Naughty AND Nice!.......2007-09-02
I'm not always crazy about EJD's writing style, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I don't know how he does it, but he is good at writing from a woman's perspective.
I liked the book.......2007-08-03
When I read a synopsis of the book, I didn't think I was going to like, but I purchased it anyways because I tend to like Eric J. Dickey's work. After reading the first two or so chapters of the book, I was hooked. It is so surprising how Dickey can capture the reality of what we experience as females dealing with the different dramas of women. If you love the movie "Waiting to Exhale" you will like this book. I pictured that movie while reading this book! As always, kudos to Eric Jerome Dickey!
A Good Read.......2007-03-06
Naughty or Nice is a good read. Not great, but good.
Dickey tells a decent story about 3 sisters who each have interesting elements going on in their individual lives. Out of the 3, my favorite was Tommi who I think should have been the main character instead of Livvy. Reason being, Tommi had major issues with domestic violence and love that she struggled with and ultimately overcame, but it felt like the author kinda scanned over them when there were more layers to peel.
Dickey Could've Done Better .......2007-03-02
This book is a decent read but it was predictable at times and I like the suspense in a novel, and this book was lacking. It wasn't a complete disappointment but i wouldn't recommend it either. He has better selections out there.
Interesting, not remarkable. .......2006-12-20
I rarely find EJD's characters very empathetic. I thought his "Holiday Tale" might resonate more with me, remind me of family ties and love and sisterhood. But I didn't understand a single thing about these women, and I would not recommend this book to my sister. The book is basically a bunch of drama. If sex, lies, and betrayals aren't your thing, you won't like the book.

Customer Reviews:
This is a cute book! with spells that work.......2006-12-09
Note**** You have to get your own ingredients they don't come with the book. This book is small, cute and has simple spells that really do work. You can easily buy any of the indredients at your local grocery store or just look in your kitchen cabinet. They are fun to do and the one that I did try Landed me a job. Good Luck have fun I hope All your fun spells come true (with harm to none)
Not too Bad . . . Not too Good.......2006-03-31
First of all, this book is not about black magic. So any one who wants to kill someone, don't check this one out. The spells are more about female empowerment and getting even with people over petty little things such as road rage and "Oh, you cheated on me!" I mean, being cheated on isn't little, but the spells in this book aren't serious enough for that type of revenge.
This book was actually a little disappointing because in truth none of the spells are really "naughty." It's sort of like a good girl's way of attempting to get even with someone and then coming off really merciful and nice anyway. In fact, I honestly haven't found any of the spells within this book useful. Other people's published grimoires have become so useless to me that I write my own spells now.
Look out for my own published grimoire soon!

Not seriously for the Wiccan tradition BUT...........2006-01-21
I see these types of books as a little similar to the hit TV series " Charmed ". That is : a lot of fun and cutesy, but not really based on anything to do with the Wiccan tradition.
The book is a lot of fun, very cute, and with some very basic ideas, but kind of teenage in it's style. Not much use if you have been studying the Wiccan tradition at all, but light dribbly entertainment. Sort of " bachelorette night " type standard.
sweet little book.......2005-09-12
Quite simple and easy spells, some of which I personally wouldnt do (you're the one I want) cuz it messes with other people's free will, but other than that I am pleasantly surprised with both content and presentation.
Cute - For Witches, not Wiccans.......2005-08-05
I saw this book at Barnes & Nobles and thought it was funny. I like little books even if they aren't very practical. I am amused by the "don't buy this" comments from some reviewers. First of and foremost - all Witches are NOT wiccan. Witchcraft and wicca are NOT the same thing. Life is not all love and light and positive. Sometimes it's painful, seething anger, and darkness. When you are reeling from a recent breakup or other emotional trauma, the IDEA of turning the ex into a toad is enough to put a smile on your face and put you back in the light. This is humor people - try some!

Customer Reviews:
Don't buy it for the story by Sherrilyn Kenyon.......2004-10-06
If you love the Dark-Hunter series, don't expect it here. Sherrilyn turned out a blah story that could have been churned out by anyone else. Her pen name was used just to get you to buy the book. The other stories aren't bad, probably since I had no expectations about their writing styles.
Love the connection reads in romance!.......2004-03-25
I really enjoy romance novels where the two main characters make a connection that sparkles! And take my word for it the taste of forbidden fruit is always delicious!
3 out of 4.......2003-03-20
Santa, Baby by Patricia Ryan
I confess this plot did not interest me, therefore I skipped over it after reading the first chapter, hopefully Iýll get around to reading it in the future.
Love Bytes by Sherrilyn Kenyon*****
A must read! Tomboyish Samantha Parker has had the hots for her boss, Adrian Cole for over a year, what she does not know/believe is that he has felt the same way. Well, it all hit the fan when Sam gives him a kiss of comfort after witnessing an argument he has with his sister, Heather. Will he be her knight in shining armor or will he ignore the attraction in order to keep him job? Another hot contemporary romance by Ms. Kenyon, it will keep you captivated until the end.
Naughty Under the Mistletoe by Carly Phillips*****
Toni is attracted to her boss but has kept her hands to herself. Well now that she has earned a promotion and will no longer be working with Stephan Corbin, she decides to celebrate and bring in the New Year getting naughty with him at the company Christmas party. She had no idea that she really was not attracted to Stephan until after she mistakenly locked lips with his twin, Max in a very naughty kiss. Completely embarrassed, Toni makes a beeline for the Christmas tree and throws herself into being Santaýs elf. Max immediately hunts down his twin to stake his claimý on Toni.
Even though this plot is the common mistaken identity of a twin, Ms. Phillips does a brilliant job with it. This is a fast paced, hot romance that will make you want to run out and get you some mistletoe.
A Christmas Charade by Kathryn Smith*****
Mrs. Vail aka Elizabeth is a spy for England on a mission to rescue a spy named Maxwell aka Garrett, Viscount Praed currently locked in a French prison. The couple is instantly attracted to one another and donýt deny the lust they feel but agreeably act on it during their return trip on her boat. Mr. Maxwell is not married and doubts that there is a woman still awaiting his return from the war and Mrs. Vail husband died fighting for his first love-his country. Once the boat is docked, Maxwell is so enthralled by her that he invites her met him at the Pultney Hotel for dinner the following night. Elizabeth arrives at the hotel right behind Garrett as heýs getting out of his expensive carriage-knew she was out of her league and after confirming his status quickly flees. After awaiting her for hours and an extensive search for her at the Home Office, Garrett admits defeat and returns to the war. Knowing she can not have him, Elizabeth gives up the spy business, sells her boat, goes to Devonshire and purchases a cottage in the tiny village near to coast of Exeter thinking it would not be close to Garrettýs home town. She has befriended Regina the wife of an earl that shuns societyýs ranks and accepts her invitation to spend Christmas with Reginaýs family. Garrett, Reginaýs recently betrothed brother is also en-route. What a surprise for them to unexpectedly meet again 8 months later.
Anticipation will keep you turning the pages of this hot historical romance.
Uplifting.......2002-08-12
This collection of romantic short stories is a good pick-me-up for a bad or rainy days. All the stories are independent from one another. The only thing that links them all together is a Christmas theme.
The best story out of the four is Sherrilyn Kenyon's LOVE BYTES. It is story of two co-workers who are attracted to each other but their own personal insecurities keep them apart. Adrian is Samantha's supervisor and office relationships are discouraged. It is not until one of them is down and the other tries to cheer him up that their love blossoms. The story is nice and sweet even though there are some loose ends by the end of the story. This collection of novellas is fine as an escape after a bad or rough day but that's about it. It is not Masterpiece Theater
Talented ensemble in this sexy, consistent anthology.......2002-03-15
NAUGHTY OR NICE comes as a timely X'mas read with its sensual overtone and provocative romance to warm up the freezing season. Patricia Ryan starts the heat with Santa, Baby where a private investigator Jack O' Leary is baited with a tantalizing sum of money by a rich man's wife to seduce the "home-wrecker". His plan gets complicated when Katherine isn't who she seems - but charms him off with her philanthropic and generous soul. Budding writer Sherrilyn Kenyon intensifies the sensuality with a romance with co-workers in a computer firm. Sam decides to take a gamble with an office romance and transform Adrian the geek to a devastatingly handsome stud and let her enter into his heart. Next comes the fabulous Carly Phillips who weaves love when rigid lawyer Toni loosens up on a seduction of her boss and kisses Max, his twin unwittingly under the mistletoe. Kathryn Smith brings readers back to the historical platform with a story of a widow who rescues a viscount on a spying mission then later fall in love.
All the 4 stories are of quality and brims with enough mischief to delight readers into the festive mood of love. Its languid sensuality and delicious read is however the feature that distinguishes it from the other anthologies. Rarely has a romance anthology succeed in equating light romance with sex, but with the talented ensemble it proves that a miracle can manifest itself.

Good sequel.......2006-11-25
In this second book displaying the lives of the Farrel sisters we learn about Xandra and Beau. Xandra, the owner and head designer for Wild Woman, Inc., a leading manufacturer of erotic toys and sexual enhancement products for woman, tries to seduce Beau Hollister.
Beau owns the home renovation company "Hire a Hunk", which advertised its hot employees, but years have passed since that was true and by now his workers are aging and long lost their six-packs so Beau is in desperate need of a new image for his company.
Beau takes on the job to renovate Xandra's house in the hope that it'll allow him to win some sort of architectural price which will eventually enable him the change his company image to H&H construction. From the beginning on Xandra tries hard to seduce him as she believes she has to test this new female condom to make sure it works just before an important sex conference.
It is a lot of fun reading about Beau trying hard to escape Xandra's different ways of seduction. In the end he finally gives in and of course they and up being together.
Even Mr, Five Minutes can't redeem this one.......2006-10-31
Youngest Farrel sibling Xandra is the daughter who most closely follows her mother's Holy Commitment Trinity. The owner of a boutique manufacturer of erotic merchandise geared toward women has just been dumped by Mark, her partner of eight years. What's a woman to do? Design an accoutrement guaranteed to give a woman the ultimate orgasm, of course. Now if she could just find someone to test the product on... like perhaps the man responsible for the worst five sexual minutes of her life, Beau Hollister.
Beau is the owner of a construction company that is experiencing growing pains. Aptly titled "Hire a Hunk," the guys are getting older and some are getting rounder. He wants to break out of hunk territory and concentrate on more serious home restorations, and what better place to start than Xandra Farrel's dilapidated Victorian. Beau is still smarting from the humiliation of their first coupling in high school and when he overhears Xandra's business partner asking if she's tested the new product on "Mr. Five Minutes," Beau decides he won't be her test dummy. Neither counts on unresolved feelings coming back to the surface. Could Xandra be the second daughter to reject Mama Jacqueline's womanist doctrine?
The second in the Farrel sister trilogy, Xandra's is the hardest story to enjoy, and not just because of her incessant whining. It takes a pretty long time for the action to start and by the time it does, I found myself wishing I was reading something else. Compared to the other two in the series, this one is just... boring.
Super hot and funny!.......2005-07-28
I jsut finished this book, but I didn't want it to end. It was so great. Kimberly Raye is my favorite romance writer. I hope she writes more Nascar books! I love all the Farrel sisters and their mom. Don't miss this book, or the others KISS ME ONCE, KISS ME TWICE and SWEET AS SUGAR, HOT AS SPICE. They're funny and hot!
Overall A Fun Story!.......2005-01-13
Ms. Raye's latest offering is overall a fun story that will offer the reader not an unusual storyline. The characters are just as colorful but difficult to feel overly connected to.
Without a doubt Ms. Raye has a very good sense of humor and she exericises it in her latest book. Since I have not had the pleasure to read the previous title in this series I was able to come to this read with an open mind. I did feel though that the author had a hard time determining who she wanted her main character to be. Xandra was at turns both amusing and annoying. In any event the main characters Xandra and Beau just didn't speak to me as a reader and as a result I didn't feel invested in their growing relationship. This is the reason for the three star rating.
Overall this was a fun story if you can discount not being able to feel invested in the characters. Ms. Raye is an author I will read again but I'm not sure if I will continue on with this series.

Not my favorite book..........2004-12-16
I picked this up at the store last week. I expected a Christmas romance because of the title (I was in a hurry and only skimmed the back!), but it obviously wasn't.
The story line was pretty good, but I just couldn't get into the characters. I didn't care for the back-and-forth personality of the heroine. She wasn't likeable to me at all.
This was my first book by Raye, and I'm not sure I'll try again. I might pick up another after reading the reviews.

Customer Reviews:
great book.......2007-01-01
my fiance finished this book in one sitting and it took me two sittings. This book is a must have for anyone considering a trip to hedonism 2 (or three). and for those who aren't considering the trip it is still very well written and entertaining. over all well worth the purchase price.
Go Chris Santilli.......2006-09-20
Fortunately, I am lucky enough to have Chris as my ENGLISH professor at Elmhurst College this semester!! The book is a must for traveling to Jamaica's famed resort. Chris is the best.
Get for newbies.......2006-08-20
I went to Hedo for the first time this year and was glad to learn more about the resort before I arrived. highly recommended!
what a boring book!.......2006-05-14
We didn't finish the book because we found it completely unerotic and asexual. The author tells you for instance to bring safety pins to hold your toga in place and to bring toenail polish because the sand on the beach will wear it off. Wow!!! The stories told are all childish fun, but there's not a single one titillating. Puritan lack of sexuality. Boring.
A fun read!.......2003-12-01
I might never get the opportunity to go to Hedo, but I'm certainly prepared if I ever do! This book is just packed with tips and tricks of preparing for your trip. It's also full of crucial information regarding the not-so-well-known etiquette of getting wild and crazy with a bunch of like-minded folks. And the stories are just hysterical. So, even if a trip to Hedo isn't in your future, you can have a great time just reading Chris' book.
Book Description
'Tis the season of merriment and joy - but the prospect of having a guardian imposed on her leaves Lady Francine Fitz Hugh feeling distinctly un-merry. She'll just have to drive the crotchety old man away! Unfortunately, Lucien Kendall turns out to be tall, dark, and sinfully attractive. The heat in his eyes when he looks at her tells Fancy that he's not leaving anytime soon . . . and worse, she doesn't really want him to.
As his ward, Fancy is off-limits to Lucien - but her impudent charm, fierce loyalty, and lithe curves tempt him unbearably. He can't help but imagine teaching her the wicked ways of passion . . . and how her innocence might soothe his torment. When his dark past is inevitably revealed, though, the truth might destroy them both. In the season of love and goodwill, does he dare hope for a miracle?
Customer Reviews:
I do seem to love tortured heroes!.......2006-02-21
Lucien was so tortured, he might rank as one of the most - with his addiction to opium and all of the secrets and mystery surrounding his family. But I like Fancy would have been completely drawn to him. There was a vulnerability with Lucien that made him sympathetic. He tried very hard to do the right thing. It was not that he lived his life hurting others it was more that he continued to fall short, not being able to protect and save those he loved. And for that he kept sinking into the world of drugs. Very very sad! If he had not met Fancy under different circumstances - thinking her a lower class person, not a Lady - he never would have been drawn to Fancy the way he was. Fancy in turn saw the more real Lucien because he believed he could open up a little. And of course she was able to see his sexual charm which he never would have shown to Lady Francine! This was a powerful and emotional read. Far better I think than the others in this series - but they all are good. Intesting thought that these men, the Pleasure Seekers are all so tortured and have such horrible things to overcome! I loved this book, and again I rate very few books 5's but this is almost a 5 - maybe a little more depth to the ending would have given it a full 5!
Opium, Lies and Murder.......2006-02-20
The base of the story is that Lady Francine's (Fancy) lies to her quardian that she is not the Lady Francine but a servant. Lucien falls for the 'servant' and then is very angry when he finds out the truth. The depth of the story deals with Lucien demons and how Fancy help him -- in so many ways. Melanie George is becoming one of my favorite writers. Check out M. George's 'Handsome Devil' as well.
Very enjoyable romance.......2005-04-12
Ms. George is a good writer. It's that simple. Lucien is a terrific, tortured hero. Fancy is headstrong and determined, but vulnerable. They make a terrific pair. The story maintains its tension and the reader's interest throughout, and meanwhile does a superb job of setting up the next book, making the reader pine for its release. George also writes very hot love scenes.
My only concern is that I didn't always buy into the angst. Fancy's withdrawal from Lucien when she found out how her brother died seemed extreme after what she already knew, not so much that it happened, but that it took so long for her to forgive (under the circumstances). Lucien's actions sometimes seemed to contradict his beliefs; worse, he continued with his revenge for no reason that to continue. But these minor qualms and only drop my rating a a few tenths of a star.
All in all, a great read and a definite keeper. Somewhere around 4.4-4.5 stars.
Ms. George does it again!.......2005-03-02
I really didn't think a book could top THE PLEASURE SEEKERS, Ms. George's previous book in this series, but she managed to do just that with NAUGHTY OR NICE. Lucien was one of the most tortured and yet thoroughly endearing characters I've had the good fortune to read about in a long time. This book delves into areas I never suspected an historical would, but will clarity and no overdose of pity on the part of any characters. Bravo, Ms. George! I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Not so naughty, nor nice.......2005-03-01
Highly anticipating this book after adoring "The Pleasure Seekers", I expected the rousing, emotional read George provided with her previous release. Unfortunately, this book did not live up to its predecessor. Naughty or Nice uses the most over used plot device in historical romance: the feisty ward and the jaded guardian, and does nothing to change the cliched-ness of the hackneyed plot device.Fancy and Lucian are cliched from the beginning of the book and by the end, are just plain carictures of themselves. The reasons for Fancy's disguise are inane and silly and Lucian was nearly over the border of cliched embittered rake. But the biggest wallop I had to swallow was the book's lack of historical wallpaper. TPS was obviously set in the Victorian era, but NoN was all over the place. If you've never read George's historicals, this isn't the book to start. Try The Pleasure Seekers, a compelling and sexy read. I have hopes that George's future work can be as touching as TPS.

Great.... if you do not have kids (or if you DO have an endless supply of babysitters), and lots of money........2007-01-16
While in theory, these are great coupons, but if you don't have a lot of money, or if you have a lot of kids, then these may not be the best coupons to get. I made some instead and just kind of laughed at these ones. I mean, if you have your own private mountain, a beach, and/or a pile of money, these ARE pretty good, but if you don't, save your money and make your own coupons.
No different than any other thing out on the market.......2007-01-10
I was hoping to get something really romantic and be able to use them with my husband. I gave him these for Valentines day on year and when we read them we were really disappointed. They are actually not even in comparability to the one you would buy at Spencer in the mall. I do not recommend this product. If you are out for a Free massage or backrub coupon book though this is just for you!!

Pick up both Naughty but Nice & Naturally Naughtly and enjoy !.......2007-05-21
Naughty but Nice by Jill Shalvis is excellent afternoon read. Cassie comes back to her hometown to get away from her stalker and face her past. She runs into Sheriff Taggart and they steam up the pages. Check out Naturally Naughtly - Cassie cousin's story....
engaging contemporary romance.......2002-11-09
Being the daughter of the Pleasantville slut, everyone assumes Cassie Tremaine Montgomery is a chip off the old block actively going down to whoever wants it. It is not surprising that her prom night date disrespects her, seeking sex that Cassie rejects. She needs help to control him, but even Sheriff Richard Taggart tries to score with the seventeen-year-old.
Over the next decade, Cassie becomes an internationally famous model. She returns to the unpleasant memories of Pleasantville to flaunt hr success at those who mistreated her and to hide from a stalker. Sheriff Sean Taggart, son of the pig who accosted her on prom night, stops Cassie on a driving violation when she first speeds into town. He finds he desires Cassie, and senses a vulnerability and hurt beneath her disagreeable armor. Cassie opens a shop filled with sexual toys as a stub your nose venture at all those whom rejected her as trailer trash, making her even less ideal to become Sean's spouse. So why does he only dream of wakening up to breakfast in bed with Cassie?
NAUGHTY BUT NICE is an engaging contemporary romance that provides the audience with a wonderful heroine struggling with more demons than Dante could have ever described. Sean is a wonderful law enforcement official struggling with the conflicting desires of his personal life. An unnecessary stalking subplot adds suspense, but this tale belongs to the sexual tension between the lead protagonists that is so palpable in and out of her shop that it carries the novel without extra help. Readers will also want to read the companion novel, Naturally Naughty, starring Cassie's cousin.
Harriet Klausner
Written with the grace of a poet -- Very highly recommended.......2002-11-07
The small town of Pleasantville, Ohio judges the Tremaine family harshly as bastards and tramps -- deservedly so for every Tremaine except Cassie Tremaine Montgomery. So the boulder on Cassie's shoulder is certainly understandable. After all, she has had it proven, from high school forward, that all men can be turned to slaves by their penises. Ten years after her departure, Cassie returns to Pleasantville to settle old scores while tending to business.
Sheriff Sean Taggart does not hesitate to issue two tickets in two days to the famous lingerie model. Cassie immediately dismisses the sexy cop; after all, a cop uniform and sheriff's badge could never interest her. Tag likewise does not believe he could fall for this tempting goddess. He believes that he is done with trouble and high maintenance. But then the taste of her reminds him of forbidden passion, and the "promise of head-banging, toe-curling sex," and Tag surely finds out how much he does want this anti-authority woman.
Jill Shalvis displays the soul of a poet with her deft pen, creating a powerful atmosphere in only two sentences: "Pleasantville had a scent she'd never forgotten. It smelled like broken dreams and fear." Such description makes the reader incredibly sympathetic and tolerant of Cassie, despite her bad attitude and terrible suspicion. As she learns the truth behind a few of the town citizens, such as the librarian who always lurked nearby when she was teen, Cassie softens her hard disposition, learning to look beneath surfaces. Furthermore, Cassie's diary from high school provides poignant insight into this wounded character, and her driving need to succeed. Tag's powerful, sexy presence is just the hero this damaged woman needs, and the substance of every woman's fantasy. An endearing, sensual treat, NAUGHTY BUT NICE comes very highly recommended.
