Customer Reviews:
good history of plots and stars.......2007-01-10
This book is a must have for all you newer Days fans who want to know what happened up to 1995. Also it has family trees and history of the making of the show. It helps explain Patch"s history in the story line and so much more on dozens of other people. Makes you feel like an expert on the whole show.It starts at the very beginning and had to end at 1995, but maybe some one will write part 2 for the years 1996 to 2007, I hope.
A truly in-depth look at NBC's long running show........1999-03-16
A must for any fan who longs for a return to the enticing storytelling that was once the hallmark of daytime drama. Amazing photos, unbelievable detail... well worth every penny.
It's an interesting, informative, trivial book........1999-02-19
I liked how this book was divided into about 6 chapters. The book explanins about how the show was first started, how the fans have always supported it, and the whole storyline. I have only been watching Days for about 2 years, so when I read the storyline, it was really confusing, but I am trying to follow it. It doesn't have any color pictures, and the pictures it does have are mostly of the older families on Days. This book does, however, give you a good background, and it doesn't really leave anything out dealing with information. It also has family trees in the back so you can be sure about the Days generations. You can learn some real trivia from this book. If you want history, and trivia, get this book. It will soon become one of your most treasured posesions.
This book should be well worth your money when you begin reading it.

Great Book!.......2006-11-10
This book was perfect for my 18 month old son. He loves the BIG COLORFUL PICTURES it has. He carries it every where & wants us to read him a few pages every night.
It's a good book- BUT..........2006-09-01
My 2 year old LOVES Blue's Clues. So when I saw this was available, I knew he would love the book. The pictures are colorful and vibrant, and the stories are interesting. Unfortuately, the pages come apart too easily. It's glued along the edge and they come apart at the seam. I have so many pages I need to tape back into the book. This book will not last long and what good is a children's book if all the pages end up loose on the floor?

Book Description
Ten years ago, Las Vegas was terrorized by "CAST" -- a vicious serial killer responsible for nearly half a dozen brutal murders, and who tested the mettle of the LVPD's new Captain, Jim Brass. After a two-year spree, CASt suddenly disappeared and has not been heard from...until now. Gil Grissom and his CSI team are called in to investigate a homicide that perfectly fits the notorious criminal's modus operandi. But all hell breaks loose when a reporter made famous by the original cases receives a letter from someone claiming to be CAST -- and who says he has nothing to do with the latest slaying.
Now the CSIs must stop someone who may be a copycat killer from striking again. ...even as a murderer from the past continues to evade capture, and isn't taking too kindly to rivals....

Pretty Good CSI Story.......2007-05-14
Another quick, easy read (I read this one in the course of a day), BINDING TIES has a great storyline and better editing and character development than the last CSI story I read.
Reading this book is a lot like watching an episode of my favorite show. I'm anxious to get my hands on more titles based on CSI.
One of the Best in the CSI series.......2006-02-09
I have read them all - as soon as a new one comes out I get it and read it within the week. This one was great - characters were excellent and the mystery was very good.
Excellent Novel.......2005-10-27
My daughter loves this novel and is a big CSI fan. She did like the Grave Matters novel a little better but still enjoys reading this novel over and over again.
The best so far ...What can i say .......2005-08-14
CSI is the best television show I have ever laid my eyes on. Every episode is exciting at the same time you learn new things every week. This book is no exception I love the characterization of CASt. I am not going into details as this will spoil the fun for future readers. Hey if you can't get enough of CSI, I suggest this is the first book you grab. To future readers enjoy!
The Best of The CSI Books............2005-07-14
All of the CSI books are good (though editing needs work) - but this is the best one of all!
The characters more closely resemble those seen on TV. I finished it in a day - was hard to put down.

Magic School Bus Books.......2007-01-04
These books are so educational and yet the kids have no idea that they are learning because how fun they are.
Book Description
As a very special extension of our acclaimed and bestselling Step into Reading line, Star Wars Jedi Readers will feature photographs from Episode III and text that is carefully designed to help children learn to read. This Step 5 Jedi Reader will focus on Obi Wan Kenobi’s adventure from the movie!
From the Trade Paperback edition.
Customer Reviews:
This book is 9 chapters long!.......2007-07-29
Although, this book is geared toward younger kids, I wouldn't say it's geared toward "younger readers". I bought it for my 5 year old (who will be starting kindergarten in the fall) thinking it would be a much simpler book than it was. If you're not intimately familiar with Star Wars, some of the words will be hard for you to pronounce - something to keep in mind since you'll likely be reading this book to your child. My son was very distracted that the colors of Obi-Wan's ship and Boga were WRONG.
The Battle Is Joined........2005-09-15
OBI-WAN'S FOE is a book written for young Star Wars fans that describes the final battle between Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Separatist military commander, General Grievous. Like all sci-fi books oriented towards young readers, there are some words in the book that the target audience might have difficulty in understanding. There are a few differences between this book and REVENGE OF THE SITH and the REVENGE OF THE SITH novelization, e.g. there is no mention of a giant metal windmill in the movie or novel. Those few discrepancies aside, OBI-WAN'S FOE does contain a treat that is difficult to come by: an illustration of what General Grievous looked like before he became a cyborg trained in the Jedi arts. Speaking of illustrations, those are what make this book so different from many of the other young reader STAR WARS books on the market. Most of STAR WARS books aimed at kids are full of pictures from the films. OBI-WAN'S FOE takes a different route and instead of being filled with digitalized pictures, is full of brilliant and exciting drawings illustrated by Tommy Lee Edwards. Overall, a fairly exciting episode from REVENGE OF THE SITH told in a way that young fans will enjoy that includes some great illustrations, including one of a pre-cyborg General Grievous.
action packed fun.......2005-06-08
"Obi-Wan's Foe" is a fast paced and enjoyable read. It primarily features the part of Episode III when Obi-Wan Kenobi faces General Grievous on Utapai. The young reader may be a bit disoriented to read that author Jane Mason tinkered with some of the plot details, so there are minor discrepancies when compared to both the film and Matthew Woodring Stover's novel. Perhaps being the only "Revenge of the Sith" book in the Jedi Readers that is not composed of film stills, Tommy Lee Edwards' original illustrations are beautiful. After combing through extensive Star Wars literature, I believe that this title features the only visualization of what General Grievous looked like before his cyborg surgery. To realize that Grievous looked scarier before his operation is by itself worth the $3.99 retail cost! While it will never win any awards, "Obi-Wan's Foe" is an entertaining and action packed book.
High Interest, Amazing illustrations.......2005-05-22
Kids will love this novelization of Obi Wan's adventures from Episode III. Novelizations aren't great literature but if you want your child to love to read - especially if you have a boy -- you want to keep his interest. On a side note, the illustrations are amazing. The blurb says the book includes photos but my son loved looking at Tommy Edwards' astonishing, realistic yet fantastical artwork.

Customer Reviews:
Mom of 10 year old autistic boy.......2002-04-12
As the mother of an autistic son, we have had a great deal of difficulty in getting him to enjoy reading. He doesn't understand a great many words, but has a few "subjects" he really enjoys. Star Wars,Episode 1 is one of them. This book has been a real find that he loves! I am getting more of them, as they don't "talk down" to kids, really explain the movie in detail, and help kids understand many things (in life, as well as the movie!) better. We are really looking forward to the next Star Wars movie this summer- as well as the books that will follow it!
Wonderful adventure story!.......2002-01-02
DANGERS OF THE CORE takes a section of the movie 'Phantom Menace' and, step by step, breaks down the action that flies by so quickly on the big screen. This makes it easy for children to follow. The excitement starts with the first sentence and never lets up!
The illustrations are expressive and dramatic; nicely done.
DANGERS teaches children to respect all living beings. Qui-Gon Jinn is the epitome of patience (especially with Jar Jar!), and remains calm, steady and in control even in the midst of danger. Excellent life lessons for children!
Another plus: The story doesn't 'talk down' to children. It assumes an appropriate level of maturity and intelligence.
I'd take off half a star because Jar Jar's speech is impossible for some children to understand when reading the book on their own.
Nevertheless, all the children to whom I read DANGERS OF THE CORE just loved it! And with such a variety of characters and emotions, it's fun to read out loud, too.
Highly recommended for children as well as old fogeys who are young at heart!
Getting Boys Excited about Reading.......2000-04-19
"Dangers of the Core" is a great beginning reader, especially for a boy. The book carefully summarizes the underwater chase from the Episode 1 movie into easy-to-read language that captures a boy's attention. I have had trouble finding interesting early readers that my son will read; but when we found this book, he would not put it down. He read it TWICE in the first day--without prompting! Thank you for sparking his interest in reading!

Cool!.......2006-01-02
spongebob and Patrick take a tour at Sandy's Rocket and accidentally takes them off to the moon. They think that the moon is Bikini Bottom and they start to think that the residents are aliens!
Sandy's Rocket.......2005-05-19
The book I read was Sandy's Rocket. It's a comedy-adventure. The story take's place under the sea. The time is dark time. I really don't know who the narrator is. But at the beginning of the story is a pirate. There are two main characters. Their names are Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star. Spongebob and Patrick are taking a tour of Sandy's rocket ship, but they accidentally take off to the moon! The moon looks strangely similar to Bikini Bottom. They accidentally land back to Bikini Bottom. Also is going alien hunting. What will happen next? Read the book and find out. The funniest part of this book is when he sings his song "were going to the moon, moon ride". It's so funny; I recommend it to ages 3 and up.
Totally cool.......2001-09-14
This is a wacky book that is totally cool and doesn't get boring at all. Get it and you won't be disapointed! Get them all you person you.
Very Funny.......2001-05-31
Once you start reading this book filled with underwater non-sense and highjinx you won't want to stop. The book follows the show from which it was based very well. After this book, you'll want to join Spongebob and patrick in all their crazy mis-adventures.

When Stephen King originally wrote The Green Mile as a series of six novellas, he didn't even know how the story would turn out. And it turned out to be of his finest yarns, tapping into what he does best: character-driven storytelling. The setting is the small "death house" of a Southern prison in 1932. The Green Mile is the hall with a floor "the color of tired old limes" that leads to "Old Sparky" (the electric chair). The charming narrator is an old man, a prison guard, looking back on the events decades later.
Maybe it's a little too cute (there's a smart prison mouse named Mr. Jingles), maybe the pathos is laid on a little thick, but it's hard to resist the colorful personalities and simple wonders of this supernatural tale. And it's not a bad choice for giving to someone who doesn't understand the appeal of Stephen King, because the one scene that is out-and-out gruesome (it involves "Old Sparky") can be easily skipped by the squeamish.
The Green Mile won a 1997 Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel; and Tom Hanks stars in a film of the novel by Frank Darabont, the director of The Shawshank Redemption (from King's collection Different Seasons). --Fiona Webster
Book Description
Here this history-making serial novel -- from cliffhanger to cliffhanger -- in its entirety.
When it first appeared, one volume per month, Stephen King's The Green Mile was an unprecedented publishing triumph: all six volumes ended up on the New York Times bestseller list -- simultaneously -- and delighted millions of fans the world over.
Welcome to Cold Mountain Penitentiary, home to the Depression-worn men of E Block. Convicted killers all, each awaits his turn to walk the Green Mile, keeping a date with "Old Sparky," Cold Mountain's electric chair. Prison guard Paul Edgecombe has seen his share of oddities in his years working the Mile. But he's never seen anyone like John Coffey, a man with the body of a giant and the mind of a child, condemned for a crime terrifying in its violence and shocking in its depravity. In this place of ultimate retribution, Edgecombe is about to discover the terrible, wondrous truth about Coffey, a truth that will challenge his most cherished beliefs...and yours.
Customer Reviews:
The Green Mile.......2007-09-07
I actually watched the movie first. I fell in love with it and I had to have the book. I enjoyed the book much more than the movie. In the book it actually tells you what crimes the people committed and gives a better view into the life of each character. This is a must read!
WONDERFUL!!!.......2007-07-28
I read this book out of boredom & was pleasantly surprised! It's been a long time since I read a novel & this book sparked my love for reading back up. I think Stephen King is an awesome author & really knows how to catch your imagination to the point that you feel like you're really there in the story!!
The Old Cliche is True..........2007-07-25
...the book is always better than the movie. I was, however, surprised by how close the book and the movie were to each other. There were some additions and subtractions.
I listened to this serial novel on my way to and from work for about two weeks. I think this might be the way Stephen King would have wanted it. He mentions the role of serial novels from the past and how a person would sit and read them aloud to their family. Hearing the words allows you to get lost in the story.
I highly recommend reading this novel for its storytelling genius, but I also recommend listening to it. As you listen, you will develop a deeper appreciation for the spoken word and the storytelling ability of Stephen King.
A Tremendously Moving Story.......2007-06-27
You cannot go wrong with this novel. King fan or not, you will be moved by the characters, the writing, the themes...It's a beautiful, beautiful story that makes you look into your heart. You will not be able to put this one down.
You saw the movie..........2007-06-09
I have seen the movie several times and it never fails to move me. I finally decided to read the book, too. A great story, characters you can really care about, and some things about real life to think about.

Customer Reviews:
Pretty princesses - not so good storyline.......2007-09-12
The princesses are pretty to look at in ballerina versions of their usual attire, but there really isn't a story to this book. My girls who love all the princesses don't pick this one too often. Also my 4 yr old who can read already told me this one is too easy so I think it should have been a level one book instead of a two.
