Book Description
From dorm rooms and first apartments to suburban homes and four-star restaurants, the George Foreman grill is one of America's most popular small kitchen appliances. Women love it because it cooks delicious, healthy family meals in minutes and is super easy to clean. Men, on the other hand, often run from cooking. But grilling? Hey, that's definitely a guy thing.
And everyone knows the master of the indoor grill is George Foreman. This two-time heavyweight champion of the world knows what tastes really good because George Foreman loves to eat. When George gives advice on how to grill the best burger on the planet, well, believe him. He knows.
As a world-class athlete and father of ten, George Foreman is focused on fresh, healthy foods that keep him and his family strong. Between kids, careers, and a heavyweight training schedule, the Foremans are a big, constantly-in-motion family. Getting dinner on the table could be an endurance event, but instead of going ten rounds in the kitchen, George Foreman has perfected fast and easy, and he passes on his strategy in George Foreman's Indoor Grilling Made Easy.
Here are more than 100 recipes that speak to the reason everyone buys the indoor grill in the first place: easy dishes filled with big, bold flavor for healthy food fast. From breakfast foods to snacks, entrées, side dishes, and even desserts made on the grill, this is food to satisfy the young, the not-so-young, and everyone in between. Most recipes are naturally lower in carbohydrates (after all, George is a carnivore of some note), but some have choice carbs to fuel heavy training days.
In addition to the recipes, there are plenty of flavor-enhancing ideas -- marinades, spice rubs, and sauces -- for simple cuts of fish, beef, pork, and chicken. You'll also find insider info on how to make perfect grilled veggies every time. George Foreman's Indoor Grilling Made Easy even includes finger foods for a party and a Thanksgiving dinner made on the grill. Portions feed a family of four but can easily be ownsized for those living on their own (or doubled for Foreman-sized families).
· Includes a nutritional analysis of every dish
· Line drawings throughout

a gift.......2007-05-06
This was a wedding gift.....BUT when I leafed through it I was unimpressed with the recipes! OR lack of!!!
Yes, this book is not for foodies (whatever that means).......2007-01-06
Foodies, I guess, are people who.... like food? Like to cook?
Yea, this cookbook isn't for those people. But, then again, a George Foreman grill is not for those people.
I eat food. I like food. I do have a George Foreman Grill. I don't have kids and don't usually want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
I really like this book.
Great & easy recipes.......2006-06-30
It's George! It gotta be good. This book provides excellent yet simple recipes that you will use over and over! Good hearty fare!
G. Foreman's book, "Indoor Grilling Made Easy".......2006-05-24
The reciepes are great! What I like the most is the chart that estimates cooking time for all types of grilling items.
Great Fun Recipes...But Not Really Healthy.......2005-10-14
The recepes are really nice and creative, but if you're trying to eat healthier--this is a book to skip. Just because a recipe is full of grilled veggies, the "health" benefits lessen when you dump enough olive oil, cheeses, etc on them to increase the fat content to a whopping 25-35 grams per serving--of which a lion's share of these recepes sport.
The rubs and marinades section in the back is good, but if you're watching your weight, and don't like to constantly modify your cooking--grill or otherwise--to keep the fat at bay, this is not the book you want.

Book Description
Friendship, love, and forgiveness . . .
The Maxwells and the Popes have been friends forever. The women were college roommates, their husbands are partners in the same law firm, their kids have grown up next door to each other, and the two families share both vacations and holidays.
Like Wisteria Lane, the "perfect" suburban street of Desperate Housewives, all is beautiful and serene -- until an accident forces these close neighbors to look beneath the surface. And when their idyllic lives are unexpectedly shattered by a moment that can never be erased or forgotten, their faith in one another -- and in themselves -- is put to the supreme test.
In this moving, unforgettable story, Barbara Delinsky exquisitely captures the depth and complexity of the human heart as few writers can.

The Maxwells and the Popes are two families whose lives are interwoven like the threads of a beautiful tapestry. But something occurs that can never be erased or forgotten -- will their friendship be torn apart? Friendship, Love and Forgiveness. Award-winning author Barbara Delinsky creates a spellbinding novel that explores the most powerful emotions within the human heart and soul. The Maxwells and the Popes are two families whose lives are interwoven like the threads of a beautiful, yet ultimately delicate, tapestry: the women were college roommates, their husbands are partners in the same law firm, their kids have grown up next door to each other, and they share both vacations and holidays. But when their idyllic lives are unexpectedly shattered by a moment that can never be erased or forgotten, their faith in each other -- and in themselves -- is put to the supreme test. Their story is one that strikes a chord in all of us, embracing as it does the universal passions that life has to offer...a story only Barbara Delinsky could tell.

Same Indescretion....one Worse.......2007-04-06
I am reading this book and I am enjoying it....but theres a couple of parts that annoy me.....Sam and neighbor Teke have a 2 min encounter...accident to Tekes son happens....Sam tells about indescretion....okay now theres problems...
OK then Annie...Sams wife....has a little indescretion at the school with a younger student teacher named Jason....feeling sad about Sam....she stopped after he touched her all over....she said it was a mistake.....but here she is....but now still giving Sam a hard time... than theres Tekes husband JD....has been fooling around behind her back for a long time...and he's acting all good and holy being very mean to Teke when he was never honest in his relationship to her! I mean....he don't count! WHAT! Annie should have less attitude since now she wronged Sam...she didn't tell him about it..like he told her....I have about 100 pages left...I hope Delinsky has made it better so I won't be annoyed anymore....I love her as a writer....this is the first book I had a annoyance with....this was my first review ever on a book....enjoy or not.......
finally.......2006-07-02
I have to admit I find the reviews of a book just as amazing as the book itself. After finally seeing one reviewer acknowledging the unfair potrayal of some of the characters, I felt compelled to post a review myself, knowing someone else shares my thoughts.
In our therapy dominated world, it has become increasingly easy to dismiss sexual trysts as "human mistakes". However, any bearing of resentment or anger towards betrayal is somehow construed as irrational or inhuman. In other words, Sam and Teke should be forgiven for sleeping with each other, but JD is a jerk for resenting them. I wish the author had given us more insight into his feelings. Here is a proud guy who has just been betrayed by his wife and best friend; is the talk of the town, and his son is lying there, possibly paralyzed for the rest of his life. On top of that, his wife is hanging out with her ex-lover. Instead of giving HIM time to process all this, we hear Sam lecturing him on forgiveness, expecting JD to assume the role of a magnimous angel while Sam sits smugly dismissing his mistakes as a human act. And why should JD be expected to believe that it was a one time meaningless act. Why shouldnt he wonder if this wasnt a prolonged affair, simply because they say so. I felt Sam was the last person to be yelling at JD. The author was totally unfair in the way he was potrayed. I understand this is chick lit, but maybe this is why feminism rings hollow these days.
I know JD had his own affairs, but like Sam himself acknowledged, he wasnt sleeping with his best friend's wife. I hated the way he was potrayed as having "abandoned" Teke. She asked for it. why should he be expected to stick together with her? For the kids? she wasnt thinking of them when she had the affair, so why should JD be expected to do that. Teke came across as totally selfish and irresponsible.
My boyfriend was betrayed by his ex a long time back and the scars ran deep for a very long time. Its only in fiction that one is expected to forget and forgive so quickly, and I am surprised so many reviewers fell for it.
a desperate housewife story.......2006-07-01
I am a little surprised by the glowing reviews this book got. Sam and Teke's lovemaking is based on the weakest excuse in the history of romance. Teke is a typical example of the desperate housewives who infest American suburbs these days: the type that marry well for financial security, basically use the excuse of "homemaking" to essentially sit at home, sponge off on their husband's hard earned income, and then bemoan the lack of passion in their lives when they reach middle age. She came across needy, irresponsible and as the most repugnant character. She was lucky that Mike survived, primarily due to the author's desire to keep her as a sympathetic character and get her together with Grady. I wonder if the reviewers would root for her if the consequences of her thoughtless action had been more severe...if Mike had ended up dying or paralyzed.
As for JD, I am surprised that the reviewers are so harsh on him. He came across as quite sympathetic to me at least, and I for one was cheering him on when he dumped that parasite Teke.
The ending was a typically happy ending which was totally unrealistic. Nobody remains best friends after such an episode.
Most of B. Delinsky's women-related fiction revolves around middle aged bored housewives facing the empty nest syndrome. While she writes very well, I wish her characters had more depth.
Its hard to identify with their angst when they are so shallow...
Delinsky is wonderful/ This one is my favorite of hers.......2006-05-07
Are neighbors good to have or not? You be the judge. This is one book that I passed from friend to friend. We all loved it. You will too. Barbara Delinskys other books are wonderful as well. Another one that's worth reading is Coast Road. Give it a try.
sobering look at friendship.......2006-02-01
Next door neighbors in the Boston suburb Constance on the Rise, the Popes and the Maxwells have been close friends to each other seemingly forever even sharing a summer place in Maine fittingly dubbed "Popewell". Annie Pope and Teke Maxwell were college roommates while their future spouses John David "J.D." Maxwell and Sam Pope have been best buds since childhood and work as full partners at a Boston law firm whose top gun is the Maxwell patriarch John Stewart. Nothing could rip apart the loving friendships between two generations of Popewells.
However, nothing until tragedy occurs. Thirteen years old Michael Maxwell is shocked when he sees Teke and Sam making love. Stunned and feeling betrayed, Michael races outside without looking in front of a pickup truck driven by Teke's former childhood boyfriend Grady Piper. Michael remains in a coma from the accident while J.D. angrily wants to take out his frustration on everyone involved especially Grady. That is until the infidelity surfaces leading the Popewells to war with one another while Michael lingers in a comatose state.
The key that keeps this fine family drama from becoming a melodramatic emoting soap opera is the reactions of the key cast members to the tragedy as each in a restrained way feel as if they caused the accident. Thus the ensemble Popewells and Grady seem genuine while coping poorly with what happened to the youngest. Barbara Delinsky is at her best with this sobering look at friendship.

This cookbook is aimed at helping "stop heart trouble before it starts" in people with diabetes. That translates to a diet low in saturated fat (less than 10 percent of total calories). In addition, people with diabetes have other dietary challenges to manage, such as restricting sugar intake. If you know you need to make changes, but you're not ready to switch from ham to tofu, Diabetic Low-Fat and No-Fat Meals in Minutes presents more than 250 modified recipes that fit the lower-saturated-fat requirements, avoid sugar, don't require major taste changes, and are quick to prepare. Most of these recipes are lower-fat substitutes for familiar, fatty favorites, such as Blender Egg Nog (no fat, made with nonfat milk and egg substitute), Chicken Pot Pie, Cheese Nachos (made with reduced-fat cheese), Low-Fat Pancakes, Bean and Bacon Casserole, Chicken Chow Mein, and even Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies. Each recipe includes preparation and cooking time, and the nutritional breakdown includes calories, fat, protein, carbohydrate, cholesterol, and sodium. Additional sections, such as "Top 10 Ways to Cope with Picky Eaters" and "50 Ways to Do Without Sugar and Fat with Herbs, Spices, and Seasonings" make this cookbook even more useful. Author M.J. Smith is a registered dietician who specializes in working with people with diabetes and has written seven other cookbooks. --Joan Price

Really Tasty!.......2007-07-13
I have tried two recipes from this book and will be trying more soon. What I really love is that these recipes are not too flashy-they don't have a million ingredients and are pretty quick to put together. For a July 4th party, I made the "Kitchen Quarterback Salsa and Bean Dip" and the "Diet Mountain Dew Salad" simultaneously while my six month old was screaming at me. I think that says a LOT about the simplicity/ease of preparation that these recipes entail.
The best part is that some of my guests were the type to gripe about low-fat/diet food and they RAVED about these dishes and asked me for the book info. That says a lot about the taste factor.
I would highly recommend this book for people that want quick diet food that actually TASTES good.
Best "usable" cookbook for the noncooker.......2002-09-29
I bought this cookbook for my mother to use (father is diabetic and had heart bypass surgery). It has so many great recipes and lets you know what to do in order to make it have less sodium, etc. It has red meat recipes (he can't eat that) but we just substitute fish, chicken, or turkey. It uses ingredients she actually had in the kitchen and would use again (not just for one recipe). I made the "No fat fried chicken" (a baked recipe to taste like fried) and my dad said it was the best chicken he has ever had. These recipes will dress up the same few meats so that one doesn't get tired of the same thing and give up on a new way of life. The recipes are so, so, easy. My mother hates to cook and loves this book.
Terrific Tasty & Easy Recipes for the Diabetic.......1998-10-21
A great source of everyday recipes for the diabetic. Recipes are easy to follow, simple to prepare, and surprisingly good. Each recipe includes exchange and nutritional information. I've tried three diabetic cookbooks and I find this is the only one I actually use. The rest of my family even enjoys it.

Amazon.com
George Foreman is a world boxing champ--and a cookbook author. For his Big Book of Grilling, Barbecue, and Rotisserie, the genial endorser of the widely popular Grilling Machine offers 75 recipes for meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, and more--dishes devised by his coauthor, Barbara Witt. "In this cookbook you will travel with me and visit Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America, and finally home to America," says Foreman. That's a lot of travel, but Witt's accessible recipes are full of big, exciting flavor and should become favorites of outdoor and indoor grillers alike.
Beginning with useful information about grilling equipment--the recipes are tailored to work using rotisseries, open-flame, and indoor and outdoor electric grills--the book then dishes up winners like Kingwood Skirt Steak with Grilled Bananas, Barbecued Spicy Lime and Cilantro Chicken, and Ginger Shrimp with Mango Mayonnaise. A chapter on burgers and pizza offers a particularly innovative assortment of those treats, among them the Open-Face Catfish Burger and grilled pizzas like the knockout (how else to put it?) pie topped with charred red and white onions, prosciutto, and black walnuts. Throughout, the book provides useful tips and nutritional breakdowns for the recipes, which take advantage of the microwave and other timesaving preparation techniques. This is another Foreman winner. --Arthur Boehm

home cooking.......2007-01-15
Book was first class- just not for me-not my type of food choices. It is just me at home now and the recipes were not for me- not saying they would not be great- but not for me.
Not what I expected.......2007-01-12
I wanted a basic "how to" not a cookbook of exotic dishes.
I'm loving this rotisserie.......2006-10-28
I ordered this and actually received this on the next day without paying any shipping and handling. That was amazing! It came fully protected, no problems.
We used it that very night. I had a little difficulty in putting the rotisserie spit back when i placed a chicken on it - but after that it worked well..
We also used the skewers for hot dogs and the kids loved it. Tasted like ballpark dogs from a stadium.
Cleans well - i use al. foil in the drip pan - and taking the back shield off is sometimes difficult, as well as cleaning the front glass, but all in all it is definitely worth the money.
Big Book of Grilling, BBQ and Rotisserie Cookbook.......2005-05-31
Just bought a rotisserie and was hoping to find how to use it and good recipes. Only found about 4 or 5. I would've liken to know different types of meat you could cook in it and for how long you cook it for.
Totally Surprised at how great this book is.......2004-03-23
I got this book on a bargain table at Borders, and probably bought it because it was practically the only cookbook I don't already own. I was SHOCKED at how great it is. I expected simply a book of promotional recipes hocking his grill machines and written by staff writers--but then I read the introduction and wow! It never ocurred to me how influential his early travels as a boxer had been on his palate. The combinations of flavorings and grilled fruits are amazing, pulling fully on his travels through Africa and Asia. And honestly, most of the recipes can be made without the use of a grill or rotisserie' an oven, stovetop and/or broiler will do. Good job, George, write me another one!

Contemporary Christian romance.......2006-10-17
Reviewed by Kelli Glesige for Reader Views (9/06)
"Virginia Hearts" is a compilation of three short stories by Tamela Hancock Murray: The Elusive Mr. Perfect (Copyright 2001), More Than Friends (Copyright 2004), and The Thrill of the Hunt (Copyright 2004).
All three of the contemporary romance stories are inspiring and will pull at your heartstrings. The setting for all the stories is scenic Virginia, and it is Ms. Murray's hope that the reader will smell the falling leaves, see the crystal blue skies and feel the warm Virginia sunshine.
Reading "Virginia Hearts" left me feeling uplifted and positive. The stories all have a common thread of an obvious love for children and the knowledge they need tender, firm, and loving guidance by a caring adult. There is also an undeniable love of the Lord present in all three stories. God is working in all the characters' lives; they just do not always see it at times. By the end, we are assured that God is in control.
In "The Elusive Mr. Perfect," we find Joelle scanning the Virginia Christian Singles Personals for a suitable date. Lloyd leaves Joelle holding the bill, Dexter's mother arranges and joins the couple on their date, Wilbert is actually looking for a housekeeper and gardener, and Freedom lives in a commune.
The second story, "More Than Friends," finds Lexie meeting up with an old college boyfriend by the name of Theo, after she has moved back to an area where she previously lived. Lexie now rooms with her old college roommate, Kassia. As much as it feels like "old college days," circumstances have changed for everyone. It is not until tragedy strikes back home that Lexie realizes how much she misses her young daughter, Piper.
And finally, in "The Thrill of the Hunt," we learn Aunt Agnes has recently died and left the young and lovely Enid with a key to give to Agnes' nephew, Reece. The stipulation is that Reece must first read through the entire Bible before Enid is to relinquish the key. Enid and Reece soon learn that Agnes has left a trail of clues for the young couple to decipher in order for Reece to learn of his inheritance. It seems Aunt Agnes was quite a knowledgeable elder, and to the surprise of Enid and Reece, quite the matchmaker too. The antics of four-year old Connie add to the puzzle fun.
I recommend "Virginia Hearts" to all who love to read contemporary Christian romance. This book is great fun to read, for the characters are energetic, fun loving, and seek God's will in their lives. And unless you already live there, you may be lead to plan a visit to beautiful Virginia.

I bought this book for my niece, and she loved it.I thought it was an excellent cooking book for kids. She really enjoyed cooking with this book!
Cooking With Mickey & Friends.......2000-04-27
This is a great book for kids and moms (or dads). It has simple, easy to follow recipes and little girls especially love the Disney character illustrations. Just be prepared when your child gets this book; they will want to start cooking right away. The only change I would like to see is for it to be spiral bound or note-book style so that it will lay flat.

Celebrity cookbook for real people.......2005-07-21
Most cookbooks I buy end up on a dusty shelf mainly because I cannot spend time on elaborate recipes during my busy day. I was given this book at my bridal shower over 5 years ago, and I've been using it religiously since then. I usually cook healthy things and am always looking for simple recipes and things that taste good even though they are healthy. And this book has it all.
She writes a candid story about her weight battles, and then the delicious recipes follow. She has collected them over time with the help of her family, coworkers, guests on GMA, favorite restaurants, etc. They are segregated into the usual cookbook sections with the addition of some new ones, like dishes that kids love. My favorite recipes would have to be the spicy tomato soup and Academy Award Winning chiliburgers. This was a great gift that definitely is not collecting dust.
Excellent recipes!.......1999-12-10
The recipes are fast, easy, and taste great! My husband's favorite is probably the Curried Chicken Salad with Mango - it's a miracle that I can get him to eat a salad for dinner. Now my mom wants it for Christmas.
Its a sticky page book!.......1996-11-13
Joan makes a comment in the book that she hopes it becomes the readers stickypage book. The one you go back to time after time and the pages become sticky from use. It has for me. I was very apprehensive about purchasing a "celebrity" cookbook..looked at it and thumbed the pages no less than six times. But its worth the purchase price for the recipes alone. You don't have to read about Joan if you don't want to. The recipes are fantastic and everyone I have served to guests has elicited raves and requests for copies of the recipes
