Stephanie Plum, the trash-talking New Jersey bail bondswoman of this popular series, is tracking Maxine Nowicki, who's wanted for skipping out on a car-theft charge lodged by her ex-boyfriend. Now the ex-boyfriend's very interested in getting back the love letters he supposedly wrote to Maxine. But what he's really looking for is the secret on which Evanovich hangs her screwball cast of colorful minor characters, including Sally Sweet, a cross-dressing drag queen; Lula, the 250-pound ex-hooker who works for Steph's boss; Cousin Vinnie, the bail bondsman; Grandma Mazur, who packs a Glock and is always looking for a little action; and Joyce, a wannabe bounty hunter who's been cramping Steph's style since she played pass the salami with Steph's ex-husband. The action doesn't get much farther from Trenton than the Jersey Shore, but when Steph's apartment and car are blown up by the others on Maxine's trail and she moves in with Joe Morelli, the handsome, arrogant cop she's been hung up on since high school, it gets hotter than the craps table in Atlantic City. Plum's fans won't be disappointed in this fourth outing in the series, and they're likely to be even more interested in the snappy patter and sexy shenanigans than in the mystery that holds it all together. --Jane Adams
Book Description
Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey's favorite pistol-packing, condom-carrying bounty hunter, is back--and on the trail of a revenge-seeking waitress who's skipped bail. With then help of 73-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-hospitable, all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman. Then again, with more mishaps than there are exits on the Jersey Turnpike--including murders, firebombs, and Stephanie's arch-rival bounty hunter chasing after the same fugative--Stephanie better watch her back big-time if she wants to live to crack this case.

Stephanie Plum series.......2007-09-02
I love the Stephanie Plum series of novels. I really hate reading so I purchase them both in audio for me and paperback for houseguests and friends. I'm drawn in with the excitment and adventure of the story that Janet seems to capture in every novel. It has twists, turns, Lula, mystery, wonder, and of course two very "HOT" men! Who wouldn't want a mix of both men. :} I would recommend the "Plum" series, her "Full" series, as well as her earlier novels of mixed titles. They're all great fun and keep you as a reader at the edge of your seat waiting to see if a cars going to get blown up, who's died this week, who attends the pot roast dinner, who she sleeps with next, what will burn down next, and will she get her man (love or bounty). I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. I look forward to #14 in the "Plum" series, the next "Full" novel, and the new novel Janet recently wrote with a new author being released this October. Thank you!
Stephanie Plum does it again!.......2007-07-16
In this novel stephanie manages to get herself caught up in something that is not her business(so what else is new?).Janet Evanovich has managed to keep me laughing hysterically at this one.If you have never read any of the stephanie plum series, I advise you to please start from the beginning. You'll definitely get your moneys worth with these!
narrator review.......2007-06-14
I'm confused. The first half dozen or so Evanovich books were read well. Then suddenly around "Eight..." they started to sound bland. I miss the old Grandma.
Another Good One.......2007-05-23
In this book Steph is on the trail of a woman who stole her boyfriends car and leads Steph and Lula on a merry chase to the shore. Danger has Steph moving in with her sometimes boyfriend Morelli. This book introduces Morelli's grandma who can put the hex on people and she see's visions of kids in Steph and Joe's future.
This is another great book in the Plum series. I love them all and can't wait for more.
The worst narrator ever- read the paperback, don't listen to the book.......2007-03-27
This is the only Stephanie Plum audiobook narrated by CJ Critt. She is the worst Stephanie Plum ever. Read this book...don't try to listen to it. The other Stephanie Plum novels are narrated by Lorelei King who is good, or Lori Petty, who is even better.

Conversations in Clave.......2007-09-23
I found this book to be a very interesting and refreshing change to the other books I seen relating to this subject. This is not for the faint at heart. "Conversations in Clave" will challenge and motivate...but YOU need to do the work. No magic pill here!! If you go for it, you will increase your independence, knowledge and skills.

Janet Evanoviches Complete Collection.......2006-11-12
In the last two months I have bought and read all of Janets Books and WOW I can't wait till June when she has another book coming out. I have truly LOVED each and every one of them From the Plum Series, Full Series, Motor mouth and her First rereleased novels. I only wish she had more out. They are books so packed full of adventure, comedy its something I could reread again.
Hilarious.......2006-10-06
These books had me laughing out loud. True, some of Stephanie's exploits are hard to believe, but that is what makes them so funny. Would like to start and see the characters grow a little bit, though.
This form is for the BOOK, not the delivery.......2006-05-12
The books are terrific. Witty, suspenseful, and creative. You will enjoy them.
WAS VERY UPSET.......2005-09-12
I should have recieved a return for the money that I spent on delivery. I paid to have the books delivered in two buisness days and recieved them in a week and half. Not so fast it doesn't end there. I had to be home to sign because of an address mistake (also not my fault). I then hurried to open the box full of anticipation, only to find another set of books 6,7,&8. Which I had already recieved on time just days before. I read the invoice it was right, but the contents of the box were way off Once I returned the books the new ones came rather quickly. I still was left with a bitter taste having spent money to have them delivered faster.

How To REALLY Make A Difference With Students.......2007-05-06
This book, along with other tools for your classroom, is yet another excellent source to turn your mediocre writers into advanced writers. The strategies are also excellent for empowering your students to pass your state writing assessments.
Awesome.......2005-09-23
This is just what I was looking for: a step-by-step writing program that includes examples of student writing that I can share with my students. I couldn't be happier.
Blowing Away the State Writing Assessment Test.......2002-11-20
After my first year of teaching and experiencing the stress associated with preparing for the state writing assessment, I knew I had to find something that would help me know how to prepare my students for this important test. As I stood in the middle of a teacher's store, I spotted this book. I wondered if this would be of any help. Since I was open to any ideas, I decided to take the chance and make the purchase. Happily, I admit, this was perhaps the best purchase of my entire teaching career. Mrs. Kiester's simple four-step plan was a "God-send." She puts into print each step a teacher should follow to help her students became extremely proficient writers. I have followed her plan for several years and have had great success with my students. I believe my students truly understand the writing process, and it is all due to Mrs. Kiester's Blowing Away the State Writing Assessment Test book. Hooray, Mrs. Kiester!!! This is the answer we've all been looking for!
Blowing Away Your State Writing Assessment Tests.......2001-05-30
This book is well worth the price!! I was able to turn average writers into stronger, self confident writers. Students buy into the ideas presented in the book, and take off in their writing. For the students who just need a little boost, for dramatic flair in their writing, this book is the ticket. Start today! Your students and parents will thank you for the metamorphsis they see in student writing. Share with colleagues and you'll be a star.
An excellent resource!.......2000-08-04
Keister, well-known to many English teachers as the author of the Grammar with a Giggle series, has written a helpful handbook for those of us who are faced with assessment testing. Although she teaches middle school, her activities and strategies would work well in my high school classroom. She has also included modifications and suggestions for elementary students. Keister focuses on specific skills that will raise test scores considerably. For example, one skill she hones in on is the use of strong verbs. At first this seems nit-picky, but I know from experience that using vivid words can make up for a multitude of writing sins on the state writing tests. Another skill she discusses is writing the five-paragraph essay. This focus has improved my own scores on the Standards of Learning writing assessment we have here in Virginia. She provides a huge listing of practice writing prompts, a godsend to a busy English teacher. Nearly half the book is devoted to examples of student responses to state writing prompts and the score they earned. Keister emphasizes, and in my experience rightly so, teaching the students the evaluation system used in assessing their writing. The examples of student writing and the score they earned is a blessing to me as I never had enough examples to discuss with my class, let alone scored examples. The only quibbles I had with the book are minor. Keister teaches in Florida, and their rubric is different than ours here in Virginia. The differences are minor and can be compensated for. Also the organization of the book was troublesome for me. I found I had to read the entire book to get a sense of where things were located rather than use the table of contents to find specific activities or skills. My book has lots of Post-it notes sticking out of the top to mark the great ideas I want to use this year. Overall I would say that the book is a must-have for any English teacher who wants easy, time-efficient ways to score higher on state writing assessments.
Book Description
One of the most popular of all violin concerti, this baroque masterpiece of "program" music was composed as a musical illustration of four sonnets. Painstakingly researched by baroque authority Dr. Eleanor Selfridge-Field, this miniature score edition offers a modern, authoritative, and up-to-date edition that incorporates Vivaldi's Italian descriptive notes directly in the music.
Customer Reviews:
Very Colourful!.......2002-12-08
This book from the Metropolitan Museum of Art is so cute!
It took awhile to get to me but well worth the wait! Aside from the rich pictures of 18th century scenery and people, this book can also be used as a picture book for children.
With the sonnets for each season, the pictures lets your imagination go back in time. The 4 seasons are wonderful concerti and the pictures helped imagine the music on another level.
The only thing that was lacking was the CD that went with it. I did not find it to be the best recording, but good nonetheless.
th 4 seasons.......2000-03-29
This is truely a beautiful piece of music, is a pleasure to play
Book Description
For 200 years, Beethoven's symphonies have been at the core of the classical repertoire, and they remain among the most important works of art in any medium. These elegant four-hand versions of Beethoven's masterpieces have long been favorites of duet performers. This volume features his final 4 symphonies.

good quality.......2007-03-26
old school cassette thus not as portable as audible style ones but the plus side is you can sell it or give it away when you're done like a book. Some day some rich guy's gonna sue for the right to give away or sell our digital music or audible licenses so they can be resold or traded like hardcopy styles like this can. Until that happens I'll continue to recommend cassette like this over digital versions.
Evanovich Does It Again -- And Does It Well.......2002-09-30
Janot Evanovich, author of the Stephanie Plum mystery series, has a hilarious writing style that both pulls readers into her stories and makes them laugh out loud. The audio versions of these stories are no different and in fact are possibly more amusing thanks to the vocal talents of Debi Mazar. Her Jersey-girl accent makes it feel like Stephanie is in the room with you and telling you about her mishaps, of which there are many. If there is ever a movie starring this plucky and clutzy bounty hunter, I would encourage casting agents to seriously consider Mazar. Her attitude and way of speaking fit the stories to perfection. These audio versions are abridged, which saves time but cuts out parts of each book. For anyone who has yet to read the books, I would encourage you to do so before listening to this format.
How can you cut Evanovich's words?.......2002-07-26
This series is toooooo good to cut a single word. I adore the analogies, characters, and descriptions in these books - I was sorely dissapointed to find these audio versions abridged.
DO THEM OVER UNABRIDGED and I will purchase every single audio and enjoy what I've already read and fell in love with.
Who makes these decisions and what in the world were they thinking????
Book Description
Complete unabridged scores of Schubert's 4 most popular symphonies, edited by Johannes Brahms. Includes No. 4 in C Minor ("Tragic"); No. 5 in B-flat Major; No. 8 in B Minor ("Unfinished"); and No. 9 in C Major ("Great"). Reprinted from the Breitkopf & Härtel edition. Study score.
Customer Reviews:
Traditional scores with caveats.......2006-12-28
No bar numbers, and letters only in the Great. If you like the "traditional" editions - those prepared by Brahms - it will do the job. However, recent performances are based on new editions with some corrections (like that by Brian Newbould, which is my favourite). Unlike other editions, the few bars Schubert left for the scherzo of the Unfinished are not included.
Orchestral Masterpieces.......2003-08-24
These Four Symphonies by Schubert are perhaps his best, with the 8th 'The Unfinished', and #9 'The Great' perhaps being the best known. But the Mozartean #5 and the 'Tragic' #4 are little gems that showcase Schubert's genius as well.
Dover's edition is taken from the complete works of Schubert as printed by Breitkopf and Hartel. The editor of this edition of the symphonies was no less a musician than Johannes Brahms! A fine edition, excellent for study and following along while the music plays. Recommended!

Book Description
None of Verdi's other operas, with the exception of Ernani, enjoyed such an immediate and resounding success as Il trovatore; followings its premiere on January 19th, 1853, it soon became a favorite across the continent. Verdi himself was very protective toward Il trovatore, as was his habit with the operas especially dear to him--he exercised tight control over revivals, denying his consent to performances when the interpreters were not up to standard, and refusing to make alterations requested by singers. Thus little alternative material was introduced, and all of the changes that Verdi himself made can be deduced from the study of the autograph full score. David Lawton's critical edition of the orchestral score forms the basis for this new piano-vocal reduction, which includes an English singing translation by Mark Herman and Ronnie Apter; this affordable paperback edition offers performers and scholars a reliable source for interpretation and study of Verdi's composition and dramaturgy.

Mini-sized guide laden with maxi-helpful information.......2000-09-07
The Opera Journeys Mini Guide Series is just wonderful; it's like a "Cliff Note" of the opera, and extremely informative and educational. I particularly like the size; these guides are not cumbersome and fit right into my shirt pocket. The ladies will find sufficient room in their pocketbooks.
The story narrative with the music examples is excellent. I prefer it to a libretto; indeed, it's a much easier way to follow the essence of the story. The essay is magnificent; very well written, not pedantic, and extremely insightful and comprehensible. I congratulate Burton Fisher for a job very well done and Amazon for making these handy, information-laden booklets available. The Opera Journeys Mini Guide Series is a wonderful contribution to opera education and opera appreciation.
My tip: acquire the entire collection because you will be in easy reach of superbly presented opera guides consisting of story analysis, principal characters in the opera, story narrative with music highlights, background, analysis, and commentary.

Very Nice Score.......2001-02-01
This is a very good musical score of Vivaldi's Four Seasons and the rest of opus 8. My only disappointment was that the harpsichord (continuo) was not scored (which would have been extremely useful in 'Autumn' or 'Storm at Sea').
This score is great!!! My orchestra loved it!.......1999-09-03
This score is great!!! My orchestra loved it! I know you will too
The best available score of "The Four Seasons".......1997-04-14
This is no doubt the best music score Dover Publications (which generally publishes high quality reprints of older editions) has ever put out. Not only is the score of this set of Vivaldi's Op. 8 concertos--consisting of the "Four Seasons" and eight other works--freshly edited from a computer database version of the 1725 first edition by Dr. Eleanor Selfridge-Field, but it is beautifully typeset and contains ample "Critical Notes" and variant passages. And the price is an outright steal! Every lover of Vivaldi owes it to himself or herself to get this magnificent score
