Charmed Thirds is yet another amazing book by Megan Mccafferty. Even though many people think that it wasn't as good as the first two i thought it was really good. It's hard for authors to keep a series going when you only have one main charactor and i feel that Megan Mccafferty has done a good job with it. i am exited to read the next one.
Not as Charmed Thirds.......2007-07-29
At this point in the Jessica Darling series, I think that most readers are highly interested in the Jessica - Marcus relationship. I know that is what I was looking forward to, in "Charmed Thirds". Unfortunately, Marcus rarely makes an appearance in this novel - mainly due to the fact that he is away at a very liberal college in California. All we get are strange post cards containing only one word, for the majority of the novel.
We see Jessica Darling struggling with a new group of people, trying to find her place. We see her dealing with the struggles of having a long distance relationship, and the temptation of having interest in a wide variety of other boys.
As McCafferty's novels progress, so do the time spans that they cover. This novel encompasses three years of Jessica's college experience at Columbia. That is part of the reason why I felt this novel was not as enticing as the previous two. Is started off well, and ended well - but struggled in the middle. I think it was unrealistic that Jessica and Marcus stayed together, when they had an extraordinarily small amount of contact. BUT, Marcus and Jessica are definitely not your average couple, so in a way it does, kind of, make sense.
Overall, as a big believer in finishing what you start, I would encourage any fans of the Jessica Darling series to read this novel. While it was not my favorite, it did leave me looking forward to finding out what happens next in the life of Jessica Darling.
Not as Good as the First 2!.......2007-05-30
This addition was not even close to the stellar writing of the first two in the series. I bought this in advance and was sorely dissappointed when I got into this book. It seems like Megan (the author) was just trying TOO hard. I would reccommend getting this from the library instead of buying it! Hopefully the next one is better!
Charming and GREAT!.......2007-05-16
The college life of Jessica Darling... is fun and lively. This books shows that she has grown up, yet still learning and making mistakes. Her relationship with her longtime guy Marcus is very different in this book as he begins to mature as well. She also runs into old friends and not-so friends, while this book also passes through time a lot quicker than the others. The end is seems fitting and the series could have ended just fine here, but i can't wait for the next one!!!
i'm experiencing withdraw.......2007-03-16
All i can say is: PLEASE WIRTE ANOTHER ONE!!! I need to know what happens between Marcus & Jessica! I loved the first one, I was obsessed with the second one, and I can not get anough of the third. I can only hope Meghan Mccafferty is in the midst of continuing Jessica Darling's journey with Marcus.

Every Woman should be required to read this book!.......2007-06-06
I spotted this book when I was going through a particularly difficult period in my life. (I read the book and truly felt inspired to make changes and to become more accepting of myself and others. I refer to the book all the time-it's like my own little pocket guide to life. Yes, I bleieve in God and have faith but I'll admit, I waiver. I grew up in a house where my mother did not have the skills or confidence in herself to be able to enjoy her own life or teach her daughters to enjoy theirs. If I am lucky enough to have children I will make sure I teach them these principles. Thank you, Victoria Moran for helping me wake up and enjoy life.
This little book is wonderful!.......2006-11-22
I have read this book and loved every chapter!....and I am purchasing a dozen, one for every female on my Christmas list, friends, neices, mother-in-law, setp-mom, etc..... I feel relieved that I am not the only female who feels this way. I especially like Chapters 8, 12, 31, 44....all of them ! This is the book you will read over and over again !!!! Thank you Victoria !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Gift for YOU and every woman you know!.......2006-07-27
Observations and good advice on living a richer life. Pick this up once a week, or once a month and randomly or deliberately pick a spot and start reading. This small book goes beyond the everyday 'Woman's self help guide.' It's like little morsels of chocolate: You take a bite, and you love it and you want more!
The first time you begin reading this book, you'll have a tough time putting it down. I walked around the house, ran errands, all the while, keeping this book w/in reach to read at every available opportunity. After you've read it thru, you'll want to leave it out in a convenient place so you can pick it up often to refresh yourself.
I liked the unique titles/ideas/concepts the author presents here.
In - "Coexist gracefully with the unresolved"- "You are not in denial when you recognize a problem and behave normally in spite of it. That's the difference between having a problem in your life and making a problem of your life."
"Draw From The Past" -"All over your house and through your life, look for ordinary things that give you the safe feeling of constancy."
"Seek Compatible Frequencies" - "You have to find places where you recognize yourself." and - "As you create the life you've always dreamed of, make sure it looks like you."
It's ALL good here!
This is a great book, and a WONDERFUL choice for a gift! I don't know any woman who wouldn't love this book!
Bring Balance & Joy to Your Life.......2006-04-07
I started reading a borrowed copy of this. Now I can't wait to have one I own and keep it close at hand. Each 2-3 page essay presents an idea for finding the balance and joy that most of us seek in our lives. There are 75 of these concepts in the book and it covers many of the irritations of modern life.
For example, one discusses coexisting gracefully with the unresolved. One titled "Stand on Ceremony" talks about elevating activities to a ceremonial level to enrich your daily routine.
Another seems mundane, "Make the Bed," but she writes about the standard that sets for your day and the reader sees how a small action makes a difference in life. The examples she gives are very applicable to ordinary working people.
What a great book! I'm anxious to sample her other titles also.
Lives up to the title and is ten stars.......2006-02-16
Ok, I admit I found the books title interesting, so I opted to buy the book and am glad I did. Started reading it while getting my car services which was to have taken half an hour but ended up taking two. So I sat and read various chapters of the book whose titles perked my interest.
First chapter that caught my interest is titled Acquire Discretion, which is right on target and in my opinion should be required reading for most Americans who in an age of blogs and tell all television might do well to acquire an art the Europeans know and practice well. As the author notes beginning on page 33 'Discretion is the art of restraint. People who have it do fewer foolish things, when they do behave foolishly, they don't plaster the news on a billboard. .... When a woman has discretion, her selfhood is marked by clear boundaries that ask for and almost always get respect'.
Her chapter on Watch Your Words is something that some of us know and practice and should be required reading for anyone who speaks without reallly thinking first. It might well 'cure' your problem if you are apt to gossip, or even say things that are deemed negative about what you can do vs what you do not want to do.
Ask for What You Want continues along the same lines and will be helpful for those who beat around the bush or play word games. If someone asks you a question don't spend ten minutes talking around the bush but spend one minute getting to the point. If someone asks you how they can help, speak up and be specific!
Another great chapter of hers is titled Be Specific. This is something I learned when I read another great book titled Write It Down Make It Happen: Knowing What You Want And Getting It -- by Henriette Anne Klauser which got me to writing in a journal around the time we needed to move but were not sure what we wanted. By writing and speaking specifically about what one wants, needs and believes saves time and energy and in the end produces satisfying results.
There are so many excellent pieces in this book that I in considering buying extra copies to share with friends who need some wisdom in their life. Am just so glad I bought the book and could easily share what I like about each piece but encourage you to buy a copy for yourself.
Book Description
The Eiffel Tower in miniature, a tiny silver teddy bear, or perhaps a platinum disk engraved with a date: Every charm on a bracelet has special meaning for its wearer: history on a wrist.
Tracey Zabar, premier crafter of charm bracelets, explores the enduring appeal of these chic, sweet accessories in Charmed Bracelets. Beginning with the amulets and talismans of ancient times, she discusses the origins of charms, then showcases a selection of exuberant ornaments from the charm-crazed 1950s and concludes with present-day bracelets.
Charmed Bracelets includes suggestions for selecting trinkets around a theme, be it foreign cities or favorite movies, and provides instructions on how to maintain the jewelry. Beyond embellishing a bracelet, Zabar also describes other clever applications for charms: to customize a dog collar, for example, or bedeck the ribbons on an exquisitely wrapped birthday present. A guide to buying charms completes this enchanting gift book. AUTHOR BIO: With her popular, vintage-influenced charm bracelets, jewelry designer TRACEY ZABAR has put a fresh new spin on a coveted family heirloom. Charmed, I'm sure.......2006-11-06
Yes, this book about charms is, well, charming! If you like jewelry, themed or not, you'll like this book. I was smiling as i looked through it, and I make themed charm bracelets myself, so it was fun to see what other people have done over the years. So many charms, so little time!
Absolutely lovely!.......2006-08-09
If you have ever had a charm bracelet, currently collect charms, or have ever wanted to start a collection - this book is for you! The ideas, history, and photos of the bracelets are all wonderful. It inspired me to clean up my old charm bracelets and, along with my current one, put them on display. They are works of art that tell a story. This book is also a great gift. It has inspired those I've given it to as it inspired me.
Charmed Bracelets by Tracy Zabar.......2005-10-11
I was browsing one day at the Gardner in Berkeley, CA and saw this book. I bought it for a friend and it was so fun that we decided to start charm bracelets of our own. The fever caught on and now there is a group of us that are trading and swapping stories. My bracelet is becoming my history and its great to watch it evolve.
The book is beautifully designed and written.
Charmed Bracelets.......2005-09-22
Having recently inherited my Mother's charm bracelet, I have a new appreciation for the "charmed" beauty of it. Each charm meant something special to her and I want to continue that legacy by adding to it for my daughter. Loved the book and reading about the history of charms. The pictures are great too.
A Book to Share.......2005-06-22
What a wonderful gift! I gave this book along with a bracelet with one single charm as a wedding present to a friend. The wonderful writing and photographs in this book have insipred her to create her own wearable art! She is expecting her first baby soon. I will surely check out Ms. Zabar's new book about Baby Names!
Book Description
Maggie O'Neill must turn on her own charms-mystical and otherwise-while investigating the death of one of her customers from the antique shop, Enchantments.
Customer Reviews:
A better Mystery.......2007-08-21
A much better story than the first. The book is tighter and the mystery is a hard one to solve. It takes to the last chapter to find out where the story is going. The characters are mostly in the background to Maggie's sluething and she spends more time actively trying to solve the mystery instead of reacting emotionally like the first book. STill not Agatha Christie, but a good fluffy mystery. I look forwards to the third book.
Maggie has grown.............2007-05-21
This is the second outing of the "Bewitched series' which continues the story of Maggie O'Dell. Maggie's has been asked by her boss, Liss, to take care of her shop Enchantments, because Liss is still recovering from her sister's murder,(told in "The Trouble with Magic"). It is the Christmas season, and a trio of pretty girls from the local high school come into Enchantments. Amanda, the obvious leader of the group, buys an antique clock and flashes a wad of money to pay for the clock. Maggie wonders how a high school girl could have so much money. Soon after, Amanda is found dead and Maggie is drawn into finding the murderer out of sympathy for Amanda's mother. Madeyly Alt has definitly improved the character of Maggie in this second volume. She has grown as an empath and certainly seems much more mature then in the first book. Marcus and Liss are featured as major characters in this outing and we see Marcus' growing attraction to Maggie. The complication here is that Maggie thinks that he and Liss are involved, so even though she admires and is attracted to his character, his looks, and his obvious kindness to her, she is unwilling to see Marcus as a suiter because of her regard for Liss. Maggie's romantic focus is still on Tom, her sometime boyfriend policeman who does not understand the world of the metaphysical, and who has made it clear he is no longer interested in Maggie, so it is Marcus who helps her with her investigations. The pacing is better in this book, as is the dialog, and Maggie's internal musings are a little more age appropriate this time around. There is still the problem of Maggie's voice which still seem too juvenile for a 30 yr. old woman, but I was glad to see that her issues with her mother and her Catholic faith are not as black and white to her as in the first book. The solution to this murder was not one that I guessed, but the author does tie up the ends neatly and the motivation for the murder rings true. This is a much better book then the first, and I hope the series and Maggie continue to grow.
I just couldn't get into this series..........2007-05-20
I picked this book up between flights at an airport bookstore last January. I love witches, ghosts, murder mysteries and the like, so I thought this book would be a great read. After a few chapters on the airplane, I put the book down and opted to stare off into space. I couldn't stand the lead charater and I felt like many of the characters were sterotypical and predictable (ie, the angry, tormented goth girl, the hot hunk, the religious, meddling mother). I also found it odd that a store run by a group of witches would somehow fly under the radar of the townsfolk, even when the group NIGHTS is out hunting ghosts and performing spells.
When I came home, I gave myself a few weeks and tried to pick up reading the book again. After another few chapters, I just donated it to the library because I couldn't even get through it.
Don't waste your $$ on this one, go grab one of the donated copies at the library if you insist on trying to read it.
Second time around is just as wonderful.......2007-05-12
Madelyn Alt is truly terrific! This second book of hers picks up where the first one left us, nearly seamlessly, and lives up to the promise of being as good IF NOT BETTER than the first time around. Her main character Maggie is as flawed and human as the rest of us, which makes us love her more because she is so much like us "mere mortals". The mystery that occurs is not one of those "oh, I know who did this" types where you know the bad guy in the first few chapters -- it sneaks up on you and slaps you in the face at the very end, making you wonder "geez, what just happened to me?" I would highly recommend this author, and will continue to buy her books as long as she chooses to write them!
Nice continuation of the series.......2007-05-10
Book 2 - Maggie settles into life working for a witch, having ghosts in her basement apartment, and dealing with the customers at Enchantments. But when one of those customers goes missing, Maggie gets involved. Will she get too close?
Average customer rating:

The most important thing in the Charmed Ones' lives isn't magic, and it's not their jobs or their clothes. It's family. Piper, Phoebe, and Paige are Warren witches -- the latest in a long line of women with incredible supernatural strength. For more than two centuries, the Warren witches have fearlessly practiced magic: From Melinda Warren in the 1600s to the Charmed Ones in 2005, the power of these witches is unsurpassed.
The Warren Witches recounts never-before-told stories of their lives -- as women, as witches, and, most important, as members of a family of considerable magical strength and power. Above all, they are family; beyond all, they are witches.
Customer Reviews:
The Warren Witches? More like time-travel edition of never-before-told stories of Piper, Phoebe and Paige.......2005-10-06
This short story collection was given the wrong title. For a title "The Warren Witches", it should be about various ancestor witches, from Melinda Warren to The Charmed Ones, not just stories about the 3 main characters. And there are too many stories which involved time-travel. At least, there was mention of the girls' main ancestors - their mother, Grams, the 1920s cousins, Melinda, Prudence and Charlotte Warren, and Aunt Brianna - all of them should be familiar with Charmed fans. What about the other Warren Witches? Please. Do let us know more about Prudence's daughter Cassandra Warren-Wentworth. Everyone knows Aunt Brianna as she was famous for defeating Lord Gabriel. As mentioned in "Family History", she said that she has 1 sister, who has gone to America. That sister happens to be Astrid Warren-Wentworth. Both Brianna and Astrid are the daughters of Cassandra. What about letting Charmed fans know more about these witches? And Astrid's three daughters - Laura, Helena and Grace Wentworth? Tell us about any magical disaster they faced, their lives as witches, and how they overcame evil. The Wentworth sisters, each had a daughter and they became the well-known 1920s cousins, P.Bowen, P.Baxter and P.Russell. And from then, you know how the Warren Line goes. Stories that have been passed down through generations, stories on each ancestor and most importantly, their fight against evil and protecting the innocents.
That is how the book should have been. Not time-travel stories about Piper, Phoebe and Paige. Although the only story with NO mention of the Charmed Ones was "Patty's Awakening", which in my opinion, the best story in the book.
Could have been better.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.... .......2005-09-06
I truly believe the book could have been written better. THe title "The Warren Witches" stirs up thoughts of stories with other ancestors, not just the main characters, Piper, phoebe and paige.
The only story WITHOUT mention of the power of 3 at all, was Patty's Awakening, by Greg Elliott. I enjoyed that story, but I found it a bit draggy, with nothing to keep you in suspense about.
The stories by Laura J.Burns, Old Friend and Family History, were good, as the stories were original and something different, rather than the usual demon-vanquishing tales. As for "Old friend", I liked it, it was an unique start to the beginning of a exciting story (that's what I thought), but the fact that Wyatt ORBED into the past w/out a spell of potion??? That's ridiculously impossible. Was Laura in a rush when she wrote than story? And the ending for it? Emily's history was changed!!! It was pretty abrupt.. As for "Family history" the fact that P.Russell was supposed to be killed by her cousins, P.Bowen and Baxter... My question is, how could P.Russell have woken Astarte up, when there was no mention of Astarte at all in the Charmed series? If P.Russell DID wake Astarte up in her regular timeline, why should she be killed by her cousins and not by Astarte, which will leave the timeline to be NOT messed up?
Micol Ostow's story, The Crucible, was a horrible story. Such a lame, confusing plot, suspense which leads to something which people might say, "That's it? I thought there was more to this!!" I read this story ONCE and that is it, as reading it a few more times can make me puke at how badly written this story was.
Something old, something new, was also quite cockamamy-ish, in the sense that the 3 witches went into the past to make Prudence Warren to realise how much her powers are to be needed or magic would have left the entire family, and became a story which was passed down for generations.... Confusing, not to mention silly, but the plot was a-okay when it came to suspense...
Witch Trap, like Old Friend, was also unique, but didnt quite make sense that much, though I was happy to read that Melinda Warren appeared to the girls when they were in the dire times.
Old family recipe had an interesting story line about Piper unknowingly tainted the apple pie, by a recipe written by Russell. But my only gripe about the story was its abrupt ending to the obsessions of Paige, Phoebe, Leo, Darryl, etc..
Preconceived was not bad... I enjoyed it, and was amazed at the girls' determination to save their mother's life and not mention anything about themselves to Grams..
If you ask me, 90% of the stories had abrupt endings which made you think a few times over what it meant... I expected more from this short-story collection though..
This Could Be Improved A Thousand Times Over...........2005-08-16
This book just didn't have the show's signature sparkle. It was SUPPOSE to be about the Warren family, before the sisters!
PROS:
The few things that I liked about this book were the fact that Paige was able to meet Melinda Warren, in fact, Melinda's inclusion in and of itself was a major plus! I loved the episode, "The Witch Is Back," and I only wish that the show could've had more appearances by Melinda.
A bit of Paige's history was a nice thing to have, especially the part about her obsession with Twizzlers. If anyone remembers, Prue also had a love for Twizzlers (Andy said this in Season 1), and I thought that was another nice connection between Paige and Prue.
I really liked the inclusion of P. Russell and P. Baxter and her (P. Baxter's) use of her powers to slow down time. (In the world of the fans, whether Piper was able to actually freeze or just slow things down in her past life has always been a huge debate.)
The story that revolved around Penny and Patty was fabulous! I loved the detail, as well as Patty's struggle with being a witch. It was very believable and probably one of, if not the, best story in the entire book.
CONS:
There were just too many things that didn't add up and the consistent time travel throughout the book got old around the third time The Charmed Ones went back to the past. As well as Wyatt's display of magic in the past. Every fan of the show knows that without a spell or potion, you cannot possess magic when you haven't been born. So Wyatt using his powers in the past, let alone ORBING into the past, was completely unacceptable.
But I believe what bothered me most about this book was the fact that there was absolutely NO Prue! Prue was one of the hugest parts of the Halliwell line, the oldest of the Power of Three, the sister who died which allowed Paige to come in and finally allowed them to vanquish The Source because they had the ENTIRE family! I understand that the sisters couldn't summon Prue from the dead, but they could've had flashbacks of Prue. They refused to show Little Prue in Patty's visions, but they allowed Little Piper and Little Phoebe to be shown. Hell, we didn't even get to see P. Bowen (Prue's past life)! She was barely mentioned in the book! This is the biggest reason why I've given this book such a low score. The absence of the eldest Halliwell sister in any form, without so much as even an attempt at a reason, is completely unacceptable!
Any avid fan of the show could write a better book and not have such easily avoidable errors, inconsistent plots, and they could bring continuity to the storyline!
If the producers ever want to see a good book about "Charmed," I believe they'll need to hire one of us loyal fans who love to write about the show.
Sincerely,
~Camille May, A Fan For Life~
a good book... just a bit disappionted.......2005-08-15
i love Charmed so i was thrilled when i bought "the warren witches". but i was a bit disappointed in some of the stories. i thought i was going to discover more about the charmed ones' ancestors... WITHOUT piper, phoebe and paige. but over-all, it was a good book- especialy for charmed obbsessed fans... like me.
Charmed.......2005-07-20
The book was excellent though not what I expected. I had been hoping for more of a tale of history of the girls whole line. Instead is was a series of great stories that did reveal more of the girls history just not as much as I wanted. It was a great read from finished to end. Anyone who reads the series will be more than satisfied!

Excellent read if I say so myself .......2007-01-18
Everything you want to know about the episodes is in this book. From what demons are in each episode to how each episode is made. Even the behind the scenes stuff is interesting. If you are a fan of the show I would defintely suggest buying part 1 and 2.
Essential for Charmed Fans.......2006-07-03
Book of 3 is a great guide to the Charmed episodes, mythology, magic, cast and crew of Charmed. A second book detailing the final seasons is due out soon. Published by the same people who do the Charmed novels it is a great guide. What could be improved? Lists of the guest stars on the episodes and a little more background about the creative process behind writing the show.
charmedfan4ever.......2006-06-14
This is a great companion book to the show. The colored pictures are beautful. I wish there were more Black/White episode pictures in seasons 1-5 that are covered in this book. I hope the sequel season 6-8 will have mor pictures, spells and updated biographies on the characters and the actor and actresses.
The Book for ALL!.......2006-03-09
This is the ultimate (and official) supliment to the hit series CHARMED!

Very Charming!.......2005-10-23
I love this book. It is a wonderful companion to the Charmed DVDs. The only problem is that it only covers seasons 1 - 4. Now there needs to be a second book covering seasons 5 - 8.
