Download Description
When Ashley Hanes calls Bailey Weggins out of the blue, Bailey figures she's calling to ask for a fashion or publishing-related favor. Bailey only met Ashley once when they were both bridesmaids in Peyton Cross's wedding, and they didn't have anything in common. But Ashley wants more from Bailey than help getting into a Chanel sample sale. She tells Bailey that two of the bridesmaids from Peyton's wedding have died in what seem to be unrelated accidents. One was killed when a clock radio fell into her bath, and the other had a fatal reaction to some antidepressants she was taking. Bailey thinks that the deaths were probably just weird coincidences, but she lets Ashley convince her to at least speak to Peyton. And if the deaths weren't weird coincidences Bailey has a real reason to worry-she was a bridesmaid at Peyton's wedding too.

Really page turner.......2007-04-10
I am not a big reader at all, but I picked up this book at good will and I LOVED IT!!!! White keeps your attention through out and has you guess the whole time. I even felt my heart race once ;-) its a great book and I have already ordered two more of hers
good book.......2007-02-12
Kate white is very good - it's a fiction that catches your attention
A Page-Tuner that Keeps You Guessing.......2006-12-08
Bailey Weggins, writer for Gloss Magazine, is asked to be a bridesmaid for Peyton Cross, a friend from her college days. Peyton is a smart mouthed woman who runs a catering service. Apparently she's alienated quite a few people in her life. But when you marry money, you can get away without being nice.
Two of Peyton's former bridesmaids Jamie and Robin die, seemingly by accident. Jamie's CD player fell into the tub while Jamie was bathing, frying both itself and Jamie. Robin died when something she ate reacted with the anti-depressants she was taking.
Were they accidents?
Ashley Hanes, another bridesmaid, thinks maybe not. She thinks there is more to it than meets the eye and asks Bailey (remember she was a bridesmaid too) to look into it. Bailey agrees, but then if there is a bridesmaid killer on the loose, she could be on the list, but her current boyfriend, assures her the two deaths were accidental and it was only by coincedence that Jamie and Robin died only a few weeks apart from each other.
However, when Ashley is found dead, a victim of still another accident, a fall, Bailey knows these are no accidents. What's more, someone is going to be coming for her. So, no it's imperative that Bailey find the killer.
I loved this book. Bailey is a great character and Peyton was too, though she's not very likable. I liked the fact that Kate White played fair with the clues, even though I didn't figure it out till the end. I like page-turners that keep you guessing and that's what this book is.
Enjoyable Series & (Mostly) Likeable Protagonist.......2006-07-18
I picked up the first book at a library sale, and enjoyed it enough to order the next two off an Amazon seller. Both were as well-plotted and enjoyable (I didn't have a clue to the identity of the real killers until the very end). The first-person narrative is peppered with neat allusions, metaphors and wit. My main point of contention is that for a savvy, intelligent journalist and semi-investigator, Bailey is one pathetic chick at her relationships, expecially with men. She is too conflicted, and in too many instances acts like a doormat with her beaus and other people with whom she interacts. An example is her attendance as a bridesmaid at Peyon's wedding in this book: of course, it set the stage for the plot, but that could have been set through other means without her allowing herself to be terated like absolute garbage by the Bridezilla. Any self-respecting woman would and should have walked away from the wedding in order to maintain some semblance of dignity. However, all in all, a very good series, and I'm looking forward to book four. Maybe she can actually keep a man in this one... :)
Audio Blah.......2006-06-21
As another reviewer stated it may be the audio version that diminishes the book. The female reader's voice is laughable when she tries to impersonate any male voice and all of her female voices sound alike so you're not quite sure which character is talking. The lead character (Bailey) is rather annoying because she tries to come across as hip and views the other characters in the book as superficial when she appears to be the most pretentious of them all.

Drawn-out writing and inconsistent artwork........2005-11-06
"Til Death Do Us Part" is the third volume of a much-ballyhooed Superman revival from several years back. It was an attempt by DC to inject energy into the Man of Steel when the venerable teams working on the character at the time had begun to run out of steam (some of them excellent creators left over from the "Death and Return" days, like Dan Jurgens). The new teams were highlighted by Jeph Loeb, a hot writer to be sure, and a gaggle of artists headlined by Ed McGinnis, whose cartoony style was a sharp contrast to the traditional, realistic artwork that had dominated Superman for decades (probably since the legendary but sketchy Gil Kane stopped drawing Supes in the mid-eighties).
Things started out strong in stories collected in the first two volumes, but by this one, the wheels were coming off somewhat. When the books inevitably crossed over, the sharp contrast between McGinnis's style and other, more realistic artists distracted terribly from the story (though all these artists are fine creators in their own right). Also, the story seems very padded here. By the time the resolution is finished, the reader is relieved, but not because Superman is reunited with Lois. Rather, it's because the story is finally finished.
Incidentally, the story also contains a bit of an "ick" factor, as the Parasite replaces Lois Lane. Before this is revealed to the reader and to Clark/Superman, "Lois" makes Clark sleep on the couch. At the time, Clark had no idea how lucky he was.
Too Long & too irrelevant........2004-08-21
As you can see this book has a lot of pages but most of the story in these pages are just fillers. They are long and irrelevant to the main story and at a certain point makes you stop caring about the story altogether. The main premise is interesting...it's about Lois and Clark's marriage being on the rocks. Superman tries his best to accomodate to her feelings or at least what he perceives to be her feelings. While this story can be told in a limited number of issues, DC comics opts to spread it over other mini-stories that are much less interesting. The end result is you get a mediocre collection of Superman stories.
What happened?.......2004-07-01
After the great "Death of Superman" series, this work was not up to my expectations. The artwork was sadly sub-standard and it was a very weak portrayal of Superman. I can't quite picture Superman so willingly being a doormat, even for Lois. If this were my only exposure I wouldn't come back, even with the interesting twist at the end.
Introducing: Superman the Softie!.......2004-05-30
Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman to be the modern mythical hero ala' Hercules. Read the Golden Age tales collected in the Archive Editions. Superman fights for the everyman. Superman is a crusader. Superman is proactive and sometimes even works outside the law, all the while believing in the greater good. Then read this insipid volume and weep!
In the early days of the Silver Age (1950s), Superman is criticized for being more "Steel" than "Man". Therefore the warm and funny "Shazam" comics were outselling Superman nearly every month. When Mort Weisinger brought in Jerry Siegel and Otto Binder to rework the entire Superman mythos in the late 1950s, however, the book took on a change for the better. We are introduced to a Superman Family and to his Kryptonian past. Superman became a character with tragedy, family and fun all mixed together. With the 1986 revamp of the character by John Byrne, he became even more "human", having grown up in Smallville and all. The team of Dan Jurgens, Louise Simonson, Roger Stern and Jerry Ordway sought to always balance the "Steel" and the "Man" showing him as a very powerful hero who at the same time have very human sentiments.
Then came Jeph Loeb. "Superman For All Seasons", the Smallville TV series and now this. Superman is no longer the Man of Steel. He's now the man of soft-putty. Granted, Loeb wanted to bring Supes back to his Smallville roots but he tends to overdo it. Supes became a softie, a country-bumpkin. Worse is Superman's attitude towards his wife, Lois Lane. Granted, Supes is a good husband - but under the hands of Loeb and gang in this volume, Supes doesn't even dare to breathe unless Lois gives him permission! The melodrama is a little too much.
Now the story. Lois is acting like a total b*tch in this story. Superman is trying to suck up to her to make her stop acting so b*tchy! Turns out that Lois is actually replaced by Parasite (since when? oh, it happened off-panel?). Superman fights Parasite-Lois. That's all! Worse still, the story doesn't get resolved until the next insipid volume "Critical Condition" that is even worse than this one (if that is even possible)!!!
The only highlight here is the art by Ed McGuiness. Though not the traditional style associated with Superman, McGuiness is able to make everything look BIG and FUN almost effortlessly with his manga-esque art. As for the writing, most of it is done by Jeph Loeb and Joe Kelly. In my opinion, Joe Kelly can't write even if it is to save his life (read some of his JLA to see what I mean). As for Loeb, I actually like HOW he writes but not WHAT he writes. He has the ability to let the reader "see" into the thoughts of the characters but the plots are all so paper-thin that the whole thing amounts to nothing more than self-important introspection.
All in all, a TERRIBLE work by a creative team that should have delivered better. I dropped the Superman books not long after this story and the next, "Critical Condition". If this trend continues, the "condition" of the Superman books is "critical" indeed!
Very Enjoyable.......2002-07-25
Full spectrum of stories are presented here. Some fun, some touching, some exciting. I highly recommend it.

Relationship Stories That Will Blow You Away.......2004-08-19
Very well told stories about relationships. Married and unmarried couples all can relate to a story or two. I personally want to know how this author did such a great job at displaying these real stories. This is my first time reading Franklin White but it won't be my last. Especially since I am not a short story kind of girl, but Mr.White has what it takes to write a short story and wrap it up very well. You don't feel like your hanging you feel full.
My favorite story was LOCKDOWN it was very intense and at times I felt I was the character Kye. Miles Away was another good story that had me feeling sorry for Mikhail. Change Of Heart was the bomb and I didn't even read Fed Up With The Fanny but I now have it on order thanks to this story. And the other story that has stayed with me is Before I let go It was a very powerful story about marriage, friendship, and death.
The greatest of these is love. (I Corinthians 13:13).......2002-06-03
I thoroughly enjoyed these short love stories which give readers a hunger and thirst for more... love!
Til' Death Do Us Part is a collection of short stories about couples of all ages. These stories will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love. "Love So Deep" and others stories in this collection contain the makings of additional books. While helping us to capture the essence of love, Franklin White also reminds us how precious and short time is. It is essential that we LOVE AND LIVE in the now because we never know how long that is, in hours, days, weeks, years.
Don't let another moment pass without falling in love with these rich morsels and the tasty characters who give flavor to each story.
Another Blessing.......2002-04-24
I really enjoyed this book. It has fourteen stories and all are connected to people who try to stay together in relations whether married or not. My favorite story was Change of Heart which is the continuation of Fed Up with the Fanny. I was glad to see the author bring back some of the characters and once again I was surprised at the ending. I also enjoyed the very first story "Lockdown" about a lady who had to decide whether or not to stay with her husband who had been sent to prison. The main character really had to jump through some hoops to keep her family together and I was glad she made the right decision at the end of the story. The story "Love So Deep" has a pace like no other story I have ever read. I was so good to read about a couple who stood together through the civil rights movement and who were once Black Panthers but were still in love. This story is a must. The very last story Before I Go was touching. I cried because I couldn't imagine going through having cancer such as this main character did and asking her friend to take care of her husband and marry him when she died. I think this book was wonderful and will give it four stars only because I wish he would have made all of these particular stories novels. Franklin White is a very good author.
expected more.......2002-04-08
I was very disappointed with this book: a collection of short stories Mr White didn't seem to want to take the time to finish. Too bad because one or two had the makings of a great novel.
I'm feeling Franklin!.......2002-01-06
Franklin White is now on my top list of male writers. I love the way Franklin is able to bring me into his stories and this collection of stories was no different than his other two books that I have read. The continuation of Fed Up with the Fanny-the ending really shocked me and I have to admit I didn't see it coming but I do understand why Deric did what he did. He simply didn't trust Kelly any longer. Also the story 'Miles Away' was really a page turner and I would have love to see this in a entire novel. The long distance relationship was very true and believable and I loved how the female character had a very important job in an industry that you don't hear about women actually being in. The very last story 'Before I Go' should be a movie. This story made me cry more than one time. A very good read and I will continue to purchase other works from this author.

Til Death Do Us Part.......2001-02-14
This was an excellent book! You become so involved in the story because you get to know each of the characters so well. It was difficult to put this book down until it was finished. I look forward to another novel by this author!
Til Death Do Us Part?.......2000-10-19
I enjoyed reading this book. There were many times when I had to force myself to put it down. I love books where I become involved in the characters lives and feel like I am a part of the story. This book drew me in and held me captive. The author creatively and successfully combined relationships, mystery and drama in a refreshing way. I was sorry when I finished it because I would look forward to sitting down and reading it every day. This is a book that I will pick up and read again.

Customer Reviews:
Novel Crimes. . . where reality meets fiction!.......2004-03-10
Embezzlement, fraud, stealing and murder give mystery writers something to write about-unfortunately, they'd rather it not take place in their personal lives!
Love's Pros and Cons
Miguel Villarreal would make a wonderful roll model for Tina Frank's hero in the novella she's writing with her Sleuth Sisters. After her handyman is murdered and a FBI agent shows up, Tina begins to have doubts as to whether Miguel is really a hero, or worse yet-a villian!
Suspect of My Heart
If you can't beat them, join them. Raine E. Wells takes a job at the art museum in order to find out what's been going on at the museum, hoping to find a story to write about, and if the museum is safe enough to entrust them with her newly inherited famous paintings.
Lance, one of the maintenance men, seems to know an awful lot about art for his position in the museum.
Will Raine catch a thief? Or be caught up in more than love?
Love's Greatest Peril
Justine Proof knows someone's after her, but isn't sure why. Could Patrick Bells, a.k.a. Wild Pat, still have a dark side? Why is it that whenever Justine has `car trouble' Patrick always seems to turn up? Is he her stalker or her knight come to rescue her with a raspberry latte? This coffee shop owner has more than coffee on his mind!
`Til Death Do Us Part
Ever have a dream that came true but turned out to be more of a nightmare? Maybe Cassie Jordan should stick to writing romances-no one gets murdered! When her mystery plot turns to reality, it has her questioning the one person she shared her story idea with-Ethan Hamil!
Read Novel Crimes to find out whether or not the heroines survive their real life mysteries and live to tell about it. I'm sure you'll enjoy these wonderful stories as much as I have.
Other books by these authors include (note: they're in anthologies with various other authors): THE BOUQUET and LOVE AFLOAT, by Diann Hunt; THE HOUSE THAT LOVE BUILT and HAPPILY EVER AFTER, by Susan May Warren; HIGHLAND LEGACY and TAILS OF LOVE, by Pamela Griffin; CHRISTMAS LETTERS and HEIRS OF ANTON, by Susan K. Downs.
Novel Crimes.......2004-02-29
This novella collection is a fun romp through the world of novelists, filled with mystery and quirky characters. Woven together with Drake Axelrod?s The Makings of a Great Mystery, the novelists try to use his rules as they write mysteries of their own. In Love?s Pros and Cons, Tina Frank learns that first impressions can be deceiving, especially where Miguel Villarreal is concerned. Suspect of My Heart takes us into the world of fine art and people who would steal it. Raine E. Wells has to learn that all is not as it appears, especially where Lance is concerned. In Love?s Greatest Peril, Justine Proof has to learn that she can trust Patrick Bells.?Til Death Do Us Part finishes the collection with a story about Cassie Jordan and Ethan Hamil?s quest for love. This book is a very good read!
THE "SPIRITUALLY [my addition] SLEUTH SISTERS'" STORIES.......2003-12-28
Wow!!! What a great Christian anthology of four novellas from GREAT authors who weave their own lives into four mystery novellas that are challenged to be written and published by a "Professor Drake" who has led their [imaginary] Convention about just such a topic. All four of these novellas - and excellent tie-ins "Prologue" + "Epilogue" will bring you to page turning this book in one and a half days. (Yep! I counted it just for you!) What a great idea for a gift for your favorite someone or for yourself. I really loved this one. And it already had my favorite author in it as one of its authors (Susan May Warren.) The others are newcomers to me up to this point but believe me I'll be back for more! Come and get it! You won't be sorry!
