Very Soothing Voice and Music.......2007-06-11

I would have to disagree with Karen K who said the voice and music were irratating. I found the narrators' voice to be extremely soothing and the music to be beneficial and relaxing. In fact, for all the hypnosis tapes I've ever used, this is by far the most relaxing. I'm able to go into an extremely deep trance and always come out with the suggestion at the end (that's how I know I didn't just fall asleep). I only gave it 4 stars so far, but will update it in a couple of weeks when I see how well it works. I've been using it twice a day for two days, today is the third, and haven't seen any changes in my appetite or eating yet. It says to use it for 21 days. I don't know if that means you'll only see significant results after 21 days, or what, but I'll keep this review updated to let you know if I've lost any weight. If not, then at least I have had some incredibly relaxing sessions while I'm listening to the tape.

Day Five: I found when I went to the market I chose only healthy foods and stayed away from the junk food without even thinking about it. I checked the fat content on all food even if it said "light" or "low fat." When I saw chocolate and thought I'd like some it was immediately followed up with the thought that I didn't want to buy it. The hardest part is getting out of the store without the junk in the cart. At home, I've noticed I have not wanted to eat between meals.

After having so much success with Trevor's cd "Your Power Within" I had to try "Relax Your Way to Thin." I've lost 17 pounds so far and it is fantastic! I've never wanted to say I'm on a "diet" and I didn't really want to change my eating habits. But, after listening to the cd, my whole attitude about food and healty eating habits started changing. It made me realize that I wasn't denying myself anything by eating healthier, I was actually giving myself more. The weight started coming off, I'm feeling great and I'm sleeping soundly. Awesome CD, I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to loose weight.

This didnt work for me. Maybe because everytime I turned it on I fell asleep. Good way to fall asleep if you are having trouble. Bad way to lose weight.

I had gone to a Hypnotherapist before to lose weight and did not have much luck. However, I decided to try Trevor's method...and it works!! My eating habits changed dramatically after only listening to the cd twice. It is the most relaxing experience I have ever had. This cd allows you to fall asleep, so I listen to it while I am going to bed. It says that even if you do fall asleep your sibconcious will receive the messages that Trevor sends, without a doubt, it does! I am really amazed by this cd! I am getting ready to order his cd's for exercise and to quit smoking.

This is an amazing CD with incredible results! I have always had weight problems, tried all the fad diets and always gained the weight back. Trevor has a soothing, reassuring and relaxing voice that has helped me to really start losing the weight. I have never looked or felt better, and I'm keeping the pounds off. OMG...this book was the most boring book i've ever read. Dang! Let That Be The Reason was alright, but this book was just whack. I'm not even gonna finish it cuz all the other reviews agree. Usually, I'm a pretty fast reader; but it has taken me two weeks to get through this book. It is truly boring. The writers style is aweful. I would not recommemd that anyone purchase this book. Save your money!

Never imagined this.......2005-10-14

Let That Be The Reason was a much better and had me anticipating the sequel. Things happened to slow in the book and I found myself scanning the pages in order to get through it. HOpefully the next book will be much better. The author does have skill so I will continue to read her books. Although I might try to borrow the next one instead of buying it!!

An unusual perspective.......2007-03-31

I found Julia Baird's book on her half-brother, John Lennon, well-written and very enjoyable. I've read dozens of books on John and the Beatles, and hers provided a unique perspective which definitely humanized this "icon" in a way few others have. These days it is hard to find anything but the highly-sanitized, Yoko-centric version of John, but this look into his childhood, adolescence and later years has a ring of truth to it. He lived more than half of his life before Yoko, and this book reminds us of that.

This is one of the best written, most comprehensive and accurate children's books about Alaska that I have found. The illustrations are well drawn and clever. This book holds the interest of young children and I would recommend it as a great addition to any young child's library.

I was given this book by my aunt who moved to Point Barrow, Alaska to be a teacher there. She gave me this book to teach me about where she was to be living. This book taught me a lot in a very educational way. I highly recommend it, The pictures are great too!!

This book focuses on the people, climate, history, food and culture of the Andes mountains, particularly Peru and Bolivia. It is not a "quick" book to read, as it goes quite in-depth for a childrens book. I thought the long paragraphs and depth of information would be too much for my four year old, but I was wrong. She is fascinated with the book and the pictures and loves to have it read over and over again, and I have learned along with my daughter. I look forward to reading others in this series with my kids!

My 6 year old daughter and I were enchanted. After the first reading, she started carrying this book around with her, looking for favorite pages, like the one with the yummy-looking recipe for Fairy Bars. Charming illustrations inspire a feeling of glitter and fairy dust on every page. It begins with a brief statement that fairies are made out of the imagination. The rest of the book describes fairies in a very matter-of-fact way, complete with definitions of all the types of fairies (pixies, elves, banshees, leprechauns, etc.), a map of the enchanted forest, one spell/potion each for good luck and for mischief, directions for practicing wand waving and flying, brief descriptions of famous fairies (Tinkerbell and Titania, Oberon, and Puck from a Midsummer Night's Dream), and suggestions for making fairy dust, a crown, and a wand. I especially like the emphasis on diversity among fairies (in terms of size, shape, color, and personality). What is valued most is the fairies' cleverness and magical abilities. Simply lovely.
