Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Three years before The Wonder Worker was released, in the afterword of the sixth installment in her Starbridge set of ecclesiastical novels, Susan Howatch dashed her fans' dreams. Absolute Truths was to be her last intellectual surplice-ripper. Did this mean we would be left forever wondering whether megacharismatic Nicholas Darrow would find a way to meld his psychic talents and his religious calling? What about his sidekick and mentor, Lewis Hall--would he ever manage to control his substantial earthly appetites? And what of gifted substance-abuser Venetia Hoffenberg? Would she be forever denied the literary chance to just say no? Luckily for us, all three are back in Howatch's latest, serious sacerdotal romp. But The Wonder Worker plays out nowhere near Starbridge's great cathedral and is not even indirectly about Anglican power struggles or traditions. It is set instead in St. Benet's-by-the-Wall, a small church and healing center in London's inner city. The book does, however, feature all of the author's strengths: vivid characterization, scenes of flamboyant and unorthodox religious power, and emotionally exhilarating personal encounters. Nicholas Darrow is back, not as chief narrator, but seen through three sets of eyes: those of Alice, a young woman who seems to see him more clearly than anyone save his mentor; Lewis; and his disillusioned wife, Rosalind. Nicholas's own viewpoint reveals his life and job as healer extraordinaire swinging out of control. In addition to the pleasures of the multiple viewpoints, there are the usual (i.e. unusual) pleasures of watching Howatch make the spiritual flesh. Though she has often been compared to Anthony Trollope, one astute reviewer has termed her "the love child of Graham Greene and Iris Murdoch." Other writers might approach her talent, but few would dare follow up a scene in which Nicholas hypnotizes his wife into sex with an even more exciting one in which he is called to order by his spiritual adviser, a nun!

Fiction for the Thinking Christian.......2007-06-16
Most of the action in this novel occurs in a healing center, where two priests, a physician, social worker, counselor and several volunteers work. This is an unusual and intriguing setting.
Howatch, through the crises of the various characters, is able to portray the connection between body and soul and explores the deeper meaning of healing. Healing is almost always a process.
I think that the average middle-aged person can relate to at least a couple of the struggles of these characters. So reading this book is therapeutic as well if you use it as a tool for self-examination.
Howatch explores the psychological dimension of these crises in addition to the spiritual. Sometimes the psychobabble gets tiring but overall I appreciated this perspective. It's good to think beyond the usual Christian terminology.
If you enjoyed the Starbridge Series this book should not be a disappointment.
Not in the same class.......2006-07-25
This is not in the same class as the other CofE books. Page after page of tedious psychobabble that does not move the story forward. About 100 pages could have been cut.
The characters are awful: Lewis has deteriorated in a boring old curmudgeon, Stacy is just too infantile for words, Nick seems to have no regular common sense insight (much less psychic ability). These people are terrible priests and should be fired / defrocked!
And the ending is just ridiculous. I can't tell you why without spoiling it, but suffice it to say, it is not true to anything that has gone before.
Of couse, I read the whole, huge thing because I has to see what happened, so there must have been something redeeming there to catch my attention.
A great read.......2006-06-10
I enjoyed this novel. The story unfolded nicely, with changes in narrator, from one character to the next. As you read about the characters from the point of view of others chapter after chapter, you see that you never get the whole story. Each character is like an onion, revealing layer upon layer.
It was the first Howatch novel I've read, and I'll be reading more in the future.
The Wonder Worker.......2005-07-22
I loved "Cashelmara" and "Penmarric." I didn't know Susan Howatch had written anything after that other than the church stories which I did not enjoy. I'm so glad I looked her up again. Her earlier works were so much better. Of course that's MHO.
A Tedious Installment in a Fascinating Series.......2001-10-01
The literary problem with this novel, which so many readers find so riveting, is its construction. The book is broken into five parts narrated by four different interconnected persons. While it is interesting to view events as through a prism, this technique wears thin in page after page of rambling prose. This novel would have been much stronger if it had been edited down. Much too much verbiage! Much too much wandering over the same territory! At one point I wondered why I kept plodding on. The answer is, you get hooked on these characters due to this surplice-ripping series as a whole. Despite several melodramatic moments, nothing much happens in this novel-- it could have been condensed into a fine short story. For a budding Howatch fan, I recommend "Glittering Images" or particularly the incredible potboiler "The High Flyer" over this book any day.

Satisfied.......2007-08-28
I received the book, Meet Solanus Casey, in a very short time after ordering it. The book is in perfect condition. Thank you very much
"Even the Smallest Person...".......2007-03-09
Do you ever feel insignificant, or that your little life doesn't make a difference? Well, "Meet Solanus Casey"! His life proved that even the smallest person among us can change the world by just being himself. Born of poor Irish farmers, Solanus (Barney) did so poorly in his studies for the priesthood that he merely attained "simplex" status. In his latter years, 400 people a day would line up to counsel with him - so great was his love and his impact on his fellow man. Be inspired by the love of this little friar and believe that you, too can change the world.
A Spiritual Man for Our Times.......2002-11-28
I have visited just about every state in the Union, and I am constantly amazed at how many people have heard of Fr. Solanus Casey. A native of Wisconsin, one of 16 children of a devout Irish Catholic family, Fr. Solanus entered the Capuchin Order and spent the rest of his life listening to people's problems and praying for the healing of their bodies and their spirits. His cause for canonization is currently pending in Rome.
Several fine biographies of Fr. Solanus have already been written. "Meet Solanus Casey" is unique in that it is written by one who lived with him in community and was his personal friend, Brother Leo Wollenweber. Brother Leo draws on the rich documentation available about Fr. Solanus, but he also adds so many anecdotes and personal reflections that are not found elsewhere. The result is a warm, intimate portrait of a man who inspired faith in God in so many people. Readers will also appreciate the appendix entitled "Wisdom from Fr. Solanus"--a collection of brief sayings selected from his letters and diaries.
"Meet Solanus Casey" is a gracious introduction to the life of this happy and loving Servant of God.
Really meet Fr. Solanus.......2002-11-16
This is one of three or four biographies of the Capuchin holy man, but it is far the best for the common reader. It is written by a friar who had a long association with him, and is therefore very personal. You truly feel that you have gotten to know Fr. Solanus as a person, not just as a miracle worker or a phenomenon. The amount of theological discourse is small and never confusing. I am recommending it to all, even to the more sophisticated reader.
Book Description
The many gifts Padre Pio had such as the stigmata, bilocation, miraculous scents, prophecy, reading hearts, healing, interpreting languages and many other charisms, rank him among the most extraordinary Saints in the two-thousand year history of the Church. Padre PioThe Wonder Worker not only examines these gifts close up and from different perspectives, but is capable of challenging the faithless, of exciting interest among the wavering and of inspiring the faithful to strive for holiness.
Though the book records many authenticated wonders, the book's main virtue consists in recounting the life and heroic virtues of this modern day Saint who shows that the way to personal holiness is very much with us in our day. The first seven chapters are a biographical sketch, followed by over thirty chapters dealing with the many inspiring facts pertaining to his life and charisms. Also included are chapters on the Beatification ceremony in Rome and the Pope's homilies.
These short interesting chapters are written by a host of writers and devotees of the Padre such as Fr. John Schug, OFM Cap, Fr. Stefano Manelli, F.I., Mary Ann Budnik, Padre Alberto, Cardinal Ursi, Fr. Bernardino of Siena, Fr. Andre Apostoli and many others. Illustrated with dozens of photos.
Customer Reviews:
Insightful, inspirational, illuminating.......2000-04-07
It's impossible to imagine a reader not being moved by the life of Padre Pio as told in this delightful little book.
Complete with numerous photos of the Saint and rich chapters about the life of this holy man this is a title you'll turn to again and again.
Padre Pio's gifts of the stigmata, bilocation, prophecy, reading hearts, and interpreting languages makes him a most extraordinary Saint.
The chapter on his bilocation alone is well worth the price of the book.

Miracle Worker.......2005-09-04
St. Anthony of Padua lived a truly remarkable life. The parallels between his life and the life of St. Francis of Assisi are uncanny. Both rejected the comforts of a noble upbringing for a life of solitude and service to God. St. Francis of Assisi was clearly a major influence on the life of St. Anthony.
Many recognize St. Anthony as the saint to pray to when things are lost as well as praying to him for safe travels. However, few people are familiar with the miracles performed by St. Anthony. So profound was his work, that the pope put his cannonization into progress within a year of St. Anthony's passing from this world. Whether converting pagans and muslims or raising the dead, nothing was impossible for this man who was clearly in the Lord's favor.
The printing of S.A.G. on letters invokes the saint's protection on letters and packages. This a small though popular way our lives are influenced by St. Anthony.
For those seeking to learn of the divine life of St. Anthony and his miracles, I would highly recommend this book. While the text is brief, the book is packed with information. The faithful should have difficulty stepping away from this read. It should be difficult not to find inspiration in reading this book. I would hope St. Anthony would guide my life in order that my work might be pleasing to the Lord. I would hope the same for other readers as well.

Everyone should have this devotion.......2005-09-19
Thank you. This devotion has helped to change the lives of my family. I can not recommend this highly enough. Saint Philomena is truly a wonderworker.
A good book to introduce yourself to this amazing saint.......2003-09-18
This is a great book. St Philomena seems to be a saint who is particularly close to God, and you'll understand why once you read about the circumstances of her death and the the incredible success which people have had when asking for this saint's intercession. I'm glad to see that devotion to this saint has been increasing in recent years, after having slacked off somewhat just after Vatican II.
From a Conservative Catholic devoted to St. Philomena.......2003-07-08
The book is excellent. The other two reviewers were correct in many ways. St. Philomena is terrific and this book is just great in getting out the facts. She is so powerful because she is in heaven interceding on behalf of those who ask for her intercessionary prayers. This book shows how to receive favors from God through her intercession. I strongly recommend this book and the adoption of St. Philomena as a patron (or patroness) saint. I also recommend obtaining her chaplet (see page 96) in this book. Good Reading and God's Blessings!
A WONDERFUL SAINT.......2001-10-24
Saint Philomema is an amazing Saint. This book deals with all of the Miracles associated with her, and more. One must believe in the existence of God to appreciate the many marvelous Saint's he has raised up to combat evil over the course of Human history, and also to spread Christianity and his word. The book is fabulous, if you Love reading about Catholic Saint's I highly recommend that you read about Saint Philomena. I thank Father Paul Sullivan for introducing me to the story of one of God's incredible children from our human family. Saint's stand out from the rest of us, because what they endure and strive to accomplish spiritually is staggering beyond words. Praise God and Bless You All.
An Old Gem Back In Print.......1999-06-19
Father O'Sullivan's book on Saint Philomena is a comprehensive look at the history of the devotion to this mysterious martyr from the Catacomb of Saint Priscilla. Dropped from the liturgical calendars in 1961 due to lack of authentic biographical information about her life, Saint Philomena has been nearly forgotten by Catholics of the Post-Vatican 2 era. This is a shame, for contrary to the flood of MIS-information currently published about her, Philomena was NOT de-canonized or declared not to have existed. O'Sullivan's book sheds much needed light on the controversy surrounding the finding of her remains in 1802 in the catacombs.
This child was found with her skull very badly fractured, with evidence of lance-wounds. This, regardless of any controversy about the disarrangement of her tomb-tiles, proves that this Christian child died a horribly violent death. The badly fractured head, coupled with the vial of martyrs' blood placed inside the tomb next to her head, PROVES her martyrdom for all who care to see the truth. Her Sainthood is proven by the numerous and well-documented miracles which have continued to occur since 1805, when people first began to ask this mysterious Child Saint to pray for them.
I am delighted that Father O'Sullivan's book is again available, and I encourage all who want an ACCURATE assessment of the story of Saint Philomena, to get and read THIS book, and not the more modern and erroneous books and articles about her.

The captivating story and many adventures of St. Francis Solano for children 10 and up; his converting the slaves on a sinking ship and 9,000 Indians with one sermon, healing the sick, finding a spring in the desert, etc.
Customer Reviews:
Interesting but with an agenda.......2007-08-31
This book is aimed at older elementary-school children and consists of chapters, each describing a magician or conman of days gone by and revealing the means of deception. Persons included, among others, are Houdini and Cayce. This is a well-written book, as are the other books by this author investigating historical frauds. Unfortunately, he equates any claims not subject to "currently accepted" scientific laws as superstition and also condemns any belief in the supernatural.
Speaking as someone who deals every day with science, let me be the first to say that science does not have all the answers and that simply if a charlatan says or misuses a truth does not render it untrue. So if you want you child to become a positivist, this is your book. Otherwise - no.
This book should not be placed in public libraries, if for no other reason than its added and unnecessary propaganda.
