Book Description
"This book clearly illustrates the true nature of disturbed characters, exposes the tactics the most manipulative characters use to pull the wool over the eyes of others, and outlines powerful, practical ways to deal more effectively with manipulative people."

A good start.......2007-10-02
This book describes the manipulative personality quite well, however, I found it rather superficial compared to Snakes in Suits or Who is Pulling Your Strings.
A Real Eye Opener!.......2007-09-25
I devoured this book the very same day it arrived.
I was always left with a tangled up knot of various emotions in trying to deal with a certain family member but could never put my finger on *why*.
This book really opened my eyes!
Wasted money on this one.......2007-09-24
I learned a few new terms, such as "covert aggressive" but I still don't really know how I'm supposed to handle people like this. The book was disappointing, contained case studies and specific suggestions for handling the people in the case studies, but I did not find it valuable or informative.
Cuts to the Chase.......2007-08-29
Wow. I received this book on Monday and have already read it (it's Wednesday) - twice. Until now, I took it for granted that people everywhere are pretty much the same and are all just struggling along, trying to make it the best they can. The manipulators were "out there" in politics, far away in what seemed like another world. I also assumed that many manipulators are driven by insecurity or fear, even though those assumptions never felt quite right. It never occurred to me that some people manipulate others just for the sake of having the upper hand. It also never occurred to me that some people are highly skilled manipulators who target only people they know they can manipulate. Behavior that once seemed inexplicable to me now makes sense, now that I have some insight into what makes covert-aggressive people tick. Although I read this book too late in regards to a certain "friendship," this book has provided me with some tools on dealing with these people in the future.
An unfortunate necessity for performing arts professionals and church staff.......2007-08-15
I am an acoustical and systems design consultant who specializes in the design and functional rehabilitation of worship and performing arts facilities. In my practice, I often encounter what should be easily resolved misunderstandings between technical staff, performers, committee members, and/or clergy, which instead turn into intractable standoffs, or endless sagas of intrigue and treachery. While I have been well-equipped to diagnose and prescribe solutions to technical problems for many years, I had been largely ill-equipped to interact with highly skilled manipulators, or to provide resources to ministry leaders who are often no better prepared for them than I once was, and who fall into many of the manipulative traps described in this book.
While not all such conflicts are the result of covert aggression, I do find that such behavior is disproportionately common in churches, for the same reasons that Simon observes. Church leaders tend to focus on the relational aspects of conflicts to the exclusion of the substance, and thereby make churches exceptionally vulnerable to the skilled manipulator, who is very adept at exploiting the good will of trusting but naive people. I have watched manipulators have a field day with such tactics as blame-shifting, playing victim, playing servant (while building an empire in plain view), slander campaigns against anyone wise to their motives, and most of the other tactics thrown in for good measure.
Covert aggression is also common in the secular performing arts, as many performers find that their character issues will be overlooked so long as other attributes, such as talent or popularity, are at least perceived to be present by key decision-makers. See also Rory Noland's excellent The Heart of the Artist. Those performers with covert aggressive personalities often gravitate to roles of artistic leadership, such as the conductor, director, producer, etc. Such people see themselves as having a birthright to be in charge, and once entrusted with a position of leadership, they will stop at nothing to build the most grandiose artistic empire they can envision. Many of these attitudes and behavior patterns from the secular performing arts world have been transplanted into the worship arts world with only changes in pretext. In either place, they victimize the majority of sincere artists along with most of the other people that, through no fault of their own, come into contact with those few who are character-disordered.
So far, I have found Simon's book to be quite useful as an accessible but accurate introduction to this subject. It is the perfect book to put in the long-suffering victim's hands to help them understand what has really been happening in the nightmare they have been living. Once they have learned to recognize and name the offender's tactics, they can then try out some of the new tools they have been given to start changing the pattern of interaction with their abuser. It is also a necessary introduction for leaders who are called upon to correct these situations, especially when they are partly culpable due to having failed to exercise due discernment, and have unwittingly aided and abetted the manipulator. Finally, I believe that this book's greatest value is as a "vaccine" of knowledge to help potential future victims or unwitting enablers to identify manipulative behavior and "nip it in the bud."
I would urge every minister, church administrator, and lay leader, as well as every secular and religious artist, artistic leader, technical professional or volunteer, and technical leader, to buy and read this book as if your career depended on it - because it just might. Each of those listed above, as well as many others in today's working world, are just one bad hiring or promotion decision away from *needing* this book.

In Sheep's Clothing: A Handspinner's Guide to Wool
Absolutely essential for handspinners that are deciding on which sheep breed to buy.
Way Cool Book for Spinners and Weavers.......2007-03-22
Amazing book that details the different types of sheep and the types and quality of wool that they produce. Now when I go to Maryland Sheep and Wool festival, I'll better understand what I'm looking at, and understand better what wools will satisfy my requirements.
Noble effort, great idea, disappointing in the end.......2007-01-16
I've had this book for a number of years and I've returned to it for information concerning different types of wool. I believe that this book is supposed to help a spinner choose a fleece when purchasing either whole or partial fleeces for spinning. However, I've been disappointed that the information is too incomplete to be really helpful in that respect and the format isn't conducive to quick cross referencing or making comparisons.
At the beginning of the book there is a short primer on wools, in general. There is also a short explanation of woolen vs. worsted yarn and the different types of fleece, whether fine wools, long wools, or down wools. I'm not sure why this information is being given in a book that appears to be directed at a spinner who has sufficient experience to consider purchasing an entire fleece.
The authors give a very nice summary, or reference guide at the beginning of each chapter that rates the softness, elasticity, staple length luster and felting properties. I liked the chart format here. If the information for each fiber type had been summarized in this format throughout the book, it would have made it more of an "at-a-glance" type of reference and the spinner could have made comparisons between fibers.
The photos show a lock of each type of fleece against a contrasting background, several sample projects from each division of fiber and now and then, a photo of an animal. The information is short and covers only the basics. There are suggestions for possible uses for each type of fiber. I appreciate that, especially considering that the authors are attempting to describe something that only a hands-on experience can confirm. To only see pictures of single locks isn't nearly enough to get a good idea of what a type of fiber is like. It's kind of like trying to describe what an orange tastes like without actually getting to taste one. To actually make this book more user friendly, I've put all of the Louet wool sample cards that I could get my hands on in with the appropriate pages. It makes the book easier to use if I can actually touch a sample of what is being described.
If this book had a photo of each type of animal, both before shearing and in full fleece, along with the fiber photos, I would place a higher value on it. As it is, I use this book as a starting point and go to the internet or library to find out more information on a breed type or a fleece type. To be honest, finding detailed information about all breeds of fiber producing sheep in one single volume is impossible, so I know I'm asking a lot. To find samples of each type of fiber is an heroic task as well, so I understand how difficult it is to produce what I'm asking. However, it seems that the authors went to a lot of work to research and photograph all of these types of fiber, only to leave out about half of what they had to have learned during their research.
Throughout the book, there are suggestions for specialized spinning techniques and possible uses for each type of fiber. The book ends with a short primer on hand carding, hand combing and spinning. Again, I'm confused as to why beginner information is being included in a volume that appears to target the more experienced spinner.
Overall, I think this is a noble effort, but it falls short of being the spectacular volume it could have been. Including animal photos and extending the information to cover more than the bare bones would have been a wonderful addition. It would have also raised the price astronomically. Condensing the information into chart form for a spinner to use for the purposes of comparison and contrast would have been a practical addition. I use this book and I will always have it as part of my library, but it's just not the reference I was hoping for.
A must for the spinner, especially a newbie!.......2006-08-23
After you have "gotten your feet wet" in the spinning world, you'll be looking for a book with a good explanation of the different types of wool that are available. (Looking even at ebay for wool fleece to buy and spin, will even make you totally confused! This book is a wonderful reference I look to all of the time for explanations of different types of wool, complete with pictures. After all, you wouldn't want to buy wool that was good only for a rug, when you want to spin wool for a sweater!
This book gives you good info about the different types of breeds, etc. This book lives on my computer desk!
In Sheep's Clothing.......2005-10-16
this book is a fabulous guide for any handspinner looking for specific qualities of wool. as a shepherd it also has given me the ability of compare breeds for future lamb purchases. It has a very professional approach to understanding wool from a knitter, weaver and handspinners point of view.

Only with the help of their friends -- a group of Americans and Russians committed to freedom -- can they outwit the old guard . . . and save Gracie's secret, as well as her life.
Customer Reviews:
Tantalizingly written novel of intrigue, friendship, and loyalty.......2007-03-28
Gracie is an American missionary serving in Russia who doesn't think she's very good at her job because she hasn't led anyone to Christ. Only days before her visa expires and she must leave the country, she discovers two friends and fellow missionaries have been murdered. Now she must rely on FSB (formerly known as the KGB) Captain Vicktor to protect her from becoming the next victim of his arch nemesis, The Wolf.
This is a wonderful tale of suspense that is filled with beautiful moments of Christian discovery and growth. Susan May Warren is a wonderful writer who transports her audience into the heart of Russia so skillfully that your senses are nearly overcome.
BUY IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-01-17
This book kept me up all night (when I should have been studying for mid terms)!!! Gracie is a missionary who felt as though she had done a horrible job. FSB agent Vicktor Shubnikov is like another young Russian man. There is a killer on the loose with motives that date back to the cold war. Gracie is caught in the middle of it all, along with a very handsome Russian agent. As the book goes along secrets from both their past and Gracie's friend's past are uncovered to relieve a sinister plot. But at the same time the Russian agent and Gracie find strength and comfort in each other as they cope with their past. This story also teaches the important lesson of forgivness. When you start this book there is no putting it down. It may sound all mushy- gushy, but heck no! This is definitely a romance/ suspense book.If you pass this book up you're missing out on alot!!!!!
Another 5 star thriller by Susan May Warren.......2006-06-13
Gracie Benson feels like a failure, after 2 years in Russia she has failed to lead a single soul to the Lord. Just before her scheduled departure she walks into a murder scene and her life will never be the same......in fact it may soon be over.
Enter Vicktor Shubinikov..FSB agent. Is he on Gracie's side or her worst enemy. Why do people keep turning up dead? Who is the Wolf?
In Sheep"s Clothing is a first rate thriller and Susan having lived in Russia adds a realistic view to the story. I highly recomend this book.
If you like romantic suspense. . . .......2006-01-18
You will love this book! Susan May Warren writes a great suspense story, zipping you along with powerful word choices and electric, tension-filled dialogue. When her heroine, American missionary Gracie Benson, meets Vicktor Shubnikov, a kind-hearted, down-on-his-luck KGB agent, the story becomes a snowball barreling downhill, grabbing your heart and making you feel like you are in Siberia right along with them, running for your life from a serial killer. It's also a wonderful love story. It's so good you will want to read it again, more slowly the second time!
An exciting tale of mystery, suspense, and romance.......2005-12-17
Feeling depressed and like a total failure, missionary Gracie Benson is preparing to leave her assignment in post-Cold War Russia and return to the United States. Though she worked very hard throughout her mission, she did not win any souls and was not even able to lead her best friend to the Lord. Discouraged but not hopeless, Gracie's biggest test is about to begin. However, her departure is anything but smooth as she soon finds herself embroiled in some very political intrigue. She is not only stranded in the middle of Siberia but her friends begin turning up dead, enemies are professing to be friendly, and cherished companions betray her trust.
Enter Vicktor Nickolaiovich Shubnikov, who inadvertently sends sparks flying between them from the moment they meet. Vicktor, formerly with the KGB, is now known as the kinder, gentler FSB agent dedicated to making the Soviet Union a safer member of the world community. He is on a mission of his own, though it has nothing to do with winning souls. It has to do with tracking down an enemy known only as The Wolf, so named for the vicious way he stalks and kills his prey. Vicktor and Gracie cross paths when her supervisors are found murdered, and The Wolf is the primary suspect.
Christy Award finalist Susan May Warren was herself a missionary in Russia, and her unique insights lend a special flavor of authenticity to this exciting tale of mystery, suspense and romance. Once you sort through the myriad of characters introduced early in the story, complete with unpronounceable Russian names and nicknames, the tale moves along quickly to a compelling conclusion. Throughout, the reader is challenged to ask and answer significant questions that face believers and non-believers alike. "How could a loving God allow good people to come to such a horrible end?" "Why is it so difficult for some to accept Jesus?" "How much credit or blame can we take when we 'fail' or 'succeed' in our mission?" In addition, there are study questions provided at the end for further discussion.
IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING is an excellent novel that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Looks at the harmful effect of the phenomenon of transference on churches and lives, and explains how to identify and overcome it.
Customer Reviews:
Insightful for a broad audience.......2002-11-13
McIntyre's book is an incredible testimony of personal experience in emotional enmeshment and the underlying spiritual and psychological issues that accompany it. It is also an incredible explication of how this common emotional condition is connected to christian concepts of idolatry. For those who have been caught up in the emotional turmoil and conflict that is common in these kinds of experiences, especially when they come out in a church, counseling or ministry context as well as interpersonal relationships, this book can bring insight and clarity to the spiritual and emotional underpinnings of this common condition. Contrary to some interpretations, this book does not label "transference" as "sin", but rather points out from a testimonial and pastoral perspective how the dynamics of transference play an integral part in emotional enmeshment, emotional dependence and emotional idolatry in present relationships. It also covers well how to deal with it outside the therapy office in the contexts in which it can occurr. It is not a substitute for more in-depth psychological understanding of the concepts presented, or for therapy where it is needed. It is a great book for gaining insight and initial understanding on a pastoral level about issues that are tumultuous and confusing in nature.
Protective Armor for the Flock.......2000-07-24
McIntyre's book is an absolute MUST read for the lay or professional pastoral worker/counselor. Her insights regarding the dynamic of transference are penetrating and relevant to a proper understanding of the subject. Whether you are being transferred onto, or have engaged in this behavior yourself, McIntyre's book illimunates the subject in such a way as to enlighten the reader to the harmful effects of pressing transferences, the appropriate measures and precautions to take when we're the object of transference, as well as what to do if we're the one in transference. A much needed and useful tool in spiritual and emotional warfare.

THOROUGH LOOK AT PROBLEMS INVOLVED IN TRANSFERENCE.......2000-01-12
The book i personally found very helpful in my own family setting as it looks on why people transfer their emotions onto others. It deals wisely with the need to find wholeness in our relationship with God - to open the memories which when repressed can lead us to transfer onto others. For the one transfered upon the importance of holding onto the truth and not wallowing in a reactive and subjective attitude is made clear. The book has helped me feel less alone and fearful in response to others' transferance and also my own unhealedness. I recommend the book as a 'restoring' book to those 'subject' to their own unresolved needs and those of others.

What? .......2007-09-10
Identity theft is a difficult subject for obvious reasons. Can you make your protagonist symphathetic enough for us to feel that their actions are justified? Can you make us dislike the antagonist enough, to feel that they are deserving of such treatment? I was interested to see how a story like this would work and where national best-selling author Mary Monroe, would take us in this her sixth novel.
If I had to use one word to describe this effort it would be "What?". It seemed to me that great effort was made to keep the main characters somewhat grey and likeable, instead they were underdeveloped and as a result, completely unsympathetic. I am still trying to figure out what compelling reasons the protagonist had for choosing to steal as she did. The death of her mom sixteen years earlier? Having a boss who acted like a boss and not a sistah girl friend? The antagonist, who was supposed to be an evil woman, was more a mystery than anything else and in my mind, was someone to be ignored, rather than seek revenge on. Freddie (Trudy's best friend and supposed voice of reason) was simply wishy washy. The lesser parts the characters had to play, the more stereotypical they became.
Ms. Monroe's writing is plain and painfully convuluted and the story often took off in tangents that neither moved the story along nor provided any insight. The climax was pat and rushed and ultimately there were no lasting reprecussions and no redemption for Trudy.
There is so much lost potential here. The opportunity to go deeper and create a compelling tale was lost. I am truly disappointed and frustrated. This is undoubtedly my first and last Mary Monroe novel.
Bashing the Bourgeoisie.......2007-08-07
This is my first Monroe book, so I have to be open-minded. I don't mind that the main character was unlikable. I don't mind that her friends and co-workers were the kind of people I tend to avoid. I do mind when authors bash the "African American Bourgeoisie". Charles Dickens is the master of the "noble poor" theme. With Monroe, I never felt that her character was noble, just an angry, bitter, self obsessed woman. Ann was her alter ego in the story. Ann, an African American woman with a college degree and could speak several languages. ..was evil? The message I got from this book was "you better stay away from college..young black women of America..it can mess you up, it can mess up your kids too." I guess I am not a fan of that brand of thinking. Success is not synonymous with selling out.
Yeah it could have been better!.......2007-06-26
This was an ok book I expected it to be a lot better! But thats cool cause I am still a fan of Mary Monroe!
A worthwhile read.......2007-05-24
I really enjoyed this novel and whenever someone asks me to suggest a good book, I always recommend this one. Actually, the main character Trudy is kind of pathetic, she is stuck in a routine life, with a boring job and a boring man. After she is violated she decides to "take control" of her life and get a new job and a new outlook on life. Unfortunately, her taking control causes more trouble and she finds herself in another situation that leads to nowhere good. Even though Trudy leads a depressing life, Monroe makes it a very engaging story. I think a lot of women can identify with Trudy at one time in their lives or another. Life sometimes gets routine with waking up, going to a job you hate and coming home watching TV every day. But Trudy manages to spice things up and therefore allows the reader to do so as well.
Don't Do It.......2007-03-26
I was so disappointed in this book! It's a very slow read and you spend most of your reading awaiting something to occur. I have been bored for the majority of the book. I am a reader who attempts to finish what I start. I have been reading this book since December 23, 2006. It is now, March 2007. If you purchase this book, buy it used. Better yet, you can have mine!
Book Description
When genealogist Torie O'Shea gets an invitation from her favorite aunt, Sissy, to come and spend some time with her in Minnesota she jumps at the chance. When she arrives, however, Torie finds out that the invitation was not so innocent: Sissy has uncovered a 150-year-old diary in the attic of her home and is dying to find out who wrote it and where it came from. Torie dives in and soon discovers that the author of the diary, a young Swedish woman, had fallen in love with a man she couldn't have. When the diary ends with hints of brutal violence, Torie becomes enmeshed in a mystery passed down through generations. Fans of Rett MacPherson's cozy genea-logy mysteries will delight in the inventive plot and com-fortable, warm characters that have come to characterize this wonderful series.
Customer Reviews:
Series just keeps getting better and better!.......2005-06-02
I read this book in one sitting. It has everything - a mystery, contemporary and historical family relation issues, and fantastic character development.
I found myself almost in tears about "Anna's story" and to me, that is GREAT writing!
This story was told with true emotion and sensitivity and it has become my favorite in the series so far (and I've enjoyed them all!).
Highly recommended.
ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL.......2004-09-01
What a delightful read. Character developement is excellent and the story line is smooth. Simple is not always the best, but in this case it works. I found myself actually caring about the character's. I seldom, very seldom, read mystries of any sort, but my wife pushed this one off one me, I read it to make her happy and I must say she did me a favor. Actually, some of our other younger authors could take some lessons with this one. Highly recommend this read. I think I will go out and get the author's other books now. Thank you Ms Macpherson.
refreshing wholesome and cerebral who-done-it.......2004-02-02
When Torie O'Shea receives an invitation for her and her husband Rudy to stay at her favorite aunt's home in Oin Minnesota, she eagerly accepts. Accompanying them is her stepfather Sheriff Colin Brooke who rubs her the wrong way but who makes her mother very happy. Aunt Sissy plans for the two men to be out fishing while she and her niece try to find out what happened to a seventeen year old girl who lived over century ago in the same home Sissy lives in now.
Sissy found an unbound diary of the young woman she wants to learn about but with no names mentioned, she needs Torie's genealogical and historical background to try and figure out what became of her and why. While Torie is sifting through records and pestering people with questions, her stepfather winds up in jail suspect of killing the owner of the local marina. Two deaths, centuries apart; a coincidence or a family curse?
IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING is a refreshing wholesome and cerebral who-done-it starring a heroine who is so adorable it is impossible not to like her. Her relationship with her stepfather while at times acrimonious is also hilarious and adds some levity to a plot loaded with innumerable red herrings. Rett McPherson is a talented writer who creates refreshing original works

A Family Feud turns to love.......2004-04-21
When Harriet Allistair's uncle passed away, she inherited his farm in Montana. Her family didn't want her to move, but she needed to get away from them to prove that she could survive on her own. More importantly, she needed to prove to herself that she could survive on her own.
No one had told her that there was a generations old family feud going on in Montana between the Allistair's and the Hazard's. No one told her that her uncle's farm bordered on Hazard land. And no one could have told her she'd fall in love with Nathan Hazard.
From their first meeting, Harriet is infuriated with Nathan Hazard. He was a know it all. He had tried to convince her to sell the farm to him. Yet, she finds herself hoping that he will stop by the farm so that she can see him again.
Nathan Hazard had never met a woman as stubborn as Harriet. He can't wait until she realizes she can't handle the farm and returns home. But somehow he has fallen for this woman and she's an Allistair!
Can this family feud finally end? Will Harriet prove herself to her family? Is Nathan the man to help her start a new life in Montana?
This Harlequin Desire novel will keep you guessing.

Book Description
Faced with the collapse of the American dream at home and the decline of their global empire abroad, American liberals have dumped the 1960s-era radicalism of their youth and become complicit in a complex game of bait-and-switch, selling the world a vision of liberal democracy that is, in reality, a failed system on the verge of social and economic collapse.
In the tradition of Tom Wolfe and Hunter S. Thompson, Stephen Marshall, a Sundance Award-winning director and co-founder of Guerrilla News Network, hits the road and travels from the front lines of the Iraq war, through the wasteland of the former Communist Eastern bloc, into a coke-dusted sex party of Britain's intellectual elite, and into the minds of America's most influential liberal figures.
Marshall finds America's most powerful liberals, all part of the same baby boomer generation that has dominated US political life since their voices broke in the 1960s, pushing a new form of "liberal interventionism" that threatens to use force to bring political freedom to oppressed people. But is the democracy they are exporting to the world really what they say it is? Or have liberals buckled under the pressure of America's declining fortunes and taken on the role of good cop to the conservatives' bad?
Featuring interviews with Christopher Hitchens, Gore Vidal, David Horowitz, Lewis Lapham, John Avlon,
The Economist's John Micklethwait,
Guardian Editor-in-Chief Alan Rusbridger, and best-selling authors Thomas Friedman, Paul Berman, and John Perkins.
Customer Reviews:
A must read.......2007-08-24
This is the story of the death of American Liberalism, told by some of the very people who helped kill it. Far from the typical liberal claptrap or conservative diatribe, Marshall's fiercely independant examination of the left's rightward drift is a unique, character driven narrative that keeps you turning pages.
GREAT READ - both informative and entertaining!.......2007-08-14
Marshall's look at the liberal elite and why they have turned against their once radical ways is incredibly informative, well researched, insightful, and best of all, a fun read!
Great for political animals and novices alike, Marshall tackles a unique subject matter with flair and style.
I highly recommend!
How liberalism lost its soul.......2007-06-04
Don't let the title fool you. Wolves in Sheep's Clothing is not a neo-conservative diatribe against bleeding-heart liberals who don't toe the party line with the current administration in the White House. Rather, Wolves in Sheep's Clothing is about the anti-establishment leaders who protested the Vietnam War, but are now willing to go to war to advance the cause of free-market capitalism. Without providing cookie-cutter solutions to the world's problems, Marshall probes the deeper questions regarding liberal interventionism and laissez-faire capitalism that are currently lost in the facade of today's culture war, which, according to Marshall, is simply a masquerade to keep the public from discovering that both parties are part of the same corporate industrial establishent. Not only does Marshall provoke the reader to ponder the place of authentic liberalism in contemporary American politics, he also challenges the reader to re-examine the messianic complex that many Americans have regarding America's role in spreading freedom and democracy to the world. This is a must-read for those who wonder why the vast majority of the non-Western world resist America's version of liberal democracy.
one of the best writers in his generation.......2007-05-02
Marshall has adopted the style of Capote and Tom Wolfe by giving his characters a literary treatment. The effect is to educate as much as entertain... to bring us into the minds of these (mostly brilliant) thinkers on all parts of the political spectrum. His discussion with Hitchens, Gore Vidal... not to mention those with a reluctant Serbian revolutionary leader and are riveting in a way that is not at all common with books of this genre. As one reviewer wrote in the Statesman, "Eminently readable... Marshall leaves the reader genuinely moved." I was moved... to begin to rethink what liberalism truly means and how it must change if the word is to actually maintain any authentic value as an alternative to conservatism.
A gonzo intellectual journey.......2007-04-28
Wolves is a must read. So many of the political books that come my way are either redundant or homework. Marshall doesn't shove his opinion down your throat. He takes you along a real intellectual journey of discovery. It will get your neurons firing on multiple levels as you are challenged to figure out where you stand on the most important issues of the day. The section with Hitchens (and his brother) is brilliant, and most illuminating piece on the controversial writer ever written.
