Book Description
Okay, it's a fact. God made guys and girls different in more ways than just the physical. But how different could we really be? After all, we are all made in His image, right? Well, yes, but . . . Let's just say that guys and girls view the world in such different ways, that it's a miracle we communicate at all. What's worse is girls this age often think they know what makes guys tick and . . . that couldn't be more wrong!
Chad Eastham tells it like it is . . . to girls . . . from a guy's perspective. His stage presentation transfers beautifully into this book, putting the facts in black and white for girls to see. You think that short skirt says to guys, "I'm a fashion billboard!" Think again. Chad tells girls how guys see such fashion statements as advertising something completely different than a hip dresser. Chad wrings out every ounce of experience from his colorful life and uses it to help teens make informed choices.

Parents: buy this book for your daughters.......2007-08-29
I predict that this "must read" will take the nation by storm. This is a crucial, can't-put-it-down message. Don't worry--no embarrassing content; just straight talk--presented convincingly--regarding the practicality and advisability of maintaining personal boundaries.
Very important read for all teenage girls!.......2007-08-04
This author of this book knows just how to "talk" to teenagers. I read the book before giving it to my 14 year old daughter and was very impressed with his writing style. The small amount of references to biblical versus was just enough to remind me (and my daughter) how loved we are. That we have so much love from God that we do not need to "seek" love or approval from others. Being ourselves is good enough. The person who loves us for who we are, not for who we "try" to be is our match. The confidence that this book instills in the reader that they are already loved and are a treasure is wonderful! I recommend for all teenage girls!
Very helpful for young women.......2007-07-05
My daughter really loves this book! She found it to be very helpful in understanding the male brain and how they think about girls. It made her think about how she was presenting herself in front of guys and what changes she needed to make in order to present herself in order to receive more respect from guys. She wasn't behaving badly, but with our current culture our young women are constantly bombarded with the wrong message, and this book was great to help her see how guys really are and how she needed to change some things so that further interactions will be more positive and less painful. I am hoping that these insights will save her from making the common mistakes that current culture deems normal and OK.
All of the answers you need.......2007-03-08
Hey girls! Are you wondering why guys are so confusing? Well in the book The Truth About Guys by Chad Eastham, he reveals everything a girl should know about guys.
In the book The Truth About Guys Chad writes about the differences between girl's and guy's brains. Girl's brains are like spaghetti. They're all interwoven and they can talk about 50 random topics in 1 or 2 sentences. Guy's brains on the other hand are like waffles. Their brains have compartments and their thoughts can't flow. For example, in one compartment may be about his dog. When he thinks about it he will only talk about that one topic, until he stops and remembers another compartment. Chad also talks about how different girls are from guys. For example, girls like to ask guys about their feelings and talk about what they're thinking. Guys would rather not talk about their feelings. They would rather discuss topics along the line of sports, cars, dirt, and fire.
This book is really good for guys as well because they can read it and figure out why girls get mad so easily, and what we are looking for in a guy. This book shares really good tips about dating, communicating, and understanding guys. Find all the answers to all of your questions and know how to have a good and healthy relationship with the opposite gender.
Great for Girls.......2007-01-11
I saw Chad Eastham at a conference and my daughter and I loved his talks so we got the book. It is wonderful... funny and very informative. An excellent read for young and teen girls!!!

Another romp of a tale from rising star Liz Carlyle! David, the dissolute Lord Delacourt, happens upon the mistress of his dreams, complete with flame gold hair and a couple of, ahem, other attributes that lead Delacourt to nickname this vision of female pulchritude "Peaches." But he quickly discovers that his perfect woman is no fille de joie; no, she's Lady Cecilia Markham-Sands, a genteel if impoverished young woman very much on the marriage mart. Caught in a compromising position with the virtuous virago, the reportedly disreputable Delacourt does the honorable thing and offers to marry Cecilia. But Cecilia wants nothing to do with the womanizing lord and refuses his troth, much to Delacourt's surprise and even dismay.
Years later when fate intervenes in the form of Delacourt's interfering brother-in-law, Cole Amherst, from Carlyle's earlier novel A Woman Scorned, Cecilia, now the widowed countess of Walrafen, once again encounters her nemesis Delacourt in the most unlikely of places, running a shelter for rehabilitated prostitutes in London's slums. But when the unfortunate women in their care begin to turn up dead, Cecilia and Delacourt put aside their animosity to discover who is preying on their defenseless charges. Thrown together by the investigation, passion quickly replaces antipathy, and the fires that have been simmering for six years flame out of control. Readers will love Carlyle's flowing prose, heated love scenes, and titillating portrayal of the macabre. Let Liz Carlyle make a fan out of you!--Alison Trinkle
Book Description
From the grandeur of regency Mayfair to the dark danger of London's East End, Liz Carlyle sweeps you away with a powerful story of a love born against all odds, as an honorable young widow stands fast against the cynical rogue who seems determined to consume her, heart and soul.
A Woman of Virtue
In the lonely months since her husband's death, Cecilia Lorimer has hidden her emptiness by devoting herself to a charity mission for the unfortunate women of London's slums. But when the dashing Lord Delacourt takes control, she feels an uncharacteristic urge to flee. Just six years earlier, Delacourt had proven himself to be the immoral rake society called him, nearly ruining her reputation in the bargain.
It's whispered that the womanizing Delacourt is vain, vindictive, and merciless. But he's a man who honors his wagers -- and one result lands him in his brother-in-law's godforsaken mission, face-to-face with the woman who has long haunted his dreams. When treachery closes in, only he knows how to guard Cecilia from the consequences of her own principles. Can a profligate knave persuade a virtuous woman that he is worthy of her trust -- and her love?
Download Description

Not What I Expected.......2007-09-26
I first encountered this author when she released The Devil You Know back in 2003. I thoroughly enjoyed that book. Currently in a slump of bad romance novels, I had hope this book would do the trick. Sadly, it didn't.
The prologue is wonderful--cute and funny. All goes well until the story shifts its focus from "romance" to "mystery." Although I enjoy riveting suspense, the mystery isn't engaging or interesting at all. Actually, it mostly acts as fillers for the story. Unfortunately, the sex isn't any better. (I agree with another reviewer that the sex scenes are tedious and formulaic). The protagonists are likable, but I didn't care too much about them.
All in all...disappointing. This is not what I expected--and neither would recommend. Instead, try reading THE DEVIL YOU KNOW. It has minor flaws, but it's far better in terms of romance and steamy love scenes!
2.5 stars
Wonderful sensual steamy historical.......2007-04-11
Carlyle just doesn't write a bad book. Some are better than others, but they all guarantee a great read. I loved this one! In this book David, Lord Delacourt, has been secretly obsessed with Cecilia for over six years, and thanks to a bad bet with his brother-in-law Cole (from A Woman Scorned), he finds himself working side-by-side with her at a woman's shelter for 3-months. Cecilia had once rejected his suit years ago, but she gets to see a new side of him that she deeply desires. There is a murder mystery that sets the background to this story, but the real story is the heat and passion that erupts between these two. I loved it!! Even when they are fighting you can feel the heat. This is a steamy, sensual book that kept me glued to the pages.
A Woman of Virtue is one of Liz Carlyle earlier books, and it introduces us to several characters we will see in her later books (including the yummy Hell-Bent Bentley from "The Devil You Know", Maximillian de Rohan from "No True Gentleman" and Giles, Lord Walrafen, from "A Deal with The Devil".) Plus another entertaining experience with the valet-turned-antique-dealer Kemble. If you have read her more recent books this is a great one to catch up with.
Most LC books can be read in any order, but I will note that there appears to be a great deal of overlap in this book from the book A Woman Scorned. Since I have not yet read that book, it made it a bit hard to follow some of the background story of David's past and his connection with Jonet (Cole's wife and heroine of A Woman Scorned). There appears to be spoilers in this book, so I find myself wishing that I read A Woman Scorned first. Oh well, I will read it anyway and am sure to enjoy it none-the-less.
Earlier Liz is great as well............2006-12-09
I really enjoy this author so I decided to go back and read her earlier work. A Woman of Virtue is a fun historical romance of two people who pretend to hate each other. They are pushed together to solve a mystery and solve an old desire. Off to read more ....
Perhaps Carlyle's best work to date.......2005-09-08
A Woman of Virtue is an absolutely fabulous romance. While the cover plays up the mystery, the book is very much a romance. No doubt Carlyle's mystery here is nearly perfect, remaining a mystery until very nearly the end, with just enough hints to pull it all together. The interest there never flags. But as good as the mystery is, the romance is even better.
That is due primarily to David. Cecilia is a very good heroine. Indeed, compared to most, she's terrific. It is only in comparision to the nearly incomparable David that she pales. (Not that that detracts from the book in this case.) David is one of the best heroes I've ever read, in large part because the reader is absolutely convinced that he loves Cecilia. I don't know that I've ever been more convinced in fiction of a man's love for a woman. This is especially true in the love scenes, which here really are LOVE scenes. More than any other book I can think of, these scenes show the hero's love for the heroine and his deepest emotions about their relationship. Indeed, Carlyle thoroughly shows (not tells) David's emotional state throughout the book. He is a marvel...and absolutely marvelous.
Carlyle tops all that off with a superb cast of secondary characters who make you eager to read the next book. This romance is utterly convincing, the mystery consistently diverting, and the whole well worth reading, repeatedly.
A story of obsession, redemption and honor.......2005-08-31
After losing a bet to his brother-in-law, the scandalous Lord Delacourt must assume the directorship of the Daughters of Nazareth Society -- a mission helping former prostitutes -- for three months. Upon his arrival at the mission, David finds himself dealing with Cecilia Lorimer, the only woman who has ever rejected him.
Six years ago a case of mistaken identity almost had David ravishing Cecilia. Instantly obsessed with her and wanting to make amends, David arrogantly insisted on announcing their betrothal. When Cecilia publicly jilted him and later married someone else, he proceeded to gain a reputation for being an immoral rake. Cecilia, now a widow, and David find themselves working together and embroiled in a mystery to discover who is murdering the women at the mission. Cecilia's life is soon in danger and the pair find themselves in a cat and mouse game with the murderer even as they try to come to terms with their feelings for each other.
A WOMAN OF VIRTUE is a story teeming with obsession, redemption and honor. Take a gentle but steadfast heroine and a spoiled rake and you have the makings of a true battle of the sexes. Throw in a mystery and you're left with a wonderful story complemented by the touches of sensuality and humor that is Liz Carlyle's hallmark.

This book is an awosme book. Frist of all i have to say Elizabeth George is an awsome author. This book talks about he fruit of the spirt. Like like Love, Joy, Peace, Goodness etc..
This book talks about each one of the fruits. Elizabeth gives stories for most of them and backs her infomation up with scripture.
This book also talks about Jesus and how he acted. Which is so amazing.
The only bad thing about this book is when you finish it.

Simply Magnificent.......2004-04-20
This book, in one day, taught me more than I have learned in many years. A MUST read not only for women, but men as well! To the point, matter of fact, delightful recounts of familiar biblical stories simplified for everyday use. Wonderful wisdom and insight by the author combined with uplifting artwork, pages and cover. I plan on purchasing a minimum of 10 copies for giving to my nearest and dearest family and friends...including a few men! The most enjoyable book I've picked up in years...thank you and blessings to Maria!
Don't Let the Title Fool You.......2001-11-17
I'm not sure why the author chose as a sub-title, "52 Virtues For Every Woman." The packaging suggests it was a marketing decision. Regardless, the readings are equally appropriate for men. This book is a rare gem. The book is packed with biblical wisdom made easier to appropriate through stories. This book has real power to enrich anyone's life who is open to its timeless truths. It has benefitted me personally. An excellent devotional resource. I applaud the author (and illustrator) for this outstanding work.
Inspirational and thought-provoking.......1999-10-23
I've given copies of this book to five other women, and all have had nothing but good things to say about it. Too often we overlook the importance of spirituality in our daily lives; this book clearly and concisely offers us a chance to grow in love and wisdom, thereby becoming stronger and more compassionate women.
Inspiring and easy to read........1999-05-13
This is such a wonderful idea for busy women. The readings are short and to the point. It is full of wisdom based on the Word of God. The author has insight and a very good way to convey her ideas. I highly recomend it to everyone to utilize as a weekly study.

A great Book about relationships.......1998-07-14
I'm a counselor and ordered this book for a patient. However, after I read this book I decided to keep for myself and to teach some of the author's concepts in my practice. I would recommend this book for anyone--not just those considering divorce or marriage counseling. It is very concise and to the point with a tremendous amout of wisdom on every page.
