Book Description
She's got the rock, so when does happily ever after kick in?
At long last, Ashley Stockingdale--patent attorney, fasionista, and homeowner--can finally add "fiancee" to her spirited resume. That means the next four months will be a dizzying and decadent waltz through aisles of Vera Wang, Kenneth Cole, Sheridan sheets, Kate Spade place settings, and Oneida flatware. Well...maybe not.
For starters, the HR department has hired Ashley's ex-boyfriend (yep, the one who ran off to India with that other woman) as the new director of software. And now her fiance is starting to sound crazy--something about moving across country, to Philadelphia of all places. Worst of all, right before her eyes, Scarlett-I-need-some-Prozac O'Hara is hijacking her wedding plans!
Life for our heroine is spinning from out of control to downright confusing. But whether she makes it to the end of the aisle or not, she'll never be at a loss for drama!

Hillarious.......2007-03-19
As someone who is planning a wedding. I got a huge kick out of this book. It made me laugh out loud and is very discriptive i could just imagine the characters. In some aspects i could see myself in this character. I give this book two thumbs up for anyone who is looking for a good book to entertain themselves with.
an odd one.......2007-03-19
Put simply, it's an odd mixture of current fashion, fiance drama, and - get this one - god.
Very Funny.......2007-02-14
This book was laugh out loud funny. Kristin Billerbeck does a great job of writing great chick lit without compromising Christian standards. If you thought that Erin was a handful in the 2nd book, just wait until you get a load of Kevin's sister, Ashley. This book is fantastic.
Fabulous!.......2006-12-26
Great book! I just read it cover to cover in one sitting because I couldn't put it down! Ashley is a great character and it's nice to read a chick book that has main characters with christian values.
Another Winner from Kristin Billerbeck!.......2006-07-13
I am so bummed that this is the end of the series because this is a great one!!! Kristen has gotten me so hooked on reading the "Christian chick Lit" that I've read all of her books so far!! I don't do that normally because I like to make sure there is more when reading an authors book so I don't run out of things to read. I couldn't do that with her stuff.
This book was hard to find in the local stores. One said it would be in within a week of ordering it...2 WEEKS later nothing!!! I decided if I was going to wait I would wait while anticipating a package so I ordered this from Amazon on a Tuesday and received it on Friday! Guess who called on Saturday to tell me the book was in.....
Great, funny, witty read! Read them all!!!!

This is a great item to purchase. It will help keep everything orgainized. It is also a great tool to help you keep on track.

I would be so lost trying to plan my wedding without this book, wonderful organization and put together nicely.
Great.......2007-04-11
This is a great product because it allows me to write, draw and hold my ideas. This book also gives a few ideas on cost cutting, flowers and receptions.
Great!.......2007-01-14
This book is the BEST! It's saving me from so much stress. It has everything!
Just ok..........2007-01-09
This binder is more of a do it yourself planner. It gives you tips on how to do "crafty" things for your wedding. I've used it mainly for the clear pocket dividers to divide my receipts. Other than that...it isn't very useful.
Book Description
The great beauty and elegance of this gorgeous wedding planner are surpassed only by its many features and functions. This planner was designed from the input of brides nationwide. It offers a collection of organizational features not found in any other wedding planner.

Really Helpful.......2007-08-15
I used this book for my wedding 5 years ago and it kept me organized! I liked it so much that I bought it for a cousin who is getting married.
Exactly What I Needed.......2007-08-10
This is the most amazing thing ever. It was exactly what I was looking for and has been so helpful to me in planning my wedding. All of my wedding stuff is in one place and is so easy to find. I just wish there were some blank excel style pages to add my own stuff in on, but no big. I still love the Wedding Planner and the website has been extremely helpful too!
Great engagement gift!.......2007-06-28
I bought this for my sis-in-law when she got engaged. She is using it and says she loves it, loves the pockets and hole puncher and calculator. You could probably buy a 3 ring binder and pouches and similar items at an office supply store. But this is wedding theme and fun! Anyway it made for a nice gift, I'm going to buy it again the next time someone I know gets engaged.
Definitely the best one out there.......2007-03-03
I sat at the bookstore and pored over many planners and this one definitely came out on top. One of the best features is that it's a 3-ring binder, so you can add stuff easily. Not to mention it has a calculator built in to the cover. It also brought up a whole bunch of stuff i didn't even think of.
On a side note, I also recommend Bridal Bargains - it opens your eyes to what to expect in the industry and how you can get around high prices.
An excellent wedding planner.......2007-02-06
I found exactly what I was looking for in this book, easy layout, great suggestions, and has everything I need for planning my daughters wedding. I couldn't ask for any more.
Customer Reviews:
Cute but...........2005-07-26
We were a little disappointed that the story said the ring bearer collected $5.00 from guests at the reception and was able to go to the Zoo. We had to have my sister skip that page or we would have a four year old thinking he is able to collect money at the reception. Otherwise it was a good book and perfect for our young ring bearer.
What a Great Book For a Special Time.......2004-12-11
I recently was married and in addition to flower girls, I had a young nephew as the ring bearer. He was a little timid about performing the task as he was going to have to walk by himself down the aisle! At the rehearsal dinner I gave him the book and he loved it. For the first time he realized that he was an important part of the ceremony and at the wedding it was clear that he took great pride in his job. The book made him feel better about the whole process and was a great way to give him something special for helping me on such an important day. I would recommend this book for anyone having a young boy (3-7 yrs old) as a ring bearer.
There are much better books out their.......2004-12-09
I was very disappointed in this book -- and I am returning it rather than give it to our ring bearer. I found the book to be much too specific to fit our needs (the ring bearer is refered to as "I" but the wedding is specifically described as his older brother and he will have to miss the soccer game in order to go to the wedding). The first person writing will make if difficult for children to identify with the book, since the details are unlikely to fit most circumstances. I found another book that told the story of a child name Bobby, to be a much better fit, because kids can differentite between a character and themselves much easier than between "I" and themselves.
I was also disappointed that the flower girl book was almost a verbatim version of this book.
Everything it says it will be.......2003-02-07
My husband and I bought this book for our wedding, and it has become a lovely keepsake remembrance of the special role our ring bearer played for us.
OK by itself..........2002-10-25
...but don't buy this book AND 10 Neat Things about Being a Flower Girl. It is the exact same book, same wording, etc., with only a few gender changes here and there. That wouldn't have been a problem except that my ring bearer and flower girl are siblings in the same household. Now I feel silly giving them identical books.
As for this book on its own merits, there is no story to it. I thought it only "sort of" explained the ring bearer's role and didn't really make it sound fun.
Book Description
Three generations of women discover the healing gift of family, memories and love
Needing time to contemplate her troubled marriage, Tessa MacRae agrees to spend the summer helping her mother and grandmother clean out the family home in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. But the three women have never been close. Helen, the family matriarch, is domineering and sharp-tongued. Nancy, Tessa's mother, appears to be little more than a social climber. And Tessa herself is in turmoil following a family tragedy that has affected them all.
Now, with the gift of time, Tessa's eyes are opened, and she begins to see her mother and grandmother for the flawed but courageous women they are. As she restores a vintage wedding-ring quilt pieced by her grandmother and quilted by her mother, the secrets that have shadowed their lives unfold at last. And each woman discovers that sometimes you have to clean house to find the things you thought were lost forever.

Wedding Ring.......2007-05-26
A fellow quilter referred me to the Emilie Richards books and this was the first one I read. What I loved about this book was the easy flow of the story and the wonderful way the story mimicked the quilt as it patched together the lives that the quilt and it's making brought together. I can't wait to read the next one. (The Endless Chain)
Good Read.......2007-05-12
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I like to read novels with quilting included in the plot, even so, there was much more to the story. I recomment this novel to any readers, not just quilters.
Pretty Good.......2006-10-05
This book wasn't a page-turner for me; it was one of those "I started it and I'm going to finish it" kind of books. Nontheless, it was a nice book, and I liked how it explored the issues and obsessions between mothers and daughters. I would have passed it on to my younger-teenage daughter, but the last few chapters changed my mind. Ah, for a book that doesn't describe everyone's bedroom interludes.... This author likes to promote her causes - MADD gets plugged several times in this book. Nontheless, it was interesting enough that I'm starting the next book.
---Emilie Richards is America's answer to Maeve Binchy---.......2006-09-10
WEDDING RING is the first book in the Shenandoah Album series. It's also the first book that I've read by Emilie Richards. Since I don't live too far from the Shenandoah Valley, I was attracted to this story because it features an area that is familiar to me. I wasn't disappointed; this is a well-written and captivating story.
The book centers on three women. Tessa who is thirty-seven, her mother Nancy and her grandmother, Helen. The women don't really seem to care much about each other and have little in common. Helen lives alone in Tom's Brook and when Nancy, who lives in Richmond is called by neighbors and told that her mother needs help, she and Tessa feel the obligation to visit and possibly make arrangements to put Helen in a home for seniors. They knew that Helen was a saver, but what they find is a house stuffed to the gills with magazines, unread newspapers, empty bottles, boxes of old paperwork and items that nobody could possible want. Helen who had been a superb housekeeper, is now living in a big mess, but insists that she needs it all. They also find dozens and dozens of beautiful quilts that Helen had been making for years.
Tessa and Nancy feel compelled to spend their summer cleaning out the old farmhouse and possibly preparing it for sale. They each have their own personal problems, but they grudgingly work together and mostly argue. As the weeks go by they began to talk and relate the stories of their personal lives that they had never shared with each other before, and it all starts with the story of an old wedding ring quilt.
The characters that Emilie Richards creates are so real that I know I've met some of these people in my own life.
READERS.......2006-08-17
ALL THREE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES WERE GOOD. BUT, I MUCH PREFERRED THE FIRST TWO. WEDDING RING JUST DIDN'T HOLD MY INTEREST AS WELL AS THE FIRST TWO. HOWEVER I WOULD RECOMMEND ALL THREE BOOKS READ IN ORDER OF PUBLICATION, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE FIRST TWO WERE GREAT. IT IS ALWAYS NICE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST OF THE TRILOGY.

Love it!.......2007-09-17
I bought this book for my 2 year old nephew who will be our ring bearer. I love the poem style as well as the illustrations. I think it is a great choice for younger children to understand what goes on at a wedding.
Perfect Gift.......2007-08-03
I bought this book for my 4yr old ring bearer. It is so sweet and just what I was looking for. I would recommend it to anyone!
More aptly named, "The Ring Bearer's Guide".......2007-05-07
Well crafted illustrations and a simple, yet descriptive story line tells the tale of a young man and his duties, concerns, and adventures while being a ring bearer. My "little men" (we had two ring bearers) requested this read over and over in anticipation of their role in our big day. Highly recommended and appropriate for children ages 2-8.
Great Intro to Weddings.......2006-10-07
I found this at the library for my 2.5-year-old son simply as an intro to what a wedding is, as we'll be going to one soon. It doesn't talk about the child actually being the ring bearer, which is good in our case. It does focus some on the ring bearer, but shows the overall wedding as well with pictures of the bride groom, wedding guests, etc. It's a pretty simple book & is great for our purposes!

Useful! Keeps my wedding pieces together..........2007-05-07
I bought this pretty early on when I was not sure WHAT I would or wouldn't be needing. My first wedding, no wedding planner hired and I ending up liking this. It has thick clear plastic pockets you can put samples of everything in (linens, dress colors, biz cards) and that comes in handy. Helps with some questions you should ask vendors if you don't know the basics (which I did not - so this and the internet)... and give you extra papers for words/ideas.... just half way through planning now and I am still using it. Its a good way to keep ideas, papers, samples, EVERYTHING kept together in a very pretty binder. (Plus if you get stressed and you dont want to think about it for a few days it hides away nicely too...)
Pretty good book.........2007-01-12
This book has some pretty good ideas for planning a wedding but nothing you won't come across in just planning alone. The binder is helpful to keep things organized.
Looked far and Wide.......2006-02-09
I looked thorugh every bookstore and website for the perfect wedding planner. If you want a "How-to" this may not be the planner for you, but if you want lots of room to doodle, take notes, good worksheets and pockets, this is perfect. I also like the 3-ring design, I have added a lot of pages so far, any three hole punch will adjust to fit this binder. All I could have asked for!
Book Description
This easy-to-follow, step-by-step workbook teaches the quilter an easy, accurate and innovative technique for strip-piecing the Double Wedding Ring quilt. The book has clear, illustrated instructions which take the quilter through the process of cutting, piecing and assembling this old time favorite quilt. Easy-to-follow instructions, color photographs, planning charts and the template patterns for six different size rings are included. Author John Flynn, an engineer and quilter, has demonstrated his Double Wedding Ring technique on HGTV's "Simply Quilts" and on Kaye Wood's "Kaye's Quilting Friends".
Customer Reviews:
Great book and great designs.......2006-11-10
Just with this book would have explained his designs better, but we figured them out and made the one on the back cover first. Much fun! We are stitching by hand, so I combined with another book for hand stitching tips. So far, so good!! Worth the money.
Great Book, Great Quilt Design.......2006-07-02
I just love this book. I should mention that while I'm neither a novice nor an expert quilter, I have managed to put together a king-sized Star of Bethlehem quilt with only 2 pages of directions. Comparatively, this book makes the Double Wedding ring a piece of cake (I had to buy fabric for the Star of Bethlehem twice because I ruined the cutting on the first batch).
The spiral bound design is very useful. While the book contains several full-color quilt examples, the instructions are black and white. It's a shame that you can't see the quilt on the back cover of this book - it's very contemporary with red and white fading spirals on a black background.
The book is very descriptive and contains detailed instructions on every step, including planning the final design. Flynn's strip-piecing system works well in this double wedding ring design. He also includes some worksheets for planning your own color sequences, and tips on selecting fabric.
Plan on 8 fabrics for every color circle (6 for the arc and 2 for joining the arcs), plus a background color. My quilt is king-sized with 18" rings and uses pink and cream rings with a burgundy background.
I ordered this book from Amazon and then ordered the templates mentioned in the book directly from Flynn, although I could have made templates from paper designs in the book. The templates are as thick as my plastic rotary guide, and very good quality, and they included ready-made seam allowance guides essential to his strip-piecing method (these little seam allowance tapes made a big difference in my making successful arcs & rings). While I could have saved money by ordering the two together from Flynn, I am glad I read the book before ordering the templates. There are several sizes of rings, from 6" to 24", and the book helps you choose the correct size for your project (larger sizes for larger quilts or wall hangings).
Great step by step.......2006-01-09
I used John Flynn's Double Wedding Ring book as my "first" hand sewn, King size, quilt. It took me six months by hand but the result was so awesome. I am making another one for my second daughter in law. It makes an awesome wedding present and with his "step-by-step" method I had no problem with the finished product. I got instructions of the "hand quilting". But the piecing together was easy to follow.
I am recommending this book to my friends as well.
Thank you
Flynn Wedding Ring Quilt.......2001-09-27
I made this quilt twice. It was very easy to make with the
directions given. The patterns were copied onto transparency
film and then cut out for ease.
I used the strip piecing as suggested in his book, although
tedious at times because of the double handling, it cut down
on the worry that they wouldn't be quite round enough or too
round.
I highly recommend this quilt book as fun, easy to use,
and very pleased with the finished product. This book is
on my stack of books to keep.
Happy quilting.
Wonderfully detailed.......2000-04-18
This book makes the classical double wedding ring quilt much easier. The details are easy to follow and everything comes together if you follow the steps one by one. The templates for different sized rings and the yardage for each is included. People will think you are a professional when you complete this traditionally not-so-easy quilt.

Customer Reviews:
Hardly a keepsake!.......2007-09-23
Expensive and disappointing.
The first one I bought broke within a few days (the binder fully detatched from the outer cover). I returned it. The second one was crushed - dog-eared and scruffy. I returned that one too. When finally the third one I bought broke (again the binder detatched), I resorted to a Staples folder with Martha's inserts.
Over-rated, but vaguely useful.
Not for non traditional.......2007-09-19
Unlike some of the shared reviews, my book came in perfect condition. However once I looked at it I realized that it was not for me. This is more set up for a coulpe that is having a really tradional wedding. If you want something more simple or you are from a small town, this might not be what you are looking for.
Beautiful.......2007-09-01
I got this wedding planner for my newly engaged sister and we couldn't have been more thrilled with it! It is a beautiful binder, with helpful pages thoughout. The section of flowers alone is worth it. With the beautiful pictures and detailed list of types of flowers, you can go to your florist knowing more than just the colors you want, you will actually be educated about flower design. There are numerous worksheets (you may need to make copies of some of them for larger weddings), and great tips on almost every page. All sizes and styles of weddings will benefit from this wonderful planner. Perfect for the elegant or super organized bride.
The Only Wedding Planner.......2007-08-15
This was the third (and most complete) wedding planner I bought...
I bought Emily Post's Wedding Planner, which has a bit of helpful etiquette and tradition and some useful forms.
I also bought, and returned, The Knot's Ultimate Wedding Planner, which was a grave disappointment.
I ALSO bought a small 3-ring binder for sketches and clippings.
Martha Stewart's planner has it all.
It is the most concise, complete, helpful and beautiful.
What sets this planner apart is the format: it's a 1-1/2 inch 3-ring binder, which fits letter-sized paper!
It provides convention, tradition, etiquette, forms, and I can add all of my sketches and vendor documents.
The design concept is quintessential understated elegance - a celadon green satiny exterior with a matching cloth "binding."
It's large enough - plenty of room for copies of pages (get used to making copies for the contacts and guest list).
It comes with 2 zip-lock letter sized pockets, a sheet of business card pockets, and six one-sided paper pockets.
It has quite a bit of helpful information regarding invitation, seating, and procession conventions, with illustrations and diagrams.
The photographs are plenty and supplementary - never overdone or simply to look nice.
Speaking of pretty pictures, Martha Stewart's wedding planner is a great "companion," as the editors put it, to her Best of Weddings book.
Between the two I honestly do not feel the need for any bridal magazines.
I do wish I would have purchased this planner first, as I am not using the Emily Post planner anymore!
You will be impressed and relieved with both the quality and the quantity this essential resource embodies and encompasses.
I recommend:
Martha Stewart's Keepsake Wedding Planner - Great for solidifying ideas.
The Best of Martha Stewart Living Weddings - Great for ideas!
Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette - A MUST for anyone getting married, part of a wedding, or invited to a wedding.
The Knot Guide to Wedding Vows and Traditions - Surprisingly insightful.
What a binder.......2007-07-26
I was impressed by what I got. This planner keeps me organized. This is good tool for planning and a nice keepsake.

The BEST Wedding Planner EVER.......2007-02-15
I have been searching for the perfect wedding planner/organizer for over a year now, and this has been the answer to all of my wedding-related prayers. It's simple, but elegant and aesthetically pleasing - I love that it's ring bound, but not overly stuffed with useless information, much like other wedding planners. The only thing I would change is to make the pockets larger - a normal 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper will not fit in the pockets - you have to punch holes into them and place them inside the rings. Other than that, it's fabulous! :)
