Book Description
Raised as a pirate's daughter, Amanda Carre has not been tutored in the finer social graces. Alone in the world, she has never depended on anyone, until fate intervenes when Cliff de Warenne rescues her from a mob at her father's hanging. Now she must set sail for England to find the mother she never knew, and her chaperone is an infamous ladies' man
.
The greatest gentleman privateer of his era, Cliff knows honor demands that he see this beautiful wild child to London and into her socialite mother's arms. He's aware that Amanda is utterly unprepared for a debut in London's ton, so his only recourse is to become her guardian and champion her transformation into a lady--and find her a suitable match. But with every passing moment it becomes harder to deny his jealousy and ire--until Amanda makes her stunning debut, a lady at last. And when his passion is finally released, their love can no longer be denied.

My first romantic novel in 15 years and I was unable to put it down until I was finished........2007-09-26
There was something so touching and sweet about this story. I almost missed work because I had been up all night reading it. Amanda is so desperate she offers herself to the governor in exchange for her father's pardon. Her despair, pain and vulnerability are so palpable despite her attempts to hide them behind her tomboysih and defiant exterior. The scene at her father's hanging brought tears to my eyes. Cliff DeWarrene's reaction to her plight and the way he came to her aid won me over. He was truly an honorable man. And he sincerely tried to think of her as an innocent child that needed to be taken care of, offering her his protection without expecting or even accepting anything in return. I found myself laughing out loud when I saw his jealous outbursts while he still denied his feelings for her. Brenda Joyce was very adept at developping these 2 characters and building/evolving their relationship. The sexual tension between them was always there, but she also took the time to build their friendship and their respect for each other. The fact that Cliff still preferred Amanda as "La Sauvage" versus the lady endeared him to me even more. This is basically the story of a gentleman sea captain, an unlikely damsel in distress with a lot of heart and spirit, a love story amid pirates, London's aristocracy, and the Jamaican Islands. What can you ask for more.
Wonderful read!.......2007-06-11
Wonderful read !
I have not read such a good novel in months ! And I devour books! Definitely a keeper.
Fabulous!!.......2007-05-20
An avid fan of romance novels, I just finished reading A Lady at Last and I absolutely adored this book. It will rank in my top ten amongst the hundreds of romance novels I've read.
The story of Cliff and Amanda is refreshing as the hero is not one of the typical brooding overly aggressive males. Instead he is a pure gentleman fighting his feelings and looking to truly take care of and look after the heroine. She is also a delight to read about as she tries to seduce her gaurdian.
Definitely give this one a read!
At last........2007-05-16
This is an excellent title for this book. I now realize that I have read at least one other of the series and will look for the rest because this book was very readable, the characters were interesting and I love series books. The two main characters in this book made me laugh and cry with them. Lovely book.
Brenda Joyce Series.......2007-05-16
This is the second book in a series of which I wish to have. The series has 4 books and the 5th book will be published this fall.

Book Description
An acclaimed writer takes readers inside the world of M. Night Shyamalanthe most successful filmmaker of his generationas he creates a new movie masterpiece
In 1999, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan exploded onto the cinema scene with his supernatural thriller The Sixth Sense, which garnered major acclaim and raked in massive box office numbers around the globe. Since then, his phenomenal commercial and critical success has continued as his filmsincluding Unbreakable, Signs, and The Villagehave grossed over $1.5 billion and reinvented the thriller genre. But throughout his rise to prominence, Shyamalan has remained separate from the Hollywood system, living and working solely in his hometown area of Philadelphia, and keeping his ideas, filmmaking techniques, and business practices tightly-kept secrets.
In The Man Who Heard Voices, journalist Michael Bamberger takes readers inside Shyamalan's world for the first time, getting total access to the man who has been called the modern-day Hitchcock as he prepares, creates, and test-screens his next film, Lady in the Water, which stars Paul Giamatti (star of Sideways) as a building superintendent and Bryce Howard (star of The Village) as a mysterious sea nymph. Bamberger's intimate perspective and insightful narrative prose will bring to life Shyamalan's creative processfrom his multiple drafts and revisions of the screenplay to his on-location work with his cinematographer and crew and his relationships with the actors under his direction. The book also follows the high- stakes business decisions behind the scenes, including his agonizing decision to move from Disney to Warner Bros. for this film, his involvement in the studio's massive marketing campaign, and the evaluation of the crucial initial test-screening of the film.

Cut & Dry.......2007-09-15
If you're an M. Night fan you will not be able to put this book down. It's amazing.
An unbiased look at the film making process.......2007-04-11
I almost didn't read this book after reading some of the reviews and comments made by others on this site. I'm glad I decided to give this book a chance. This is a must read for anyone interested in the process of film making. The fact that the author is a sports writer and not involved in the film industry gives the book more authenticity, not less. The journey from script to completed film is told through the eyes of someone seeing it for the first time and not prejudiced by other films.
I read the book first and then saw the movie (on DVD). If you haven't seen the movie, this is the order I would recommend. You'll especially like the DVD extras after reading about the various collaborators in the book. If the "Lady" script had been submitted by a no-name screenwriter, it would never have made it past the script readers. Yet not only did Night get to make a movie based on a weak story idea with a weak script, he got Warner Brothers to put in over a hundred million dollars to film and market it. No matter how talented the actors, the cinematographer, or the director, if it doesn't work on the page it isn't going to work on the screen. This book shows how bad movies get made.
The Man Who Ignored Voices.......2007-04-06
After delivering "Lady in the Water", Shyamalan somehow managed to offend a pubescent American culture that prefers to be the offender. And somehow he did it without any pretentious artistic attempts at being shocking through sex, violence and vulgarity. Kind of ironic that it would take a bedtime story to get under the skin of a society plagued with the Peter Pan syndrome. And then he tops it off by having the audacity to let a biographer tell us how he did it. I mean, the nerve of Shyamalan. Why can't he blow his own horn like everybody else?
But that's what happens when one is an artist truly committed to his art. And instead of taking the usual X-Rated route of cage rattling, Night pulled it off with a PG-13 Rating. Impressive.
But to read this book you realize that he paid the price of the much sought after and coveted title of being "controversial" -- even if that wasn't his goal. In fact, from this book we learn that his intentions were the exact opposite. He was hoping to inspire a hopelessly adolescent culture that is hell-bent on being cynical. Because, you know, cynicism is a worthy accomplishment.
Michael Bamberger, the biogrpaher, seems to be somewhere in the middle of this willingness to be inspired and cynical resistance (He admits to having spotted feelings about "Lady"). This makes him more than just a biographer but also a character in his own story. While Bamberger describes Shyamalans vulnerabilities and strengths in the turbulent ride of artistic rejection and redemption, I couldn't help but wonder about Berbengers feelings while acting as a passenger. And he is a passenger. When someone else is doing the driving and your duty is to watch, you have a heightened sense of doom when the driver is irrational and, at times, reckless. Bamberger all too often becomes the rubber-neck passenger watching the chaos that sometimes zooms past Nights peripheral. For instance, the erratic antics of the Director of Photography often occur when Night has left the room.
There is a palpable doom that soaks these pages. Bamberger knew while shadowing Night that the "Lady" was going to show the darker side of herself. The side of her that was a "B*itch." It comes through vividly when he describes Giamatti's late, albiet enthusiastic, acceptance of the role which threw Shyamalan into a mild panic. And that's just the beginning.
One of the recurring themes that Bamberger picked up from Night and migrated into this book is loneliness. Nights loneliness in the development of his movie is so well documented by Bamberger that it becomes experiential for the reader. You'll find from chapter to chapter how loose the strings really were as Night struggled to keep his often reticent players tied together. It's painful to read, because the very people who doubted Night -- and his script -- happen to be on his side. But this is all proof that Night really is the innovator that cynics and critics wish he wasn't. Innovation is inherently a lonely mans game. And naysayers who lack the courage for innovation are always looking forward to seeing the courageous take a loss in their own game.
I think it's safe to say that these same critics are among the voices chattering away in Nights head. That is why, from this book, we learn that Nights personal journey was not just to make a movie, but to silence those voices by being insubordinate. It takes a genius to be a rebel during the day and tell bedtime stories at night.
The Man Who Heard Razzberries.......2007-03-15
I agree that Bamberger could be the greatest satirist living, if that was his intention. The endless verbal oral sex the author performs on his subject...The abject awe...It is truly hilarious.
It's also true that you'll only enjoy laughing at this road apple of a book IF you didn't pay anything for it, as I didn't.
Let us all hope that in the future, M. Night Shamalamadingdong does NOT listen to the same voices that told him to put out "Lady in the Water," AND this book.
I was looking for just a little more..........2007-01-22
I enjoyed this book, but I admit that as I was nearing the middle of it, I started to lose some interest. It began to tell me that the entertainment business is all the hype, egos, and vanity I thought it was to begin with. And it got a bit boring in parts. My interest came back again at about three quarters of the way through. This may or may not be because that is about the time I watched Lady in the Water on DVD. I so enjoyed the movie... it has a great combination of little laughters, mystery, emotion, and storytelling. There were parts and characters that could have been developed better... I say this after reading the book since I did feel I had a better understanding of the idea behind some characters than the movie portrayed. (This after watching with my husband, who did not read the book... though he liked the movie.)
Interestingly, I think the book's author and Shyamalan are having the same struggles. Both of them have a little trouble getting out of their own way. There are moments when Shyamalan seems to lose it and blame others for his dissatisfactions when making the movie. Bamberger throws in one too many "dude"s and "dig it" type dialogues as well... as if he is trying too hard to portray Shyamalan as an ordinary guy. Paul Giamatti comes across as the wonderful and ordinary guy. Probably because he doesn't think about it, he just is. Shyamalan's reactions to Disney and others seem confusing to me. The folks at Disney did tell him that he could make the movie, yet his attitude was as if they were supposed to treat him like a movie god and not hesitate. In the end it sounds like the movie, the story, could have truly been great if he had gotten out of his own way. He did what he told Cindy Cheung to stop doing... trying too hard and not just letting it happen. It seems like there could have been tremendous gains if the story were kicked around for another year. While I really did enjoy the movie, it could have made the difference from a really good story to an amazing story. I think Shyamalan may have learned from the experience, and as an excellent director, I'm anticipating some amazing movies yet to come in my lifetime.
In recommending this book, it depends on what you want out of it. Definitely a great read if you are interested in moviemaking. Perhaps a learning experience if you are interested in a struggle to do what your own inner voices may be telling you.
On recommending the movie... definitely. Especially if you love magically stories. The look and feel of the movie is well done. Lots of interesting characters. (I loved the Anna Ran and Mr. Drury characters the best.)

Customer Reviews:
Average romance with light suspense with an interesting twist.......2007-06-25
It started with a case of mistaken identity; reclusive novelist TS Harrison sends childhood pal Sam to the JFK airport to meet talk show host Bob. Sam meets Bob's niece Ellen, a professor and aspiring actress who has brought her kids down to the city for the summer to try their luck at auditions. Sam doesn't have a chance to correct the mistake before Bob high tails it on his flight. When Sam and Ellen share a limo ride back to the city, she does something out of character, and gets hot and heavy in the back of the limo with the sexy stranger. When he calls and tries to see her again, she rebuffs him. She figures Sam is another heart breaker like her ex and is not prepared to lose her heart to him.
When Ellen reports threatening mail and phone calls to the police, Sam steps in to investigate (and is surprised to discover that she has children). While Bob may be the intended victim, Sam isn't ruling anyone out, as he protects Ellen's family from a stalker while also trying to prove that he's not such a ladies man after all.
Originally printed in limited as a bonus book in a publisher's special, Brockmann's once shelved story gets full print honors ten years later. Brockmann manages to maintain the secret of both the stalker and his intended victim until the end. It's an average stand alone novel, with some steamy passages, but is lacking in character and plot development like her later work. In fact, the back story of characters Sam and TS sound extremely familiar to Sam Starrett (from her SEAL/Team 16 series) and his childhood pal Noah, who plays a significant role in Brockmann's later novel "Gone Too Far." Maybe she got a chance to flesh "Sam" out after all.
Solid romantic suspense.......2007-03-22
Ellen Layne accompanies her uncle Bob (a famous talk-show host) to the airport to meet an elderly relative whose flight is delayed. To pass the time, she checks out the bookstore--and finds herself checking out a hot younger man there, as well. She's embarrassed when he catches her at it, but he's checking her out, too, and tries to get her telephone number. Ellen is tempted, but she's just in New York with her kids for the summer while she's still recovering from a painful divorce. She doesn't need the complication of a younger man, no matter how charming and alluring. She demurs, but fate throws them together again almost immediately.
Sam Schaefer is at the airport on one of his rare days off doing a favor for an old friend, the famous writer T.S. Harrison. Harrison was in discussions with Bob about writing his biography and had agreed to meet him at the airport without checking his calendar first. Realizing he had a family conflict, he enlisted Sam to fill in for him, resulting in a comical case of mistaken identity that Sam has a difficult time clearing up with Bob and his entourage, including Ellen. Ultimately, Sam ends up sharing a very long, steamy limo ride alone with Ellen. By the time they both reach their respective homes, Sam is determined to see more of Ellen, but Ellen decides she's far too vulnerable to the charms of an experienced ladies' man like Sam to risk losing her heart to him.
Once again, fate intervenes despite Ellen's intentions. When threatening letters and phone calls are sent to Bob's home where Ellen and her kids are staying, the real T.S. Harrison recommends his best friend, NYPD detective Sam Shaefer, to provide protection and identify the increasingly violent stalker. Sam's up for the job, and he's also determined to succeed in convincing Ellen that she's the woman for this ladies' man.
This is a solid 3-1/2 star read (3 stars is a good rating for me) with likeable leads and supporting characters, as well as a believable mystery for added tension. As another reviewer has noted, the book was initially published in 1997, but it stands up well and could easily be mistaken for a 2007 release (except for some issues with current airport security). At just over 200 pages, it's a short book, so there are some missed opportunities for character development and does conclude quickly with a few loose ends. But it is certainly recommended as a quick, enjoyable read--possibly while waiting in the airport.
Just so so.......2007-03-08
I'm usually a fan, but this book seemed to be rushed, not nearly as well developed as her usual products. I found it disappointing.
brockman is always a good read.......2007-01-06
I really liked this cd. Think all her work is not to be missed.
Disappointing.......2006-10-09
This book was written in 1997, before Brockman honed her storytelling skills to the high level they are today. The characters are one-dimensional, the plot simplistic, and the book is just plain boring. There are a few hints of the excellent writer that Brockman will become, but there are not enough of them to make reading this book worthwhile.

Book Description
A New Ladies' Man: Getting the Girl is a book that addresses young men about women and sex in a creative, humorous, comfortable, and informative manner. While researching other books for young men, the author (Colin Mortensen) discovered that most of those books were actually written by older women. A New Ladies' Man: Getting the Girl is a book written by a young man, for young men. The twenty-three-year-old author writes about complex experiences in a language that is incredibly accessible for young men. Guys will relate to Colin's voice and to his stories.
Many young men have nowhere to go for answers about women, relationships, and sex during their formative years. Their friends are clueless and their parents (as nice and informed as they are) are simply from a different generation. In the hands of a young male reader, A New Ladies' Man: Getting the Girl is a wise, funny, compassionate older brother, ready to teach his young bro about women, relationships, sex, and what it means to be a man.
"Older" guys have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy A New Ladies' Man: Getting the Girl as a nostalgic trip back to their young adulthood, as a reminder of the complex nature of young adult life, and as a way to laugh at the common mistakes that ALL men make with women.
A New Ladies' Man: Getting the Girl has been championed by girls and women alike all around the world. The book provides women with a look inside the male psyche: an insight into the minds of men concerning the search for a partner, dating, and sex. Furthermore, with information about female emotional and physical satisfaction, this book is an incredibly important read for women of all ages. Anyone concerned with learning about how women should be treated sexually and emotionally need not look further; A New Ladies' Man: Getting the Girl serves as a perfect gift for any man or woman, on any occasion.
In the author's own words, "I wrote this book because I needed it when I was younger; if somebody would have put A New Ladies' Man in my hands a few years ago, it would have revolutionized my life." The silence has finally been broken.

Getting the girl.......2006-05-13
This is a great manual for older boys suffering from puberty. I'd say 18 and above. I have 2 young boys and I'm saving my copy for them to read when old enough. I thought it was respectful to women and pretty true from the female perspective! Way to go Colin.
Definitely beneficial.......2006-03-27
I began reading this book thinking that it was going to be totally sexist and vulgar. My mind wasn't very open to what I was about to read, but once I started, I found myself laughing and agreeing with a lot of the things that Colin writes. He nails the wants and needs of most women right on the head and even proceeds to explain the ways of women to the average clueless male. The book is a quick and worthwhile read. If you don't find yourself laughing at something on every other page, perhaps you should lighten up and get a sex life. Mad props.
One of the better self improvement books for guys out there........2006-02-09
(Other than the cover posted - mine was much livelier), this book is really pretty good.
Helps guys who lack the confidence to approach and date women on a consistent basis.
Unfortunately this book, like many others in this vein, still hold onto the old saw in providing 'pickup lines' to initiate interest in the opposite sex. Pickup lines, no matter how clever or nuanced, don't work. Why? Because they are usually crude or insulting. Field tested routines are much better to convey the eight components of attraction and showcasing men's best qualities.

Book Description
You'll never hear the truth from your man, so . . . Ladies Listen Up
Diego Christian's trail of deceit follows him all the way to the altar. After ruining the life of the woman he was to marry, he continues to find himself in one casual relationship after another with other men's wives and girlfriends. Through his sex-a-thon he meets a magazine editor who helps him develop his own column—"Ladies Listen Up"—dishing out relationship advice to women. When his behavior finally begins to cost him, Diego has to decide if he can—or wants to—change.
Jacob Marsh, a teacher at Lyndon B. Johnson High School, is Diego's best friend. Jacob has always been cool under pressure and is a master manipulator. When he makes a critical mistake with a student who has a crush on him, he soon learns that covering it up may cost him everything he's worked so hard to keep.
Through their drama-filled trysts, Diego, Jacob, and others give women the lowdown on the way men work.

Can you say Drama???.......2007-02-22
This book held my attention from the beginning to the end. The only problem I had is that I kept getting confused with which character was speaking. At times, it was not really clear. Other than that, this book was good and I hope there will be a sequel.
I Listened.......2006-09-17
In the beginning, this book was a bit difficult for me to follow. The author switched between both main characters so often and came up with such creative names for the chapters that it was hard to tell at times who was speaking. We'd love to think that school teachers wouldn't involve themselves with the likes of Jacob's and Diego's womanizing ways, but the sad reality is I'm sure that there are many teachers out there that can identify with these men from one extent or another--whether it be a high school teacher lusting over one of his students or an elementary school teacher ushering the kids off so he can get "busy" in the classroom. I felt sorry for Jacob at times and really had no respect for him. Diego, on the other hand, well, let's just say the twist in the ending brought a smirk to my face. I would love to read a follow-up and "listen" some more to these brothas.
Wow.......2006-09-12
I always enjoy a book that is willing to go outside the box and discuss matters that are "taboo". And, the character, Jacob, definetly was just that. It was a little difficult for me to read about him because I would like to think grown men aren't like that.....but it is what it is. And things like that are happening everyday. So "big-ups" Mr. Coleman for bringing the subject to light. Other than that, the book was a grade B-/C.
Amazing.......2006-08-05
Darren Coleman has done it again. This novel is nothing short of amazing. It capitavated me from the very first page until the last page. This is an absolute must read.
Nobody does it like Darren Coleman.......2006-07-25
Everytime I read one of Darren Coleman's books I am left with my mouth wide open. From start to finish, Coleman has a unique ability to take you roller coaster ride. This book was even sexier than his previous titles (and they were all hottt!). I won't even lie, this one got me so riled up, at times I had to check the cover to make sure I wasn't reading a Zane title, then at other times I was reminded of a young Eric Jerome Dickey because of the writer's ability to weave fantastic storylines, non-stop action and true to life characters that jumped off the pages.
I love his books because they give us insight as to how men operate, though I hope and pray ALL men aren't represented here. The characters, Diego, Jacob and all the women they loved in between made for an interesting mix, especially Diego's sister-in-law. I literally had this book in my hands for six hours straight and was depressed when the ride was over, wondering what I was going to read next.
If you don't read anything else this year, do yourself a favor and read Ladies Listen Up! I laughed out loud, cringed at times and definitely was shocked and amazed as I read this one. No question, I'm a fan for life and will be waiting on his next one!!!

Improves one's mind.......2004-08-26
"Kissing your hand may make you feel very good but a diamond bracelet lasts forever." So says Lorelei Lee in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes." With the emergence of Lorelei, Anita Loos invented the chick-lit genre as we know it, with witty looks at love, jewelry, and gold-digging in the sparkling 1920s.
"Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" is the diary of Lorelei Lee, a pretty young flapper originally from Little Rock. Since she has managed to get engaged to a married man, and might be hit with a scandal, Lorelei goes overseas. She cuts a gold-digging swathe through Europe, dazzling wealthy men, seeing the "Eyefull" Tower, and recording thoughts both witty and vapid.
Loos followed up her hit novel with "But Gentlemen Prefer Brunettes." The sequel is the story of Lorelei's travelling buddy Dorothy, as told by Lorelei. Dorothy has led a more colorful life -- she started off in the circus before heading to NYC. There, she became a Ziegfield Follies Girl, and then a "companion" to wealthy men.
Anita Loos's "Gentlemen" books first started when Loos encountered a starlet who had men tripping over themselves to help her with her things. Loos was as pretty, as young, and much smarter, but nobody helped her. What was different? Loos was a brunette, and the starlet was a blonde. You do the math.
Loos had a fun, deft sense of humor. She skewered flappers and/or gold-diggers, wealthy men, and the social mores of the 1920s. She also deliberately litters her books with misspellings and run-on sentences, adding to the feeling of overal ditziness. At the same time, her books are such good light fun that they can be read without taking note of the satire.
"Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" gives a wink-nudge look at the flapper era, while giving us the origins of the present-day lite chick-lit genre. Fun, fluffy and amusing.
Utterly entertaining.......2004-06-22
This is a great little book (actually, two books in one). I laughed put loud throughout it and hoped that it would never end. "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" is rightly considered a classic, its sharp and bitingly witty insight is something one never seems to see in a book today (indeed, humour in a book today seems to be rare - sometimes it seems that all new fiction books are depressing and morbid; and if you feel this way too then you should read Loos' clever and refreshing novels). This is a classuc that you will want to read over and over.
Wry, funny and timeless.......2003-09-12
If you appreciate wry humor and satire, wonderfully written, this is the book for you. A quick read that never disappoints. Every gentleman should read this by the time he turns 25.
What a star.......2002-07-03
Which came first, Damon Runyon or Anita Loos? Whatever, this is a brilliant book that gets funnier as Loos hits her stride. By the time she gets to Dorothy's adventures she's well away. It's not just the language and the gags but the concrete observation - Dorothy isn't just discovered sitting in the doorway of Pearl Lo Vino's tent, she's found sitting there watching Pearl crochet a boudoir cap. Writers, take note!
Classic humor!.......2001-06-13
I adored this book! I purchased it because I'd seen both of the movies, but the book is so much wittier! I'd recommend it to anyone with an extremely sophisticated sense of humor, otherwise it would be hard to understand - not for lightweights!

STRICTLY FOR NAPOLEON DYNAMITE TYPES..........2007-01-11
... because seducing true ladies (over 25) requires a certain amount of finesse that most MTVers chugging keggers at the frat house just haven't developed yet... this book was obviously intended for the awkward and inexperienced high school/college mouth-breather who's still trying to score chicks but doesn't have a clue... OK for its intended monkey-slapping readership, but the title is way misleading... pass it along to the closest pubescent-aged kid in your family tree just for yuks.
awesome book!!!.......2006-06-26
this book made me laugh so much. changed my whole perspective on a lot of things, especially about friendship and relationshiops. the book really gets inside a normal guy's head and makes you laugh at yourself. it's a great book. thanks.
Horrible Book!!.......2006-05-13
This book was a complete waste of my money. He gives horrible advice on how to "break the ice" with a woman such as looking across the room at her then sticking your thumb on your nose, wiggling your fingers and making a funny face. Give me a break! After too many ridiculous suggestions and corny jokes, I tossed the book into the garbage where it belongs. Check out other books on this subject or search the internet and you will find much better written resources for learning how to meet women.
Way to go.......2005-12-17
I'm a 19 year old girl, and I thought the book was great, so I know that all the guys out there with questions about themselves, their bodies, and girls will love it. Its funny, its realistic, and well, from a girl's perspective, its all true.
Guys will benefit very much from owning this book. And girls can benefit as well, because there is a lot of insight on how guys think as well! A must-read for everyone!
A perfect mix of humor and advice........2005-12-08
I have shamelessly been a fan of Colin's since his stint on The Real World. After seeing him on the Battle of the Sexes and seeing how hilarious he was, I decided I had to check out his website. Once I learned that he wrote a book, I knew I HAD to have it. So, 2 1/2 years later, I finally had the opportunity to own and read the book, and I fell in love from the moment I opened the cover. I didn't even have to reach the first page of the book to start laughing my head off. The disclaimers are just as hilarious as the material in the book itself. Colin has a great sense of humor that he is able to use for the greater good of the average teenage male. As a 19-year-old woman (yes, this book is for women, too), I read the book and was able to learn how men SHOULD be treating me, and it gave a humorous and interesting insight into what exactly men are thinking. The book is flawless, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's had sex or has ever thought about having sex. Colin is able to do what many people only hope to do: mix humor and advice about a serious subject matter in a clear, cohesive manner. The end result is brilliant and should be read by young men and women alike. It's a great read, and a helpful one.
