Book Description
Alex Cross' family is in terrible danger--at the same time that his new job with the FBI brings him the scariest case of his career. A team of kidnappers has been snatching successful, upstanding men and women right before their families' eyes--possibly to sell them into slavery. Alex's knowledge of the D.C. streets, together with his unique insights into criminal psychology, make this mindbending case one that only he can solve--if he can just get his colleagues to set aside their staid and outdated methods. With unexpected twists and whiplash surprises, this is another brilliantly irresistible novel from America's bestselling suspense writer.
Customer Reviews:
Patterson is always a 5 in my book........2007-07-21
Once again I was very happy with Patterson. He is a masterful story teller.
Great reading.......2007-07-03
Read in order. All Alex Cross novels should be read in order. This one was exciting.
It's OK.......2007-05-31
It's entertaining. The main character, Alex Cross, just has to much focus put on him. He's almost made into a superstar instead of a cop. Too much to be believable. The side stories of his personal life & children seem to be added fluff. The end leaves itself open for continuation. By far, not one of Patterson's best works.
ALEX CROSS FANS (JAMES PATTERSON) "THE BIG BAD WOLF".......2007-04-11

Book Description
Tanzy Harrington is the ultimate Alpha Female. As the Bay Area's most-read single-scene columnist and self-proclaimed love-'em-and-leave-'em artist, she's not about to tie herself down to one man--especially when "settling down" seems awfully close to simply "settling." But when all of her friends are happily married--and reproducing--she's starting to feel a little bit like she's missing something important. What is it about those dependable guys--the sheep who follow along--that makes Tanzy want to prowl the hot spots looking for a wolf to take home to her lair?
And then there's Riley Parrish, her eccentric aunt's mysterious new employee. He's a sheep, all right ... right? But under his polite, good-provider exterior, she catches a glimpse of something decidedly wolfish lurking in his eyes.
With a deranged fan stalking her, her friends cooing over china patterns and baby outfits, and a deadline her editor won't extend, Tanzy's experiment in wolf-taming may be ill-thought, but it sure is a howling good time.?
Download Description
Why is it that I'm not willing to settle for a sheep like the rest of my friends?
Sheep sex aside, what's wrong with a man who puts family first, who maintains a steady job, has college funds set up for his kids and builds that nest egg for his retirement? Member of the herd, never straying. Solid, dependable Sheep Guy. Why can't I love Sheep Guy?
For me, it's all those wolves. They distract me from the sheep. Wolf Guy. Always on the prowl. Totally alpha. Not interested in being domesticated. So what is it about these men that makes my heart speed up in a way no sheep ever has or ever will?
Tanzy Harrington is the Bay Area's most-read romance columnist and self-proclaimed love-'em-and-leave-'em artist -- and she's not quite ready to tie herself down to one man. That is, until Riley Parrish lands on the scene.
When Tanzy agrees to house-sit for her eccentric great-aunt, she finds herself sharing close quarters with Riley. At first he seems a bit too much like the "sheep" Tanzy derides in her column -- too polite, the classic boring good provider. But when she catches a glimpse of the "wolf" lurking in his eyes, the ultimate alpha female is about to take a fall.
"Women everywhere will be taking Big Bad Wolf to bed with them. Donna Kauffman writes smart and sexy, with sizzle to spare!"
JANET EVANOVICH
Customer Reviews:
Kauffman's BEST.......2005-12-22
I actually read this book after i read "The Cinderella Rules" "Dear Prince Charming" and "Sleeping With Beauty" (i would recommend those books to anyone who wants a fun read.
Anyways, back to the book.
I purchased this book on ebay for a relatively cheap price and began reading it once i got it in the mail. Also, two of my friends have borrowed this book and absolutely adored it as much as I did.
The characterizations are awesome and witty lines are amazing.
It all starts when Tanzy (yes, that's her name, well actually, it's Tanzanita. Pretty bad, but name aside) has to house-sit for her Great Aunt Millicent. But, at the same time, her aunt has left Riley to stay in the house at the same time. As always, sparks fly. But is Riley a sheep all the way or a wolf at heart?
So, as Tanzy is trying to figure out Riley, SoulM8 steps into the picture. A complete stranger that begins to talk to Tanzy via e-mail. Is SoulM8 a harmless fan or a dangerous stalker? Read "The Big Bad Wolf Tells All" to find out...
and until then... HAPPY READING!
Terrible ending.......2005-07-04
The main character was cool, the romance was ok, but the suspense plot climax where the identity of the stalker is revealed was predictable, pathetic and small minded. Even a bit bigoted. I can't believe Janet Evanovich blurbed this book.
A fun easy book.......2005-06-07
Although The Big Bad Wolf Tells All is not what a would call a literary novel, it was a fun and easy book to read that would be perfect for a day at the beach.
Tanzy never needed a man to make her feel safe and secure and she certainly never wanted to be in a relationship but life has unexpected surprises.
When Tanzy is threatened by an obsessed fan, she goes to live in her aunts house where unknown to her, is her body guard, Riley. To Tanzy, Riley is a sheep meaning that he is the marrying kind of man but she sees glimpses of a wolf. The type of man that is good for one thing, and one thing only and its not marriage. While Riley is protecting Tanzy, the attracting is undeniable and the sparks start to fly.
Smart and sexy are the two best words to descrive this book. Get a copy and just have some fun for an afternoon or two.
Brace your inner wolf! .......2005-05-02
Tanzy (where do they come up with these names??) is a columnist of an on-live sex advice column. She is cynical and categorizes men into two groups - wolves and sheep's. She is a love `em and leave `em gal - more like a guy, and finds that she is only attracted to fellow wolves. She has contempt for those that want the happily ever after, and thus manages to attract the attention of a stalker named SoulM8te.
When her elderly aunt asks her to housesit, she comes face to face with a sheep that she actually finds herself drawn to. Riley Parrish is no ordinary sheep - more like a wolf in sheep's clothing. He was hired by auntie to protect her and investigate the stalker, and decides the ultimate way to do so is to hide behind a disguise.
Full of humorous situations and plenty of innuendo to keep you attention, this one is a great read, and you will find yourself getting caught up in Tanzy's rollercoaster ride as she opens herself up to new possibilities.
Great Weekend Read!.......2005-04-11
I found this book on the shelf and with Janet Evanovich recommendation on the cover I took a chance. I loved it -- it's not rocket science but a nice weekend or plane book.

Book Description
What would happen if a little boy met the Big, Bad Wolf and brought him home?
Who’s afraid of the big, bad wolf? Not the young hero of this thoroughly unique story. And, it seems, no one else is, either: instead of being the magnificent villain of “The Three Little Pigs” or “Little Red Riding Hood,” this wolf’s a wimp. So the boy decides to take the pitiful creature home and teach him to be scary once again. Can he do it? Children will absolutely love seeing the tables turned, with the small boy becoming the wise teacher and the wolf the sheepish student.
The short chapters and breezy, funny text are just right for new readers, and Delphine Perret’s line art is simply irresistible.
Customer Reviews:
Brilliant.......2007-09-17
I bought this book at our local bookstore mainly because I was so impressed with it as an adult. My (almost) 7 year old daughter took a few readings with which to get into it but that it what I find so fantastic about the way that it is written and illustrated. Having to read the same books over and over for a small child can become tedious for a parent and this is one of the rare stories which is timeless and yet told from a completely new and unique perspective. (Plus it reminds me quite a bit of my little manipulator and how she would have plied a wolf with the cookies.)
This is a wonderful find for both children and their parents alike.
Translated from French.......2006-10-30
It is always fun to find a book that has global appeal in its humor. This is a book that can be enjoyed by the reader and the small child as well. The humor is clever, silly, and fun. With a few sentences on each page and several simple illustrations on each page this book reads like a cartoon strip. Children like the fact that the boy has control over the Big Bad Wolf. They ask to have this one read over and over again. Early readers can handle this one on their own.
A new favorite in our household.......2006-08-29
My son is 8 years old and this book is a real hit. We have read it many times and it's fun every time. The book is in a cartoon format, and the dialog reminds me very much of Calvin and Hobbes. The relationship between the boy and the wolf is entertaining and funny, and a new reader can easily participate in the voices. The humor is simple enough for children to understand, but sophisticated enough to appeal to parents. This one is a winner -- we look forward to more from Delphine Perret.

Book Description
Whenever there's trouble on Detective Doggedly's beat, that low-down, no-good, chicken-chasing, pig-poaching Big Bad Wolf is always the prime suspect. But when the three little pigs" house is huffed and puffed into a pile of straw and only a sheep named Esmeralda is found at the scene of the crime, Doggedly has a new mystery to solve: Where's the Big Bad Wolf? With the help of some wise elderly cows who live in a home across the road, Doggedly sniffs out the clues. But can he catch the culprit before the three little pigs get gobbled up? Here's a new wrinkle on the classic tale, enlivened by Eileen Christelow's fast-paced narrative style and her drolly comic illustrations.
Customer Reviews:
wonderful adaptation of the classic tale!.......2003-08-28
My sons (ages 7 and 5) absolutely love this book. Esmerelda is a wolf in sheep's clothing who tries to convince the gullible pigs to build ever-flimsier homes ("Build a cardboard house! It's so much easier"). Detective Phineas T. Doggedly finally tracks down the BBW (Big Bad Wolf) with the help of the elderly cows who live nearby. It's a great book with captivating illustrations and characters. So far as we're concerned, it ranks right up there with Steven Kellogg's "Three Little Pigs" and "The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig". Definitely a classic -- I'm really surprised that no one has reviewed it before.
Book Description
Poor Wolf—he’s so lonely! Nobody wants to be his friend.
Not the ducklings, not the goslings, not the fuzzy yellow chicks. “Perhaps it’s because
I’m big and scary,” he thinks. “Perhaps it’s because I’m bad, bad, bad.” Then he has a bright idea: What if he changes his ways and becomes good? What if he does a noble deed?
But, none of the animals will listen when Wolf tries to tell them about his new plan.
They just flee in terror, slamming the door right in his face. Then something really awful happens: one of the ducklings disappears and everybody thinks Wolf has eaten him all up. Can the Big Bad Wolf prove he didn’t have duck for dinner—and bring the lost little baby safely home? A charming and delightfully fractured fairy tale about friendship, and a
wonderful example for children that a person can change, with sweet and funny
illustrations that will delight youngsters over and over again.
Customer Reviews:
The Big Bad Wolf's karma finally catches up with him........2006-09-28
With his oil painted canvas pictures, this is a book that expresses the greatness of imperfection. It's nice to see that all the lines don't have to be followed and all the areas don't have to be painted. It almost gives you that Winnie the Pooh's 100 Acre Wood feeling which is always a warm memory. The Big Bad Wolf makes a conscious decision to be good because being bad is so lonely. The poor wolf finds out that all the bad things he's done in his life are still following him regardless of his decision to be useful, good and do noble deeds. All the animals that he has been bad to assume that he is bad when they see him and don't give him a chance to prove he has really changed, they are all just afraid to get eaten. Thanks to a little lost duck, Big Bad Wolf proves to the mom and the duck's siblings that he can do good and requests, after he eats 11 cookies and drinks 3 cups of tea the mom duck offers him, that she call him the Big Good Wolf. This is a cute story about being a lonely bully who finally sees the error in his ways.
The one thing I did find strange about this story is that all the other characters besides the wolf are ducks and chicks. Isn't the Big Bad Wolf a pig terrorizer?
It's good to see the good side of the big, bad, wolf ..........2006-03-16
My three year old son is fascinated with the big, bad wolf. He loves the stories of The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood, and many of his pretend-play games revolve around the evil antics of the big, bad wolf. When we went to the library he wanted a book about the big, bad wolf ... of course. On searching the database I found this book and thought it might be nice for him to see that even the big, bad, wolf can be good. He has really enjoyed this book about the wolf wanting to be good so someone will be his friend. On the last page the wolf asks the duck if he can be called the big, good wolf going forward, and the duck hugs him and says that he will always be the big, bad wolf, but he will always be good too. A very cute book, and if you like reading your little one's a book with a moral, this certainly has a good one.
Big Bad Wolf is good.......2002-03-26

People say: The Big Bad Wolf has a long snout and sharp teeth! And if you look through the die-cut hole, you can even see them. But turn the page for a big surprise. The wolf is picking flowers! Maybe he's not so bad after all! In fact, at the end of the book, we see the wolf as a lovable daddy, showering his pups with hugs and kisses. This suspenseful story enables children to face their fears and conquer them again and again. Die-cut pages and richly colored acrylic paintings with humorous details make this tale a visual feast!

Don't Judge a Book by its Cover.......2002-12-09
Big Bad Wolf has a wonderful cover that compels you to open it, but little do you know what you'll find inside! With the help of charming illustrations and enchanting peep-holes, Claire Masurel's touching story leads you into the very lair of the wolf. Be brave! Children and parents alike will love this little book that has lots to say.
A wolf has feelings too!.......2002-12-09
Another sweet natured book by Claire Masurel. It taught my nephew that although the usual "bad press" a wolf receives in children's literature, as in any family, there is caring!
He so enjoyed learning, at the end, that the little wolves are loved and cared for by their families. The fun of the cut out with the eyes appearing from page to page added to the appeal of this book.. I would recommend Big Bad Wolf for any child who loves animals and loves to read!
A winner that debunks the myth of that Old Boogie Man.......2002-12-09
Big Bad Wolf is a charming book that gently debunks the myth of the Big Bad Wolf. Through the use of cleverly placed see-through cut-outs, all the things we think are true about this scary guy are proved to be false. My 7 year-old son adores this book, and it has become the favorite of his 1st grade class. When the Big Bad Wolf plays Big Bad Wolf for his own children, the gentle irony will not be lost on even the youngest readers. We love this book!
Customer Reviews:
Excellent fractured fairy tale.......2007-01-06
I used this book in a unit teaching on fractured fairy tales. I had my students follow the story of the Big Bad Wolf and the Three Little Pigs. They loved the trial as depicted in this story. It certainly helped free up their minds to write their own alternative ending to the trial. I highly recommend this book for any teacher trying to teach a creative writing lesson

Kids love it!.......2005-04-03
I read this book to my preschoolers during our annual hop-a-thon for the MDA. The kids do not even think about Red being in a wheelchair until I point it out. The kids just see a familiar character and laugh at the antics in the story. It is a great book for teaching that children with disabilities are just like other children.
Product Description
From the Publisher "Alex Cross battles the most ruthless and powerful killer he has ever encountered - a predator known only as the Wolf." "Alex Cross's first case since joining the FBI has his new colleagues stymied. Across the country, men and women are being kidnapped in broad daylight and then disappearing completely. These people are not being taken for ransom, Alex realizes. They are being bought and sold. And it looks as if a shadowy figure called the Wolf - a master criminal who has brought a new reign of terror to organize crime - is behind this business in which ordinary men and women are sold as slaves." "Even as he admires the FBI's vast resources, Alex grows impatient with the Bureau's clumsiness and caution when it is time to move. A lone wolf himself, he has to go out on his own in order to track the Wolf and try to rescue some of the victims while they are still alive." As the case boils over, Alex is in hot water at home too. His ex-fiancee, Christine Johnson, comes back into his life - and not for the reasons Alex might have hoped.
