This book was in the condition that Amazon sold it to me in however I did wait for nearly a month to receive it and had to complain to customer service in order to get the book even shipped. I've always had good experiences with Amazon so I'm hoping this was just a one time thing...

Book Description
At some point in their lives, most women experience a decline in their sexual desire. Yet despite the vast number of books devoted to sex, surprisingly few focus on the problem of low libido. And fewer still offer any practical advice to the woman who has lost her sex drive and longs to find it again. In Reclaiming Desire, gynecologist Andrew Goldstein and clinical psychologist Marianne Brandon-co-founders of the Sexual Wellness Center in Annapolis, Maryland-present the holistic approach that they use to successfully treat women with low libido. Capitalizing on their combined medical and psychological expertise, they reveal how a complex of physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual factors-as well as specific life-changing events, like marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, divorce, and menopause-can affect female sex drive. Reading this book, women will come to understand that low libido isn't 'all in their heads'-or all in their bodies, for that matter. The problem is real, it's diverse, and it's curable.
Customer Reviews:
Just started reading and has already helped!.......2007-08-15
I have only made it through the first few chapters, but this book has already helped. I'm a recenlty married 26 year old, but because I have Hashimoto's Disease (low thyroid) I was stuggling with a low libido. My husband was trying to be very understanding, but it was difficult being that we have only been married a little over a year. This book helped me stop feeling so stressed out, and reminded me I needed to take time for myself. Once I started paying attention to myself and my own needs, I found my problems with low libido start to dissapear. I recommend this book for anyone stuggling with low libido. You aren't alone, and this book offers much needed support to help you get your libido back where it should be.
Very Helpful.......2007-06-27
This book was very helpful to me, especially the emotional section. I would suggest it to anyone that has had sexual trauma in the past and is still trying to cope with trusting another.
Good book but too detailed.......2007-01-10
It is a good book but it goes into too much detail about things. I would recommend for woman who need to understand how their body works.
Reclaiming the erotic in your relationship.......2004-07-15
Written for women, "Reclaiming Desire" explores why sexual desire fades and what can be done to bring it back. Authors Andrew Goldstein, M.D. and Marianne Brandon, Ph.D., the founders of the Sexual Wellness Center in Annapolis, Maryland, claim that there are four keys to reclaiming this desire. These keys are good physical health, being emotional resilient, being intellectually fulfilled, and having spiritual contentment.
We all go through various life changes, any one of which can affect the libido. The authors look at many of these changes and how they affect your sex drive as well as what can be done to reduce or eliminate that effect. Each of their four keys is examined in detail including not only how things like hormones, depression, anxiety, stress, menopause and other factors affect your drive but also exploring how to lessen those effects. They do a good job of exposing various myths and misconceptions as well as detailing what works and what does not. With today's focus on natural health options they even include information on how exercise and other natural options can be used.
Throughout the book two messages are clear - you are not alone and there is hope. "Reclaiming Desire" is highly recommended to any woman suffering from a declining libido who wants to reclaim that portion of their relationship as part of their life.
The Best Book Written on Women's Desire Problems.......2004-07-13
Reclaiming Desire is a gift to women who have lost their libido. Doctors Goldstein and Brandon have created a beautifully-written, comprehensive, empowering and compassionate book, and one I recommend wholeheartedly to my patients. It deals with women's low sexual desire in unusual depth, and in a remarkably balanced way---encompassing the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects of womens' sexuality. If you still love your partner and your relationship and you still want to bond, but your sex drive has vanished, this is the best book you could ever read.
Reclaiming Desire is the thinking woman's antidote to helplessness. It gives you the guidemap to pinpoint what is wrong, the courage to take responsibility for your part, the voice of a wise, ingenious, loving guide to cheer you on, and all the strategies you will need to change your libido. The chapter on the "Miracle of Motherhood" is a masterpiece. It should be required reading for all parents-to-be, and the professionals who take care of them.
This is a fabulous book and a first-rate contribution to the literature on women and sexuality.

Uplifting.......2007-07-01
What an amazing book. I began to read with a cynically curled lip, but the truth in this book grabbed me and I read it in 2 days and then did the Seminar. I'm sorry if I sound cliche, but this is lifechanging. I don't recognise the doubting me who picked up the book (but I thank God that I did) and I love what I have become and I laugh now at all the emotional rubbish that I have been able to dump and move on without it dragging me down. Buy it, feel it, live!
Yes but....used as a commercial product.......2007-04-29
I really liked the Book of Brandon Bays, I watched the videos on the net so I joined yesterday the seminar of the Journey: 4 hours of video listening to her the stories I knew by heart: impossible for me, so I went out for 30 minutes but I had critics because the energy of the room was disturbed without me. I came back after 30 minutes and took a magazine. At the lunch time, the organiser told me I had too negative energy for the group with this attitude: I replied I wanted to start the practical healing, the methods of B. Bays..not only watching videos.
The man has been so negative with me ,I had to leave the seminar...
Absolutely stunning and healing.......2007-03-25
I read this book in 1 day. It resonated with me instantly. I went to a weekend seminar and did more healing in that weekend than in 13+years of therapy. I am still in awe and amazement at the results I received and am continuing to receive. The material is brillantly packaged into a quick way to uncover feelings and get to the core, and then to Source. And I have been able to carry that with me every day since I left the seminar. One month later and I am still lighter than air and am overwhelmed at my continued healing. you don't have to go to the seminar, however, you can read the book and she will teach you some of the processes in the book and you and a friend can try them out. But if it resonates with you, the seminar is %1000 better.

The Journey.......2007-01-10
good book I enjoyed the read for me because I have a progressing Brain tumor---
This is the only way I have ever found .......2006-11-04
Doing the self meditations in THE JOURNEY by Brandon Bays--going to the source, etc.--is the only way I have ever found to fully heal the emotional scars all of us develop along the way in life.
This book is so powerful, I put it second only to the BIBLE.

Customer Reviews:
Good how-to reference, BAM and BRE can be addressed more.......2007-02-18
Though this book covers basics, it is a good reference book to learn what some of the real world scenarios are and how to solve them.
However, if you assume this a 1-2-3 type "recipes", you may find challenges in following the instructions. To name a few, just try out Recipe 5-2 from the Sample Chapter of this book, I wonder how many people can get it working. You will also need good enough of background to jump right into some topics such as BRE and BAM, or you will be left with a lot of "Why" and "How" while reading some talk-through descriptions (Yes, you are reading right, not step 1-2-3 at all). "Related Activities" in Recipe 9-1 is one of many examples.
You may be questioning yourself and try to look for sample codes/project download from the publisher Apress official site. You will be very disappointed how many key subjects out there. This may be the nature of the BizTalk implementation, unlike other subjects such as C# coding sample which author can just zip and ship the sample codes out for download.
Overall, this book is fine. To me, it seems this book came out rush. More proof-reading can make this book better.
Well balanced, provides insight in how things work.......2007-01-10
BizTalk 2006 Recipes is a refreshing book. Rather than re-organize the existing help, they have taken the time to address dozens and dozens of common scenarios and provided "recipes" for each of these.
This is information that you don't find in the help. Just like a cookbook, appetizers, breads, drinks, poultry, salads, etc., BizTalk 2006 Recipes uses the same paradigm, Schemas, Mapping, Messaging, Orchestrations, etc. For each "recipe," you have the problem you are trying to solve, the solution for the problem, and then best part, "How it Works," which explains the underpinnings of each of the topics. They pick both simple and advanced topics and it is structured to allow you to either go through the book end-to-end or to use it as a reference. I think this is a great compliment to the existing documentation and a handy reference for any BizTalk developer.
Good, but not complete.......2006-10-24
I find that the examples given in this book cover the basics well. There is nothing about the EDI subsystem or the Sharepoint Adapter.
Great for reference, great for learning BizTalk.......2006-10-05
This is a piece of the review I wrote on my blog (putting the URL would be against the policies here so I'm leaving it out).
The book format: It is a recipe book so is written in a "Problem, Solution, How it works" style format with each chapter being given an introductory page or two preface. This book will be a great one to have around as a reference book, but I have to say that I also enjoyed reading it cover to cover (well almost... honestly I skimmed chapter 10, this chapter probably could have been done away with and the contents moved to other chapters).
The book is fairly comprehensive in covering BizTalk soup to nuts; there is a chapter on Schemas, one on Business Rules engine (more on this one later in the post), one on BAM and one talking about HAT. The writing styles of the various authors were not too apparent, but rather fairly subtle; sometimes in code samples they were apparent however; one chapter has code that uses both hungarian notation on variables, but also on function parameters. That should be done away with in this persnickety developers opinion. I have to say that from still fairly green knowledge of BizTalk, it appears that at least some of the authors have implemented a fair amount of BT solutions in their careers; to me this was evidenced by the "NOTE" sections that were lusciously littered throughout the text that included well thought out pitfulls and other tips to assist in your BizTalk solutions. In my opinion the one chapter that stuck out (and obviously I could be wrong) as one that wasn't written from experience but rather written from a "I just learned this" kind of perspective was the business rules engine chapter 5 (which ironically is available for free download from Apress).
Overall, I would give this book 3 tivo thumbs up, 4.5 stars out of 5 rating. Get this book if you need assistance with BizTalk 2006.
Other side notes, the authors created a blog site just for the book, but thus far only posted one comment and apparently aren't interested in doing much blogging, I'd love to see that change.
One other note I forgot to include; there was a couple spots that made reference to BizTalk 2004; one of the spots was more of a "if you are used to doing it this way, here is what you will have to do now" kind of reference; I found that appropriate; the other one was "here is how to do it in 2004 and here is how to do it in 2006". That one the book could do without. I don't recall where in the book they were; but for the authors knowledge it was the first 2004 reference in the book that could go and the 2nd one could stay :) I gave them the full 5 stars since they are first to market; I think 4.5 stars would be an appropriate rating on this book. Great job to the authors!
Excellent Book!!!!.......2006-09-28
This is an excellent book for Biztalk, Only suggestion is read the Biztalk 2006 white paper from the Microsoft website before you read this book. The authors have presented the content in a very easy to understand manner, without beating around the bush.........

Customer Reviews:
Survival of the Savvy a Must Read for Executives.......2007-10-05
Seldman and Brandon have crafted an excellent guide to navigating today's increasingly more complicated corporate political landscape. Their focus on becoming politically aware while remaining in integrity clearly seperates this book from any other book I've read on this topic. The authors address all of the most prevalent attitudes regarding politics within organizations and they do it in a way that normalizes the readers viewpoint whatever it may be. They offer clear and concrete suggestions that should be helpful to any executive no matter what they're level or current political style.
I have already begun using some of the concepts and language I learned from reading Survival of the Savvy. My clients have all responded in an extremely positive manner. I highly recommend this book, to executives, executive coaches/consultants and to anyone else who may be curious about the part political savvy plays in today's corporate world.
Unfortunately unconvincing and without clear action steps........2007-09-25
Initially interesting, this book ends up being discouraging. It starts out with some solid concepts about corporate politics and integrity - but overall it does not deliver on those claims.
Not only is it unconvincing about its core premise - that you CAN "play" politics with high integrity - but it gives only general ideas and concepts with no clear action steps for the reader to try out.
I'm a firm believer in the reality of high-integrity politics, and so I had great hopes for this being a book I could recommend to my clients. Sadly, I think it makes much more of a case for politics being ugly and unfortunate than high-integrity and - yes - fun!
There are many others that are much better. This one is very skippable.
Savvy is a global winner.......2007-08-18
This book provides a solid foundation for understandning corporate politics. The models and insights are highly valuable to all leaders. We introduced the concepts to our most senior leaders at Satyam and since then we have shared the book with hundreds of our leaders throughout the world. Every leader who reads this book is changed for good. A highly recommended read! Ed Cohen, Senior Vice President, Satyam Computer Services, India.
A Good Option for IT People To!.......2006-02-25
Like it or not, office politics is a reality in every organization, in every department, and on every team. Although it's easy to say that you're above politics because you're a techie, or that you're simply not interested in politics, these attitudes are a recipe for career disaster. This book will help you to recognize, and then deal with in an ethical manner, the various types of politics which you will face over the years. You don't need to become a master politician of the Gordon Gekko ilk, but you should at least be able to navigate the political shoals within your organization. This book is a well written, easy read which provides excellent advice for anyone wanting to succeed within their organizations. It provides clear advice for how to detect when your co-workers are undermining you and more importantly when you're undermining yourself. Although not written for IT people directly, it will clearly help you to interact with, and understand better, your project stakeholders, managers, and colleagues.
Useful and Practical.......2005-08-14
As a leadership coach, I have successfully used this book with clients at all levels of an organization. This book has been extremely helpful with clients who saw politics as "slimy" to help them look at political savvy as something that can be exercised with integrity.
This book does three things:
1) Reframes politics as ethical influence. Politics change from being a dirty word to a necessary leadership skill for effectively impacting the organization.
2) Offers a self-awareness tool to help people identify their strengths and weaknesses.
3) Offers practical ready-to-implement strategies for becoming more impactful.

Kudos to Brandon Mull and Fablehaven.......2007-09-23
I think this series might be one of the literary worlds best kept secrets. I had never heard of it before Our school was lucky enough to schedule a visit with Brandon Mull. In preparation I bought the first Fablehaven book. I had no idea what I was missing. I was hooked after the first page and didn't want to put it down. I was ordering the 2nd book as soon as I was finished with the first. Now I am excitedly waiting for book 3.
Mull does it again.......2007-09-13
Like so many of the other reviews Brandon Mull second book is even better than his 5 star first book. It's a shame we can't give more stars. This book is for more than just children's book, its a great read for any age. Truely imagitive and fun for the whole family, what a world to live in.
Phenominal Book!.......2007-09-08

Within the book, the way he's written, you'll find small nuggets of good life guidelines as well as profound truths. Don't buy the book for those things, buy it for the excellent story and wonderful writing. You won't be dissappointed!
A New Top Author.......2007-09-01
Brandon Mull uses his vast imagination to create a wonderful story for children. Parents and grandparents cannot put this book down until they have finished the story. As for the children, I have not seen them so excited about a book in a long time. It is pure delight when we sit around the table and talk about the characters and the story. I have purchased 4 copies for 4 grandchildren. May Brandon Mull write forever!

I absolutely loved both of the Fablehaven books. Brandon Mull is a very talented writer that draws you right into his stories. This is such a turnabout on your basic fairytale/mythological creatures that it is enjoyable for all age groups.
Book Description
A comprehensive look at ideas about God-in every corner of the globe.
More than at any other time in history, ordinary people are reading up on the world's major religions. Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and Islam often seem at odds with each other, and as readers struggle to understand, The Complete Idiot's Guide to World Religions, Third Edition, provides expanded and updated coverage to answer their questions. Here, comparative theologists Toropov and Buckles provide many answers to today's questions about both major and lesser-known religions and beliefs. Each of five parts, one for every major religion, discusses history, rituals, celebrations, holy documents, deities, and structure. Included are Asian paths of belief, non-scriptural religions, ancient creeds, and the earth-based religions practiced in parts of Asia, Africa, South America, island nations, Europe, and North America. New coverage includes:

The Complete Idiot's Guide to World Religions.......2007-09-19
My daughter's World Religion instructor recommended this book as an addition to the required text. It has short no-nonsense descriptions and is easy to use. Great price, too!
Good overview.......2007-05-07
This is an excellent book which gives a general overview of major world religions and some minor ones. It reviews several religious practices without judging them and would be beneficial to someone trying to better understand the background culture of certain region. I doesn't cover much depth, so it should be considered an introductory volume.
Totally agree with G.Singh.......2007-04-28
How sad it is that Brandon Yusuf Toropov has sunk to such new depths and produced a book that no one in his/her right mind would want to waste more than a fleeting moment of their precious time to even consider reading more than the front page to see that the entire concept is fundamentally flawed.
See my review on the Idiot's Guide to the Koran by the same author and you'll see that the author has a decided bias for Sunni Islam as opposed to other religions such as Christianity or Shi'a Islam.
To leave out Sikhism, as pointed out by G.Singh, is a disastrous omission for such a book. It has totally failed in what it has set out to do, and instead offers us a politically correct and patronising whitewash. It provides us with very little of interest to anybody whatsoever.
Not Recommended at all.......2007-04-13
I found out that the description of a whole religion is missing in this book! That's right; there was absolutely no mention of Sikhism in this book even though it's considered the 5th largest religion in the world! How can anybody writing a book about World religions just skips a whole religion with over 20 million followers is beyond me and how they continue to publish this book into its 3rd edition with such a massive omission is even more disturbing. What's even more ridiculous is that author is from Berkeley, California, where there is sizable Sikh population and greater Bay Area alone has atleast a dozen Sikh places of Worships (Gurudwaras). I would think that you atleast want to do some research before writing a book on World religions instead of trying to make quick bucks by publishing such stuff. I guess that also tells me about the publisher and editor, who didn't pick on such a huge mistake. I would definitely not recommend this book to anyone and being a Sikh myself, I will probably not be buying any of these series ever again.
I expected more........2006-12-02
I pretty much agree with the first review. When you read an Idiot's Guide you expect something clear and understandable to an average reader. The blocks and sidebars look good but the language is that of theological scholars. I expected something better. At that, it was sufficiently clear to me that the Middle East (Islamic states) will not support democracy as we know it. "W" and his buddies should have read it a few years ago!
Book Description
For centuries, mystical creatures of all description were gathered to a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary survives today as one of the last strongholds of true magic in a cynical world. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite...
Kendra and her brother Seth have no idea their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven. Inside the gated woods, ancient laws give relative order among greedy trolls, mischievous satyrs, plotting witches, spiteful imps, and jealous fairies. However, when the rules get broken, an arcane evil is unleashed, forcing Kendra and Seth to face the greatest challenge of their lives. To save her family, Fablehaven, and perhaps the world, Kendra must find the courage to do what she fears most.

A wonderful escape........2007-09-23
I bought this book to read in preparation for a visit from Brandon Mull to my sons school. I am so thrilled I did because I have truly enjoyed both Fablehaven books. Mr. Mull knows just how to grab your attention and hold it tight. I am now anxiously awaiting the 3rd Fablehaven book.
Great for kids, okay for adults........2007-09-13
I picked up this book because it looked interesting and the plot seemed intriguing. The story is about two children whose parents go on an extended trip and leave them with an uncle. This uncle, it turns out, is the master of a place called Fablehaven, a refuge for all kinds of magical beasts such as faeries, trolls, and witches.
In the beginning, when I started reading it, I was delighted by the book with some of the interesting twists and turns and the delightful glimpses into the magical world. It had good object and consequenses for ill-advised behaviour. However, about midway through the book, I started to get bored with it because the pattern of the plot became too easy to predict. The boy would do something bad, have a consequense for it, promise not to do anything bad again, and then sure enough, he would be tempted and do something else. For me after a while, this got old. For a child though, it might not get old at all. Perhaps children need that predictability in their stories just as much as they need to know that everything turns out okay in the end. I actualy was so bored with it in the middle though, that I did not finnish this book.
Fablehaven/Fablehaven Rise of the Evening Star.......2007-08-27

Imaginative, adventurous, poignant.......2007-08-25
From the depths of the little-explored world of new writers comes this pure little gem that reminds us just how a children's fantasy should be. I'm sorry, but we do not see writing and story-telling like this much anymore. Since the phenomenon of "Harry Potter" children's fantasy has experienced a growth that is in many cases nothing more than a tumor, but "Fablehaven" proves itself a instant classic.
The story begins the adventures of Kendra and Seth, a sister and brother sent to vacation at their mysterious grandfather's home. Each moment they spend their increases in mystery until the truth is revealed: Dear old grandpa is the caretaker of a preserve that protects what is considered to be the unreal: fairies, goblins, unicorns, etc.
Brandon Mull's characters takes his writing in stride, allowing his characters to explore and deal with each new challenge that comes along. He takes care to describe each detail of this world until Fablehaven is a very real and believable place with its own set of rules.
Be warned: this is not always cutesy. There is a creative darkness that keeps up the storyline. It's fresh, original, and deeply delicious. Mull's characters are not always wild and quirky, but they are three-dimensional, real, and delightfully flawed. Kendra and Seth are people with whom kids can identify, and even adults can remember that uncomfort of the adolescent times.
Not only is this story about the traditional fantasy, it is also an exploration of family and friendship.
"Fablehaven" is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.
Loved Harry Potter! Loved Fablehaven!.......2007-08-21
I loved book 7 of Harry Potter. It was masterful. J.K. Rowling is absolutely brilliant. It wasn't a perfect book, but it was 100% entertaining and rewarding. That said, Brandon Mull must have been a young apprentice to Rowling. And after reading book 2, FABLEHAVEN: RISE OF THE EVENING STAR, I'm certain Mr. Mull took the same master's class in writing as Ms. Rowling.
The FABLEHAVEN series is destined for greatness. I don't think anything will ever reach the success that Potter mania reached, nevertheless, FABLEHAVEN is children's fantasy at its best. A preserve created to protect mythical and magical creatures so they don't go extinct is a wonderful premise. It allows all of us to believe no matter what our age.
As a parent I was very appreciative of the reading guide included. The questions talk about characters and situations dealing with choice and consequence, overcoming fear, finding our strengths, and the role that justice plays and the order it brings, for example. I've spent years trying to teach these moral lessons to my children and this series teaches them and many more all within the magical realm of Fablehaven. The best part is that the messages are so well-disguised within the page-turning story that my kids don't mind learning them. In fact, I've seen my eleven year old begin to live them. Go figure, FABLEHAVEN just might make my kids become better members of society without making me pull my hair out.
FABLEHAVEN will never replace POTTER, but I believe it will become a classic all it's own. It was not a perfect book, but it was 100% entertaining and rewarding. (And FABLEHAVEN, book 2, was even better). And Kendra & Seth and Grandpa & Grandma Sorenson will be lasting, treasured friends in the "Character Hall of Fame" along with Harry & Hermoine and Dumbledore.
