Toltec Revisited?.......2007-09-30
I enjoyed this book immensely. What really captured my attention were the experiential exercises Mr. Wilde use throughout the book. In using these methods myself, a significant shift took place in my awareness. While the author does not use the word Toltec anywhere in his book, attributing these practices instead to occult bodies in European mystery schools, I see no significant differences between these practices and those offered in Toltec philosophy found in the work of Castaneda, Eagle Feather, and Mares, to name a few. It would be interesting to get the authors view on this confluence between apparently different systems which produce similar existential states of awareness in those who use these methods.
These types of spiritual development books (for the lack of a better word) may be shifting human consciousness in untold ways. Wilde, for example, often uses the concept of detachment as a method of spiritual awareness, i.e., not being hooked into some one else's drama. In Toltec philosophy the same concept is called, "losing self-importance."
For anyone attempting to grow spiritually and shift the dream, I highly recommend this book. Don't get too encumbered by the concepts which are difficult to follow or to substantiate via reason; the aim is to engage the practices and see where they take you. Herein the purpose of the book methinks.
Great Information.......2007-04-22
This book is highly recommended. It contains information on the etheric non-world, turbo thoughts, invisibility and much much more. Lots to learn from this one.
Genius in, genius out.......2006-06-28
The book speaks for itself. You don't have to understand it. It's not a tragedy if one does not. However, when one indicts Mr. Wilde for using pseudoscience when referring to the earth's resonating frequency, well--for that reviewer, please look up the term SCHUMANN RESONANCE. It is a defined construct of physics. It's funny that when some nit wit doesn't understand the world, that nit wit makes fun of somebody who does. So, in that sense, in terms of the intellectual underpinnings of that reviewer's critique--"garbage in, garbage out."
Early Wilde, Wild and Wonderful.......2005-03-26
As another reviewer noted, one oughtn't place too much stock in Stuie's scientific claims--but of course after a some time on the "spiritual path" one finds that science is merely another religion, so what's the difference? All that aside, the reader will find a wealth of great advice for day to day living and aetheric adventures, as well as a number of amusing anecdotes all in the author's characteristically bombastic style. There are many practical exercises for building aetheric skills. Mr. Wilde has lived a fascinating life and has done a marvellous job seeing the infinite shine through his experiences. My rating lacks a star only because he seems to approach immortality in the usual, worn-out, after-death fashion, despite his extraordinary approach to other areas of existence. Open your eyes, Stuart! Any road, buy this book! It's one of my favourite SW works, and I have six!
Essential........2004-09-21
I think everyone should have a copy of this book. Considering the changes and personal evolution you may be experiencing, having brought you to the presence of this review, I must say that this book is essential and will provide much empathy and answer many questions. It's a quick read and keeps you entranced the whole way through. My Wiccan elder priestess recommended it to me.. it's not necessarily Pagan, but certainly embodies concepts, philosophies and realizations encompassing all positive spiritual paths. Take my word for it!
Blessings,
OakRaven

Wyl Thirsk, former general of the Morgravian army and bearer of the curse known as Myrren's gift, is running out of time. Marriage between his beloved Queen Valentyna and his sworn enemy, the despotic King Celimus, is imminent; yet, despite the impending nuptials, war looms between the two nations, while the threat from the Mountain Kingdom grows stronger. Trapped in a body not his own, with his friends and supporters scattered throughout the realm, Wyl is as desperate to prevent the wedding as he is to end Myrren's ""gift"" -- a magic that will cease only when he assumes the throne of Morgravia.
Clinging to an ominous suggestion from his young friend Fynch, an increasingly powerful mage, Wyl must walk his most dangerous path yet -- straight into the brutal clutches of Celimus in a desperate attempt to save his nation, his love, and himself.

Interesting finish!.......2006-10-11
I loved the first book, was still fascinated by the second book, but by the start of the third book I thought I know what to expect. After all, Wyl Stark had the curse of Myrren's Gift, which caused him to switch bodies with whomever kills him. Crazy twists had already happened because of this. I assumed more would. But the ending had to be predictable, right? I mean, all he had to do was get killed by the evil King Celimus who was to marry Wyl's true love, Valentyna, and all would be right, yes? NOOOO! It turns out that the curse/Gift may not work if Wyl intentionally gets himself killed by someone (although what about that time...??? Well, I don't want to spoil the book, but it's not a huge plot-hole since they really didn't know everything about the Gift, so that may be wrong). The problem is that Wyl is certain that he could not stand to be Celimus, no matter if he does get his dream girl and a chance to live happily ever after. He knows he absorbs a bit of the personaility/life of the bodies he inhabits and the idea of being THAT close with Celimus just is too much for him. One wants to yell and scream at him, of course. But it does make the ending a bit more interesting!!! If he refuses to continue living if he becomes Celimus, then what? Well, you'll have to read and see! --I found my interest almost petering a bit by the third book, but I still thought it very much worth the read. I enjoyed the characters and didn't think they were that two-dimensional. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the body-swapping. I like all the threads being wrapped up, even if they were a bit too neatly done for true belief (some deus ex machina involved!). I have read hundreds of books and most are enjoyable but difficult to remember after a while, but despite a few flaws, this trilogy was still striking and an adventure to read.
Good but no classic.......2006-07-25
It is amazing to me that a series as full of holes and inconsistancies as this one can still be not only enjoyable, but gripping. I didn't see the main premise of the story-line coming and was interested to know what would happen to the main character. That said, I feel the characters were rather black and white in either evil or goodness, characters' emotions were not explored in enough detail, the author did not make use of her own smoking guns and she seemed to consistantly forget that her characters had been told something the chapter before and set them up in the next chapter as if they had never been told. This is good but will never be a classic.
Bridge of Souls : The Quickening Book Three .......2006-06-26
An excellent series and a very satisfying ending. McIntosh is excellent at fresh, inovative ideas and wonderful plot twists. A real joy to read.
fabulous epic fantasy .......2006-03-17
Though he wishes he could go back to before when he was a general in the Morgravian army, Wyl Thirsk courageously continues to live with his "gift" of life granted to him by the now late Myrren the witch. Myrren's "gift" is a spell that propels his spirit to occupy the body of anyone who murders him.
Currently Wyl resides in the body of his sister Ylena while he continues his quest to kill King Celimus of Morgravia with a secondary objective to thwart the monarch's intention to marry Queen Valentyna of neighboring Briavel. Meanwhile Myrren's late father Elysius before turning to dust "assigned" young Fynch "mentored" by Knave the dog to annihilate the malevolent magician Rashlyn. These two quests will soon link up leaving a depressed Wyl and unconfident Fynch in mortal danger from two evil abominations, but failure leaves their countrymen at risk.
BRIDGE OF SOULS, the final bodysnatching tale in the Quickening trilogy (see MYRREN'S GIFT and BLOOD AND MEMORY) is a fabulous epic fantasy that grips fans of Fiona McIntosh from the moment the boy magician Fynch and Knave communicate. The story line never slows until the final confrontation between good and evil. Though it is better to have read the previous tales to understand how things progressed to the bridge of no return, epic fantasy readers will appreciate the action-packed climax as Wyl tries to save the people of his nation and those of the neighboring country as well as the woman he loves in a desperate final gamut.

Good Ending.......2006-03-15
I waited with baited breath when I ordered this book. Now that I received it I devoured it in three days. What an exilerating ending to a great series. To finally gain retribution on the one who killed him was very satisfying. Great book and hope Fiona comes out with more.
If you like books like this one, might I suggest another I've recently come across. The Unsuspecting Mage by Brian S. Pratt. It's another fantasy adventure sure to please. I highly recommend it.
Book Description
For the sake of an imperiled kingdom, the line between "traitor" and "savior" must blur . . . and vanish.
Though barely a teenager, Wyl Thirsk must now assume the role he has been destined for since birth: commander of the Morgravian army -- an awesome responsibility that calls him to the royal palace of the crown prince Celimus. Already a cruel despot who delights in the suffering of others, Celimus enjoys forcing his new general to witness his depraved "entertainments." But a kindness to a condemned witch in her final, agonizing hours earns young Thirsk a miraculous bequest, while inflaming the wrath of his liege lord.
With war looming in the north, Wyl must obey Celimus's treacherous dictates and undertake a suicidal journey to an enemy court -- armed with a mysterious power that could prove both boon and curse. For unless he accepts Myrren's gift, it will surely destroy him . . . and the land he must defend.

Jumpy Start for a Series.......2007-10-08
It started out with potential, but started skipping around. After the Gift makes it's appearance, things went downhill from there. He blunders into situations, especially with the dog's seemingly mysterious appearing out of nowhere to help Wyl, and Wyl's convenient ability to tap into Romen's natural inclinations and memories(personally I would have been considerably more interested in the conflict created from adapting to a new body without that), and I never feel like the main character is in any danger despite attempts on the contrary.
Then there's the traps no idiot should fall into(good thing he's not leading the Legion any more, frankly), not heeding of obvious warnings...one must take a break to facepalm occasionally. The choices made seem to be for no other reason than to quickly move the story on or reveal some sort of exposition.
The romance is one of love-on-first-sight, but I imagine it will drag on until the end of the series as if the couple will cease existing once they admit those three words.
Both villains and good guys are one-dimensional. Anyone who is not inevitably dies. This tends to make both bad guys and good guys rather unlikable, especially as they both prefer complex solutions to simple ones that would have worked just as well or better.
Literary Conceit.......2007-09-23
As a self-confessed book-worm, I manage to make it through many books a year. So far, at a rough estimate, I'm sitting at about 35 books read so far this year. I might be a few more, but I don't actually count.
In addition to my love of books, is my passion for the fantasy genre, and that is where I find myself reading the most. I love fantasy; the ability to leave this reality where greenhouse gasses are eventually going to rob us of a healthy planet, and move in to a world solvable by wielding a sword.
But as with any genre - whether it be in books, comics, movies, etc - there are times when you can take it too far.
The word for this is 'conceit' - and I believe it to be the point at which you step too far, hoping that your readers will step with you regardless.
I just finished reading Fiona McIntosh's Myrren's Gift - the first in a trilogy of books entitled The Quickening. For much of the book, I was enamored by the storyline, and was caught up in how she wielded the elements of fantasy and the use of her characters.
However reaching the end of a book, which is essentially a fantastical view at body-switching, I found that I was utterly disappointed by her hope that we would simply follow her down the path she had written for herself.
I won't spoil the book for anyone, but loosely, you can take body-swapping too far. In fact, you can take it too far and then three steps further, and I believe this is what McIntosh has done. She has laid out our feet, a storyline that asks us to ignore the sheer reality of a person's life, and natural instincts. So brave and full of chivalry or pride, they apparently step away from humanity and in to some 'heroic' stage that I thought only J.K. Rowling had gifted upon young Harry.
Now let me say this as a disclaimer. I have no doubt that in times of brief stress or trial, decisions may be made that would not have been made at other times. However, when they happen time after time, to the detriment of the story and the character, it depresses me.
In addition, she falls prey to a literary theme that seems to permeate fantasy novels; the blind rage that will lead to the ruination of a blossoming romance. It seems that most fantasy authors have very unfulfilled love lives, and are unable to allow anyone they write a successful romance. They fall prey to 'The Nanny' syndrome; ie, not allowing the fulfillment of a relationship until they are willing to cancel the series (as was the case for Max and Fran).
Those of us reading fantasy books are not looking for a romance book, but we are looking for human reality amidst the trolls and unicorns. You're allowed to have a successful romance within the first book, and not have to stave off romantic fulfillment till the last 37 pages of your third book!
I thank the stars that I managed to obtain the next three books in Isobelle Carmody's Obernewtyn series, so that I have something to move straight on to to forget this unsavory experience.
Whether I will finish off her series, or move on to other works by McIntosh, is yet to be seen, and will be most quickly judged when I have money (and have probably finished reading Obernewtyn and Simon R. Green's books). But to all those who are current or aspiring authors, please, don't treat us as blind loyal fans like Apple do their fanboys. Give us some credit!

Quickening Trilogy.......2007-06-10
This trilogy I read in one summer. I loved them so much. There were so many plot twists and the writing style of Fiona McIntosh is incredible. She brings you into the story like no other. If you love fantasy, murder, mayhem, betrayl, and romance then hands down you will love the Quickening Trilogya and her new series: the Percheron Saga. Read the books, they're unbelievable and will keep you guessing until the last page.
Not very Good.......2007-05-24
I read about 3/4 of this book and just couldn't bring myself to finish it. The story had promise but the author jumped around too much from one thing to another. The dialog was also not on par with most fantasy books I have read, often sounding forced. I have read worse but I have also read much better, my suggestion if you are into fantasy find another author, Terry Brooks, Raymond Feist, or James Clemens are usually a good bet.
Epic Style Adventure.......2007-04-16
I really couldn't put this book down. I read until the wee hours of the morning. This is a true trilogy, while things will get wrapped up, the package isn't always neat. It is true that some very harsh things happen to the main character the author isn't playing favorites, harsh things happen to a lot of the characters. Good things don't always happen to good people. I liked the fact that I couldn't predict how the author was going to resolve things.
Book Description
To save two kingdoms from a despot's rule, one man must journey into the unknown, seeking answers to the strange and powerful secret that so plagues him.
Wyl Thirsk, loyal soldier of Morgravia, has seen his best friend slain, his sister tortured, and his mentor sent to certain death, all at the hands of his sovereign, the cruel and manipulative King Celimus. Now Celimus, believing himself to be rid of the "moral constraints" of the Thirsk influence, has turned his greedy eye to expansion ... and Morgravia's neighboring kingdom, ruled by the spirited but inexperienced Queen Valentyna. As Celimus pressures Valentyna into a doomed political marriage, Wyl endeavors desperately to preserve both the honor of his country and the freedom of the woman he loves.
But fate has other plans for him. Despite his friends and loved ones becoming increasingly tangled in the evil machinations of King Celimus, though war with the dread Northern Kingdom appears imminent and Valentyna is poised to succumb to Morgravia's oily rule, Wyl must leave behind all he knows and cares about and travel into the land from which none return, seeking out the bestower of Myrren's sinister gift.

decent ideas, bad writing.......2007-07-07
My history teacher in high school had a word she wrote in red ink on my essays when she knew I wasn't writing to the best of my ability: trite!
The author needs a "trite" in red ink on every page. Maybe it was testament to McIntosh's storyline that I finished the book (as well as book 1--although I won't be continuing on to book 3). The premise (a murder victim cursed to possess the body of his killer) is interesting. Ultimately, the trite (I'll use it again) writing style completely hampers any development of this idea whatsoever. I could say that this should be filed under Young Adult, but young adults are going to English class every day and would also be writing in red ink in the margins. It was a sad (but easy) decision to abandon the characters in this series and forego reading the third book. If book 3 is anything like the first two, I'm sure I won't be missing much character development.
Epic Style Adventure.......2007-04-16
This is a true Trilogy, while things will get wrapped up, the package isn't always neat. Some very harsh things happen to the main character. So I disagree with one reviewer who thought it was a light read. I liked the fact that I couldn't predict how the author was going to resolve things.
Facinating Tale Continues.......2006-09-14
The magic of Myrren's Gift has saved Wyl Thirsk's life again, although not his body... He finds himself now in the body of the female assasin who has killed the last body he inhabited, that of Romen Koreldy. Wyl still needs to try and protect his sister from the evil king Celimus. He also needs to find a way to protect his love, the Queen of Briavel, from having to marry Celimus. Plus find a way to rescue his friends from the northern kingdom. ... And he needs to find out what is behind Myrren's strange gift to him by finding her mysterious father.
Surrounded by an assortment of interesting characters, Wyl proceeds in his various quests--ultimately to save the kingdom he loves from destruction.
Several questions are answered, but many more remain, and I eagerly look forward to reading the next book.
Easy, quick, read not requiring much thought.......2006-08-18
Blood and Memory is a quick, uncomplicated read. Although it is predicable and the characters are often derivative, there are some cute/interesting parts, and it is well written. I got my copy used and was happy with it compared to what I paid for it. I'm not sure it is worth $7.99 and the trade price is to high.
Promise of book 1 dies horrible agonizing death........2006-06-24
The first book in this trilogy started well with interesting charecters, new ideas for motivating the protagonist, and at least a semi-original plot tool. Every ounce of potential is ruined by this second book. Both the hero and villain become as one dimensional as the paper they are printed on. All characters in the book become both blindingly intuitive and amazingly dense depending on what the author needed for an outcome in a given scene. Someone who can spot a certain trap from miles off in one scene mindlessly falls victim to a second trap in another. The unique plot tool is used once to achieve something that could have been profound or at least interesting but the way the scene is contrived to use it is so ludicrous that it spoils the effect. One can hope that her next book will avoid these pitfalls but this one is doomed to garage sales and remainder piles.
Book Description
Winner of the 2006 COVR Award for Visionary Fiction Most people see the Travelers as a ragged bunch of musicians, artists, and fortunetellers crossing the country in an old double-decker bus, but these magical creatures are actually the Sídhe, the Fair Folk, an ageless, magical race bringing the light of the ancient mysteries to those who are lost.
On an unforgettable night of murder and mayhem, Kathryn meets the Travelers and awakens to her true Fey nature. She and her witchy friend Merrin help the Sídhe find the ones responsible for the bombs, fires, and terror wreaked on the Southside of New Rathmore. Can Hunter and the Sídhe rescue Robin before the young god becomes another casualty of this twisted "Inquisition?"

The Magic Was Lost.......2006-05-24
As a fan of Ly de Angeles non fictional work I was delighted to learn of her new book, The Quickening. I couldn't have been more disappointed.
I found the plot of this book to be almost incoherent with mini stories loosely tied together in what amounted to tedious chaos. The ill developed characters were equally overly heroic or overly villainous, all sporting chips on their shoulders the size of Texas. It is clear that Ly de Angeles was attempting to bring the Sidhe, the Tuatha de Danann into every day life for us, and that is commendable, but all she achieved was to make them look common and washed out. The magic was lost.
Ly de Angeles is capable of far more. Some of her work is visionary & extraordinary but this is not one of them.
No Ordinary Read.......2005-10-15
The Quickening is no ordinary story and those who are after a quick feel-good read may well be left confused and jaded. The Quickening is a journey inward, a holding up of the mirror, and a connection with the Gods in a modern setting. The lessons and statements are deeply woven into the storyline. Enjoyment and understanding will be greatly increased by having first read "When I See The Wild God", which introduces many of the characters and the concepts therein.
May I suggest that when you embark upon this read, that you cast aside the concept of reading for entertainment, and embrace the concept of looking into the depths of a sacred well.
A highly recommended read for witches, seekers and pagans.
The Quickening.......2005-10-15
This book is far the best I have read for a long time. This book is a tale savoured and not to be gulped down in one mouthful without thought or if your are lucky discussion. It is to be read as a modern "myth" (in the truest sense of the word) rather than a simple yarn to wile away the hours. The journey these travellers are on takes us beyond ourselves and into the other realms.
The travellers take those lost or in search of their higher selves and weaves them into their true being. The ravens awaken ones knowing that not all is what it appears. And helps us to remember, what we may have long forgotten.
As an aside, as this child is the Son of the Deithe and a small God himself what is there truly to fear?
I would not hesitate to recommend this book to all in search of the spiritual and the ability to open themselves up to the Worlds that are. This books gifts me with purpose and will always stay with me
The best part of this book is the back cover text.......2005-08-21
Amazon recommended this book because I rated both William Gibson and Mercedes Lackey books highly. This has some of the same subject matter but lacks the beautiful prose and compelling stories of those authors. The back cover blurb was appealing but the novel does not hold up. This reads less like a novel than like detailed notes or an outline for a novel. The author describes the story elements and characters in great detail but does not actually tell a coherent story. It is choppy with too many people and too much stuff to be fitted into 270 pages. The Quickening is a semi random collection of characters and plot points, with some preaching about the despoiling of the environment and a few nasty violent bits tossed in. Almost everyone but the Ravens(birds) is abused, deceitful, evil or passive beyond belief. Most of the characters show very little emotion or interconnection. They often behave in ways that are out of touch even for fantasy. When a good friend has a child kidnapped by the villains minions would anyone human or Sidhe be back at the house having a party? Would anyone tell the victims mother to "calm down we'd know if he were dead"? There are occasional parts that briefly come to life. The author tells about the events and people but never really draws you into the story. The Author did tie up some seemingly unconnected bits at the end but it was too little too late.
Book Description
Mallove reflects on the awesome prospect that intelligent life may play a significant role in the destiny of the universe. He speculates about well-founded cosmological theory that life may ultimately transform the universe for its own designs, just as it has already gained planet-wide control of the terrestrial biosphere. The Quickening Universe is a reflective scientific tour of the marvelously inventive cosmos that has come to life - quickened - and is now examining itself to discover meanings in its origins and destiny. This is an informed and poetic synthesis of scientific wonders that endlessly provoke our imagination: a probably infinite cosmos that emerged about 15 billion years ago from perhaps absolute nothingness; the unfathomable sense in which the laws of physics seem to "ordain" life - not a particular kind of life but organized complexity; eons of evolution that have led to beings here (and almost certainly in many other places) who can perceive beautiful laws of physics and mathematics and who have an equivalent thirst for artistic beauty; the staggering realization that the universe does not "know" its own state of being at the level of the quantum microcosm; and the supreme enigma, the grand illusion of time.
Book Description
We all need a little romance in our lives. Romance doesn't usually just happen, and so we all need a gentle reminder of how to rekindle the spark of romance.
- Call each other in the middle of the day just to say, "Hello, I love you."
- Remember that if it matters to your mate, it should matter to you.
- Count your blessings and start with each other.
- Have a beautiful flower arrangement awaiting your loved one after a long separation.
In addition, this charming book tells stories of the most romantic things ever done, secrets of building a long and happy marriage, and romantic thoughts from the world's greatest literature. The goal of this book is to make the world just a bit more romantic, one couple at a time.

Inspiring .......2006-10-08
This is a very inspiring and revealing book. Dr. Hurtuk has accomplished whatever it is he was set out to do. However the usefulness of these words from Enoch and others, I doubt. It seems highly doubtful that the good Dr. could have an experience such as he states and return to this dimension and time frame feeling at all comfortable about being here.
I am not ignorant when it comes to siritual experiences and do not claim that I have ever had anything this astounding happen to me; I haven't. However I have experienced the " flash of light" this does bring one into knowledge directly given within, and though it was not new to the outer world, it was to me, and was accurate.
But for what it is worth, I think this book is priced to high. You can purchase this book through The Academy For Future Science, the price is fifty dollars plus tax.
I do agree with Mr. Thorpe! In these days we need information that we can test for ourselves. We need confirmation within our own spirit of these truths or writings, whether they are of Dr. Hurtuks or someone else.
Good reading to all who purchase this book. May you find what you are searching for. Love Is the Goal!
How to get the book cheaper.......2006-06-07
You can buy the book from JJ Hurtak's website directly, at about half the cost these bozos are charging. Thought I'd point it out to you if you're really interested in it. www.keysofenoch.org/html/books.html
This text and what it expresses is definitly worth everything you are willing to put into it.......2006-02-11
This book is a wonderful teaching. When I first started trying to read this book, I understood what is meant by ' It is difficult at first to swim in a big ocean' for it was difficult to understand, but it was evident that there is something very worthwile beyond the text printed on the page, and so i kept swimming through its pages describing the unification of the world's religion's and language systems, how the divine name of God, YHWH is embedded in the DNA code, and so much more . And after working with it for only almost a year, it is clear that this text is of very high integrity and of a great loving intent of the author and of those who inspired it. I would suggest this book for anyone who feels drawn to it. It is MORE than worth the money(by the way, i suggest you get it from the website www.keysofenoch.org). This text is of great importance, and has impacted my life permamently.
Blessings, Michael
the answers I have been looking for all my life.......2005-09-22
this is just an amazing book, although not like any other i have read.
I was told this is a book of conciousness and it is I just sit for a moment and centre on myself and ask for todays lesson and the book will open to the area i need to study.
I now know why the christens don't like this book as it has all the missing knoweledge that has been hidden from us by main stream religion I am standing in my own light and power once again.
Compelling, but..........2004-11-28
Either `The Keys of Enoch' is way too deep for my current level of understanding, or it's just a bunch of new-age mumbo-jumbo mixed in with some scientific jargon and the claim of divine revelation to make it sound legitimate. One of the Keys reads:
"The Keys to future luminaries tells us that molecular biology will reveal that molecular changes in enzymes change with the Arch of Light Patterns which are "Living Grid Mechanisms" aligned with polarization focus over the third eye."
Without commenting on how ridiculous that sounds, my main question is, even if on some level this is all legitimate information, what exactly are we supposed to do with it? The book if full of very interesting metaphors, images and interpretations, but in the end it asks us to accept the information as revealed truth. Many great spiritual books use images and metaphors in order to teach us lessons on different levels. We are rarely asked to accept the stories as literally true. This, like much of the channeled work out there, asks us to do the almost impossible: take the information it presents at face value. But even if we do, then what?
It's much like the Book of Revelations. There are many ways of interpreting it, but none of the interpretations leave you edified in the same way as the Gospels do. All you end up with are a bunch of thoughts about what might happen in the future.
If someone can understand the Keys and put them to use, then this book may be a revelation of great importance. The way I see it, if I can't verify the information in a book through my own experience, it's worthless to me. Whether it's because I'm not ready for that information yet or because it's a bunch of crap someone made up to sell books doesn't matter as much as the fact itself.
While I found this book interesting, I don't understand people raving about books that they themselves can't even begin to comprehend. I prefer reading the works of Sri Aurobindo, A. H. Almaas, or especially Ram Dass or Sai Baba; these are works that actually deal with emotional and spiritual transformation of the self. The truth about what is out there isn't nearly as important as the truth which we all must strive to become. This is the only thing we can really know and the only thing truly worth pursuing.

Book Description
A young man is brutally ripped apart in a vacation cabin. His girlfriend turns up dead a week later. And the local police are frightened by the way she was tortured and murdered. Former Philadelphia cop Derek Sanderson is assigned what looks like a simple murder, until he gets the autopsy report back and realizes he is chasing a faceless monster who will stop at nothing to satisfy his twisted needs. Sanderson is the only cop who can see the one simple clue the serial killer leaves behind. But he is used to doing things his way and bending as many rules as possible to get his job done. This time his impulsiveness may backfire on him and not only leave him out in the cold but also leave a clear path for the killer to take away someone he is very close to. The Quickening is a heart-stopping thriller that will keep you turning the pages, as Sanderson unveils one desperate clue after another. In a bone-chilling finale, that will have you checking the locks on your doors, Sanderson must track down the madman before it is too late.

Positively wonderful!!.......2001-06-23
I won't go into the story line because you need to purchase this book for your collection. It is probably the scariest book I've read in a long time. Stephen Brady has shown himself to be a powerful writer and I can't wait to see what else will come from him. Kudos to Mr. Brady for scoring a hit with this first novel.
I'm afraid of the dark NOW!.......2001-02-17
After reading this book I am not able to turn the light out to sleep. This is like Mary Higgins Clark with a evil, evil twist. I loved it!!!! I hope this book has a sequel.
Suspense and Drama..better than Cornwall........2000-11-13
This book got me hooked from the word go! It has action, drama, mystery, suspense...a true cutting edge novel. Brady's characters are lifelike and often times pure psychos!! This is a must read for anyone looking for a new author, who doesn't give you cookie cutter novels, just pure talent.
