Great pictures but hard to manipulate.......2007-08-21
The pictures are lovely... nice and bright, easy to see without being too fussy. However, the cards are too hard to manipulate for little hands and there is an air of impatience about reading the words before getting to see the pictures - with little help given for what could be hidden. Now this could also be considered a good point, but my 18mth old just doesn't really care about what the hidden picture is, and is quite happy to stick his fingers in where the picture comes out from! A bit frustrating but a good idea.
really fun book.......2007-05-08
This is a really, really fun book. My daughter loves pulling the tab when I read on each page, "What am I?" It's a more unique touch and feel book. The textures are different than the usual furry stuff.
Great texture.......2007-03-08
My toddler loves this series but it is difficult for him to manipulate on his own, so some of the pages have been pulled apart. I strongly recommend that you supervise its use.

Very good. I bought this to use my new laptop on the go. Very helpful and easy to use.
Beginner Level Introduction to Using XP.......2005-03-23
Windows XP is, of course, the standard operating system used in most desktop PC's. Lessor known is that special versions of Windows XP have been developed for laptop and tablet PC's. This book is a description of the various versions of XP for use in such systems and how to use the various feature to get the most out of the operating systems. The book is aimed at the absolute beginner, so doesn't go into a lot of detail.
The CD supplied with this book contains far more than usually found on such CD's. This includes:
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP Software
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition software
Windows Media Player 10 software
Tablet PC Edition 2005 Tutorials for Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2
Microsoft Physics Illustrator for Tablet PC toy
Microsoft Office XP Pack for Tablet PC
Microsoft Computer Dictionary
Microsoft Encyclopedia of Security
Complete Step by Step eBook
Links to Windows XP related downloads and additional information
Lacking in content and usefulness.......2005-03-12
While I'm in general a fan of the "step by step" series from MS Press, this book is a big disappointment.
The audience of this book is clearly laptop and tablet beginning users, folks who need a little handholding in getting the most of their hardware. While the book promises a lot -- "set up your own wi-fi!" and "take your laptop to the beach!" -- it falls short in delivering useful guidance. The chapter on wireless is way too short and leaves out all the important details a beginner needs in order to get things set up. Would you believe that the whole write-up on Bluetooth, the most notoriously difficult technology on the planet right now, consists of just two paragraphs?
This thin volume is pretty much a waste of money. If you want to a get-started book on laptops and tablets, check out the "How to do everything" series, or even -- oh, no, I can't believe I'm saying this -- a Dummies book.
Easy to read and follow.......2004-12-05
This is truly a step by step guide to laptops. It was easy to read and has some very helpful hints to improve the usage of my laptops. It sure helps to have Microsoft insiders write a book we can all understand.

With his Royal Navy commission in hand, Richard Delancey is posted to Gibraltar to command the sloop Merlin for convoy protection in the Mediterranean. Overcoming problems with his crew, Delancey quickly proves his mettle during the siege of Valletta and during the battle at Cadiz.

Action in the Mediterranean.......2002-01-20
This is the fourth novel, chronologically, in the Richard DeLancey series. The first, "The Guernseyman," covered the beginning of his career in the Royal Navy. The next two, "Devil to Pay" and "The Fireship," covered his service as a lieutenant. The present novel starts with his promotion to command the sloop Merlin in early 1799 after serving 16 years as a lieutenant. Some officers were promoted due to connections and influence (see Frederick Marryat's "Frank Mildmay or the Naval Officer"), some by surviving and being at the right place when someone was needed (see Frederick Hoffman's "A Sailor of King George"), and some like the fictional DeLancey or Forester's Horatio Hornblower for exceptional action against the enemy.
The Merlin is assigned to dreary convoy duty and carrying dispatches, but eventually sees action with the fleet at Malta in the capture of Valletta (see Showell Styles "The Malta Frigate" for more details about Malta). That is followed by further action and a brief meeting with Commander Lord Cochrane. DeLancey makes a side excursion which takes him to a slave market on the North African coast, before eventually arriving at Gibraltar in time for Rear Admiral Saumarez's attack against the combined French and Spanish fleets in July 1801 (a fictional account of that action will also be found in Patrick O'Brien's "Master and Commander," where he has replaced the real life Cochrane with the fictional Aubrey). Ordered home to England, DeLancey makes a detour for his own profit with some help from his old smuggler friend Sam Carter.
The cover illustration, for unknown reasons, shows what appears to be a single masted cutter which seems to play no part in the story. There are a few technical glitches. The sloop Merlin is described as having 121 men and 24 guns, but later is said to have 9 men in each gun crew.
As an added note, W. P. Gosset's "The Lost Ships of the Royal Navy" shows Commander Lord Cockrane's brig sloop Speedy was captured by the French fleet under Rear Admiral Linois on 3 July 1801, and taken into Algeciras two days before the British attack on the anchored ships on 5 July 1801 during which the Hannibal was lost.
As good as O'Brien, Pope, or Kent. Not to be missed!.......2000-03-31
This is the 3rd book in the Richard Delancy series by Parkinson. I had heard of these books for several years but until recently was not able to obtain one. Most of the action takes place in the Mediterranean Sea in 1799. Delancy, Captain of the sloop HMS Merlin, is sent on several escort missions, and encounters Lord Cochrane and his ship the sloop Speedy. Cochrane tries to enlist his aid in a little ambush of French sloops raiding British commerce...Not as epic in proportion to other books of this genre, but by all means a most excellent read.

Great Book.......2007-05-21
My 2 boys loved this book. They really got into this book at about 1 year of age and still love it (one is 3 now). It has pictures of trucks, cars, boats, motorcycles, tractors, etc. We practice naming the colors and vehicles, as well as talk about what the vehicles do and where they work. Our copy is very worn and I will probably buy another soon.
All around grate book for toddlers!.......2005-12-15
Great all around soft board book for toddlers! It even has a matching photos game in the back. My son loves photos of trucks so this was a perfect gift for him. If your child loves photos of cars, trucks, trains and tractors this is a great pick. It has the most photos of "Things that Go" than any other book I have purchased on the size scale. Great buy if you ask me!

Book Description
Intimacy is so elusive! We yearn for its experience and search for its evidence. We demand its presence and grieve its loss. As intimacy's delicious nature calls to us, we know intuitively that it is the vibration that fulfills life.
The Touch and Go model is based on the principles of new science and the principles of ancient wisdom. It allows for change, safety and communication that do not damage. All of this is held and fed by the background of Spirit.
The purpose of this book is to distinguish the true nature of intimacy and prepare us for its life-altering magic.

A Breath of Fresh Air for Relationships!.......2005-01-29
Judy Borich's book TOUCH AND GO is like a breath of fresh air in the field of interpersonal psychology. I especially love the way energetic fields are described as being the essential basis for understanding interpersonal relationship dynamics. TOUCH AND GO makes it clear how each person has a boundary around their individual energy field, and how there is a boundary around the couple who are in a close relationship... and last but certainly not least there is a boundary in between the two people who are in the relationship. This boundary concept is elegant in its simplicity, and profound in its implications for interpersonal relationship dynamics.
When one comprehends these three basic types of boundaries, it becomes clear that one can only speak for oneself, even if one feels strongly that one's partner should agree. When each person feels secure both in their individuality and freedom to disagree, as well as feeling secure in the relationship... something magnificent becomes possible. Such relationships are capable of bringing out the very best in people. TOUCH AND GO provides exercises and descriptions of how to set boundaries, respect one another's boundaries, resolve conflicts, and meet our relationship needs.
TOUCH AND GO is an essential book for anyone interested in attaining the best possible relationship with another, who is willing to be the best they can be in order to help their relationship be the best it can be.

This is a great read.......2003-09-20
This is the best book I have ever read concerning the nature of intimacy and being in relationship. I am a practicing therapist running a residental treatment facility. This book is a necessary read for both personal and professional growth. I have my staff reading it now.
Lovely and wise.......2003-08-06
Judy's advice to stay out of your partner's choices, to forget about complaining, and to trust that everything is unfolding as it must, is good advice. I am not surprised that the reader who called Judy's teachings "snake oil" is now divorced.
How to achieve joy in your relationships.......2003-01-18
Certainly, Judy does not teach how to "fix" your relationships with others or with yourself. What she teaches is how to proceed through a process of cultivating joy in all relatedness. Anyone who comes to her or reads this book hoping to "fix" things may be disappointed because the need to fix probably means a need to change and grow. I find that what is written in this book is really very practical and has enabled me to understand and move past my own repeated patterns that have led to disappointment in relatedness. I will admit, though, that those patterns have been hard to change, much like addictions, and it has taken some time for me to take responsibility for them. I now have great joy in resonance with others and myself, and better understand how to move from that resonance back to being centered and able to experience resonance once again--a much better pattern than closeness/boredom/anger/blaming!
The best book on intimacy I ever read........2002-10-28
In fact it is one of the best books I ever read. I don't remember how I discovered this book, but I can say that Grace had a hand in my discovery of it. Judy Borich has written a book that is, for me, a gift from the Universe for my life right now. It expresses everything I know is true. All the Wisdom synthesized from the ages is here in this short book. I read it 2 times when I got it and just finished a third reading. Please read this book and share it with your friends. Read it, while listening to Michael Hewett's Being in Dreaming CD. Each are amazing in and of themselves.

. . . or is Alanna the one who’s really on his mind?
Alanna wants Conner back.
He says he wants her back.
But “they” say people like them shouldn’t date each other . . . and she’s starting to wonder if “they’re” right.

Touch and Go.......2003-05-03
I defend Alanna too (see review by Christiana Davis)! Everyone hates her because she "stole" Conner!?! Okay, Conner has a mind of his own. He can do what he wants. Alanna's actually a pretty cool character. She goes through a lot, but all most people can say is that she's an alcoholic who needs to get a life and leave Conner and Liz alone. Alanna's parents annoy me. I don't know how she can put up with them. In this book, Alanna meets Sandy Bieche, a recovering alcoholic (i think). Alanna is worried that she and Conner should not be together since they're recovering alcoholic. Interesting storyline.
Also in this book Andy decides to do Standup comedy at a club. The first time he goes, he bombs, but the second time he did awesome. Alot of the stuff he said was really funny.
Okay, now the Will/Melissa/Aaron/Cherie plot. I like this plot, and i especially like what happened at the end of the book. Melissa sure puts a lot of her time and energy into something like trying to steal Aaron from Cherie.
Overall, a good book. If you like/love Liz and Conner as a couple, and can't stand Alanna then maybe this isn't the book for you.
STUPID.......2003-04-07
I really don't like Conner and Alanna together. First of all, he's in love with Liz. Second of all, Alanna is a deranged alcoholic who needs to get a life. Third of all, it wa LIZ who saved Conner's life, LIZ LIZ LIZ! Alanna would never save anyone but herself and she can't even do that. Yes, she has alcoholic parents, but so do I and I don't go around drinking booze to make my life better and clinging to people or in this case, pushing someone away! She's also a compulsive liar, too. About Melissa, Will and Aaron - please. It is so old. Melissa and Will belong together (evil beings they are) so just let them be! Andy is a stud! (had to say that). Oh yeah, to lalenalefay , I'm sorry but it mentions Trent to be a bald African-American in the 4th or 5th book! I remember Jeremy clearly describing his best friend in one of those. So no, he does not have long hair. And Tia doesn't only go for black guys. She used to have a crush on Josh Radinsky and she had a "thing" for Conner, the beginning of many probs in his and Liz's relationship! Maybe you should reread the books again, okay? Pleasant reading, all! And LIZ AND CONNER FOREVER! That's all I'm gonna say...
I DEFEND ALANNA!!!!.......2002-09-12
Sorry to....well actually I am NOT sorry to say that I liked this book and that it was good. Im not ashamed to say that I love Connor & Alanna as a couple I think their perfect for each other! I never cared for the "Elizabeth&Connor" thing. But what Im starting to notice is the reason why ppl dont like Alanna is because she messed up the whole "elizabeth&Connor" situation and they dont want to believe that Connor's over it and moved on.....
I love Alanna's character b/c shes not perfect she has problems and dont get over em in a few weeks! She is one of the realest characters that I've read in this series. Ppl say they dont like her storylines b/c she whines to muchbut umm ok her parents are alchoholics and SHES a recovering alchoholic. Of course she receives no love from home so she gets it from her boyfriend who just so happens to be hot...hott...hottt! But on the other hand she's always finding him in the arms of the ex.blonde! So I guess you must expect her to put a smile on her face at every problem that comes up, right.....hmmmmmm? Doesnt seem so realistic to me. !Think about it! But anyway to sum the book up... Alanna is worried about her relationship with Connor b/c everyone thinks its worng, Andy thinks he's a non achiever so they push him to do stand up comedy, and Melissa schemes take a bad turn...
Oh and to alenalefay You said something about Trent and his race and that he had...long hair? No correct me if Im wrong but I remember in the book that Trent was pretty much bald and African American. I dont think Tia has centered on one race. She had a thing going with Connor and right she had "feelings" for Andy once upon a time? No I think Tia isnt closeminded which makes her such a good character to read about! Well anyway sorry if I preached to much....it wont happen again trust me! Happy reading!
All About Alanna.......2002-08-01
Basically, the whole book is about Alanna being insecure about her relationship with Conner. She thinks it might not work out between them because they were both alchoholics. If you ask me, Alanna worries too much. This wasn't the best Senior Year book but I gave it 5 stars anyway because it's still really good. But the whole thing is basically Alanna obsessing over whether it will work out with Conner.
Okay.......2002-07-26
This book was only okay. About the cover models; They are different and I dont like them as well either as some of the other people mentioned. But to lalenalefay, they did mention that Trent was black and never said anything about him having long hair. I dont think the new Conner's as cute as the other one but I don't think he's ugly. Anyway about the book. Alanna and Connor fight and get back together. The usual. Andy tries stand-up comedy again. The only interesting part is the Melissa going after Aaron to make Will and Cherie mad. And that blows up in her face. I had to force myself to get through this book. I hate stories about Alanna so much. The books were so much better when Liz and Conner were together or even when they were apart and Alanna wasn't there. I like the books to focus more on the twins which they don't seem to be doing lately. The only reason I rated this a 4 was because I love the series. I was sorta disappointed in this book but hopefully the next one will be better.
