Book Description
Due to popular demand, this extraordinary book project by Damien Hirst is now available in a reduced format. This dynamic and provocative collection of Hirst's ideas and obsessions is a powerful combination of text and visual elements. Each piece is set against a visual narrative of drawings, words, photography, typography, pop-ups, and other special effects that make this book like no other. An essay by cult novelist Gordon Burn looks at Hirst's work and the breadth of its impact. Designed by Jonathan Barnbrook, this is a landmark publication that has redefined the fine art monograph. AUTHOR BIO: Damien Hirst was born in Bristol and studied fine art at Goldsmiths College in London. In 1995, he won the prestigious Turner Prize. He has had recent solo exhibitions at the White Cube, London; the Marble Palace, Russia; Saatchi Gallery, London; Gagosian Gallery, New York; and Tate Gallery, London. Gordon Burn is an award-winning writer of both fiction and nonfiction. His book of interviews with Damien Hirst, On the Way to Work, was published in 2002.
Customer Reviews:
this book is a masterpiece by Hirst and Barnbrook.......2000-11-23
What a tour de force! This is one of the most beautifully designed books money can buy. Jonathan Barnbrook created (together with Damien Hirst) a timeless masterpiece of book design. If you want to see what is possible in this medium, you want to own this book. It is hauntingly beautiful, filled with amazing interactive pieces bringing you as close to Hirst's thinking and work as printed matter can get you.
What you are about to experience is a superbly intelligent visual introduction ot Hirst's process united with breathtaking depictions of the results.
A tiny note for the "practical book-user": This book is a work of Damien Hirst's. In such a publication one should not be surprised to find "safety guidlines" on how to successfully "deal with one's own life" - by using a gun. Gun owners might think twice before showing this book to their loved ones. Yet that's another story. Or maybe not, from Hirst's point of view? :*)
The Daring Realm of Damien Hirst.......2000-10-27
Damien Hirst is one of the most creative and influential contemporary artists. This is a wonderful book that examines the whole of Damien Hirst's career and all of his beautifully shcoking ideas. This book itself is an amazing work of art. It contains not only many wonderful full color panels, but it has all kinds of extremely interesting interactive pages that mimic some of Hirst's work. I highly suggest this wonderful book that does justice to this incredible artist.

Customer Reviews:
A bit tedious to get through.......2006-11-01
Forever and Always is book two of the Forever Trilogy; the story of Adam and Darci Montgomery. In book one, Forever, Adam hires Darci as an assistant as he investigates his kidnapping when he was a child and the death of his parents. As far as Darci is concerned, she is there to raise money to get her hometown out of debt and thus freeing her from the obligation of having to marry the son of the wealthiest man there.
Darci has always known there was something "weird" about her. She could locate things and people that were lost and sometimes could perceive what would happen in the future. These abilities shamed her and she tried to hide it.
Once her and Adam were together, Darci discovered that her abilities made her special and she could use them to aid Adam in his investigation. Forever climaxes with the ultimate confrontation between Adam, Darci and the powerful witch who murdered Adam's parents. Adam also discovers that he has a sister, named Boadicea, who was kidnapped at birth and is being held captive by the witch.
Darci kills the witch's minions and the witch herself with her abilities and saves the day. Forever closes when Darci and Adam, and Darci's Dad and Boadicea, marry and both give birth to two very gifted little girls.
Forever and Always opens with the news that Adam and Boadicea have disappeared and Darci has been publicly accused of murdering them for the Montgomery money. In the midst of this, Darci's mother sends a renowned actor, named Lincoln Aimes, to Darci for help in locating his missing son.
Darci, at first refuses to help, but then changes her mind when she senses that by helping Lincoln, she'll get closer to solving the mystery of Adam and Boadicea's disappearance.
The rest of the story is really to pave the way for Darci to meet the most powerful human being on earth, psychically of course. His name is Henri and he's a very old man who has only a few months to live. His goal is to test Darci and see if she is deserving of his abilities.
The story, of course, ends in a happy ending and with Darci passing Henri's test with flying colors, but she is no closer to discovering what happened to her husband. That mystery will finally be solved in the third book of the trilogy: Always.
I, uh, was easily pulled into the story in the beginning. It was a bit slow going at first as Darci explains what happens in the first part of the Trilogy and the events that occurred since Adam and Boadicea disappeared. The pace picks up toward the middle of the big but then it begins to lag again, bogged down as it covers Henri's background and his purpose for testing Darci. There are also a lot of subplots that Darci and Lincoln have to wade through to get to their main goal: the recovery of his son and the discovery of the clues that point to what happened to Adam and Boadicea.
This book takes some patience to get through and I highly recommend that you not start on it until you've read the first book. Despite the tedium, Darci did begin to grow on me. I realized what a strong character she is, simple yet complex, fragile yet strong. I only wish the story were better written to support such a great character.
part two of the trilogy.......2006-07-19
is okay.
I love the character of Darci.
But, the book just lacks something.
After finding the love of her life in FOREVER, he is nowhere to be seen in the second book.
I like her relationship with her co-hort this time around, the gorgeous tv star Linc Aimes. She, like everyone else appreciates his beauty. I'm still not quite sure how appropriate that is for a woman whose beloved husband is missing. Aside from that their adventure is fun.
Warning: nothing really is ever resolved in any of the trilogy.
Still, the first two are enjoyable reads. I doubt if I will re-read them again, though.
Good story.......2005-06-11
I think that if you are looking for a typical romance novel you may be disappointed in this novel. It focuses more on the paranormal than the romance. I thought that the story and characters were strong and entertaining. I liked this book more than the first in the trilogy simply because the ending concluded this section of the story. That's all I will comment on the ending...
If you like a good ghost story with a hint of romance, you will probably like this book.
I LIKE DARCY A LITTLE MORE THIS TIME.......2005-06-02
I liked her a little more this time, but still the book wasn't very good, first I don't get what the publisher review had to do with the book, and the book is really sad and it doesn't have and ending, of course Ms. D. wants us to buy the next one, but still, how more tests does she have to pass??
OK But not Great.......2005-03-21
This book was ok. It wasn't as good as Forever but I loved reading about Darci again. Darci was in a funk in this book. Maybe that's why I didn't like it as well as Forever. Why was the book written as it was written with every other chapter first person alternating Link and Darci? Link didn't appeal to me. I missed Adam as much as Darci. I am buying the last book of the triligy because I am curious.
I love Jude Deveraux's books. She has quite an imagination and isn't afraid to use it.

I really liked the series BUT.......2007-05-10
Really it ended in a way that made you think that there was going to be another book. I am very sad to see that this is a last book and that is that which almost makes it not work the read. I love Jude Deveraux's books, I really do but I haven't read a series that ended this way before. I rated it high because over all I did like the series, but as far as I'm concerned it needs to be finished. What happens?
By far the best of the trilogy.......2006-11-01
Always is the concluding story of the Forever Trilogy; the story of Adam and Darci Montgomery.

The second installment, of course, closes with a happy ending and with Darci passing Henri's test with flying colors, but she is no closer to discovering what happened to her husband. That mystery will finally be solved in the third book of the trilogy: Always.
Always continues the trilogy with the introduction of Jack Rose, an undercover FBI agent who is coerced to join forces with Darci to help locate his missing billionaire father. Jack is, at first, very critical, almost violently, of Darci and her abilities, but she eventually wins him over when she helps him get rid of a malevolent spirit who has been clinging to Jack since he was born.
While in the process of locating Jack's father, Darci also has to locate certain magical objects that will help her find Adam and Boadicea. Darci and Jack's adventure take them to the past where they get rid of Jack's unwanted companion and also recover more magical objects.
The book, of course, ends with Darci's ultimate reward, the ability to undo what happened to Adam and Boadicea. As for Jack, he makes up with his father, finds the love of his life and basically lives happily ever after.
I think this is my favorite book in the trilogy. The first two were tedious as the author laid down the groundwork for the final installment but I think it was well worth it. Darci is an enigmatic and memorable character. I can only hope that Ms Deveraux will write more books with Darci as the main character.
I, however, highly recommend that you read the first two books before tackling this one. Otherwise, you'll have a hard time following the storyline.
Very sad.......2006-09-01
I am a big fan of Jude Deveraux, and I have enjoyed every one of her books I have read, including Forever and forever always but was very dissapointed in this novel.
Maybe she will write a forth book of this series.I hope.I really liked Darcy and I love Adam and the fact that is cousin Michael Taggart,"Sweet Liar" another Jude book, is mentioned in this book.Along with some of the characters and plots intoduced in this story. But I was left unsettled by the books end.
what happened????.......2006-07-26
how did it end???what was resolved???...i read this book but did not find out what happened to her husband and to her family...very poorly written....
YIKES, what the heck just happened.......2006-07-19
This final installment of the Trilogy: Forever and Forever and Always was a major disappointment. Both previous novels were fun and fluid reading. With characters you got to know and care about.
And most importantly, you knew what was going on!
This is a disaster of a book. It is simply all over the place and leads to nowhere.
Ms. Deveraux and her publishing house goofed. Their theme song must be "What was I thinking".
If you invested your reading time in the first two, probably like me you will make yourself read to the end of ALWAYS to see what happens. But, when you do get to the end, you still won't know what happens, or if you do, heh, you won't know you do.
And if you found that last sentence confusifying, wait till you read the book.
How many stars signify a feeling of What the heck just happened?

Customer Reviews:
Gab and Jordan....Amazing.......2003-06-30
Another great book from Lori Foster....
I was touched by the tenderness of Gab. After getting the impression that he is just a playboy Lori Foster delivers us a Gab with more depth and sensitivity than expected. This was a tender and fun read.
As for Jordan, you realize he has more demons to snare than the other brothers so its only fitting he requires a more troubled love interest. I found Jordan interesting and a bad boy with a big heart.
Of course, like of of Lori Fosters books emotionally stimulating and lots of hot physical sex. If you liked Once and Again with Sawyer and Morgan you will enjoy Forever and Always with Gab and Jordan.
These guys are amazing.......2003-01-08
Wow! What a wonderful book! You really need to read the first book in the series first. Once and again, that is great also. Gabe and Jordan are 2 of the 4 Buckhorn brothers who are all single and are little by little finding love and getting married. It makes you wish you were the lucky girl, Let me tell you these guys seem to good to be true. Gabe's story is the first half of the book and he is the one who always has girls hanging all over him and he plays it up until one girl comes to interview him for a heroic thing he did and he falls head over heels.. read the book to find out more. Jordan is the more laid back one with the voice that would melt any girls heart, he is a vet who loves animals and is against drinking and driving. He goes to this bar to try and shut it down and ends up falling for the girl who dances there and doesn't start out on the right foot with her.. read to see what happens. you will definatly not want to put the book down once you start.
Ahhh!!, Jordan.......2002-12-11
I love a man with sexy voice!!! Jordan did it for me, plus he was fine and could cook, loved children and animals. I read all of the Buckhorn brothers exciting tales as they made their way to the altar, but my favorites were Morgan's and Jordan's stories. Lori, all I can say, is that you sure know how to keep a woman up at night, I can't put your books down.
Read it once, but not twice........2002-12-03
This book is a set of two stories of the brother's from buckhorn. All the family is cheerful, gets along well with everyone else and the men are all strong and manly.
This book tells the stories of Gabe and Jordan.
Gabe is jack of all trades who performs an act of heroism that he brushes off as just doing what anyone would. Elizabeth is determined to interview him for her paper on heroism. There are instant sparks between the two even as they try to resist.
Jordan is a Vet and is the "calm" brother. He is attracted to a mother who dances at bars to feed her children. He wants to rescue her and she's been burned one too many times.
I found the stories cute, but lacking substance. There could have been so much more character development. Each story deserved a full length novel and instead got the cliff's notes version. I reccomend Mr. Perfect or Open Season if you really want a lori foster book to sink your teeth into.
Excellent.......2002-10-27
I love Lori's books can't go wrong for an entertaining enjoyable read.. contination of her Buckhorn Brothers sequel to Once and Again feature two more brothers...Wonderfully humerous and sexy..

Book Description
When the going gets tough...
In the Irish town of Carrickwell, with its lush, endlessly rolling hills and authentic country tranquility, three women's lives are anything but calm. There's Mel, a compulsively ambitious mother/publicity manager at a high-powered PR firm -- living proof that balancing motherhood and a full-time job is no walk in the park. The hot-headed, indomitable Cleo, just out of college with a degree in hotel management, would like nothing better than to modernize and revive her family's dwindling hotel -- but faces a constant battle with her old-fashioned parents. And finally, there's the stylish, sweet-tempered Daisy, a self-consciously curvy fashion buyer for an upscale clothing boutique, who has been struggling -- and longing -- to have a baby with her absolutely perfect boyfriend. Although unconnected, these three women have one thing in common: they all need a break from their stressful lives.
...these tough gals hit the nearest spa!
So each one sets out for a little R & R at the new Clouds Hill spa, built by an American woman with her own secret turmoil. It is there that Mel, Cleo, and Daisy meet -- their worlds and troubles colliding -- forming an intimate bond that helps them to realize what matters most in life, always and forever.
Customer Reviews:
A little too much Cathy Kelly.......2007-07-12
Always and Forever took me longer to get into than your typical Cathy Kelly book. Each of the characters had her own tragedy of life occurring and needed mothering and helpful advice - in comes Leah the owner of the new local spa. Leah helps Daisy through the inability to be pregnant and the fact that her boyfriend of over ten-year never loved her and left her after he got his new girlfriend pregnant. She gives her motherly advice and strength when she needs it. Leah also gives Mel courage to go back to work after the huge decision to stay home from work with her 2 little girls. She also helps Cleo reconnect with her family after they sell the family hotel out from under her, crushing her dream of maintaining it and raising her children there as well. Leah seems to be a miracle worker while getting herself along each day after the death of her own son.
It's all just a little too cheesy, of course there is a very happy ending, and all the girls end up becoming life long friends. Although it is entertaining and heartwarming.
No plot, not much emotion, no thrills no romance - don't bother.......2007-07-04
I read for many reasons, but mostly for the 3 E's: entertainment, escapism, education. I love a good story, a fresh voice, a fascinating setting. Unfortunately, I didn't find any of that in this book. With each page of excrutiatingly boring description of a working-mother's day, from morning to evening, a day in which nothing really happens except what happens to her every day of her life, I kept thinking something has to happen soon, like a car crash or someone getting bad news, something, but nothing did!!! The characters don't have a fatal flaw, don't charm, they don't misstep, they have no enemies, they all have but one desire that is going unfulfilled, there's no dilemna, no crucial decision, no thrills, no chills. We all want characters that we can identify with, but we don't want to read about doing the dishes! I bought this book because I liked one of the author's previous books, but she really forgets everything any writer should know about fiction in this book. There are no scenes, just details. No beginning, middle and end, no drama. NO STORY.
It made me relax and enjoy.......2007-02-21
I really enjoyed reading this book. At first one of the characters annoyed me, but once I kept reading she became higher on my list. I think that any woman who reads this book will be able to compare themselves to at least one of the characters. At first I was just like one of the characters Mel, but then soon realized I was a little of each one.
This book is a great story of 3 woman who are going through crazy times in their lives and all the obsticles they go through. I really enjoyed how one chapter was about a certain character and once that chapter was over you had to wait until 2 chapters later because the author took turns for each character. That was very smart, made you just not want to put the book down. Don't be fooled by the back of the book saying about 3 woman who go to a spa, that is not till the end and it doesn't make the whole story. The whole book is great at knowing the characters and everything they are going through, not a day at the spa. Read it and you will just feel like you are in another world wanting to help each character.
interesting character driven contemporary fiction .......2006-12-27
In Carrickwell, Ireland three women struggle with the respective directions of their lives. Mel Redmond struggles with guilt feelings as she precariously balances her career at Lorimar with raising her two children. Cleo has just graduated from a hotel management course and wants to prove to her hotelier family that she can do the job as good if not better than they as she offers ideas to save the Willow Hotel, but neither her parents nor her brothers take her seriously. Daisy Farrell yearns for a baby with her long time live-in lover Alex, but fails to conceive so they go to a fertility clinic though he seems very reluctant and has since he became ill several years ago.
The three women find their life map devastated with detours and u-turns as nothing goes right. That is until the opening of the new Clouds Hill Spa by Leah, who is looking to start over with a better balanced lifestyle. Mel, Daisy and Cleo find the spa gives them moments to relax and place perspective on what matters in life and the courage to ALWAYS AND FOREVER seek to achieve what means the most to the individual; of course it is easier to try after a beauty treatment.
This is an interesting character driven contemporary fiction starring three women each suffering from a person crisis that requires change in their lives if they are to achieve any modicum of harmony. The R&R pampering at the spa enables them to unwind and obtain perspective so that their predicament no longer seems like climbing Mount Everest. Cathy Kelly's message is simple that everyone needs a little pampering magic.

Book Description
A desperate need
Sassy Grace Atwood never expected to find her proper self accidentally tumbling into a stranger's bed. If she weren't desperate for a man to lead a wagon train of brides to a woman-starved town out West, she never would have gone near Jackson Blake-former lawman or not. She should send the ruggedly charming Texan packing...only he's perfect for the job. Now if her mind would just stop going blank every time she looked at him, they might get this train to Kansas yet.
A comsuming passion
What's a man to do when a beautiful woman leans over his bed in the middle of the night? Come to think of it, that was the only time Blake's ever seen the straitlaced Miss Atwood the least bit ruffled. He's certain that beneath her buttoned-up appearance lies a passionate woman aching to break free. But though Blake longs to take her in his arms, all he can offer Grace is a life on the run. And when the demons from his past catch up with them, Blake is couaght between the ties that bind and a love that could last...always and forever.

A Beverly Jenkins Fan...Always & Forever.......2007-08-13
Oh, My Gosh...Better and Better...the woman has a gift and I have yet to be disappointed by her historical/romance novels. Once I start reading I can't put it down. Reading this novel I found myself LOL, crying and becoming outraged at the injustice our people had to endure.~~~~~~~Grace had all the characteristic I hope for in a heroine. She was smart, brave, independent and very out-spoken. Her character only improved as the story moved forward. Jackson was also everything a hero should be, handsome, smart, brave, proud and strong, yet very loving. The secondary characters only added more intrigue and interest to this amazing tale and I hope to read more about some of them in future novels.~~~~~~~The instant chemistry between Grace and Jackson was definitely very sensual. Their heated passion only grew HOTTER and more intense as the story progressed, which made for a great read.~~~~~~~Once again, Ms. Jenkins has painted an AMAZINGLY vivid and historically accurate picture of the time period. She has eloquently spun a very romantic love story as well as a much needed and very valuable history lesson. I will Always and Forever be a BIG fan!
You Havent Bought this book yet?.......2007-07-20
This book is hot! Beverly jenkins dosent miss and you will need a fan and hopefully a man when you get to her sex scenes. She is one of the best romance writers ever! Her historicals are fact based because she does her research and puts the books she referenced in the the back! She's the best!
The sexy man in black rules..........2006-06-01
Jackson Blake, the man in black, was sexy, strong, revenge seeking and putty in Grace Atwood's hands. Grace was sassy, strong, independent and the only woman for Jackson. However, it took a while for them to stop fighting their feelings and realize the effect that they had on each other.
"Always and Forever" is classic Beverly Jenkins, historically wonderful and told with passion and breathtaking love scenes. I can't say enough about her books. She is the queen of historical romances. Buy them, enjoy them!!
Jenkins at her BEST.......2006-05-16
This is the first book I read by Beverly Jenkins and I must say I became an INSTANT fan! Ms. Jenkins knows her history and she writes about it in a way that makes the reader yearn to know more. Not only are her books historically sound, the characters leap off the page...I felt like I knew them personally. You can always tell a story is well written when you miss the characters after you have finished reading the book. I have read nearly all of her books (2 more to go), but THIS one is still the front runner...Beverly what would we do without YOU?
FANTASTIC!!!.......2005-02-21
This is one of the best romance books that I have ever had the pleasure to read. Grace had every characteristic that I look for in a heroine. She was smart, brave, independent and she only got as better as the book progressed. Jackson was everything a hero she be; smart, brave, strong and loving.
The chemistry between Grace and Jackson was instantaneous and only kept getting better and better as the story progessed.
Ms. Jenkins painted a vivid and historically accurate picture of
the time period. In history books we never hear about all Black wagon trains heading west or all Black towns. Ms. Jenkins has given us a wonderful love story as well as a valuable history lesson.
The wagon train sub plot was a perfect background for the romanace between Jackson and Grace.
I highly recommend this book.

Great for all ages.......2007-05-09
I bought this book at the school book fair, since I liked the pictures and thought the topic would be handy, should anything unfortunate happen in our family. Later on, we had to put our 16-year-old family dog to sleep. We have two children in the house, who were 11 and 10 years old at the time. I showed them the book, and we all ended up reading it together on the couch. These are kids who were in middle school at the time, and they found a lot of comfort in this book. I couldn't read it without crying by the end, but that's ok. The kids were crying too.
It hits exactly the right note, showing the family's grief and initial feeling that it will never get any better. The author also shows how the family's sadness affects them, and that dropping out of life, so to speak, only makes it worse. When another friend comes over and they talk about the happy times, they begin to feel happy again, without feeling guilty. In the end, they each find a special way to remember Fox and keep his memory alive. It sends the perfect message to anybody who has lost a loved one.
I also recommended this book to my cousin, whose 9-year-old daughter lost a classmate, and she said that it helped them a lot, a speaked a healthy conversation about death.
Aside from the "death" topic, I would recommend that parents buy this book to have in their library, even if their child has not suffered a loss. You never know what will happen, and it is a beautiful story regardless of circumstances.
Beautiful Story for Grieving Families.......2006-05-17
I purchased this book for my children's library because I thought that it would be a good way to explore the loss of a loved one. The illustrations are so vibrant and expressive that even without words they depict the story. I also gave a copy to a family of grown children who found it helpful and compelling. I wish that I had had this book when I lost my Dad as a little girl.
A WONDERFUL story for Children who lose a loved one.......2005-05-11
We checked this book out at the library. My daughters had lost a close friend and out of all the books we checked out, this one was the very best. The reason why is because this book focuses on the people left behind. It is not about where the person who died went, or questions regarding death. It is a book about the grief process of the people who are left behind that love that person. Because the characters in the book are animals...it feels less "real" and allows a child to explore their own feelings with you and relate to this story in a non-threatening way. Most books that we read seemed to either upset them or make them angry and withdraw even more but this was one of the few books that helped them to talk about how they were feeling. I highly recommend this book if you need to use a story to show that grief is normal and that eventually they will be "o.k.". We bought a copy for our family to keep because death is a part of life and I know that we will go through this again.
great for dealing with feelings of sadness.......2004-08-12
This is a simple story using animals to tell the tale of their grief over losing a friend. This book starts with the last time they saw the friend before he died.
They discuss feeling sad when they think of missing their friend. They initially want to stay home all the time and not do anything that reminds them of their friend. They wonder how life will go on without him. They are initially sad thinking about all of the things they will miss.
Another friend gets them to see that they still have memories. Soon they are sharing memories and laughing at silly things their friend used to do. They finally get to the point in their grief that they begin to DO things again & have fun remembering their friend.
Great book for little ones. I bought it for a 4 year old who is losing his mom. I know it will still be appropriate when he is older and may need to read it again.

A Wonderful Collection of Sizzling Love Stories.......2006-01-10
If you are an African American Romance novel lover, this collection is for you. Each story stands on its own, although the first two books have interconnected characters. You will need the whole weekend to read through Bette Ford's well-written, believable and sometimes intense romance tales. Both the men and women are real characters you will want to root for.

Good thing the hero likes to drive.......2002-11-28
Back cover description: A husband for Christmas...When Dr. Oliver Fforde unexpectedly arrived at Amabel's guest house during a winter storm, he made a lasting impression. Amabel didn't expect to see him again, so it was strange how Oliver seemed to reappear every time Amabel was in a spot of bother! Trying to be an independent woman was proving difficult with such a chivalrous and charming man on hand. But Amabel was left wondering, could their loving friendship become a basis for marriage?
Another good story from Ms. Neels. This time all the characters are English. This heroine does have a family, just not a great one (except the Aunt). There is also the dog and cat problem--you know-- no one else wants them, so off the heroine goes and gets into trouble. This hero is not as unapproachable as some of the others Ms. Neels uses, actually he's nice right from the start.
