"Judy can pat the bunny. Now YOU pat the bunny." Sound familiar? Pat the Bunny is a part of childhood, as soothing as cocoa and animal crackers. Dorothy Kunhardt's interactive book for babies and toddlers was one of the first of its kind when it was published in 1940, and it has since sold over six million copies. We pat the soft fur of the bunny, play peek-a-boo, look in the mirror, and then do it all over again. (And again and again and again.) After you Pat the Bunny with your baby, why not Pat the Cat and Pat the Dog? These two sequels were written by Edith Kunhardt, the daughter of the author of the original book. Both use the same tried-and-true Pat the Bunny format: sturdy cardboard pages with eight activities that wee ones can explore, from sniffing some brownies, to squeaking a teddy bear, to unfastening Grandma's tennis shoe. The simple line drawings and pastel colors don't do much for adults, but somehow they are just right for babies. This boxed set is a fine choice for a baby gift or first birthday present, and a lifesaver on a long car trip. (Baby to preschool) --Marcie Bovetz

Customer Reviews:
There's a reason why this book has staying power..........2007-10-07
Before I owned this book, I never really understood its allure. It seemed like it wasn't really brightly colored enough to hold my daughter's interest. Boy was I wrong! She has loved this book from the time she was about 8 months old. She's now almost 2 and it's still one of her favorites. She especially loves the little hole representing the mummy's ring and always wants to put her finger in my ring too. The one problem with the book is that it's not at all sturdy...but then again, it is quite well loved.
Pat the Bunny Review.......2007-09-30
I thought this would have been a great book for my infant/toddler, but was very disappointed because it is not a sturdy board book. Instead, it is a regular paper back book with slightly thicker pages. This book requires extra gentle care and is not good for children at a stage where they want to touch and feel the book, as the title suggests.
Forever a Mom.......2007-09-14
I bought this book for my first child...and again for my second. It was their first interactive book. They loved patting the bunny, putting their finger through Mummy's ring, and waving bye bye to Paul and Judy. I buy this book to attach to every baby shower gift I give. Now I am reliving the fun with my grandchildren. I cannot say enough for this gem.
A Wonderful Classic.......2007-08-09
This was one of my faves when I was little, and I still love it. My baby is already enjoying at 7 months. Any parent would be happy to receive this as a gift!
my daughter's favorite book.......2007-08-01
my now 1-year old daughter liked this book from the get-go. She absolutely loved the interaction and the peek-a-boo game she gets to play with Paul. She is captivated by each page and it takes us a while to get through the book. We really enjoy our time together reading this book... it's her favorite! Highly recommend this book.
Book Description
Quantum-Touch is the touch-based healing technique that uses the chi of both practitioner and client, bringing them into harmony to allow the body to heal itself. Quantum-Touch differs from other healing techniques because it does not require long years of study and presents none of the common hurdles of understanding or application; anyone can learn to use it to become a healer, both of others and of self. In this new edition of his best-selling guide, Richard Gordon leads the reader step by step, clearly explaining how to use breathing and body-focusing techniques to raise one's energy levels. Once that is achieved, the healer can correct posture and alignment, reduce pain and inflammation, help balance emotional distress, and even heal pets. Above all, Quantum-Touch can be used in tandem with all other healing modalities, including Western medicine, and its efficacy has been attested to by physicians, acupuncturists, chiropractors, and other healing professionals.
Customer Reviews:
One Minute Hip realignment.......2007-07-31
Richard Gordon writes with such clarity, caring and love, and the drawings and photos are wonderful. This is a superbly helpful book, easy to follow and learn from. After months of seeing a chiropractor with a rotation in my hips, the problem was gone in about two minutes by just following the simple breathing-touch exercise shown in the book for hip alignment. My husband (a "nonbeliever") positioned his hands lightly and breathed energy as I instructed reading from the book, and lo and behold, my hips aligned themselves. No pain, no complicated procedure. Simple and direct, and I am so very thankful! Just that healing alone more than paid for the price of this invaluable book.
This stuff does work.......2007-07-26
I'm just an occasional user of the healing arts. I started out learning w/ Healing Touch from a gifted practitioner who told me about it. When I tried it on my mother, the pains would just radiate into my arms and I'd feel drained after a session. Then I found Quantum Touch and combined therapies. After more than a year later and only several tries, I can now do a session on my mother without the pain or drain associated with it. While watching her vital signs monitor, I saw some normalization in her breathing and heart beat while running energy on her vs. when I stopped running energy.
I also tried the coca cola trick and it does remove the carbonation, but for me, it does take time and concentration. Not bad at all for a newbie who's never done this before.
I only gave it 4 stars because the publication itself had misquoted pages numbers and I had to search for the correct page. Other than that, it's very easy to learn and has made a huge difference when I use it.
Fun stuff. Who knows, maybe I'll make a career out of this.
Almost perefect.......2007-05-19
This book is excellent in covering the basics of Quantum Touch therapy as well as presenting some very valuable tips on how to condcut a healing session properly. These tips are applicable to other healing modalities and not just Quantum Touch. The reason I gave the book four stars is because the exercises lack a more thorough description which makes it somewhat harder to learn on one's own. However, if you are not yet familiar with what Quantum Touch really is and are looking for a solid, down-to-earth, practical and effective healing modality, this is the book to read.
Quantum Touch.......2007-04-05
I stumbled upon this book, it is the teaching book to the course Quantum Touch. It is so easy to read and learn the techniques they are putting forth. If you are interested in hands-on healing this book is a must!
It tells you all about how it works, and case studies. It teaches you very simply how to use the healing energy to help yourself and others.
Helpful information.......2007-03-26
I bought this book along with Energy Medicine and find both very helpful. I work with energy healing and they are both enlightening and useful with my EFT practice.

Customer Reviews:
More like 4 1/2 stars.......2007-10-04
"Touch the Dark" was a great find. It's mainly a vampire novel, but it centers around a clairvoyant who grew up in the vampire world. A nice touch in this book was that, unlike most vampire novels, Chance didn't spend a ton of time on the backstory of every vamp we meet. She didn't have to because she used some familiar historical characters-everybody from Kit Marlowe to Mircea (Vlad Tepes' brother) to the painter Raphael, to Rasputin (the villain). This gives an idea to their age without spending the whole book on them.
The reason this lost 1/2 a star for me was the author's habit of stopping in the middle of an action sequence to infodump, which I found annoying. It was mostly interesting stuff, though, so not so very annoying. I was glad to see that the problem didn't show up in the sequel, so maybe a rookie mistake? Anyway, great premise and great book for the most part.
Cool New Series.......2007-10-04
The first line sets up the tone of the whole book:
"I knew I was in trouble as soon as I saw the obituary. The fact that it had my name on it was sort of a clue."
It's the kind of start that makes me want to keep reading, and I'm really glad I did! This book stands out in the field of fantasy/paranormal romances that have come out lately. It's the characters that really made it for me. All of them were individuals with their own personalities and quirks. Pritkin was especially fun-although I worried that he was about to have a heart attack whenever he appeared-and Mircea and Louis-Cesare and . . . oh, hell, I loved all of them. Billy Joe, Cassie's ghost friend, was especially funny. Which was another neat element. I didn't expect a dark fantasy (and this is really dark in places) to also be funny, but it was.
Very good start to a series. The second is Claimed by Shadow and it was even better than Touch the Dark, I thought. And the third is Embrace the Night, out in April of 2008. Come on April!
Soldi start to a new fantasy series.......2007-10-04
This book rocks hard! The characters are fantastic, no two-dimensional types here. The dialogue is smart and witty. And the sexual tension is steamy. To the reviewer who found the idea of a sexual situation involving vampires and a human to be icky-where have you been? Buffy come to mind, anyone? Or about a thousand other fantasy books that have come out lately? Only Cassie's "encounter" doesn't turn out quite the way I--or she--expected, and I loved it. It was a funny, sexy, smart scene--like the rest of the book. More, more, more!
Excellent Urban Fantasy.......2007-10-04
I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Both Touch the Dark and Claimed by Shadow were original, exciting and substantial reads. I've read both books twice and I can't wait until next April for the third, Embrace the Night. Chance has created an amazing world that has completely sucked me in.
I don't want to say too much about the plot, because the book has a strong mystery element and I don't want to be responsible for spoilers. But, essentially, Cassie Palmer is a clairvoyant on the run from the vampire who brought her up and used her psychic talents for his own nefarious purposes. She escaped him and lived a fairly normal life for three years. But, as the book opens, he has caught up with her. She returns from a break at work to find her obituary displayed on her computer screen. She assumes that it's a warning from her old master, and that she must flee immediately. From there on, Cassie and the reader are transported into a world of magic, danger, intrigue and secrets, where nothing is what it first seems and everyone is a possible enemy.
Vampires, werewolves, fey, time travel, assassins, witches-the book has it all, but it is all very well done and quite believable. It's obvious that a lot of time was taken on the worldbuilding, something that I found very refreshing. I'm tired of reading so-called fantasies which are little more than romance novels in disguise, with poor world-building and little attention to detail. Touch the Dark has none of that. The characters are well drawn, the writing is solid, the mystery was excellent, and the pace just never lets up!
Highly recommended.
Meh..........2007-10-04
Ok, there was a lot wrong with this. I read the whole thing, unlike many of the other low-star givers who reviewed this book. I found the book lacking in many ways. One was the glaring abuse of English in this book. There were a lot of elementary Grammar and idiomatic mistakes. Another was the kitchen-sink inclusion of every type of supernatural creature imaginable. The werewolf on the stairs was pointless, even though it looked like it might be important later. The inclusion of so many famous figures from history as vampires was ludicrous. Jack the Ripper, Rasputin, Cleopatra, I mean really! I found myself reading on just to find out what other travesties I could find. The 'love story' part of this book fell very flat. I was squicked out instead of enjoying the erotic scenes because they smacked of necrophilia, and were devoid of any arousing emotion. The ending wasn't an ending. The climax happens off-stage while the characters are getting it on, then it ends. The device of using the character's virginity as the key to the plot was just absurd. Very unsatisfying. The motivations of the villain were not believable, Cassie behaved foolishly, acting as a plot-puppet jumping through holes. Not recommended.

Customer Reviews:
Wonderful story........2007-09-17
This book is tastefully written, not scary, but led to good discussion about boundaries- with anyone he knows or doesn't know, and serious thought by my 3 1/2 year old son. He asks for the book about once a month, and refers to "touching problems" occasionally in general conversation, saying something like "you don't keep touching secrets and you say 'Stop it! I don't like that!' if someone tries to put their hand in your pants, and go tell Mom!"
It's a little shocking when your baby gets a grasp of something like that, but I'd really rather that be the case than the first time he knows of it is with a previously trusted person that betrays that trust. It's not graphic or detailed and doesn't attempt to explain why a pervert would do such a thing. It appears serious to him and has caused him to talk with me and plan his response (just like what to do if he became lost in a store), but it's no more scary to him just from reading about it and talking about it than a toothy shark or scary shadow in another book. I highly recommend this for parents brave enough to tackle this subject before your child starts attending birthday parties alone or going to neighbors' houses to play.
Every parent should read this book.......2007-08-31
This book provides the details all parents need to have to protect thier children. It gives great tools for parents to use. I will purchase this book for all my friends as baby shower gifts!
Excellent book!.......2007-05-13
This book helped to reinforce what I had already taught my 4-year-old son. He asked questions that he hadn't previously asked and opened up new discussion about the topic. It's well-written, common sense approach makes it easy for pre-schoolers to understand. The author is a therapist, which made me feel confident about the quality of the content.
We love this book........2007-05-12
My son and I read this book a couple of times a week. He even tells me now what he thinks is a "good touch" and a "bad touch". I recommend this to all parents!
Very informative and Easy to Understand for kids.......2007-01-05
I don't think it's an Easy subject for parents to talk to their kids about, So this book opened the subject up for me. It's hard to talk about, But an Absolute Must in the World Today. It talked about bad touch and Good touch like tickles, then the mom told her son a story about a little girl. The story was a Real Life possibility because it was a neighbor asking a little girl if she liked Kittens (what kid doesn't right?)then he asked her if she wanted to come see them at his house. The book states " since she knew this person she went with him" giving you the opening to explain it's not just strangers that can hurt you. The man wanted her to sit on his lap, then he tried to put his hand in her [...], she ran home and told her mom. Then the guy got in trouble. The mom telling the story to her son Then talks about it to him so he knows to tell her if something happens. Then they get into talk about what is Private on your body.... So here's on thing I wasn't Comfortable with.... The book has an illistration of the mom and son looking at a book, and their book has a picture of a little boy and girl naked so they can identify "private Parts". EASY FIX, My husband Took a Marker and Drew a pair of underwear on the little boy So it wouldn't be an issue. So you could just draw a bathing suit on the little girl, or underwear on the little boy If you're not ready for those pics if you have younger kids.
Overall the illistration are Great, not Scary, and just draw some underwear on the naked pic if you're uneasy about that. I would Buy this Book for any kid getting ready to Go to School or a Friends house.

Book Description
A soldier swears an oath to uphold the constitution and protect our country, while a soldier's spouse takes the unwritten oath to a life of constant moves, lengthy separations and endless anxieties. Their commitment requires a unique blend of patriotism, dedication, hard work and, most of all, flexibility. The stories in Chicken Soup for the Military Wife's Soul, written by soldier's wives and the courageous women who themselves serve in the military, speak directly to those who live the life, understand the jargon and thrive on the joys and challenges of military life. These stories celebrate the spirit of women who unite with kindred spirits and strangers to raise families, maintain homes and uphold the most positive attitudes when facing the fears of losing a loved one. This book is a tribute to all the women who daily uphold the written and unwritten oaths of service and of marriage. Key Features Unlike other books about military lifestyle that are guides to coping, this book offers comfort and support to women. In these stories spouses pour out their hearts with examples of how they overcome fear and anxiety while concerned for the safety of their loved ones who are far from home, protecting our freedom. Chapters include: I Miss You So, Raising Military Brats, Honey, We've Got Orders, An Officer At The Door, Holidays: Military Style, Red, White and Blue. Inspiring stories celebrate the lives of military wives and spouses and the special bond that unites them while supporting each other as they share similar experiences.

Perfect for any Military Wive.......2007-08-28
This book is touching, compassionate and reinforces why our country is so great! Have a box of tissues near by this one is a tear jerker!
Wonderful as always!.......2007-08-16
Once again a chicken soup book is great! As a wife of a deployed soldier, this book helps me keep a positive and uplifted spirit. I would reccomend this book to any military wife.
Biased Military Wife.......2007-06-26
It's probably because my husband is in the military and he's not with me right now, but I enjoyed each of these stories, even if some of them plucked at my heart strings a bit too close to home. I read this book on a plane, which I do not recommend! I had to hide every sniffle. Of course, these stories are sometimes a bit cheesy and "feel good," but it's called Chicken Soup for the Soul for a reason.
Love it!.......2007-06-13
I HATE to read. Typically it bores me and puts me to sleep. With that said, I somehow ran across this book on-line. I read the Amazon reviews and decided to give it a try. I got the book and in one sitting read half of the book straight through. I was addicted to it! I honestly could not put it down. Even the section on "Raising Military Brats" I read although I do not have any children. My husband has 13 months left of his tour in Iraq and it was somewhat comforting to read about WWI or WWII wives who, in their husband's two year deployment, maybe received one letter, if at all. It made me appreciate what I have, even though what I want is thousands of miles away. I definitely recommend it for any military wife.
Military Spouses-One's of God's greatest creations:).......2007-06-01
I bought this book knowing that it would be filled with heart felt stories by military spouses, like myself. I have to say that there were many times I found myself in a daze from some of the stories and by the time I realized it, I would have a tear running down my cheek. Not just anyone can relate to these stories, it takes a special person to completely understand and appreciate what a military spouse does. These stories have helped me to cope with my husband's deployements and they give me the strength to survive during those times. I would recommend this book to all, especially those who have no affiliation with the military. It will give you just a small look into the priceless, but chaotic days we call our lives.

Great new edition.......2007-08-12
This edition has been phenomenally improved! I owned the original published more than thirty years ago. The photos and illustrations clearly demonstrate various tests, point locations, acupressure principles, etc. The binding and protective cover have been completely redesigned. This manual contains a wealth of proactive health balancing and maintainence information, well organized for those who are being first introduced to the system. The acupressure sections of the book contain a wealth of traditional and innovative new information presented clearly and concisely. Highly recommended.

Furthering the presentation of recent research in biochemistry, cell biology, and energy medicine in the Second Edition, this new update includes advances in neurophysiology and physics, reconfiguring knowledge of mind and body, from "microgenesis" to "quantum consciousness." A Wonderful Informative Book.......2007-05-13
This is a terrific book for anyone interested in exploring the human body. It's good on the details and good on the big picture. It's a fascinating and revealing reference work on the workings of the human body.
Review of Job's Body: A Handbook for Bodywork by Deane Juhan.......2007-03-29
For anyone interested in anatomy and physiology or alternatives to medicines alone this is a wonderful book to read and reference. It gives some excellent insights into healing by touch and bodywork a must for al types of therapists.
essential.......2006-09-09
this work is an essential addition to any practitioner's library who wishes to markedly enhance their understanding and communication of care to their patients. Juhan uses brilliant, in-depth scientific notation in an easy-to-read format. brilliant.
Complex, Eye Opening, Vital.......2006-06-15
If you are a doctor, physical therapist, massage or bodywork therapist of any kind with an appetite for in depth analysis and understanding of the human response to touch, this book is a MUST HAVE for you. It's technical and detailed, and it is also ground breaking, eye-opening and very exciting.
Juhan covers the topic of the human response to touch from the micro-cellular level through to system responses all the way to the origins of the body/mind split in western philosphy and the consequences of pharmaceutical dominance in health care on touch therapies. He introduces many new perspectives that bring a rich vitality to anatomy. He shows the interactivity - the interconnectedness - the interdependence of all aspects of the human body, mind and being. He presents some of the latest theories about how the body mind are integrated and communicate - Candace Pert's molecules of emotion.
Not only is Juhan's research fascinating and valuable to body workers, but also his method of inquiry, the questions he asks, and how he asks and seeks to answer them, are also very educational - modeling ways we can pursue the investigation ourselves.
Here are a few examples of the kind of insight that Juhan offers in the Third Edition:
Page 17
"This personal, sensory engagement with the self does not spring from a rebellion against scientific authority, but rather from a realization of the present inadequacy of that authority's conception of reality, a realization that is not contrived for the purpose of debate, but which is forced upon [us] by [our] own painful circumstances."
"When the conceptions of reality that we maintain do not square with the things we are experiencing, it is not because we are flawed or because our experiences are wrong, but because our conceptions cannot contain all of the facts as we perceive them. And there is no constructive way out of this crisis but to enlarge our sense of reality to include our actual experiences."
Page 142
"The goal of bodywork should not be to impose universalized standards of posture and movement upon an individual, but rather to help the individual to cultivate the mental awareness and the physical flexibility to continually adapt to the changing needs of the moment."
Page 184
"Muscles that have fallen into disuse and flaccidity just don't provide enough pumping action for these intercellular fluids to adequately feed and bathe the nerve cells, and so the general strength of their functions is diminished."
Page 412
"Subjective and objective are not two distinct ways I have of viewing reality; they are two sides of a continuous feedback loop which together make up that reality. How completely I sense my body and how I feel about it has everything to do with the particular course of events going on within it."
Job's Body: A Handbook for Bodywork.......2005-09-22
A bit on the technical side for other than those familiar within the medical field, but would strongly advise reading Job's Body for insight and learning about one's own self. A learning experience definately.
Book Description
The knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things and directly affects the quality of health has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times. The existence of this "life energy" has been verified by recent scientific experiments, and medical doctors are considering the role it plays in the functioning of the immune system and the healing process.
Reiki, a technique for stress reduction that also promotes healing, allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of "life energy." Reiki was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist, early in the 20th Century. Reiki is easy to learn. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radience that flows through you and surrounds you. It creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Many have reported miraculous results. Hospitals and doctors' offices are beginning to include it as part of their therapy, and this new edition describes several successful approaches now being used across the US to integrate Reiki into patient care.
This revised and expanded edition includes important new information on the theory and practice of Reiki, including the Japanese Reiki Techniques taught by Dr. Usui as well as the Hayashi healing guide. Also included are pictures of the Usui Memorial in Tokyo, and of Mt. Kurama where Reiki was rediscovered.
This book is a must for anyone wanting the latest information on Reiki. Its referenced history of Reiki contains the most detailed and verfiable information currently available. Written with inspiration, clarity and vitality, it captures the essence of Reiki and is an excellent introduction to the subject as well as a user-friendly manual for the experienced practitioner.

Reiki: the Healing Touch.......2007-01-09
I teach Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and ONLY recommend books written by Willam Rand and Frank Arjava Petter...do not trust any other authors for traditional Reiki methods
Reiki:The Healing Touch is used by The Reiki Energy Healing Center........2006-02-08
We love this book! Lots of History, tons of Pictures and easy to follow text. The Reiki Energy Healing Center follows William Rand's style of Usui Reiki and Karuna Reiki. He lives the Reiki Way of Life. He continually is exploring Reiki and expanding it. The research he has done to get to know Mikao Usui is extraordinary. He is an inspiration!
Learn about Reiki, and this is the best place to begin!.......2005-06-16
"Spiritually Guided Life Energy--It is the God-Consciousness called Rei that guides the life energy called Ki in the practice we call Reiki. Therefore, Reiki can be defined as spiritually guided life energy. This is a meaningful interpretation of the word Reiki. It more closely describes the experience most people have of it; Reiki guiding itself with its own wisdom, rather than requiring the direction of the practitioner." page 1-3 of the book.
Rand has written one of the best books on Reiki (pronounced ray-key) I've read. Reiki: The Healing Touch is formatted for pleasurable, informative reading with each paragraph titled in bold print and plenty of spacing between them for your mind to absorb it all. If you want to understand what Reiki is, get this book. There are many black and white photographs including Dr. Mikado Usui ("Usui Sensi"), founder of the Reiki System of Healing, Mt. Kurama; including the meditation waterfall, one of the great cedar trees part way up the mountain, and the roots on the path near the top of the mountain and many more. Also includes diagrams of the healing hands positions for self-healing and healing of others.
The five principles of Reiki:
Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, do not anger.
Honour your parents, teachers and elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude to every living thing.
I have so much joy and peace since I've been attuned to Reiki [I used Steve Murray's dvd's sold here at amazon and I recommend watching at least one of those first] and this book continues to educate me. Reiki is something very Special that I wish that the whole world knew! It is growing fast and is already in many hospitals and practiced not only by many nurses and doctors, but other careers in which one works on clients with touch--massage and physical therapists, chiropracters and more. Reiki is very gentle and calms and soothes the healee, aiding the body's own natural healing process for both the giver and receiver. Won't you open up your mind and heart and learn about it? You won't be sorry. By the way, Reiki works best when it is requested. If you are in pain, have an illness, and your doctor can't help you anymore, Reiki may just be a Godsend for you...o8E
Soar!
(Note: If you need a more scientific approach to this topic, read "Hands of Light: A Guide to Healing Touch Through the Human Energy Field" by Barbara Ann Brennan. She's a practicing healer, psychotherapist, and scientist.)

Everyone should get this.......2007-08-04
I can't rave enough about this set. The meditation tape alone is worth the money. The cards are good for remembering the hand positions for Reiki if you are a beginner. The book is also loaded with information. I wish there were more sets of this quality available.
Best for Beginners Level 1.......2007-07-16
Great beginners kit. I took a Reiki Level 1 class a month ago and this has been the perfect tool for me so far. My teacher's lineage stems from William Lee Rand so i was excited to have purchased this kit. It comes with a 100 page Workbook, 30 Instructional Cards, Audio CDs, and DVD video. I just love the audio CD, its so relaxing. For those who want to know the symbols, you won't find them here. He states in his book, "You may be wondering why the Reiki symbols have not been printed in this workbook. It is because Reiki symbols are not meant to be available to the general public, but only to those who have taken a Reiki class." He goes on to explain the many reasons why the symbols are kept private. He also mentions you don't need the symbols to self treat or treat others. I know this because i don't use the symbols but i can feel the energy when i self treat or treat my pets...my hands get really warm and start to tingle.
Alternative healing.......2007-07-05
As a beginner to Reiki, I find this product very informative and useful. It has a DVD to teach you different treatments and a CD for meditation and music. It also has cards for different hand positions and a book that is a must read for any Reiki student. The book alone is worth the cost of the kit. If you have heard about Reiki and want to heal yourself and feel less stressed, please give this system a try. William Lee Rand is wonderful!
Reiki.......2007-06-27
Excellent program. I did what William Lee Rand said and took a course in Reiki too. This DVD and workbook helped to recall what I learned in class and finetuned my technique. I highly recommend it!
Outstanding resource!.......2007-06-25
All of the information on Reiki in the book and DVD is very simple and easy to understand. Mr Rand does an excellent job at communicating techniques and also how one would feel while practicing the techniques. This is kind of rare as books ususally do not go into how the practitioner would feel. I've tried the gyoshi ho technique with very good results on my first attempt! The meditations on the CD are excellent. I do one meditation each morning upon waking and I feel incredible! The book has lots of very usefull info with techiques on the use of the symbols and for healing different issues. One can really feel the passion and love from Master Rand and he has made a great impact on my Reiki practice and on my understanding of Reiki. I highly reccomend this kit to anyone no matter what your level is.

Book Description
The Touch of Healing offers readers the means to greater health, vitality, and self-understanding through the practice of an ancient oriental healing art and practical holistic philosophy called Jin Shin Jystsu. Gentle touching similar to acupressure is used to release tension that accumulates and is at the root of dysfunction, disease, and imbalance. The authors explain the natural life force that runs through the body and demonstrate with case studies, detailed analysis, and more than 30 illustrations, how to integrate this system into one's life. The key healing points and body flows, known as "Safety Energy Locks," are presented with step-by-step instructions on how to utilize them for healing and greater self-awareness. Many self-help practices are also offered that address a wide array of common ailments, including headaches, digestive disorders, fatigue, depression, and arthritis along with prescriptive exercises for relief of emotional ailments such as loss of confidence, anxiety, and depression.

Useful and Practical.......2007-01-09
This is a great book. Not only do I use it for my own health, but as a therapist, I recommend it to my client.
Too many points to heal.......2006-11-14
I bought the book after a practitioner used this technique on me. However, the information provided is too extensive and confusing, listing far too many "points" in the body with corresponding healing touches to keep track of them. The body map listing them is in the first part of the book, so you have to flip back and forth to see what the author is referring to. I also thought some of the miraculous healing claims a little outrageous. The way this system originated is also a little murky. This is a better book for people training to learn this practice than for the lay public.
Easy Self-Healing Energy Knowledge.......2006-04-09
I have a feeling that if everyone was aware of and practiced Jin Shin Jyutsu, Doctors might have no patients.
I only learned of Jin Shin Jyutsu last year when I took some Jin Shin Jyutsu self-study classes at a local "Healing Resources" alternative book store. I found after leaving the sessions I was both relaxed yet energized. Upon buying the book, "Touch of Healing" I found it to contain a "motherlode" of information and applications that apply to blockages or ailments in all areas of the body. In just scratching the surface of information, techniques I have applied have effected improvement of my sinus headaches... actually numbing and lulling out some severe migraines. I have read my book from front to back and have highlighted and written in the margins... It is a major reference for touch remedies for myself, friends and family.
It is so simple that some people might think it's complicated.
But what's most important is, that when you're feeling your worst, when you don't have the energy or concentration to do anything, this is as simple as placing one hand on the back of your neck, and the other hand on the side of your head... or wrapping one finger with the fingers of your other hand... no major effort at all... but you get surprising results! as well as a calming effect! Simply amazing... and so in tune with your body.
This book has a wealth of information on how the energy flows through our bodies and how we can correct energy flow problems, and as a result correct and eliminate the physical problems (and emotions) that have settled into our systems.
Great book.... A wealth of information... It gives one renewed confidence that we have control over our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
EVERY home should have a copy.......2006-01-20
I do not have "healing hands," a green thumb or luck with most such techniques. In the six months since I bought this book, however, I have managed to clear one upset stomach (on an airplane, no less!), one fainting spell, one bladder problem, and, most recently (and most gratefully), a case of depression.
Please don't be daunted by all the different points the book lists. While Jin Shin Jyutsu is undoubtedly an art and a science for those who wish to study it deeply, for those who simply want relief, it's as easy as plugging in a lamp!
Please buy this book!
Amazing and easy to do.......2005-12-11
I did some of the finger holds in the book in the bookstore.
Holding a finger while squeezing with my other hand, and holding for a while, in my case until after I could feel a pulsing sensation, and then doing a different position.
I work with energy methods such as Reiki, Qigong, Quantum Touch, EFT and other practices, so I am thinking this is just another energy practice not likely to add much to what I already know.
Yet, this is a really great practice, which is easy to do, and I can really feel more energy flowing. It also seems to combine very well and boosts my Reiki self healing.
When the fingers of your hands touch various energy points in your body they act like cable jumpers sending a charge between both points and improving the energy flow and releasing blocked energy caused by emotional problems or illness, even injury. Free flowing energy acclerates the body's self healing.
According to the book there 14400 points in each finger. Can you imagine the possible health benefit of holding just one finger? Multiply that by the six positions, add the Trinity Flows and the SEL's, and you can feel for yourself quite easily how beneficial this whole system is.
This book is easy to read and follow. I recommend the Energy Medicine kit by Donna Eden, which is based on a different discipline of energy healing, which is extremely good for someone starting out. If you have not moved energy before I recommend Quantum touch by Richard Gordon.
This is definitely one of the best energy books I have read, and I highly recommend it. I am surprised this system is not better known.
