Book Description

School Library Journal called Stacey Schuett's stunning authorial debut "a book that is perfect for sparking an interest in geography, emphasizing the amazing concept that at the same moment we are getting ready to sleep, other people are starting a new day." And in a starred review, Publishers Weekly added, "Schuett proves as nimble with words as with a paintbrush."  It's a good-night wish that circles the globe.

4 out of 5 stars A World Tour.......2007-03-21

My son enjoyed this book a great deal when he was in Kindergarden and First Grade. It managed to teach and link at least three distinct subject areas; science, geography and culture.

There are definately more female than male children presented in the narative and drawings, but my very pragmatic little boy told me "that is just a phase our civilization is going through and not to worry about it."

This book also has a practical benefit that makes it good evening reading; both your blood pressure and your child's blood pressure will likely return to normal levels because of the way the book is structured to end with the child going to sleep. I think this is one of the best bedtime "reads" out there for young children.

5 out of 5 stars an excellent look at time and space.......2005-11-02

I knew this book was about time zones from reading the reviews. But I wasn't prepared for how rich and well-thought out the text was. Schuett is a long time illustrator writing her first book and she has done a really remarkable job. I feel as if she composed the text and pictures simultaneously (which, no doubt, she did). They blend perfectly. The book contains a map of the world with its timezones, as well as some background for parents briefly describing the history of time. But the most incredible thing about this book is the maps. Each illustration, which shows people in the world moving about their day, is painted on top of a background which is an actual map of where they are. Including names of countries, cities, rivers, and so on. This special touch takes this book to a whole new level. For one thing, how many children look at a globe, with its colors and grid, and strange markings and really realize what it means? That the map represents another town, like your own in some ways, with people who do what you do (read bedtime stories, head out for a day of work, write a note for a friend and hide it in a secret spot).

Use this book to introduce time zones, move on to a discussion of maps and globes, and finish with linear measurement. Use the city names on each page to locate exactly where these map exerpts were taken from and pin a piece of string onto your globe from your house to that spot. See how far away these families are from your house. And if they're on the other side of the globe -- literally -- that will make it all the easier to understand how, when the sun is shining here, it must be dark there! This is a MUST OWN for homeschooling or any family who has elementary school children.

5 out of 5 stars Have you ever wondered what people in Alaska are doing NOW?.......1998-08-26

Have you ever wondered what it is like, right now, on the other side of the World? What people in different countries are doing, right now? With this book you can get a glimps of Kenya in velvety darkness, day break in India, Australia in late afternoon shade........and on around the globe. Also learn about how and why daylight savings time came about, and the reason for the Internation Date line........and why it's crooked!

5 out of 5 stars This book is wonderful!.......1998-08-04

This book is a wonderful, colorful book that is very well written and is a great plot line. It follows the activities of various people around the world at the same moment in time - explaining about time zones. It starts with a baker in London and ends with a child going to sleep in Boston. Each page/location has lovely illustrations, including an overlay of a map of that city. It makes a lovely gift, especially for children who have contact with other countries (or parents who want to expose their kids to other cultures and countries). I've bought several copies for friends and family!

5 out of 5 stars a lovely and important book.......1998-08-01

Schuett is able to gently explain the concept of time zones using beautiful, soft language and lovely illustrations that mix paintings with maps of the world. Her reader's note is for a more advanced reader, but the book itself reads like a lullaby. A perfect bedtime read that will, no doubt, provoke a multitude of questions about our world and other cultures. Highly recommended.

Book Description

Like What Dreams May Come, which inspired the upcoming movie starring Robin Williams, Somewhere in Time is the powerful story of a love that transcends time and space, written by one of the Grand Masters of modern fantasy.Matheson's classic novel tells the moving, romantic story of a modern man whose love for a woman he has never met draws him back in time to a luxury hotel in San Diego in 1896, where he finds his soul mate in the form of a celebrated actress of the previous century. Somewhere in Time won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel, and the 1979 movie version, starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, remains a cult classic whose fans continue to hold yearly conventions to this day.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Moving Tale of Love & Obsession.......2007-07-05

The novel has become a classic tale of romantic and obsessive love, notions of fate in our lives and the possibility of time travel.

More known for the 1980 film adaptation staring Christopher Reeve as the protagonist, Richard Collier, Jane Seymour as Elise McKenna and an excellent performance by Christopher Plummer as her aggressive manager, author Richard Matheson penned the screenplay, turning the film into a cult-like classic with continued popularity over a generation.

Considered by Matheson to be his best-written novel, the book begins with a Note by Collier's brother, Robert, who has doubts whether he is doing the right thing in publishing his brother's manuscript. This clever literary device, to my mind, gives the novel credibility, presenting the work as not a work of fiction but a real event.

Richard Collier is a writer for television diagnosed to have a brain tumour, (a death sentence) and sets out to travel in his car, flipping a coin, leaving his destinations to chance, he arrives at the Coronado Hotel, a 19th century establishment where Collier comments, "The Past Haunts this hotel". In the hotel's quaint museum, he discovers a photograph of a well known stage actress of the time period, Elise McKenna. Richard's obsession begins; he falls in love with the long dead woman, and wonders how he can get back to her, in the year 1896.

What is so good about this novel is Matheson's descriptions and feelings about the past once he travels back in time. The reader can see and feel what Richard sees and feels, in some cases, quite acutely. Richard Collier's method, too, to travel back to the 19th century, for me, seemed quite feasible. There are no machines or technological transporters, merely his Will to reach his one true love.

As has been mentioned many times, Richard Matheson is an original writer, his work mixing categories or genres, that is to say, science fiction, horror, romance and the supernatural. He is a prolific writer of over 16 novels, film scripts, and television movies and was one of the main writers for the legendary show, The Twilight Zone. Matheson's other famous text, What Dreams May Come: A Novel, adapted for the big screen as well, starring Robin Williams, is also considered by the author to be one of his best novels.

I found this novel to be very moving, realistic and original. Well worth owning and reading again.

3 out of 5 stars The movie was better.......2007-01-13

I've wanted to read this book since I saw the movie, Somewhere In Time, but it's been too expensive (over $60.00). Its finally come down in price (under $20.00) and I was a little disappointed. The movie is one of my all time favorites, but I thought the book was just all right. This is one of those rare instances where the movie was better than the book.

5 out of 5 stars Poignant Romance.......2007-01-02

I saw `Somewhere in Time' with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour, first. I was thrilled to know that it was a based on a novel, `Bid Time Return.' The story is a little different from the movie, but the concept is still there.

This is a doomed romance from the beginning. Richard Collier is a terminally ill man that falls in love with Elise, an actress of another century. He is staying at the Hotel Coronado in San Diego, and finds a way to travel back in time. The author leaves it up to you, if Richard truly traveled back in time, or if it was merely a delusion brought on by his illness.

I'd like to believe that Richard and Elise's souls traveled to a place where time was not an issue, and at last, their love could flourish.

If you were passionate about the movie, you'll thoroughly enjoy the book by Richard Matheson.

Sci-fi fans, romantics, fantasy lovers, or simply people that love a good read this novel is for you.

4 out of 5 stars Richard, I Never Knew .......2006-12-22

I never realized that Matheson, the author of Duel, Hell House, et al, is really just a hopeless romantic. In this case, that's a good thing. Somewhere In Time is the time-travel story of Richard Collier, a man with a terminal brain tumor in the year 1971. Collier falls in love with a picture of a turn of the century stage actress and through a combination of meditation and longing is able to travel back to the 1890s. He then proceeds to win over the object of his affection. This is a story that effectively conveys the sense of desperation that Collier feels as one thing or another continues to conspire against the would-be lovers. In the final analysis, the strength of this book is in the rich atmosphere of it's setting that make an impossible situation believable. Fans of sci-fi and romance will find a lot to like. Others may also. I'm not a fan of either genre particularly, yet found Somewhere In Time very enjoyable. Docked one star for being a little repetitive at times. Otherwise, it is highly recommended.

3 out of 5 stars the ecstasy and the agony.......2005-07-20

The concept of this book was certainly strong, and its sheer romanticism carried me along with it most of the way. Matheson was always a fabulous plotter, and knew how to add that special twist of irony to the end of a story, as we see in so many of the TWILIGHT ZONE episodes that he created.
Matheson solves the mechanism problem of time travel with a combination of self-hypnosis and pure love, an interesting combination. His devices to allow the two protagonists to get to know (and love) each other are somewhat weak, given the morals and mores of the time he is describing, and the disappearance of the actress's mother from an active role towards the end of the story (in order to allow for some flagrante delictoing) seems rather too convenient.
As a romantic at heart, the ending of this story was very disturbing to me............the two SHOULD have been able to stay together, as the main chracters do in Finney's novel TIME AND AGAIN. Was all of Matheson's story merely a long-winded way of saying that time travel shouldn't be attempted, because history can't be changed? But in fact history has already been changed here; the relationship between the characters changes both of their lives forever, simply because they met and fell in love.
In any case, I will never bring myself to read it again, because that last couple of pages is simply too painful. This does not change the fact that I think the book is very well-written..........I just wanted a different ending, sappy fool that I am at times.

3 out of 5 stars Good but not great.......2007-04-27

This book was not as good as the reviews stated. I am still trying to figure out why I spent that much money on a paperback book. I was disappointed in the story. It could have been so much better if the author took the time to delve further into the lives of the characters.

5 out of 5 stars A Fantastic New Twist on Time Travel Romances!.......2007-03-10

I don't usually take the time to write a review on Amazon as I am just too busy. I had to make an exception for this marvelous new book! Sandra Bojtos Hart has a flair for time travel romances that absolutely astounded me! I have to say that 99% of my reading for pleasure is time travel romances ~ I love them! Some of them are just good, some are really great. "Somewhere Out There" was fantastic! Don't miss this one! When you get to the end, you'll go back to the first page and read it again ~ I know, because that's exactly what I did. I hear it is going to be made into a movie which is something that I can't wait to see! I won't go into the story line, as I believe you should experience this magical ride by yourself. Trust me ~ This is a keeper!

5 out of 5 stars Worth the Money!.......2006-12-27

This book is worth every penny spent. I couldn't put it down! I stayed up the whole night reading it and was glad that I did. Twists and turns abound in this time travel romance. I love time travel romance but sometimes they can all start to seem like the same....not this one! How refreshing it is to have an author who knows how to write a new twist on a classic concept. I can't wait for the sequel!

2 out of 5 stars What a disappointment!.......2006-12-08

The problem with self-published writing is that it often doesn't go through a rigorous editing process: such is the case with this novel. I was really looking forward to reading the story, but I couldn't even get through the first ten pages. It's the most poorly written book I've ever come across. The author deserves credit for going through the excruciating process of committing her story to paper (which is the only reason I gave this effort two stars), but she needs some SERIOUS editing help. This book is an insult to intelligent readers.

5 out of 5 stars Somewhere Out There.......2006-08-27

I just finished the book and I loved it. At first it was slow going but I stuck with it and I think this is a fantastic book. I am a huge fan of time travel and this book is going to be one of my favorites. I won't be re-selling this book! Eagerly awaiting another book by same author.

'This sequel/prequel to Somewhere in Time was inspired by the movie's poignant opening scene. In this scene Elise McKenna sits alone in the darkness waiting for her opportunity to give a young playwright, Richard Collier, a watch, and to utter the enigmatic words, "Come back to me." The underlying emotion of the scene, and possibly of the entire film, comes from the fact that she had been waiting for this day for sixty years!' - Back Cover

    Book Description

“AOL had found itself at the edge of disaster so frequently that one of its first executives, a brassy Vietnam veteran and restaurateur named Jim Kimsey, had taken the punch line of an old joke popularized by Ronald Reagan and made it into an unlikely mantra for the company. It concerned a very optimistic young boy who happened upon a huge pile of horse manure and began digging excitedly. When someone asked him what he was doing covered in muck, the foolish boy answered brightly, ‘There must be a pony in here somewhere!’” —From the Prologue

If you’re wondering what happened after “a company without assets acquired a company without a clue,” as Kara Swisher wryly writes, it’s time to crack open this trenchant book about the doomed merger of America Online and Time Warner. On a quest to discover how the deal of the century became the messiest merger in history, Swisher delivers a rollicking narrative and a keen analysis of this debacle that is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand what it all means for the digital future. Packed with new revelations and on-the-record interviews with key players, it is the first detailed examination of the merger’s aftermath and also looks forward to what is coming next.

It certainly has not been a pretty picture so far—with $100 billion in losses, a sinking stock price, employees in revolt, and lawsuits galore. As Swisher writes, “It is hard not to feel a bit queasy about the whole sorry mess...It felt a bit like I was watching someone fall down a flight of stairs in slow motion, and every bump and thump made me wince. It made me reassess old ideas and wonder what I had gotten wrong. And it left me deeply confused as to what had happened and, more important, what was coming next.”

For Swisher, finding the answers to what went awry is important because she remains a staunch believer in the digital future—maybe not in the AOL Time Warner merger, but in the essential idea at the heart of it that someday the distinction of old and new media will no longer exist. Borrowing from Winston Churchill, Swisher calls it “the end of the beginning” of the digital revolution. “By that, I mean that it is from the ashes of this bust that the really important companies of the next era will emerge. And that evolution will, I believe, be shaped by what happened—and what is happening now—at AOL Time Warner.”

To figure it all out, Swisher takes her reader on a journey that begins with a portrait of two wildly different corporate cultures and businesses that somehow came to believe, in the crucible of the red-hot Internet era, that they could successfully join forces and achieve unprecedented growth and success. When the merger was announced in early 2000, the irresistible combination was hailed as the new paradigm and its executives—Steve Case, Jerry Levin, Bob Pittman—as popular icons of the future. But after the boom so spectacularly turned to bust and the visions of New Media Supremacy lay in ruins, Swisher searches for clues about where the merger went wrong and who is to blame.

More important, she looks to the future of both AOL Time Warner and the Internet as she seeks to answer the key question that the noise of the disaster has all but drowned out. Will the demise of the AOL Time Warner merger be the final and inevitable chapter of the dot-com debacle or will it herald a new paradigm altogether? This book, then, is a primer for the time to come, using the story of the AOL Time Warner merger as the vehicle to show the troubled journey into the future.

4 out of 5 stars Enjoyable account of the AOL Time Warner deal.......2006-12-15

Swisher's account is lively and engaging. The only quibble I have with it is that she injects herself into the story at several points, inappropriately, it seems to me; she's supposed to be a journalist, isn't she? The story is really not completely objective. But that's a small quibble; the basic facts are fairly presented as they occurred. I did enjoy reading the book.

5 out of 5 stars This is not just about AOL.......2005-11-18

Swisher is a remarkable writer. She is able to capture the personalities, hubris, technological hype, and all the other elements that went into one of the worst merger deals in history. She has a remarkable ability to capture both the substance of the deal points, how both entities came to the position that they did and yet offer larger lessons on corporate America. The book is entertaining and instructive. It would be a great read if you are interested in any of the following topics - the internet bubble, corporate egos, corporate finance, the new versus the old media or if you simply want to read a very entertaining book.

5 out of 5 stars The story of people behind the rise and fall of AOL.......2004-10-30

This book chronicles the saga of the much maligned merger between AOL and Time Warner. A deal that exemplifies the era of dot.com speculations, shady accounting, and wealth created by the absurd free-for-all that was the mid to late `90's. When the bottom dropped out of the dot.com boom the merger left few standing and the biggest single financial loss in corporate history.

The book looks at the storied and unlikely emergence of AOL, through an often dizzying and phoenix-like rising from the ashes of one failed concept after another. Throughout, the narcissistic antics of the leaders of the company are legendary. David Colburn, the famed deal maker at AOL, used particularly colorful language in his wholesale assault on those he sought to best (Page 46), never content to merely close a deal but demoralize people in the process. He is but one of the many examples.

Time Warner head Jerry Levin, who took most of the blame for the disastrous merger, was himself a study in what happens when leaders insulate themselves from feedback. The sections on Levin are perhaps the most interesting. Devastated by the murder of his son, and the events of 9-11, Levin occasionally demonstrated "jerry mcguire-esqe" moments of humanity, including a plea for the organization to dedicate itself to serving the public good. (Page 207) A plea that was met by outright hostility as it was timed with the release of the admission that the new AOL-Time-Warner would miss all of its projected financials. Steve Case, himself a unique individual, is profiled as an enigma. Both eventually take the fall for the financial debacle.

Throughout the book the author provides powerful, yet subtle, glimpses of how real life values and meaning intercede in the "hamster on a wheel" joke that is the true character of many corporate executives. Despite the money and the power, it is clear that many of these leaders were disillusioned and left wondering what life really means.

Of particular interest here is perhaps the best example ever assembled of the power of culture. The culture clash between Time and Warner was never resolved even prior to the even worse clash of the AOL deal. An executive describing the cultural issues existing at Time Warner prior to the deal underscores the magnitude of the gap: "At Warner, if you didn't make mistakes you'd be fired because you were not taking enough chances; At Time the attitude was - don't make mistakes". (Page 73) The clash with AOL was even more severe.

The AOL executives were hated with a passion usually left to sports rivalries and terrorists, and often employees compared the merger to the "Nazi's invading Paris". When several key AOL leaders were ousted it was compared to the fall of the Taliban! There are simply way too many examples of failed due diligence, obviously on the financial and contractual aspects of the deal, but also on the total lack of insight into the devastating impact of the culture clash and poor integration and leadership. Blame flies unabated off of nearly every page on whose fault it was; the brash arrogance of AOL or the stodgy lack of vision at Time Warner, but regardless it is a textbook case study on how important culture and creating shared vision is to success.

I recommend this book highly. There are many lessons to be learned here, and it is an engaging and fun book to read. Well done.

4 out of 5 stars Crash of the Titans.......2003-11-22

Much of Kara Swisher's lively chronicle of the biggest media merger in history is focused on two visionary company leaders: AOL's Steve Case, who made the company into the 800-pound gorilla of cyberspace but could never seem to turn that power into genuine respect; and Time Warner's Gerald Levin, whose efforts to take the venerable media company into a Net-based future met with one failure after another (FSN, Pathfinder). In theory, the merger should have given both partners what they wanted. So what went wrong? Swisher counts the ways, from bad timing (the tech boom of the late 90's was already starting to wane when the merger was first announced) to tumultuous ego clashes between the "young turks" of AOL and the feudalistic "old school" hierarchy of Time Warner. And then, of course, there's the money. Swisher details AOL's "creative" accounting practices, Time Warner's less-than-diligent due diligence (possibly a product of Levin's determination to make the merger happen, no matter what), and the desire on both sides to create a "synergy" of old and new media, with no clear idea on how to make it happen. Synergy was AOL-Time Warner's Holy Grail, all-important but ever-elusive, and when the company failed to get it, the stock price tumbled. Swisher's prose style is accessible and informative. When she offers personal anecdotes or opinions, they are never intrusive or self-important; instead, they add dimension and context to the narrative, fleshing out the how-high-can-we-go? headiness of the late 1990's. My only complaints are minor ones. First, I wish the book contained a "cast list" of the major players for quick reference; when the surnames start flying around (Pittman, Parsons, Colburn, Crawford), it would have been nice to have a reminder of what positions each person held. Also, and this is no fault of Swisher's, the book went to press before the ideal ending could be included: the decision to drop AOL from the company name. (In fairness, Swisher did predict the name change would happen, and she expected it sooner rather than later. Perhaps the paperback edition will feature an extended coda.) When the merger was first announced, Ted Turner, a major stockholder and Warner board member, compared the experience to "that night when [he] first made love some forty-two years ago." By the end of There Must Be a Pony, readers may have much earthier metaphors in mind.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful, Easy to Read Perspective on AOL-Time Warner Deal.......2003-11-22

I would get this book prior to any trip...it is well-written with an irreverent, breezy style and an eye to the clever phrase or interesting anecdote. It is fun to read. The author, Kara Swisher, not only chronicles the AOL-Time Warner transaction but also provides interesting perspective on the late 90's and early 00's. One could ask why my comments and why this particular book? The book has value in that the author lived through this period, understood the genesis of the acquiring company, AOL, and importantly, was a keen observer of Time Warner (including its key players, Jerry Levin and Ted Turner among others) and the transaction that took place. To give you a sense of her style and perspective, she describes the merger as " a company without any assets acquiring a company without a clue."

What makes the book worthwhile is the author, her style and most importantly, the relationships she established with almost all of the main players. She had extraordinary access to them over time and they were comfortable enough with her to provide their own perspectives in something other than a self serving manner. There are no heroes only fools, some more gullible than others.

Buy it, you'll enjoy it and you will remember to look for Kara Swisher's by-line when you next read the Wall Street Journal.

          Book Description

          Long ago and far away.

Air force pilot Aurora Durant was lucky to be alive. It hadn't been easy to bring her jet down in the bizarre windstorm, but the savvy captain had managed. Now she had to figure out where she'd landed -- and when.

Lucius Antonius, senior centurion of the Roman Empire, couldn't believe his incredible fortune. A beautiful woman had literally dropped out of the sky. But before Lucius could claim the willful, impertinent creature, he had to tame her.

Soon Aurora discovered the true test of her spirit wasn't learning to live in a time two thousand years in the past, but resisting the powerful allure of an ancient warrior. Her agenda could only be returning to her own time, and falling for Lucius could make that mission impossible to accomplish.

          3 out of 5 stars Hmm.......2007-03-01

I was really looking forward to seeing how the author wrote this novel as it has a great premise, but the way in which the author wrote it is sadly lacking. I came away thinking that "this isn't how a Roman general would react" several times through out the book. The author needed to do more research.

5 out of 5 stars Delicious Time Travel Bodice Ripper.......2003-11-10

Another delicious time travelling bodice ripper as Captain Aurora Durant of the US Air force is swept back in time, into the arms of a hunky Roman Centurion Lucius Antonius.

Sparks fly as Aurora and Lucius clash, mainly over the status of women in Roman society and Lucius's inability in the beginning to accept that this divine young woman is actually from a future in which women are as much warriors as men.

But Aurora finds herself falling in love with Lucius despite her misgivings and he with her and this sexy yet charming story contains daring rescues, love among the dunes and a sparkling if predicable time travel plot.

This book has all the ingredients you want for a great holiday read, handsome hunk with rippling muscles, delicious but modern sexy young woman defying the boundaries of time to be with each other. Be prepared for a steamy, quality read.
          SCRUMPTIOUS!

4 out of 5 stars A great time travel romance..........2003-04-25

Captain Aurora Durant was flying over Iraq when her and her co-pilot Lt. Charlie Everett flew right in the middle of a storm like nothing either of them had seen before. When lightning strikes into the cockpit and Charlie is knocked unconcious, it is up to Aurora to bring the plane down safely, which she is miraculously able to do. What she doesn't know is where she is, only that she has a magnificet warrior standing over her talking to her in a language that hadn't been used in over one thousand years. Soon, Aurora learns that she has extrodinarily crossed time to almost two thousand years before she was born. When she realizes that she may never be able to go back, Aurora tries to find her niche in 160 A.D. Aurora never expected to fall in love with the warrior that rescued her whom she soon learns is Lucius Antonius, senior ceturion of the Roman Empire, dubbed Luke by Aurora.

Lucius had never met a more proud woman that Aurora of the gods. At first believing that Aurora was sent by his enemies to bring down Rome, Lucius is cautious. As time goes on, Lucius believes the unbelievable story of crossing through time. For surely no woman of Rome would ever challenge him as much as the firey haired goddess that he desires. Together, Lucius and Aurora try to compromise his demand for constant obidience and her demand for respect, regardless of who he is.

Somewhere in Time is a sweet story between these two people who love each other enough to overcome the obstacles that they run into. The only thing that I didn't like was the ending. I believe that Luke wouldn't have surivied in the twentieth century because he is used to constant obidience from everyone he commands. He would not know how to survive in this world where he has to take orders from a woman. Other than that, it is great and I recommend that you pick it up!

4 out of 5 stars great book! *drools*.......2003-04-08

This was one of those books that you see at the grocers with the magazines...and thank god i picked it up to give it a try...well worth it!...very romantic with just enough 'extra' to make things interesting without becoming a smut. ^.^ Highly recommend!

5 out of 5 stars Guys in skirts!.......2003-03-11

This is a great book from Merline Lovelace, I almost wish I could go back in time myself. This book is the story about U.S. Air Force Captain Aurora Durant who gets swept back 2,000 years into the past during a Saudi sand storm and meets up with Senior Centurian Lucias Antonius. Heads butt and sparks fly, along with a few choice twenty-first century phrases and a few Latin phrases as well! Needless to say if my imagination is anything to go by after the decription that Merline Lovelace gives, I hope this guy drops into my backyard sometime soon. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, I couldn't put it down. Keep them coming Merline!!!
