Like the Oklahoma dust bowl from which she came, 14-year-old narrator Billie Jo writes in sparse, free-floating verse. In this compelling, immediate journal, Billie Jo reveals the grim domestic realities of living during the years of constant dust storms: That hopes--like the crops--blow away in the night like skittering tumbleweeds. That trucks, tractors, even Billie Jo's beloved piano, can suddenly be buried beneath drifts of dust. Perhaps swallowing all that grit is what gives Billie Jo--our strong, endearing, rough-cut heroine--the stoic courage to face the death of her mother after a hideous accident that also leaves her piano-playing hands in pain and permanently scarred.
Meanwhile, Billie Jo's silent, windblown father is literally decaying with grief and skin cancer before her very eyes. When she decides to flee the lingering ghosts and dust of her homestead and jump a train west, she discovers a simple but profound truth about herself and her plight. There are no tight, sentimental endings here--just a steady ember of hope that brightens Karen Hesse's exquisitely written and mournful tale. Hesse won the 1998 Newbery Award for this elegantly crafted, gut-wrenching novel, and her fans won't want to miss The Music of Dolphins or Letters from Rifka. (Ages 9 and older) --Gail Hudson

Customer Reviews:
Gritty.......2007-10-08
Wow, this powerful book left me thirsty and choking from the grit of the Oklahoma plains. A great coming of age story, Hesse gives us the feminine perspective of what is important - what is worth living for - during a time of extreme poverty and hopelessness. The drought, the dust storms, the grasshoppers, "The Path of Our Sorrow" (p. 83-84) has taken away any hopefulness for a fruitful harvest. But Billie Jo and her family are some of the more fortunate ones. They are able to keep their farm; they have a house and some food, even if they have to "chew" the milk because of the dust. (p. 22) The piano offers some comfort, too, until the accident.
In addition to the Great Depression, Billie Jo has to deal with her own depression, a result of the accidental death of her mother and the disfiguring hurt of her own injuries. Was it Billie Jo's fault? Her Father's? Will she be able to forgive him, or herself?
Billie Jo is bitter. Bitter from the dust, from her father's silence, from her mother's absence. She tries to run away from her hurt, "Out of the Dust" (p. 197-8) but she finds that the hurt follows her, and it is in this realization that she is finally able to forgive her father and herself. She is ready to begin living again.
Jacky shares his thoughts.......2007-08-30
This book has a lot of poems about the main character, Billie Jo's childhood. She has many sad stories that make me feel upset; also she has some happy stories too. Her poems are really good. I can imagine the area that she wrote about and feel the way she feels. Finally she was happy, which makes me really glad. I really love this book. I sympathize with the experience of her mother and brother dying, her friends leaving, and her hand being burned. These poems really describe Billie Jo from her outside to her inside. Her life wasn't happy most of the time, because she couldn't even play piano or forget the pain in her hands and heart. Her stories to the world make me feel very touched; when she is happy I can feel it, when she sad I share that with her. The last part is my favorite because they are finally out of the dust and they have their family back together. She described it perfectly; I can see the picture of the story. While reading the book, I looked up information on the internet and watched a movie (The Grapes Of Wrath) to learn more about the time period and understand more.
Not just for Children.......2007-08-07
Though "Out of the Dust" is marketed at a YA selection, it is no more a children's book than "The Grapes of Wrath" or "To Kill a Mockingbird." With a series of perfectly rhythmed prose poems that capture the sensations of the 1930s dust bowl, "Out of the Dust" tells the story of a young girl in Oklahoma who must overcome her own guilt when her mother is killed in a house fire. This is one of the most vivid, painful and, in the end, joyous stories I have ever had the great fortune to find.
Billie_Joe's escape.......2007-06-03
I thought that this book out of 10 was a 10.It was a great book and I just hope that after reading this book review that you will want to read it, too.I hope that everyone will read this book(if they like my book review about it).Well this book was my favorite book that I've read so far and i hope that you will love it, too.
back to the prairie.......2007-06-02
Out Of The Dust (Apple Signature Edition) is the 2-year diary of an adolescent Oklahoma girl, Billie Jo. Each 1-2 page entry is a prose poem that relates the dust-bowl setting to the lives of Billie Jo, her family, and community.
Karen Hesse's free-verse prose is serviceable, reminiscent of Masters' Spoon River Anthology (Signet Classics). It serves simply to control the flow, tempo, and idiom of the narration.
Through most of the book, I feared that the story would seep away into despair and inevitability. Instead, at the end I recognized the toughened and tangled strands of Billie Jo's life rising from the dust in a perfect metaphor of the prairie sod.
For a completely different, but equally wonderful treatment of this metaphor I recommend PrairyErth (A Deep Map): An Epic History of the Tallgrass Prairie Country.

Customer Reviews:
a pretty good book.......2007-09-30
like i said before, it's a pretty good book. the only reasons I'm marking it down is because of Cloudpaw and Bluestar. Cloudpaw constantly gets in trouble and that gets very annoying, especially when Fireheart doesn't punish him enough. And Bluestar's frustrating, thinking that everyone is a traitor and not coming out at all. She has also given up belief of StarClan. Overall, a pretty good book
Heatfilled .......2007-06-04
In this book, Fireheart can't help thinking that Tigerclaw will carry out his threat against Fireheart and Thunderclan. A storm is rising that might distroy the Clan and they don't even know about it.

yet another review from "Noodleheart"........2007-03-19
Fireheart is the new ThunderClan deputy and Tigerclaw is still roaming in the forest. With Bluestar still struck by Tigercaw's sudden betrayal, Fireheart must do everything. Also an apprentice is breaking the warrior code double overtime! And in the story are 5 mysterious deaths. And for some odd reason, Fireheart is afraid of Bramblekit, Tigerclaw and Goldenflower's kit! Goldenflower is not afraid knowing that Bramblekit will never know his father. But the big question is will he? Bluestar is also on her last life and Fireheart and Yellowfang know! (well Bluestar also knows of course.) And with a disease spreading through the forest, how will the cats survive? And why is WindClan still mad even though ThunderClan killed Brokentail?

Customer Reviews:
My daughter wants all the books now!.......2007-07-08
My daughter is 9 and has Asperger's syndrome, or high functioning autism. She collects feathers, and the weather is one of her IMPORTANT subjects. She reads fast, and finished this book quickly.... and informed me that she needs to read the rest of them so could I please help her get them right away? The story itself is a little intense because the goblin is actually trying to hit Storm and girls with lightning, but of course it all comes out okay in the end. We will definitely read the other books in the series!
Got My Daughter Interested in Reading Again.......2007-05-07
We've been struggling for a way to get my daughter to read now that she's run out of Junie B. Jones books. The Weather Fairies books have done the trick. She seems to enjoy reading again for the first time in half a year or more.
I have to say I haven't read any of the Weather Fairies myself but I caught my twelve-year-old son reading the series because his sister had obviously liked it. He said he wanted to read more, too.
We love the Rainbow Magic series.......2007-02-06
My soon-to-be 5 year old daughter and I LOVE this series. The stories are simple enough and short enough (about 40 min) to hold her attention as a read aloud, and there are enough illustrations peppered throughout to give her something to look at as I read. Both the stories and the illustrations are delightful. These books have ignited a passion for reading in my daughter, and she is now extremely motivated to read on her own so she doesn't have to wait for me to read them to her. We can hardly wait for the rest of the series to be published in the US. There are also the Jewel Fairies, the Pet Fairies, and the Party Fun Fairies that are only available in the UK right now, but it looks like some of them will be published here this summer. You can be sure we will be pre-ordering them!
We love it!!.......2006-12-23
My seven-year old daughter Clare has read 12 books by Daisy Meadows and we've ordered several more. She especially liked Crystal the Snow Fairy. It has great pictures. Some of her other favorites include: Pearl the Cloud Fairy and Heather the Violet Fairy. What a great series!
Doodle's magic feathers lost!.......2006-10-13
I love this book! I would recommend this book for ages 5 and up. In this book Jack Frost's evil goblins stole Doodle's, the rooster who gives the weather faries their weather feathers so they can control the weather in FairyLand, tail feathers which are the weather feathers! Kirsty and Rachel are best friends, who are friends with the fairies so they can help! Their first mission is in this book when they have to find Crystal the snow fairies weather feather. Read this book to find out more!
Book Description
When Ralphie imagines that he's a superhero named Weatherman, the Magic School Bus becomes a glider riding an updraft into the storm clouds. Then the kids become part of the storm - turning from ice crystals to rain. It's a science lesson they'll never forget!
Customer Reviews:
The Magic School Bus series.......2007-01-04
These are great educational books where children have no idea that they are learning.
Disappointing compared to earlier Magic School Bus books.......2006-05-01
My 4 year old son fell in love with the earlier books in this series - Hurricane, Ocean Floor, Electricity, Human body, Water Works, Bees. They are rich in detail, and are very engaging for young exploring minds. This one (MSB Kicks Up a Storm) pales by comparison. Not nearly as much detail. Lacks the quality of illustrations and side-commentary that make the earlier ones so special. This is a run-of-the-mill kids book with nothing much to distinguish it. I have read elsewhere that this series took a downturn when it became a TV show. It certainly reads like a comic-book version of a TV show. Take my son's advice - stick with the earlier books in the Magic School Bus series.
Shicka-Shicka Kaboom! The Book........2005-07-16
It's high summer at school and hot, hot, hot. Carlos is working on a rain catcher, but there's no rain. Ralphie stares out the window and concludes that what they all need to cool down is a big thunderstorm. The only problem is that the kids don't know how weather is made. Is it water? Is it moving air or the heat from the sun that creates weather?
Well, of course, there's nothing to be done about it but to get out there, take chances, get messy and make mistakes!
The children learn all about weather but not before they are turned into water droplets, ride on falling ice crystals and get whooshed about in a thermal updraft. Shicka-Shicka Kaboom! Ralphie gets carried away as your children will be.
Four Stars. These books are very educational, but they are not the easiest read-alouds. (I read them to my 3 and 5 year-olds anyway.)
**See the `Search Inside' Excerpt page for an example of reading level. Certainly young children will not be able to read them.

As the first Bone trilogy comes to a conclusion, questions are answered, mysteries are revealed, and the stage is set for the brewing conflict in the valley. Jeff Smith is in top form in Bone: Eyes of the Storm. His artful balancing of humor, suspense, and pathos makes for an unforgettable reading experience. The dream sequences in this volume are inspired pieces of comics storytelling, especially the six-page "Moby Bone" sequence: the pacing, illustration, symbolism, and panel layout are close to perfect. A special addition to this collection is a set of more than 40 pages that have been retouched from the already near-perfect original comics. There are also 5 never-before-seen story pages and 9 new illustrations.
Book Description
In "Eyes of the Storm," volume three of the nine-book BONE saga, Lucius, Smiley, and Phoney survive an attack by the rat creatures and return safely to Lucius' tavern in Barrelhaven. Phoney, desperate to win a bet with Lucius, stokes the townspeople's fear of dragons and boasts that he is a professional dragonslayer. Back at the farm, Fone Bone and Thorn are troubled by strange dreams, and Gran'ma Ben's reaction to them is stranger still: She reveals long-kept secrets and warns of great danger. Thorn, Fone Bone, and Gran'ma Ben may have to leave the farm forever.
Customer Reviews:
the plot thickens.......2007-08-13
I think this was my favorite volume in the series so far. The first two were fun and entertaining, but in this one the plot becomes thicker, more complicated, and we start to see glimpses of a rich backstory behind the characters Grandma Ben and Thorn. People who liked the first two books will be sure to like this one, too.
1st Graphic Novel ever read.......2007-05-25
This is my 1st Graphic Novel that I have read. Jeff Smith is a great author and illustrator. The words along with the pictures tell a great story. Jeff uses many story elements in his book Eyes of the storm. His plot has several conflicts in it. He uses mainly person-against-person, with it being the Bone cousins and village people against the rat creatures. Jeff Smith uses flashbacks and foreshadowing in dreams to let Thorn know what her past was like. He uses cliff hangers to make the story more suspenseful. Amongst all of this, Jeff Smith knows how to lighten the atmosphere by putting humor in the right places. This book kept me wanting more. I can't wait to get a hold of the next volume. This will not be my last graphic novel that I read.
Bone.......2007-03-16
The Bone books are the gratest comics I have Ever read
check em' out ;)
Eyes of the Storm.......2007-02-17
This book I just read is about a boy named Bone. Bone's friend started a cow race, and convinced everyone to bet on a cow that didn't even exist. So now they have to wash dishes at a bar to pay back what they destroyed. They have weird dreams about their past. So they spend days trying to figure out what their dreams were about. There are furry creatures in the woods trying to kill them.
Bone was the main character in the story he is the coolest and funniest in the book. There grandma reminds me of my grandma from when I was 3. She told me that there as no such thing as ghosts. I figured out that there was such thing as ghosts when I was 5. My favorite part in the story is when Bone realized that their dreams where real. If you like comic books then you will like the Bone series. This book was made to be read by kids 11 and older.
Bone, Books 1 through 4.......2007-01-28
These books are fantastic! I have two 7yr old boys that cry if I don't read this book to them at night.
Parents:
Imagine using, I won't read to you tonight if you don't stop right now, and it works...that's how good this series is. At first I thought the book might be a little too scary for them but they were hooked and it wasn't until book 4 that I had to consider sensoring some of the language (things like "idiot"). Any book that brings kids back to the well again and again is worth purchasing.
Book Description
From a leading child psychiatrist, a comprehensive parents' guide to understanding--and managing--pediatric bipolar disorder
Once considered an adult illness, bipolar disorder (manic depression) is the fastest growing category in child psychiatry since ADHD, touching the lives of an estimated one million children. But often it goes misdiagnosed, and children can be prescribed medication that only worsens the condition. Parents are desperate for someone to guide the way through this difficult time. With her twenty-five years of clinical experience, child psychiatrist Rosalie Greenberg offers families a lifeline--a book filled with sage, practical, and reassuring advice for anyone struggling to help a child locate that elusive inner calm.
With a revolutionary approach that sees the brilliance, the sweetness, the creativity in these kids, Dr. Greenberg gathers their stories, as well as their parents' stories, to open a window onto these children who have for so long gone misunderstood. She walks readers through the different scenarios that may occur with bipolar kids, from daring manic phases to sudden periods of overwhelming sadness. She spells out the "whys" behind the condition; shows parents how best to navigate the peaks and valleys of bipolar; and provides parents with the assurance that they need not tackle this illness alone. Most important, she encourages adults to listen to what children say through the maze of their mania and depression, for this can make all the difference in diagnosing and successfully managing bipolar.
Bipolar Kids offers parents welcome understanding, guidance, and, most of all, hope that every child can--and should--lead a full, productive, and contented life.
Customer Reviews:
Forever Grateful.......2007-09-26
Anyone looking at this book positively must read this amazing chronicle of many families trials and tribulations with the bipolar disorder. Dr. Greenberg should win an award not only for this book, but her contributions to the field. She has been a pioneer in the discovery of detecting Juvenile Bipolarity and has changed my sons life! I laughed and I cried through this book and will continue to use it as a source of invaluable information. You absolutely must read it!
A Grateful Parent.......2007-09-07
It is incredible how accurately Dr. Greeberg has captured the feelings and frustrations of a bipolar child and his family. Finally, someone who really understands!! Her positive attitude and approach has given us real hope and much needed encouragement in dealing with this difficult condition. Thank you Dr. Greenberg! A Grateful Parent
A Must-Have Handbook for Parents Raising Children with Mood Disorders.......2007-07-20
Dr. Greenberg takes a complicated subject and breaks it down into easy to comprehend chapters, with lots of good advise gained from her own practice and experience. A must-have guide book for a parent of a child with a mood disorder. The review of currents medications is informative and helpful, and the discusion on comorbidity demonstrated just how difficult it is to determine a bipolar diagnosis. Encouraging, engaging, and educational--leaves one hopeful and optimistic.
Bipolar Kids: Helping Your Find Calm in The Mood Storm.......2007-07-04
An Incredible Book. I wish I had read it 7 years ago. It would have helped both my child and my husband and i understand our pain and ended it much sooner. I will reccomend it to our Psychiatrist.
It can change your world!!.......2007-05-28
I laughed and I cried when I read this marvelous book by Dr. Rosalie Greenberg. You see, my son has been a patient of hers for 11 years during which time the possibility of diagnosing a child with Bipolar Syndrome emerged in the psychiatric world. She figured it out and then we worked together to help him. This book is the story of our family and those of the multitude of families who have been helped by Dr. Greenberg. I only wish this information had been available when my son first became ill. Now, he is 15, and an amazing, stable, productive, creative and compassionate human being. Thanks to Dr. Greenberg and to our partnership, he has been able to meet his potential. Read this book. It can change your world!!
Customer Reviews:
Good book, not as musical as I thought........2005-09-13
This is a good book for music teachers to have, but don't expect to use all 101 games. Many are variations on a theme, are impratical in the classroom, or simply are not very musical. An example of this is a game where students have to act out the titles of songs, like Charades. Sure, it'd probably be fun, but it's hard to say what the students are actually learning about music from that. I'd say there's 10-15 games I think I might use - or leave for a sub to use. I also would modify most of them to make them more appropriate for a limited classroom space.
Great Resource!.......2005-08-02
This book is SO GREAT for teaching music and music themes at home. It works for any number of children, but it is best for a small group of about 3-6. I used it with only one, and it worked ok with some modification. Great variety of games that kids really enjoy playing!
Funtastic.......2005-05-03
Music is fun for play and doesn't always have to be taken so seriously. These well thought-out games are adaptible for so many different moods integrating the rhythum and beauty of auditory art into activity for kids.
Excellent activity ideas.......2002-05-16
I am a music therapy student and I used this book in constructing activities for music classes at a summer camp. This book had so many ideas for activities with music materials and ideas that were easily adaptable to fit the groups' needs. I especially love that few of these games really have a single winner, so everyone gets to participate and enjoy. I would highly recommend this for music therapists and educators as well as anyone else looking for this type of game for children.
101 Music Games for Children.......2000-06-05
Being a music educator, I purchased this book in hopes toenhance my music program. I have found it hard in the past to find musical games that young children can enjoy outside of musical chairs! With this book, I will never have that problem. To insure that my students have FUN learning music, we spend the last part of class playing one of these games. It is easy to do because this book provides you with a guide indicating age appropriateness, how long the game takes (5 min., 15 min., 30 min., etc.), specific number of players needed, and instruments and/or props if needed. Oh, did I mention that you don't have to be a kid to love these games? Well, you don't! There are games in here for those competitive music know-it-alls like myself! Did I mention that this book is great for planning parties? Forget the clown, it's usually a rip off anyway! Besides, music and parties go hand in hand! Last, it's a totally great book! ...

A Book series at the top of its genre!.......2007-08-29
Have you ever been into the Christian bookstore recently? All you see is piles of the next Left Behind, some series about Amish women, a great amount of Dekker/Peretti wannabes, and a great amount of Christian romance. For some that suits their taste buds. But for the fantasy/scifi person I am, that stuff does not at all interest me. With the resurgence of fantasy thanks to Jk Rowling's awesome series about a boy wizard, fantasy books in the reign of Tolkien/Lewis; the master of yesteryears are here to stay. I picked up the series quite randomly, after reading Legends of the Guardian Kings (an amazing series I highly reccomend for mature christian fantasy readers), what I found was a series that was a bit similar to Narnia but much different in its presentation of the awesome Glimpse concept and such great creatures as the mortiwraiths. There are awesome characters such as Mallik influenced by Tolkien lore. Plus there are heroines for the female readers that even male readers like me absolutely love named Antionette, because who does not love a girl who can kick serious butt. The fight scenes are exciting and there are many surprises within the plot, nothing is as predictable as it sometimes may seem to be. Interwoven with all these great characters, locales, and battle sequences; are great spiritual messages that all Christians can relate to! I highly recommend this series to all ages; especially to those who are suffering from Post Potter Depression (like me) and who ever faced the dilemma of finding a fantasy book within a Christian bookstore. Any age can read them, as everyone who has read Harry Potter and Narnia learned, that any good story can be enjoyed by those of all ages.

Not as good as the first book, worse than the second.......2007-08-18
I have just fininshed reading all three of the Door Within Trilogy books with my son. The first book was engaging, and the Christian message was delivered smoothly and without a heavy hand. The second book was ok, with the message becoming more heavy handed, which does much to destroy the quality of the writing - it becomes less intelligent as the book moves along. The third book is simply DREADFUL. The book still has some of the adventure characteristics that a 10 - 12 year old boy would like, but the quality of the writing is so poor that I would expect more from my 10th grade literature students. The Christian message is very heavy handed, so much so that it became a turn off and distracted from the flow of the story. This book is so poorly written that I actually looked to see who the publisher was, because I couldn't believe a mainstream publisher would have published the book.
I love that Mr. Batson wants to communicate a Christian message to youngsters and applaud his courage for writing the series; probably a fine book for homeschoolers, but not for public school or for any one who wants to model good writing.
A great 'ending' to this amazing trilogy.......2007-06-28
An amazing 'ending' to the trilogy!! The story is very character/plot driven, and I had a hard time putting the book down to take care of other responsibilities(like feeding my family! hehe). Although this was the last book of the trilogy, Mr. Batson certainly does leave room for the possibility of future adventures....Adventures are funny things, after all!
Great read for everyone.......2007-03-14
I read the entire series in three nights. I could not stop reading and when it came to this book it not only stood for it's self but completed the series in a way the made you think...is this really over? I look back on this series all the time and I feel it has changed the way I look at everyday events. I recommend this book and the others to all people. I am in college and loved every minute of it. Thank you

Twisters.......2006-03-08
Do you know how rain is formed? Do you know when tornado season is? If you want to know these questions read the Magic Tree House book Twisters by Mary Pope Osborn and Sal Murdocca. Read this nonfiction book and learn how hail is formed, learn what is the worst storm. Also there are some sweet experiments. This is an awesome book I loved it a lot. Go to the book store near you and get this book or any Magic Tree House book.
A real "Twister".......2005-02-07
The book that I'm reviewing in school is Twisters and it's by Mary Pope Osborne. I think this book deserves four stars because it is an interesting book to read. The book I'm reading is about weather. They talk about twisters, hurricanes, storms and other cool things. One thing that I learned is hail can be the size of a golf ball. Also, there are different kinds of hail sizes, like the size of a ant. I would recommend this book to a friend because if you're doing research you could find great information. Other books by this author are research guides on other topics.

Twisters.......2004-02-06
Twisters are tornadoes. I learned about them in the book Twisters by Will Osborne. Twisters wreak everything. Twisters can destroy homes because the winds go 300 miles per hour. They hit in the midwestern U.S. in April, May and June. I feel excited about this book because it's good to know about natural disasters so if it happens you'll be prepared.

Customer Reviews:
Very Entertaining.......2007-04-11
This book combines 3 of my favorite things: a quick moving story with engaging, believeable characters, a good mystery, and Ancient Egypt.
I love mysteries, especially British authors. As an American, some of the British slang in this book is a little hard to follow at times. But that doesn't detract from the story at all. Elizabeth has written a thoroughly enjoyable book with engaging characters. There are characters that you love and ones you love to hate. It is easy to forget that this book is fiction. This is one of those books you still stay up until 2 am reading because there is really no good place to quit. You will keep teling yourself "just one more chapter".
For fans of this type of mystery, I also highly recommend the works of Dorothy L. Sayers and the more well-known Agatha Christie.
I am so sorry.......2006-08-05
I am so sorry I read this book under the illusion it was a mystery type of book. The author has been writing on the edge of fictional biography/mystery, and this time she crossed the line. I got bewildered when the "plot" never turned up, the bad guys were just so unimportant that the twins linguistic skills just overrode their appearance on the scene and Peabody's maternal instincts just couldn't be bothered with evil doers. The book is probably fine for those who bought the author's work for reading about the sentimental family interrelations but for those who expected something more exciting it is a dissapointment. I feel as if I was sold this book on false pretenses.
Another generation to add to the fun!.......2006-02-04
In this book we are treated to another generation of Emerson, and even though they are all under six, they do add to the story, and give us all something to look forward to in upcoming books. I also recommend that this book should be read in order. So many of the things that happen in each book are dependent on things that happened in previous books. This is another great adventure that is set in Amelia's beautiful Luxor. Even though The Great War is over, it doesn't mean that the Emersons are in less danger. Danger always seems to find them in the guise of tomb robbers, murderers and other nefarious characters. I won't say anymore. You will need to read this wonderful series for yourself, but be prepared for an exciting journey when you first begin your journey with the beloved Emersons.
Very Good .......2006-01-09
This Serise just keeps getting better and better. The Emerson's are at it agian and they are taking the rest of us along for the ride. God bless you Elizabeth Peters for continuing to put out quality material.
Always excellent.......2005-08-19
Elizabeth Peters has done it again. Her Mrs. Amelia P. Emerson is the heroine that comes as a fresh wind in the violent profession of sleuths in litterature today.
