This alternative-medicine self-help guide promises to teach you to help heal yourself and others using the body's own natural energies. Building on such diverse concepts as acupuncture and therapeutic touch, Donna Eden lays out a practical framework in Energy Medicine for flushing out and recharging the body's systems.
"This book will show you how to work with the electromagnetic and more subtle energies that give your body life," Eden writes, along with her husband, psychologist David Feinstein. "These energies form the foundation of your health."
For instance, if your head aches or feels clouded, energy may be stagnating there, so do the "crown pull" to release it. The book gives a detailed description of how to do this and other energy-fixing exercises, and provides time estimates and illustrations for doing the maneuvers.
Eden, who has practiced energy medicine for more than 20 years and has given classes around the world, also relates stories about some of her clients, including those with cancer and chronic pain. While Eden says people can help themselves and others with the techniques in the book, she urges them to seek professional care as well.
Energy Medicine includes chapters on various energy systems, ranging from the meridians to the chakras, the basic grid to the strange flows, and chapters on how such systems relate to pain and illness. It also includes an appendix listing organizations and Internet sites for other forms of alternative medicine, like naturopathy and qigong. The book is a useful guide for people interested in this form of alternative healing.
Book Description
The first practical guide to using energy medicine to improve physical vitality, emotional health, and mental acuity.
"Even the most hard-nosed doctor will admit that some people have a healing presence that makes us--and our immune system--better than before. Donna Eden is one of those rare healers."--Gloria Steinem
World-renowned healer Donna Eden is able to literally see the body's energy keypoints and meridians. In Energy Medicine, she tells readers how they, too, can visualize these energy systems, determine the causes of physical and psychological problems based on the state of these energies, and devise highly effective treatments to remedy specific ailments and injuries. This is the only interactive guide that shows how you can work with energy to strengthen the immune, circulatory, lymphatic, and respiratory systems; alleviate pain, emotional stress, and depression; and improve memory and learning skills.
In health conferences throughout the world, Eden consistently exhilarates and amazes her audiences. Blending intuitive genius with a profound grasp of how the body functions as an energy system, Donna Eden's unique approach to energy medicine integrates Eastern, Celtic, and Western healing arts.

Donna Eden - Excellent!.......2007-09-16
Donna Eden is indeed the 'guru' of Energy Medicine. I purchased her book a couple of years ago and then bought this for a friend. Intelligently written, easily understood, and proves without a doubt that energy is very real. Donna Eden is wonderful and her techniques are life changing.
Outstanding Overview of Energy Medicine Techniques.......2007-09-02
How I wish I could see energy as Donna does! This is a facinating book for those of us who are learning more about energy work and healing. I ordered a copy for someone who is a long-time energy healer. She said, "I LOVE this book! It's reminded me of things I'd forgotten and given me more techniques to use in ways I hadn't done before." This is an excellent collection of enery methods, and it's well written.
Most Practical Easy to Understand Energy Guide Ever.......2007-07-07
Im extreemly new to Energy healing and found Donna's book my mistake over at Barnes & Noble. Skimming through the pages, I was so impressed, because Donna lays out the information in such an easy fun way, that anyone can really learn the exercises- even kids. The book is very practical. As a newbie who is learning these things, I reccommend it for everyone and plan to use this book as my permanent reference book for life.
Pump up your energy!.......2007-07-07

You just don't get it.......2007-09-11
I read all the bad reviews and this is my answer to them. Why should I care about these characters? Because these characters are you and all the people in your boring insignificant life, why should we care about you?
Why is the book so long? Why is life so long? Because it is...
The essential lesson that I felt Steibeck was trying to hit home through all his meandering is that life essentially is everything, it is right, wrong, predetermined, self determined, selfish and selfless. Everything has reason and absolutely no reason at all. It makes no sense but its your job as a human to be a good person and try to go beyond the circumstances that life presents you. The only destiny you have is the one you make and he couldn't just say that because that's not how people learn. People learn by doing messed up and evil things or great good things and that's just it. Steinbeck is explaining the purpose of life in this book, maybe you should give it another go.
East of Eden.......2007-09-02
Simply put, this book is a masterpiece and is my all-time favorite book. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A Joy to Read.......2007-08-28
I have never felt the need to review a book before, but I just finished reading East of Eden for the second time. I read quickly, but this time I read slowly and savored every page. As a long-time resident of Monterey County, I am touched by the poetic descriptions of places locals take for granted. The Salinas River which runs underground in summer made a dry river bed into a lyrical image that I have never lost. The beauty of the conversations between Samuel Hamilton and Lee, the sadness of the anecdotal stories that claim only a page or two, and the history of the area combine with the larger story seamlessly. Steinbeck didn't just write -- he conjured full-blown images that stay with me long after I put the book down.
"greatest book ever".......2007-08-23
I actually bought this for my wife. She reads every night before going to sleep and according to her this is the best book she has ever read. She commented on the writing as being very desciptive and making her feel like she was there. "A very satifying read"
Steinbeck Rocks.......2007-08-04
I just finished this book a week ago! What an amazing story as told by an amazing author.
I tend not to provide a synopsis of the book in my reviews and I will continue that trend in this review. I will say that East of Eden is basically a grand morality play using the Biblical Story of Cain and Abel as its backdrop.
As in Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck throws in chapters that are very omniscient in scope, some might even say Biblical in tone. It is in one of these chapters that Steinbeck basically asks the reader to make a choice between good and evil in his or her life. I had to stop reading at that point and just think for a little while....that is the sign of a great author at the top of his game!
Highly recommended!!!

the Energy Meicine Kit.......2007-09-09
Holistic practitioner. Good book I'm glad I have it. She has others that are excellant as well.
So much information, so little time.......2007-07-14
I accidentally purchased both the Energy Medicine book and this Kit. I highly recommend the Kit. It really helps explain the different poises and positions (which are both crucial to the success of energy work). I have to admit that while I consider myself to be open-minded I was skeptical that this would have any benefit. At best, I believed energy-work was something that only a few special people could do. This kit has proved that I can indeed do my own energy work. I just wish I had more time to play with this. I find it fascinating and think others will too. Great for anyone interested in Reiki or other touch therapies.30 Minute Mandalas: Active Meditation for the Mind and Body
Presentation.......2007-07-08
I wish I had purchased this product first before I bought the book. The DVD inside was wonderful. To see her demonstrating the moves and positions was much easier than just reading the book. I'm not saying that the book was poor. What I'm saying is, I'm lazy.
Fabulous Product - Wonderful Value For Your Money.......2007-06-21
Wow, what a great energy kit! Obviously, there are more advanced techniques floating around and in depth classes that can be taken on kinesiology then what you will find on this DVD or in on the cards but Donna Eden does an excellent job breaking down the basics to get one started with muscle testing and tapping your meridian points.
The DVD is about 1 hour long she demonstrates how energy is passed from one person to another (via a neg or pos thought) and how that energy negative or positive affects those around us. She shows you how you can tell if your energy is off through a simple muscle testing technique and then goes on to teach you that by tapping your meridian points it changes the way energy flows in your body and strenghtens your energy field. The DVD and cards in my opinion are priceless in and of themselves.
My daughter and I were watching this DVD together, there is an exercise that Donna does that helps you release negative energy, anger, and the like. So my daughter being the comedian she is at 7 says "Mom, you should do this right before you feel like you want to spank me, for real." LOL, but so true. Anyway, I would recommend buying the Dynamic Laws of Prayer or Prosperity with this kit. Both with will prove life changing.
absolutely magic.......2007-05-15
This has taken me on a whole new course in my journey to explore hands on healing. I was completely taken with the information on the included DVD and it was presented in a straight forward manner. The cards and book that go with the pack are an easy read, well formatted and informative.
This is directed at people who want the information in easy language without a lot of fuss.
I highly recomend this kit for all who are on a journey of discovery with self healing.

Customer Reviews:
East of Eden.......2007-09-15
I had read this book and thorougly enjoyed it so I sent it to my grandson who is 21 who basically is not really a "reader". His reaction to the story was worth everything to me. He now wants me to send him more classics which in itself is a miracle. So more Steinbeck and now Faulkner, Williams and whatever I can think of.
Sprawling Insightful Epic.......2007-09-14
This is a very dark yet illuminating book, filled with pithy aphorisms, subtle humor, realism, tension, sorrow, joy, and trenchant psychology. A thought I had, shortly after reading the book was that a book isn't just created for you, you must also be created for it. You have to be ready for it. Like a wine that had sufficiently fermented, I one day found myself being consumed and combined with the awareness that went into this very heavy book. If I tried reading it only two years earlier, I don't think I'd have gotten as much out of it. But with experience, we become heavier.
Many heavy things are there for the spirit, the strong reverent spirit that would bear much: for the heavy and the heaviest longs its strength.
-Nietzsche
A work of art.......2007-08-26
If you have never read another Steinbeck, try this one. It is perhaps his best work, but alas, all of his work is breathtaking. One of my favorites.
Enjoy it or don't, but read it. .......2007-08-09
I found this book to be fairly enjoyable and full of beautiful gems. I wrote down pages of quotes that I thought were worthy of being remembered. I reveled in many of Steinbeck's descriptions and elaborations. However, I do understand how many people could find this book obvious and simple.
To me it was an inspirational read much in the same way that the Bible can be moving. I took much value away from reading this novel because I began to look at it as an example of good and evil. A simplistic illustration that allowed the writer to voice his thoughts about life. This did not necessarily create a great turning point in literature, but I believe it did what it was intended to do; make the reader reflect.
I was not left with an overpowering thirst to run out and add this book to my collection but neither did I regret the time I had spent reading it. I would definitely recommend this book because I believe it is worth pushing through the boring parts to have the entire work to look back at and ponder. After all, over 100 of us had comments to share about it.
"Perhaps the best conversationalist in the world is the man who helps others to talk."
My Favorite Book.......2007-06-22
This is a phenomenal novel. The crowning achievement of Steinbeck's lexicon of inspired work. The book is operatic, pondering the burden of free will and spanning generations of a family that constantly struggles to escape itself. It is fully American, fully human, and fully a religious experience. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to be moved, inspired, and find their new favorite book.

Book Description
Finally, a book for single women who, unsatisfied with living a worldly lifestyle, want to give their lives a new and godly direction. Author Dawn Eden, a Jewish-born rock journalist turned salty Christian blog queen, gives these readers the positive and uplifting message that they've been wanting to hear-that spiritual healing and a renewed outlook await them. Using her own experiences in the New York City singles jungle, she shows women how they too can go from insecurity to purity, and from forlorn to reborn. She tells women who have been around the block how to find their way home.
Among inspirational books for single women,
The Thrill of the Chaste is a pair of hip Ray-Bans in a field of rose-colored glasses. This isn't a book for dainty damsels in lacy white dresses patiently awaiting their handsome prince. This is for real women who need strong, motivational, and deeply moral messages to counter the ones they receive from a superficial, sex-obsessed world.
Customer Reviews:
I needed this book when I was a teen-ager..I'm 79 now........2007-08-23
I cannot believe how dumb I was as a teen-ager. I'm 79 now and after buying and reading one copy, I bought 5 (five) more to give to relatives and friends and clergy who have daughters.
(There was one sentence in the book that I felt was disturbingly graphic, but probably only to males like myself.)
The simple yet haunting question Ms. Eden raises is, "Do you (men) treat females as 'objects' or as real human beings?"
looking for something completely different?.......2007-07-14
This book gives the proper view and definition of chastity. It is written from the perspective of a 30-something woman who was looking for something more satisfying than the Sex in the City lifestyle and found it. It is an encouraging sign, a lampost in the dark world of the "anythng goes" modern hedonistic propaganda. I think this is part of the backlash to the so-called Sexual Revolution of the 1960's we are beginning to see take root. I hope 20-somethings will read it and see the lighted path Ms. Eden shows them.
Coming Clean .......2007-06-08
I read a review of 'The Thrill of the Chaste' in Gilbert magazine some months ago. I didn't immediately buy a copy, but I kept wondering what Dawn Eden had written. When I saw her on the list of speakers at the upcoming Chesterton conference in St. Paul (June 2007), I decided I had to order one and read the book to see what makes this woman tick.
I'm sure I am not in the target demographic - young women - for this book. However, I have things in my past that I also regret. There are two things in life I have found to be painful, renewing, and most definitely worth the price: confession and forgiveness. I mean that in the sense both of confessing one's sins and forgiving others. There is a real sense of restoration, of honest humility, of being cleansed. Reading Thrill of the Chaste was much like that sort of cleansing. I kept thinking that her path, while different from mine, involved the same history of painful mistakes, redemption, and restoration.
As others have said, Dawn Eden manages to be almost excruciatingly honest without wallowing in any sort of sick attention seeking. I've said I find confession cleansing, but I am uncomfortable with publicly proclaimed confession in many cases, especially when it seems intended to draw a crowd. Ms. Eden is of course a very fine writer. The reason her book is excruciating at times is because it is so easy to see that her mistakes have been so much like ours. Sexual temptation of one kind or another seems to be almost universal. Isn't it a bracing blast of fresh air to find an author who does not worship at the altar of political correctness? Doesn't it make us stronger to refuse to buy any longer into the mass media con job that promiscuity is the meaning of life? Dawn's description of hating the obligitory shared breakfast after a one-night stand starkly contrasts the lie with a dose of reality.
I found the book terribly interesting, an excellent read.
Good material to share..........2007-06-01
I picked this book up at the suggestion of a leader in my church and found it to be an interesting read. Recently divorced and tired of dating that goes nowhere, I saw a lot of parallels between my own choices and the writer's. Living chastely is sometimes a tough and lonely road, but the rewards will be great and the writer does a good job in pointing this out. This may very well be a book I give my daughter to read in a few years, to help her understand the different sides of the coin when she is faced with making a chaste decision. I think this is a good book for anyone considering a chaste lifestyle and have already recommended it to a couple of my girlfriends.
A must-read for young women.......2007-03-25
In The Thrill of the Chaste, Dawn Eden provides a much-needed argument against today's "Sex and the City"-centric culture. Drawing upon her own experiences, both good and bad, Eden not only illustrates the hidden dangers of casual sex, she also provides an inspirational take on living a chaste lifestyle and how doing so will benefit oneself and one's relationships. As a 20-something female New Yorker, I found Eden's perspective relevant, refreshing, and extremely valuable.
Eden engages the reader right away with her hip yet eloquent writing. A former player in the casual sex arena that today's society so vehemently promotes, Eden is not shy about revealing her past, nor does she scold those who engage in the behavior that she has since turned from. Rather, she writes in a simple, honest manner that will immediately hit home with female readers who, having tried the "Sex and the City" approach to love and sex, are unsatisfied with the state of their own relationships and are looking for something more.
Eden's witty, often quite funny writing is grounded in her own examples, and her references to pop culture (including, of course, various "Sex and the City" episodes) make her work light and easy to relate to. She shares details about her own sexual past and the relationships that she eventually realized were so damaging, yet she does so tastefully, revealing the truth about her behavior rather than sensationalizing it. She shows first-hand how casual sex is often used in an effort to obtain a committed relationship but almost always winds up doing quite the opposite, preventing meaningful, loving relationships from being established. She clearly demonstrates the harmful effects of such cavalier attitudes toward sex, especially on women, for whom she explains that sex is by nature an intimate act meant to establish an emotional bond.
But Eden does not just limit her discussion of chastity to the pitfalls of premarital sex and the benefits of waiting. She explains how living chastely translates to every aspect of one's life, including one's dress and social activities, and how a chaste lifestyle is beneficial to both singles and married couples, successfully debunking the stereotype that chastity is only practiced by religious fanatics and those with an aversion to sexual activity.
Although Eden is never preachy or accusatory, her Christian (and predominantly Catholic) views and frequent references to Scripture may be hard to swallow for those with no religious beliefs or no desire to question the cult of casual sex. And, while men can certainly benefit from Eden's wisdom, the book's stylishly girly cover and Eden's focus on a female audience may be a turnoff to guys. However, Eden's insights on the dating world, which include an analysis of the online dating scene and valuable tips on how to branch out and meet potential mates, will be appreciated even by those who have not yet been convinced of the chaste way of life - both male and female.
Overall, Eden's book is an enlightening, inspirational read that will hopefully help to make a more conservative, respectful approach to sex and relationships popular once again. I highly recommend this book to women in their 20s and 30s who are looking for more complete and fulfilling relationships. Read The Thrill of the Chaste and share it with your friends, your sisters, and - one day - your daughters. You'll be thrilled you did.

Book Description
The Elusive Eden charts the historical development of California, beginning with the evolution of the landscape and climate and the arrival of the first inhabitants, the Indians, through social, political, and environmental controversies of the present and the future. The book portrays a land of remarkable richness and complexity, settled by waves of people from diverse cultures. The text is organized chronologically into 10 parts, each developing a major theme or issue for a particular period in California's history. The first chapter of each part is a narrative that spotlights and dramatizes the personal responses of significant individuals at critical moments of historical change. The authors stress issues of current importance such as: ethnic groups, women, environmental history and social and cultural history.

Great Book!.......2007-03-22
I used this book so much in my California and Politics class. It is very descriptive and helpful. The headings make it easy to study, and know exactly what you are reading about. There are lots of interesting pictures, as well as political cartoons. It was a very helpful book in understanding the diverse and colorful history of California. Read it and check it out for yourself.
History of California.......2000-08-08
I had to use this book for a class I took at the University of California, Santa Barbara (History 177 -- Summer 1999). I thought the book was great in certain areas (prehistoric times, geography, and the native peoples), but deficient in others (water development, railroads, Bear Flag Revolt, gold rush, automobile). Also, California's history is much too complicated to be crammed into this book -- the author should have divided it up regionally, or on a time line to allow himself to get more in depth with this material. History can be exciting, especially when the high points are rendered with such immediacy and clarity. California is both a microcosm and macrocaosm of American History. Richard Rice makes this connection resonant from the original Sutter's Mill gold rush to the current Silicon Valley "gold rush". The themes that define California are U.S. history writ large. Rice lets the reader appreciate California from a variety of personal perspectives: Henry Dana's in "Two Years Before The Mast", Leland Stanford and the other "robber barrons", Hiram Johnson and the reformers, into world war two and the Nisei internees, down through Reagan and the Brown family, and into current times. The history of water rights, which was the basis of the movie Chinatown, becomes a compelling and more accurate story here. The lucid prose is admirably supported by evocative photography. Discover California as it really was and is.

Heidi Baker and Eden Jarrin did just that when they found themselves living in fixer-uppers and couldn’t afford to hire professionals to help. Everything in here can be done by the most inexperienced do-it-yourselfer–just check the JQ (Jane Quotient) to see how much time and effort a project will take. So let the sawdust fly . . . and join the thousands of Janes who have learned that home improvement isn’t scary–it’s downright empowering!

Great book.......2007-09-09
This book is written with easy to understand directions. I am doing some home renovations and have been able to do most by myself with the help of this book.
It really is empowering!.......2007-04-08
I love my husband, but he's definitely not a Mr. Fixit kinda guy, so I used to have a handyman on speed dial. Every time I called him it would cost me at least $75, once it cost me $1,300! "Jane" is lot cheaper, plus I love that it's written by women--it's like having a really helpful girlfirend who believes tools aren't just for men and gives you the confidence to do it yourself.
Love This Book For Ease of Use!.......2007-03-09
The BE JANE Home Improverment book is great. Easy to get to the info you want, layed out well for easy reading, and clear instructions with great pictures to help guide you. I think this is the first home improvement book I've actually just sat down and read! This is a perfect book to get for a daughter or friend living on her own! I just bought one for my niece who just moved into her first "real" place!
Must have for the female DIYer.......2007-01-15
Heidi and Eden are two girls that know what they are talking about. The book is very well laid out and instructions are clear cut. I've been fans of these "Janes" for awhile so when I saw that they had a book, I had to be one of the first to get it. I'm very glad that I did. One of my favorite and most interesting projects in the book is changing the face of your appliances to stainless steel. I was planning on buying all brand new appliances until I learned that you could do it with stainless steel adhesive. These girls definitely rock! If you are a first time homeowner like me and short on money to pay a contractor, then this book is a must!
Great, inspirational book!.......2007-01-04
I really love the way the book is laid out. Very useful information combined with great photos and inspiration for why you should take on home improvement! This book makes home improvement approachable and is truly empowering as the title suggests.

Book Description
Dr. Carl Sagan takes us on a great reading adventure, offering his vivid and startling insight into the brain of man and beast, the origin of human intelligence, the function of our most haunting legends--and their amazing links to recent discoveries.
"A history of the human brain from the big bang, fifteen billion years ago, to the day before yesterday...It's a delight."
THE NEW YORK TIMES
Customer Reviews:
A Great Book by Carl Sagan.......2007-07-21
The first time I read Dragons of Eden was about thirty years ago. I enjoyed the book more this time because I have a better understanding of computers and neuroanatomy. This is a great book for a student to learn the evolution of the human brain from it's reptilian origins.
A masterpiece science for the average reader.......2007-06-12
A reviewer at the "Boston Globe" asked: "How can I persuade every intellignet person to read this important and elegant book?" There are so many great lines and passages in this book that even now it is timely.
Buy the Ballantine paperback edition with the wonderful mural-like foldout showing an ape man and woman as Adam and Eve in a Garden of Eden that includes dinosaurs.
Sagan, the polimat.......2007-05-13
I really miss him. Just picture it: Carl Sagan debating the climate crisis... or the Iraqui war... Well, this book shows his caractheristic polimatic veiw of knowledge: not separated boxes and disciplines, but a way of thinking, using both, creativity and skepticism to approach nature in its most complex subject: the human self, the misteries and intricacies of our brains and the resulting mind states, wich some call "mind", Sagan and Druyan at its best.
great book.......2007-01-16
This is a fascinating read on the subject of the development of human intelligence and how our species evolved morals, etc. The book is a very good summary of information packaged for the layman but with deep and thought-provoking insights that could serve to stimulate the thinking of experts in the field. Sagan's style is very humorous and engaging.
I give this book the demotion to four stars for only one reason: it was a book very much ahead of its time, but it was published over thirty years ago and much of the research cited in it is now obsolete.
C'mon, its Carl Sagan!.......2006-11-10
I love love loved this book. Some might think its dry, but I love the way he writes, simple, but verbosive enough to make interesting. He always makes a point and backs it up, most of the book is evolution of the human brain, and proved highly insightful, and told me some stuff I never even thought of. If you love learning, defently get this book.

Back to Eden a God Send.......2007-09-23
This book is amazing. It is full of knowledge, to help one take care of the body. This should be the operating manual for the human body.
Can't think of a title.......2007-04-26
I wanted to think of a clever title but it escapes me. This book has been with me through the following years of age
16- menstrual cramps
24- pregnancy and childbirth
35- obesity and weight loss
49- menopause and the ever present private summers
55- aging gracefully
There is not an ailment or malady known to man that the Creator does not have a cure for! This is a good herb book albiet a little dated as one person commmented
Awful nutrition advice.......2007-01-31
Ugh. I picked up this book in a thrift store because I'm an herbalist and all-around naturalist, so of course I'd heard of Jethro Kloss and wanted to check out this classic. Before I read anything, I came across the pictures of his grandchildren. Right off, I could tell that these were not the offspring of well-eating people; they have crooked, pinched noses and narrow faces. A great percentage of people have these facial defects, myself included. They (including crooked teeth) are the hallmarks of terrible nutrition by our forebearers. I figured that Mr. Kloss must have been heavily into veganism, or at least vegetarianism. It was no surprise that when I read the book I saw Mr. Kloss' hatred of meat and dairy products. He basically suggests that people just eat vegetables, fruit juice, and grains. He even tells pregnant women to basically avoid all animal products, fish included, and load up on juice, veggies, and grains. I wonder how many problem pregnancies Mr. Kloss contributed to because of this advice. There is NOTHING natural about juice. Even worse, Mr. Kloss was big into soy. Soy is a nutritional disaster. Along with juice, there is absolutely nothing natural about eating unfermented soy. Besides being horrendous in the nutrition department, I feel that his beliefs smack of racism and classism, as in, "Educated and upper-class whites should be smart enough to avoid animal products, but those savages and idiots are just doing themselves in." Nevermind that nowhere on earth has there been an indigenous group of peoples who were voluntarily vegetarian or vegan (even if they were just eating bugs and grubs.) For wonderful information on nutrition, read Weston A. Price's "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration," and/or Sally Fallon's "Nourishing Traditions."
Down to earth truth.......2007-01-15
If you dont have it , get it.
Use your common sense, and regain good health
The other reviews writtten are right on target.
Some concepts are dated, but overall, a good health guide.......2006-02-28
In the book, Mr. Kloss said of all diseases, "God has invented the cure and is waiting for man to discover it." The longer I practice as a pharmacist, the more I realize he was right.
Some of his ideas - especially about cancer, diabetes, and infectious disease - are now known to be erroneous (herbal tea enemas ARE NOT cure-alls!) but it's an excellent guide to herbal medicine, and does mention herbs which should not be used by certain people. It also gives details about things like salt glows and hot fomentations, which probably won't cure anything but may at least make the person feel better.
Promise Kloss Moffett died in 2003, five days before her 100th birthday.
